I would like to start by saying I first contacted All My Sons on May 22, 2026 to book my move for June 8, 2026. I paid my deposit and discussed the move. We went over what was to be moved, and I will point out I was never asked for an estimated number of boxes. Though I was very clear that we have enough stuff to fill the 26 ft truck. I was quoted an hourly move with two movers. During that phone call I agreed to the hour travel surcharge but no 18% fuel surcharge was mentioned. On June 3, 2026 I received a text message asking for a phone call to finalize the details of my move. When I called, they asked the intake questions all over again. When I expressed that I had already done this process, I was told that it wasn't in the system and we had to do it again. At this point the move quote changed to an hourly with three men. I agreed. I was also told about the new 18% fuel charge at this time. I expressed that it was the first time I was hearing about it; and that it wasn't what I originally agreed to. Also of note, I have no correspondence from this time; and I paid my deposit but was not asked to sign anything. I was told we would be an "afternoon move" and would receive a phone call when the movers were on the way. On Friday June 5th, 2026 I was offered a protection plan, which I agreed to. Yesterday, June 8th, 2026 we waited through the day. At around 1014 am I called to check the status of the movers. I was informed that they should be calling me around 130pm-2pm to let me know they were on the way. I called again at 3pm to ask for an update. I was informed they were still working on the previous move, and that they should be calling soon. Around 4pm they showed up. It was immediately obvious that they were not prepared for the size of my move. Some time was wasted on the tablet that wasn't working. Then; I was informed that they would only be able to move exactly what was on the intake sheet. Which specifically listed a significantly smaller number of boxes, and a furniture list that did not match what I had told them during either intake phone call. I called the office for clarification. Now; I will admit I have a lot of stuff; but I was very honest about the fact that we would need the full truck. I was also informed that the crew only had 4hrs left on their DOT 11hr maximum. When I went over what we did have to move, it was met with a not worried tone, that it was fine. I expressed again that I had repeatedly told All My Sons that I would fill the 26ft truck. (Also of note about 1/4 of the truck was taken up by supplies). I was informed that the person I talked to yesterday wasn't the one who did my intake, either one. Also, at no point was I offered any alternatives. Not to move the move to another day, nothing. So, I felt pressured to get as much done as I could within the 4hrs. We loaded what we could in the first hour and a half into the truck, and left for the delivery location. When we arrived, there was yet another administrative delay, as there was no one to take my payment; and they could not start unloading until it was finalized. I will note at this point I was extremely tired, stressed, and felt like I was in a hostage situation. I signed, and once we actually got someone on the phone, I paid. Acutely aware the entire time that we were burning into the remaining 2 hour window. At around 815pm they were finished. With enough time to spare to get back to where they needed to; within the 4hour window I was given. I would like to point out at this time; upon reviewing my recept this morning, that the end time I was charged for was 930pm. Which means that I was charged for a little over a whole extra hour. As I take stock, we probably accomplished less than half of my move. It is important to note that the movers themselves were amazing, and the only complaint I can find about them is that they were exhausted and rushed; through no fault of their own.

Excellent customer service, they were patient and professional whenever I had questions about the process which led me to use their service once more. Fast forward to today. On planning the move, once more the staff were excellent to assist with my planning as I knew there was going to be some delay between the time of packing and the availability of my new residence. They made me feel secure in a plan to pick up my trailer on 31Aug and deliver it promptly on 09Sep. The customer service professional advised me of an ideal plan and that they would hold my items if they happened to arrive too early. No problem, right? However, they didn't pickup on 31Aug as described, unknown to me I had to call for trailer pickup that was supposed to be pre-arranged but a call cleared that up on 01Sep and they hauled it off. Since then, the trailer has been parked in Winston Salem, NC. A follow up call to their toll-free number on 08Sep to a less than interested employee suggested it may arrive on the 11th but they do not deliver on weekends so it may be the 12th...13th...14th even. At this point I'm wondering if I am going to require shopping for a new wardrobe to start my new job at my new location. The truck location still showing Winston Salem, NC and it's the day it was intended to be delivered. I have had to reschedule my unloading staff appointment and have no idea when to expect arrival of my belongings. My first experience would have been a 5/5. This experience, I would rate a 1/5. At this point I feel concerned my property is not secure and that it has not made any movement in 9 days.

They assessed the items to be taken and their prices were decent. Best thing is knowing that they intend on donating the items that are salvageable to veterans. Being a former US serviceman, this was great to learn. Even my sister hired College Hunks to move her belongings across town as she was going through a divorce. Our experiences made the decision much easier to hire College Hunks yet again as I have just purchased my next " forever home" not too far from the apartment. I highly recommend College Hunks Hauling Junk for anyone in need of their moving services. Not only do they remove the much larger pieces of furniture with ease, but they always seem to use care when removing and relocating them into your planned destination. No dings on the walls, no scratches on the floors and they are very respectful and courteous. My last move, they collected a China cabinet, a bedroom dresser, an armoire, a hand made kitchen table and antique display table with marble slab top... all were donated. Thanks to College Hunks, it is nice to know that my furnishings could benefit another in need of them. That alone is worth it.

A few of these were after relationship breakups, so he literally helped me move forward in life! My most recent move was from Virginia to Texas in October 2022. Ivan and Anthony coordinated my move-out from house to storage, storage unit to moving truck, and then delivery to new home. During this move, Ivan also transported my car on a flatbed trailer attached to the moving truck. Before providing estimates and scheduling moves, he would request to take a look at the old space and all items to be moved. He was also helpful in suggesting which size unit to rent when I had to put all my furniture in storage. Neither elevators, stairs, traffic nor weather would deter Quick Move. Ivan made sure that everything was transported and delivered with care and intact. Ivan not only handled moves, he had a good eye for furniture placement. When my bedroom set would not fit, he knew which pieces would look beautiful in other areas of my apartment. Before moving/delivery day, I always printed a copy of my home floor plans and designed my furniture layout. Ivan also helped my mom move appliances/furniture to and from her clinic. He even picked up a store order for me instead of my paying for shipping/delivery and figuring out how to carry the heavy purchase upstairs. In past moves, he packed my kitchen and living room into boxes, which I appreciated. Ivan is professional, reliable, trustworthy and communicates well. He identifies ways to save money and resources. He ensures that he has enough help, whom have also been reliable. He uses his time efficiently. He requires a down payment of 50 percent, which I am comfortable paying because I know he will complete the job. I highly recommend Quick Move for all types of moves.
