Found this place within walking distance of the LA Convention Center and decided to visit since it was highly rated and close by. The photos here on Yelp looked great so we were excited to try this place out. Cute interior and okay amount of seating, but great customer service and very clean bathroom despite the location. We ordered the chilaquiles and the steak & eggs with the two lemonades. The two lemonade were so good! I love that they are all fresh squeezed and made in house and the shredded mint was a great addition to the drinks. They are really sour so heads up, but we did like that too. The chilaquiles were pretty good, loved the black beans on the side with it. The steak & eggs was very good too, tender meat with a delicious sauce on it. Atmosphere: This café is very small, with just a few tables inside and a couple outside, but it's cute and decorated with lots of plants. They also sell small potted plants in the front, which adds to the charm. It has a cozy vibe, almost like they're going for a "cutesy" aesthetic. Parking: There's no private parking, so you'll need to use metered parking right in front. Be prepared to pay a little extra for that. Food: We came mainly for the chilaquiles and tried both red and green. The plates were big, which was nice, and the salsa on them was flavorful. One downside is that they don't include meat. My sister upgraded to add steak, and that was almost $8 more, which felt a little pricey. We also tried a slice of banana bread, but unfortunately, we didn't really enjoy that. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time overall. Drinks & Extras: I ordered a hot latte, and it was really good. They also sell bread in the front, which is a nice touch. Service: The service was good, and since we were the only ones dining in at the time, it was quiet and not rushed at all. They take cards (and likely cash too). This is one of my favorite breakfast cafes. Locally owned, the food is amazing, and the staff treat you like family. Love the 2+2+2. You can even ask them to add peppers & onions to the eggs and potatoes (definitely recommend). Everything I've had off the menu is filled with flavor and love. Food was very underwhelming, lots of different food types in 1 menu and we had a bit of variety, yet only 1 single plate stood out. We got strawberry stuffed french toast, a carne asada burrito, burger, salmon bowl. The best plate was the salmon bowl, super random! The burger was whatever, really stuffed with red onion and giant leaf lettuce that overflowered the bun and burger. Stuffed strawberry french toast wasn't actually stuffed, like you would assume, the marmalade on top was not good. The carne asada burrito left a lot of room for improvement, super bland and honestly didn't taste authentjc, tasted like something you'd get at Moes. Overall would skip, service was extremely slow too, I understand that they were shortstaffed apparently but they had all 4 plates come out at completely different times, like 5+ mins apart, which was odd, to us. Also to point out it was just us and someone else in there. The interior is cute but the tables are very small. Also side note that isn't on the restaurant, the street parking at the parking meters in front of the restaurant, the sidewalk is extremely high and when I opened my car door it definitely scratched it up from the bottom and I as well as my friends could barely get out of my car, from how low it was compared to how high the sidewalk was! Just a note, nothing to do with the restaurant but just a warning I guess, if your car is already lower. read more

But it's clean and there is enough seating so no problem there. The service was good, always with a smile and very prompt. The food was just average. this is a follow up review. I got food poisoning on Dec 2nd 20204, it was a soup of the day which was a brocoli soup that had pieces of grilled and burned brocoli. I ended up going to the Emergency room Dec 4th and got released Dec 26th. This place is a Healthy Cafe or so it looks like but the Soup landed me in the Hospital. I know they read my review and I should Sue them... I'm lucky to be alive and just wonder if anyone else who got that soup that same day went through the same thing as me. Be careful what you eat.. Grade of A and cleaning Ness doesn't mean anything cause you don't know what they're serving you, watch Kitchen Nightmares .. sometimes they just sauce things up and you truly don't know what you're eating. read more

I've been here a few times now, and it's clear they're working to dial things in. You're greeted with warm, welcoming smiles and friendly energy. With a little more direction and training for the servers, I think the experience will only get better. My first visit was a hit-and-miss order, and during the second, hot coffee was accidentally spilled on me--likely from trying to juggle too many items at once for a simple request. That said, I can see the effort. Keep practicing--you're close. With a bit more focus on training and details (like fully cooking the pancakes, which came out underdone both times), this could easily be a 5-star spot. Ambiance? Very cool. This place started off great we got seated quickly, the vibes were good, and I really thought we were about to have a solid meal. But after sitting down, everything went downhill faster than my hopes for those pancakes. Our server said she'd "be right back," which apparently meant 15-20 minutes later. By the time she returned to take our order. We asked for water, but of course, we got our drinks first. The water must've been on its own journey. Then came the 40 minutes to 1 hour wait for the food. We were told there was a malfunction in the kitchen at this point. They brought us complimentary banana bread, but it was burnt around the edges... not "caramelized," not "crispy," just straight-up burnt. I ate it anyway because, at that point, I was starving enough to consider chewing the napkins. Once the food finally arrived (and we still had to remind them about the water), the sandwich was actually delicious. Shout out to the person who made that it was the one thing keeping this meal from being a total tragedy. The pancakes, though? They tasted like someone forgot to finish cooking them. It was giving "raw dough" meets "crumbled bread." I took one bite and said, "Nope. My stomach deserves better." I asked if they could take the pancakes off the bill since I barely touched them. They took off $2... even though the pancakes cost almost $10. Make it make sense. For waiting nearly an hour, they gave us a 7% discount, which was about $3 off a $46 meal. Meanwhile, adding bacon to my sandwich was $4. So basically, the discount just paid for the bacon. All in all, I'd say come here only if the kitchen isn't having a meltdown and the server remembers you exist. The food could be good, but the experience? Stumbled upon this cute brunch spot in LA that my bestie found on Yelp. It's been open for years and we're both so happy we found it. The service was excellent, the establishment was clean, and the entire staff was all so friendly. I parked in the back and paid $5 for parking. My bestie was lucky and found metered parking right in front. I ordered one of the most popular things on the menu, the breakfast sandwich. It was good, filling, but likely something I'll skip next time. It wasn't as memorable as my experience + coffee which is why I'll be back!
