    Side Buffalo Chicken Salad Meal

I have ordered Flip-a-Lo's twice through our lunch delivery service at work. The buffalo chicken salad meal was simply chicken strips with a side salad and a breadstick. The salad was very rough with mostly cabbage and carrots, not much lettuce at all. The chicken that came with the salad was very dry and overcooked. Bummer. So next time, I opted to get the chicken wrap and I'm SO glad I did! Success. The wrap is a really nice size and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The hot buffalo wasn't spicy at all so next time I'm going to try something more flavorful like the Flip-n-Gold. I'm getting this wrap again next week so stay tuned.

    Flip a Lo's wings did not disappoint me. 5 lemon pepper, 5 mild buffalo and a side of fries. The wings were crispy, just the way I like them. The lemon pepper wings weren't too lemony. The perfect balance of lemon and pepper. Although I ordered the mild buffalo, it still had a lil kick to it. The fries were basic. French fried with a sprinkle of salt. #wings #flipalos #foodie #foodporn #chickenwings #chicken #fried #gratuityadded #instafood #fries #foodstagram #hotwings #buffalowings #friedchicken #lemonpepper #charlottefood #cltfood #cltfoodie #charlottenc #charlotte #clteats #clt #queencity #charlotteeats #charlottesgotalot #pinevillematthews #exploreclt #cltfoodies #eatdrinkclt #goodeats

Wings were very disappointing. They were not crisp, but were flabby. The meat was hard and dry. I think they must have spent some time I the microwave.

This is a great little wings joint, if you can you find it, that is. It has a narrow storefront and is located beside The Fresh Market in the Carmel Commons Shopping Center. Their main thing, of course, are their wings and they have never disappointed me in the past; however, they also offer chicken strips, salads, chicken wraps and soft shell tacos. Most everything is accompanied by their killer (garlic knot-like) breadsticks. The salad, at $8, was fresh and substantial. I'm not sure if it's made in house or delivered but it was delicious as was the medium hot strips that were served separately with the breadsticks. The tacos were just okay but the fries were better than reported by another Yelper. Did I mention the breadsticks were delicious?! Service, although limited, was friendly and attentive. Sanitation grade was a 98. Seating is available inside and out. Overall it was a good experience. We expect to return for lunch.

We've only ordered Flip A Loos through UberEats, and I can't being to explain the CHOKEHOLD the Flip a Loos fries with Flip n Gold have on me. I could literally eat this once a week. Their Buffalo chicken wrap is also phenomenal, perfectly wrapped with all the ingredients you want in a wrap. I will say the wings are a little smaller than other wing places locally, but the flavor is always on point! I would say the food is consistently delicious, especially these fries

During our coronavirus lockdown, we decided to try out a new place that came recommended by a few other for our take out of the day. Let's start with the service. They were so friendly both on the phone when I had questions and when I got there to pick it up. They have curbside pickup parking spots. Call when you arrive and they bring your food out right away. My food was ready 15 minutes after I placed my order (barely enough time for me to drive there). Obviously this is very specific to this point in time, but it makes me think they always have great service. Now for the food. We ordered a large wing meal (10 wings), 10 just wings, and a regular buffalo pizza sticks (with medium sauce). For our wing sauces we got lemon pepper, garlic parm, medium buffalo/honey BBQ, flip'n hot buffalo/tangy BBQ (5 of each). It's awesome that they let you do half and half and combine two sauces on one wing. As for the wings: the flip'n hot buffalo/tangy BBQ combo was my favorite (the honey BBQ was a little too sweet on the other one and covered up the medium buffalo flavor). The lemon pepper was also very good. The garlic parm wasn't bad, but the flavor was a little weak. The buffalo pizza sticks were my favorite. These were the ultimate comfort food. The were perfect dipped in the delicious ranch. Their bread sticks were surprisingly tasty as well (come with meals). This was some solid takeout overall and I'd love to eat it fresh once they're able to do dine in again.

It has been way too long since an update! We love Flip-A-Lo's (hard to say it sometimes, we like their old name Flip'n Chicken better :) ) and have been going here for 7 years! They are our absolutely favorite chicken/wing spot! I want to give Flip-A-Lo's a huge shout out and thank you for staying open during these COVID times. They made it easy to be one of our weekly local places to support. We ordered online and called them once we arrived to notify them of our arrival. They came right out and handed us our order. So simple! As far as the food - it is still excellent. I always get the buffalo chicken wrap which is amazing, my husband gets the wings - 1/2 buffalo and 1/2 lemon pepper, but this time we also decided to try the buffalo pizza sticks. OMG! We have been missing out. They are AMAZING! We have now decided we will be ordering these every time as well! Again, highly recommend this place and we will continue to support them. Love Flip-A-Lo's! Here's to another 7 years!

Don't Sleep on this place for too long. I came out for an event and can't believe I haven't taken advantage of this place for lunch or takeout since it's so close to my office! It's tucked away in a shopping center off of Carmel rd so you will need to look for it, but if you see Party City then you're in the right shopping center. The place is not big so you won't be hosting any birthday parties but it's great for quick eats and wings to go. All food in the building is made from scratch, yes EVERYTHING! Another cool tidbit is you can create your very own sauce. You want sweet but with a spicy finish, they've got something for you. Or how about a crunchy dry rub seasoning finished off with Parmesan...yep they've got you covered there too! Hands down my favorite wing of the night was the lemon pepper! That has never been my go to flavor and clearly I've been missing out! I tried them boneless so I can't wait to go back and try them with drums and flats. I also tried the Buffalo Pizza Sticks and secretly wanted to sneak off with the whole pan. It's a spin on bread sticks but obviously with buffalo sauce. Try this cheesy dish! Totally worth it. Last but not least I tried some of their sticky white rice with a Teriyaki soy glaze and it did not disappoint at all. So definitely don't sleep on that! We met the owner and she was awesome! She told us that her and her husband have ran it together for 9 years! In the short amount of time I spent talking to her it was obvious that she had a huge passion for serving the Charlotte community.

I decided to try a new place for lunch and I stumbled upon this small business. They were extremely kind and thoroughly answered all of my questions with ease. The establishment was very clean and there you either dine in or take out. Due to limited time, I opted to take out but my food was still hot by the time I ate it. I was very happy with my wrap and I will definetly come back again.

This wrap was really good. Despite this being more of a fast food place, it tasted like something you would order from a restaurant. I will definitely be back, with this being one of my more favorite buffalo wraps in the Charlotte area.

My dining mate and I decided to try this place for lunch since we were in the mood for chicken. Strips , sticks and wings featured from all natural fresh and never frozen chicken. There is about 11 types of sauces featured for the chicken; from lemon pepper, honey barbecue ,Teriyaki, Buffalo sauce, garlic parmesan and so on. Bread sticks and Veges such as carrot sticks and celery sticks are also included with your meals along with home made dressings. Other menu options are such features as chicken wraps, Buffalo chicken salad chicken strip rice bowl and Buffalo pizza sticks. Fresh cut French fries and sticky white rice are also available as a side as well as potato salad , garden salad and a mac salad. The menu also features a kids meal . Fountain drinks , bottled beer are available and a dessert, little flips , powdered sugared fried dough. We ordered the 5 strip chicken strip dinner which was $8.50. For me a bit pricey since I am not fond of bread with this type of meal and would have preferred a salad instead of bread and the carrot and celery sticks. I must say that the chicken tenders were very moist flavorful and delicious as well as our sauces we chose ( honey bbq and garlic parmesan ). Bread sticks and carrot and celery sticks very common; nothing extraordinary. We were there at lunch time and no other people in the restaurant except us , but they seemed busy with take out orders and people coming in to pick up their orders. The place itself was very blah and not the most comfortable atmosphere to dine in. Our food came out hot, served on disposable plates, plated reasonably nicely. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the chicken and would return to try their wings.

Nothing was bad, actually, everything was pretty good. The problem was that nothing really crossed over into great. We ordered the $46 Pig Out platter with four proteins, two sides, hushpuppies and pickles. We went with coleslaw and sweet potato fries, and apparently I was feeling particularly committed that night because I ate almost the entire thing myself. The brisket was good. The slaw was good. The sweet potato fries were good. The hushpuppies were good. See the pattern? For something called the Pig Out, I also found myself wishing the meat felt a little less like the precious commodity on the plate and, once again, the pulled pork mostly made me wish I had a pound of Lupita's sitting in front of me instead. Midwood Smokehouse isn't bad BBQ by any stretch. It just landed firmly in the "good" category for us when I was hoping for something memorable. Considering I used some relationship capital convincing her to abandon Mac's for the night, I don't think I'll be suggesting a return trip anytime soon. Mounted game fish, moose, and deer heads give it that hunting-lodge vibe, which actually makes it a fun place to hang out and watch sports. We started with the Billionaire Bacon appetizer--six slices of bacon described as thick-cut, hickory-smoked and candied with brown sugar, red chile flakes, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne. The flavor description was accurate, but the bacon itself really wasn't thick-cut and could've been much crispier. For the price, I expected better. If it had been thicker and crispy, it might've been worth it, but I probably won't order that again. My girlfriend ordered the Southwest Salad, and that dish absolutely delivered. It was a heaping portion topped with perfectly cooked sliced sirloin steak and shrimp, plus mixed greens, carrots, pico de gallo, roasted corn, black beans, pepper jack, and a jalapeño honey vinaigrette. She absolutely loved it. She also got a side of coleslaw, which was surprisingly delicious and a great addition to the meal. She paired everything with the Dirty Blonde beer, which definitely made up for the disappointing appetizer. I went with the naked garlic Parmesan wings and a side Caesar salad. Both were delicious. Out of the four of us, I was the only one who hadn't been here before. It's a long-standing, no-frills wing shack/sports-bar hybrid in south Charlotte that's built a loyal following around one thing: serious wings. There are other things on the menu--but unless you want an appetizer or something alongside your wings, ignore them--the wings are the main event. Their website claims 25 flavors, and if you order more than one set of five, you can sample more than one. I went with ten wings: mild Buffalo and lemon pepper. Everyone recommended the lemon pepper wings. These are not a dry rub; they're a wet, glossy toss--and they are OUTSTANDING. I'm hooked. The Buffalo wings were on par with the best versions of the classic style. They provide celery sticks with blue cheese or ranch dressing--I chose blue cheese--and it was a great accompaniment. We also had their Spicy Onion Rings as an appetizer before we ordered the wings. The onion itself brings natural sweetness and mild sharpness (especially when hot), while the batter/coating is where the personality lives: savory, slightly salty, and well-seasoned. DD Peckers' spicy onion rings are essentially a classic crispy onion ring elevated with a peppery seasoning--where the heat enhances the onion's natural sweetness rather than overpowering it. They have a great selection of craft beers and ciders and offer a full bar. Most of us had Olde Mecklenburg Brewery Copper, a local Charlotte beer. I had two bottles of Bold Rock Hard Apple Cider, which paired well with both the onion rings and the wings, along with a glass of Olde Mecklenburg Copper in between. Our waitress was attentive, fun, and efficient. She kept everything moving seamlessly, and all of our needs were met exceptionally. We all tipped her well. The food and drink here are quite a bargain--especially considering how iconic this restaurant is and how delicious their wings are. A great night with friends, good drinks, and incredible wings--what could be better?
