We had the most amazing time at Flip Flop ranch. It's off the beaten road but so incredible. Serina makes it a point to breed endangered species and you can tell she loves the animals. We had the best time feeding the pigs, horses, cows and milking goats to then feed baby goats. We also got to see the growing grapes and learn about farm life. Could not recommend more! My 4 and 7 year old girls had the best time. Serina was incredibly gracious and patience letting the girls roam while pointing out things of interest! What a hidden gem read more

I stayed on the farm with my kids and a couple friends with their kids as well a few weeks back. We had a great time! Host Serina was nice and friendly. We had a farm tour during which we had a chance to feed and pet all sorts of animals, milk the goats and hold baby turkeys. Also, we got lucky to watch turkeys hatch! Serina answered all our questions and was helpful throughout our stay. The house they rent out was neat and tidy, spacious, with lots of books and some toys for kids. Plenty of towels for all. We could use kitchen and pretty much anything in the pantry. Had plenty of pots and pans to cook. It's an ultimately quiet and relaxing getaway (except for kids getting wild every now and then). There's not much around, so get your food on the way. It wasn't too hot at end of April, but still hot enough during the day to not want to hang out outside much. We drove to Big Bear for half of the day which wasn't too bad of a drive and gave us some extra stuff to do. We parked our cars right in front of the house and got no peacock scratches on any (we were concerned after reading some previous reviews). But, those peacocks were pretty noisy at night! There was one dog walking around the property but never bothered us. Lots of cats, but they didn't go inside the house and some of them were nice to let our kids pet them all day long. We came here at the beginning of winter break for a day trip farm experience for the kiddies and it was really great! The whole experience was about 2 hours and our ranch hand Deanne was super friendly and great with the kids and animals. All the kids were able to get a turn milking the goats and took pics the animals, it was s very personalized experience. Maxwell even got to feed and walk Freckles. We even got to drink the goat milk that we milked (super delish BTW). We didn't do the overnight stay but saw the house and it's huge and adorable! It's definitely something we'd be interested to do with a bigger party. Serina is also a fantastic host. I can't wait to see all of their plans come to life! read more

Our children (age 3 and 9) absolutely loved meeting and feeding the pigs, horses, cows, sheep and goats. Our tour guide, Serena, was delightful and knowledgeable. My husband and I (at the last-minute) bought tickets for the morning goat-milking and farm tour, as well as the afternoon mozzarella cheese making class with Serina. It was truly a special experience. Serina's family owns the farm, and her knowledge, passion and expertise is rewarding in and of itself. She is super-pleasant, accommodating and happy to take in the experiences with you. It's a welcome change from the hustle and bustle. We got a tour of the immediate property, including time with all of the animals, and were able to feed most of them. We were lucky enough to spend time with baby goats that had been born the afternoon before! And we got a one on one lesson on how to milk the goats; we used that milk in our coffee, that was also served with homemade pie and muffins after the tour. After that, we went through the process of making fresh mozzarella cheese from scratch. I don't think I would have gotten this right on my own, but now I feel confidant I can go home and teach others! We'll be back and we'll be bringing friends! The people running this place are the salt of the earth. Considering how hard it is to run a farm, I'm amazed they have tons of energy left to deal with visiting guests. Our room was clean and the experience was a positive one for my 4 year old, who learned to hold kittens and also feed livestock. This is not a fancy hotel but a very_ basic_ farm with ongoing renovations taking place. Also, there are many small dogs all over the place, including the house. I love dogs so I enjoyed it. The sunsets were amazing and I loved that the 108 degree heat had a positive side to it: no fleas. It's too hot for fleas here. They have a nice saltwater pool to keep cool during the hot day. The fresh raw goat milk was an unexpected delight. I look forward to returning for more visits. read more

First, I want to note. If you are looking for a hotel or resort experience, this is not what this place is. This is a REAL working farm! And a great one at that. I had the privilege of spending a weekend at Flip Flop Ranch. The owners are incredible people and it's clear they are passionate about what they're doing. They truly make you feel like you're part of their farm and family, and go out of the way to make sure that your needs are taken care of. We had a great time touring around the farm, seeing the hatchery, feeding the animals, milking the goats, and finding eggs. We didn't get a chance to try the home-made ice cream, but that sounded like fun too. It's a beautiful property, and a great place to rest, relax, and wind down. What an amazing mini-vacation this was! My family (including our three- and six-year-old kids) spent two nights at the farm, and it was a perfect change of pace. It was so refreshing to hear the boys asking to go outside instead of to play with video games! Everywhere you looked there were kittens, ready to play or have a snuggle, and other baby (and adult) animals were in abundance. I found it particularly therapeutic to cuddle up with the baby goats, who could pass for lap dogs. Each morning and evening we were invited to go on the rounds to help feed the various animals (including goats, sheep, horses, pigs, ducks, turkeys, chickens, geese, cows...I hope I'm not leaving anyone out!) and to help milk the goats and collect eggs from the chickens. We, along with the other guests, were treated to family-style breakfasts and dinners, which included those eggs and freshly made butter. My husband helped dig the new fire pit, and the last night we enjoyed a bonfire while the kids helped turn the crank on the old-school ice cream maker, all under a star-filled sky. Since we were there during a summer heat wave (100+ degree temperatures during the day), we took advantage of things like the swimming pool and the rec room inside the air-conditioned house, which had a pool table, foosball, and air hockey. We will absolutely be returning, and hopefully bringing friends and family with us, as the change of pace and diving headfirst into learning a new lifestyle were a grand adventure that we look forward to sharing with others. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, this is a perfect opportunity to try something new... and who knows, you may find yourself like me, dreaming of having your own little farm someday! read more

This place is awesome! I highly recommend it as a day trip for people with children, especially if you live in the LA area. It was about a two hour drive, and I have a 5 year old and 1 year old, but they hung in there and didn't start to complain until the last 15 minutes of the drive. Once we arrived, it was like being in a different world. We were given a tour of the farm, which in my opinion was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The kids got to meet all of the animals, milk the goats, pet ponies, feed a baby cow, and collect eggs from the chickens. I took lots of pictures and the whole thing was super cute. After the tour, we were invited inside to wash up and change our clothes and were given coffee and a snack. I feel like these ladies went above and beyond to give us a great experience. The whole time, I felt like my children were free and able to roam. It felt safer than walking down a sidewalk in Los Angeles. My friend came with us for a tour and she has a disability and walks with a cane. We were a little nervous that she might not be able to walk around for the entire tour, but honestly, everything on the farm is pretty close together and it wasn't a lot of walking. She was able to participate in everything. We were very pleased. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is worth the drive and you will be happy you visited. The next time you want to branch out and have your children experience something different other than the typical indoor playgrounds and amusement parks, give the Flip Flop Ranch a go. Good places to eat lunch nearby, as well. They also have an AirBnB if you want to stay at the farmhouse, which we might try again at a later date. What a gem this place is! Run by women in flip-flops, this ranch has legitimately earned its name. This is truly a fun place to learn what farm-to-table really is. From the early morning Cockadoodle-Doo, to the sunset fire with S'mores, I learned what working a farm was about. Feeding and watering animals, shearing sheep and prepping the wool, gathering eggs, mucking pens, and milking Midnight the Goat are just a few of the unique-to-the-country chores to participate in. One can also learn how to make cheese from Midnight's milk, weave bracelets from the wool and participate in keeping track of the incubation process for the birds. I was fortunate enough to watch a gosling pip out of her shell (who was properly named "Rosie") and even found a peacock egg in the barn. I've been there many times, so I've experienced bloodhound pups whelped, baby goats born and yes, even experienced the loss of one or two animals. Such is the circle of life on a farm! The guesthouse accommodations are spacious and comfortable, with a full kitchen, full baths, and a lovely view. The ladies are all warm and welcoming, as well as a wealth of knowledge. There's so much more to mention about this ranch that has something for everyone of all ages, so make your reservation today! By the way, it's a great place to bring classrooms to visit on a day trip. I've since moved away, and think about the ranch often. I miss it! read more

Our family had a fabulous time at Flip Flop Ranch in Lucerne Valley, California. My grandchildren, ages 2, 5, and 8, were able to feed the farm animals, hold a one-day-old chick, milk goats, pet the horses and collect eggs to eat for breakfast. We had campfires with s'mores, and made goat cheese and ice cream. There were spectacular sunsets and nighttime stars in this beautiful desert setting, which is surrounded by mountains. We stayed in a house with two large main floor bedrooms and two adequate-sized bedrooms upstairs. The beds are brand new and comfy. We did share bathrooms. We had access to a full kitchen, a dining room that seats about 12 people, a large living room (where the 8 of us hung out), some tables and chairs set up outside and a swimming pool. The owners provide ample and varied foods for breakfast---cereal, donuts, breads, English muffins, bagels, a Keurig coffee machine with a variety of coffee pods, pancake mix and syrup, fresh fruit, butter, and, of course, very fresh eggs. We prepared the breakfast and did the clean-up. We had access to the kitchen for all our meals and used the refrigerator to store the food we purchased for lunch and dinner. There are also some restaurants in town and at the Big Bear resort area. The lodgings are not fancy but were perfect for our needs. This is a working farm, so the surroundings are what you would expect from a farm rather than a 4-star hotel. But the sheets were clean and the kitchen and other rooms were tidy and vacuumed. The owners could not have been kinder or more helpful. Farmer Thomas and Serena were patient with my grandchildren and informative about farming and the animals. Thomas and his friendly wife, Tashelle, live in the house but are unobtrusive. My grandchildren have begged to return next year--they will never forget the horses, baby chicks and their milking of the goats. We all loved the opportunity to be together comfortably and to have the experience of being on a farm. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast-type accommodation, Flip Flop Ranch is not for you. If you are wanting to learn about life on a farm, and you are OK with non-luxurious accommodations and making your own meals and doing clean-up, I highly recommend Flip Flop Ranch. For us city-people, it was a marvelous, enriching and memorable family reunion. read more

I'm very torn on what type of review to write. If you ask my 3.5 yr old son how it was he would tell you he had the time of his life. If you ask me or the other mother's there with their children we would all say "eh not that great". Instead of bemoaning the place I will tell you the positives and the negatives and let you decide yourself. I will give the one caveat that the owners were dealing with a family emergency at the time of our stay, but from reading other reviews it seems like that might not have actually been as big of a factor as we made it out to be. The positives: kids love it. the kids loved running around in open space, seeing the animals through their cages, collecting eggs in the morning and throwing hay into the pens at feeding times. they loved the cats running around and of course the baby goats and baby sheep that they were allowed to hold. the negatives: Poor Communication - even with repeated phone calls and emails weeks prior to our stay, we had NO communication with the owners until the moment we arrived in which we received an email saying that check in was 2 hours after that point. Serina's mother had been in a car accident several days prior to our arrival and while that must be very stressful, it would have been very useful for the guests to be made aware of this in advance and let it be known that there would be no one around to provide activities for us. Speaking to other guests, they also all experienced the same. Disorganized - the entire stay felt quite disorganized. A few simple fixes of a notebook with the farm rules/regulations, etc would be helpful. Also an outline of activities and timings - i.e. we feed the animals at 9 a.m. and 5 pm. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. etc. Also it would be useful for the guests to have access to Serina's mobile phone number in case of emergencies. Not exactly child safe - Lets just say that you do not want your children running around outside without supervision. There is an open barn full of farming equipment as well as a loft above with no gates, guardrails, etc. At one point our children (under supervision) had found nails on the ground and were hammering nails using rocks. Also two boys had found their way up the stairs to the loft and were "exploring" alone up there with who knows what! Lack of activities - Again, like another reviewer mentioned, you are completely on your own after breakfast. The owners left after breakfast and did not come back until after 8pm one day. We were left there to fend for ourselves and to actually welcome other guests and get them settled with no idea where the owners were. they returned and were mad at the WWOOFers who weren't there at the time, but at the end of the day, those are volunteers and you cannot leave your entire farm and homestay business in the hands of young volunteers. We were left with an entire farm full of animals who needed to be fed, as well as a lame horse that needed treatment. We were not given any options to participate in any activities that were outlined on the website which was a major disappointment. My son really wanted to milk a goat and had been told upon our arrival that it would be possible. He left disappointed in that regard. We had been told that we would have a chance to help "work" at the farm as well, but none of that panned out either. Even giving the guests a list of work/activities that needed to be done for the day that they could help with would have been great. Our kids would have loved to muck out the stalls or brush the horses or whatever. Facilities - it is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. the facilities felt quite old and run down to be honest. Even given the discount with a groupon, the rates seem quite high given the state of the facilities. The guest house felt unfinished. There was no hand soap to be found in the entire guesthouse during our stay, we had to rummage around to find extra toilet paper and the fridge was full of food from who knows when! We also had to ask for towels when we couldn't find them and had an old dirty wet towel sitting in our sink bowl for our entire stay. It is not for the delicate I will say! There is an old rundown swing set for children, but it is on it's last leg! There is apparently a pool, but the yard is filled with large (friendly) bloodhounds so it was not accessible to any of us. The guesthouse also had a great grassy backyard that was not accessible due to another bloodhound living there. Serina was a very decent woman who seems very over worked and overwhelmed with all that there is to do. From someone who specializes in organizational development, there is definitely a lot of work that needs to be done. With a few easy fixes this could be a much better experience for guests. this farm and the idea of a guest stay is really great and with some TLC and organizational care, this could be awesome. I would love to be able to go again and have the experience we had hoped for initially. read more

It's not a hotel, it's not a bed and breakfast, it's not a place where people entertain you. It pretty much says that in the email that they sent us the morning before we arrived. So let me tell you what they are: 1) They are located in the Mojave desert. Bring chapstick and forget about trees. It's *hot* and there is very little shade. 2) They do have WWOOFers (look it up). Traveling volunteer farm hands. Essentially drifters. I have no doubt 99% of them are awesome people but these WWOOFers will be staying in the guest house with you and your children. There are no locks on the door between your children and them. The ones that were there when we were there seemed nice but the concept raises the protect-my-kid alarms. 3) There are lots and lots of cats. The kids will love that. There is also a lot of cat poop in the sandy soil in front of the guest house. Your children will be playing in it. ...but, it's the desert so it will be dry. 4) They do give you breakfast...ingredients. You know all those awesome pancakes they show you in the facebook photo album? Yeah. You can make them yourself if you want... after you stir the batter and heat the pan etc. Cereal and fresh eggs are also provided. Keurig machine with k-cups also. Bacon? No. 5) They do have some animals. We got to milk the goats in the morning. By about 10AM all the owners make themselves scarce and you are on your own, All day. All night. Good luck buddy. This was absolutely the worst part. Clueless what we are supposed to do all day. It's a farm, sure, but it's not YOUR farm. What are you supposed to do? Let yourself into the animal cages on your own? Pick the ignition on the tractor and give yourself a hayride? Another thing that happened to our family it we were all jammed into one room on the bottom floor. Granted it was a larger room and there were three beds but this is NOT what we talked about with them on the phone!!! We were told we would have the guest house to ourselves! Anyhow, so we had no separate bedroom for the two kids. After a relatively sleepless night with the kids I really complained and then they offered to let us be in two rooms (as previously agreed). The other room had been empty and locked off that miserable night - blew my mind. We visited in October. Some things they or suggest on their website or other materials: 1) October - they have the yummiest melons known to man! At least that's what their website says. We had no melons and were not invited to see where they grow. 2) October - they have a pumpkin patch! At least the website says so. We were not invited to or involved with any pumpkin patch. Nor were we shown where the patch was (if it indeed existed). I couldn't see it in any case. Perhaps it's a work in progress, perhaps we were there on a bad week. No clue. Sorely disappointed. Owners made no motions to refund money and also weren't curious how we were liking it. Some of the other reviews were written same time we were there. (October). One of the reviews calls out 1 star reviewers (like myself) as ignorant / stupid. Seems to be taking it personally eh? Unsure if they are friends of the owners or what. I would not go back even if offered a free stay. Not worth it. When I take a vacation I want it to be interesting and fun. But 2 hours of interesting on 12 hours of daytime doesn't cut it. Avoid. EDIT: The response from Serina below shows there is yet another unsatisfied customer somewhere else as her description of the family is certainly not us. I do want to emphasize that we were in the same house as the WWOOFers (they were introduced as such and an explanation of their lifestyle followed). In regards to not wanting to be with our kids - of course we do. But our pre-schoolers were quite excited to have us right next to them and weren't really able to get to sleep. We specifically were told they would have their own room so I encourage potential visitors look at the broken commitments. EDIT 2: I see the response from Serina below has been edited to be a more professional. This is why my original edit seems out of context now. That being said this vacation stands as the most miserable we have had. I can only hope that things change here - it would be a shame to see other people toss away their money on this. Google around - there are some great wildlife sanctuaries with good bed and breakfasts nearby - like the wolf sanctuary in Julian. I feel money is better spent with that sort of experience. The bad reviews on this place are ignorant, stupid, and just plain awful. I have been here multiple times with my wife and sons, and it's a great place to stay. The animals are well taken care of, the people are helpful and nice, and the entire ranch is just a great place to unwind. We had a fantastic stay on the ranch. I visited with my 6 and 4 year old daughters, along with a friends who bought her 5 year old twins and 3 year old son. The kids had sooo much fun! The owners were friendly and clearly love kids. I could not believe how much time they took to teach our children and show them around. It was a pretty relaxing weekend for me! Sernia was the greatest host and communication was always open. We felt very welcome and my family is still talking about the amazing time that we had. Great for a huge extended family or large group. The house is huge. It was so nice to be away from a city and get back to a simple way of life for a while. Gravel road, no street lights....serenity. waking up and helping to feed the animals was so much fun. Groceries, small restaurants and the general store was like ten minutes away so it was convenient. The large beautiful blood hounds have full run of the farm and they were very sweet and gentle. They love to follow you around and be petted. So you must be an animal lover. We would definitely do this again. read more

We had a great time at Flip Flop Ranch! We went with a group of 12, including 4 kids aged 2-9, and all had plenty of space. Serina was a great host, easy to reach and communicate with, and happy to answer the millions of questions our kids asked about the animals. She would send us a text every time she was about to feed the animals, twice a day, and ask if anyone wanted to join, which of course all the kids did, every time! They got to help feed goats, sheep, pigs, cows, and horses. And of course we milked the goat, which was also great. Oh- and there are bloodhounds who get out and roam at times! This, at first, scared me and the kids who are a little skittish around dogs, but the dogs were super chill and very friendly. The house was totally functional with lots of communal space where a big group could hang, including a large dining room and living room. It's pretty rustic and a bit worn, but cozy and pleasant. We went in the winter, and though the beds are fully stocked it does get cold at night, especially downstairs, so we were glad we brought an extra blanket as Serina suggested. if I had to find something to pick on it would be the kitchen equipment, which was workable but a bit worn out and in need of some more big pots and bowls for cooking for large groups, and the electrical outlets which are a bit wonky. But we made it work- and there are plenty of plates and bowls- and more importantly- wine glasses and coffee mugs! We did day trips to Joshua Tree, which takes about an hour, but it is a nice drive. Big Bear is also close, but we did not go there. You can also hike straight out into the desert from the farm, it is delightfully secluded. All in all, it was great, you have to keep in mind that it is a working farm, so it will be a little messy and dirty, and there is goat poop and some areas smell like pigs! But that was part of the fun, and it was what we wanted. There is no internet and no TV (I think, we never asked, but did not find a wireless signal), which is kind of great once the initial shock wears off ;) You can be as involved in the farming part as you want, we never saw our hosts except for at feeding time, but they were always reachable. We had a group of 12 adults and 5 children there for the new year holiday. Liked there! Here is my sincere view from my experience: 1. The owner is very friendly and easy to contact from airbnb and phone. She also very respected our own time and leave us undisturbed all the time. 2. The house is spacious. The large living room and long dinner table are perfect for family time. We had 5 families. At night we had dinner together and talks , while kids are doing their own games or reading in the living room. Everyone enjoyed it. There are only two bathrooms and that's a little inconvenience but understandable. For over 10 people the house is a little bit overburdened. 3. I would suggest the kitchen can be more equipped, with more pots and paper towel. They have bowls and plates, but when we were there, we found only a little dish soap left. 4. The last morning, Serbia invited us to feed animals and milk goat. That basically excited all the children, actually even adults. The little pigs are so adorable and the cat house basically draws lots of attention. This is a nice place for family and mountain travelers. I would recommend a lot. read more

We had a fantastic trip, just what we needed and just what we expected. It was great to be disconnected for a few days and the house was nice and cool during the summer. We did a day trip to Big Bear on a hot day after the morning feeding which was only 30 minutes away. Really enjoyed feeding the animals and milking Midnight, nothing beats fresh eggs and milk in the morning. Serina was an excellent hostess and teacher. My kids learned a lot from her. She is so much more than a farmer, keep up the great work! read more

I totally agree with the lady from Arizona!! Breakfast and dinner was terrible. The do NOT have the people or the kitchen necessary to feed 15-20 so people breakfast or dinner. The worst part is the meat thawing on the counter was there before I went to bed and still there the next morning. I am so afraid the conditions are so unsanitary that I only hope someone doesn't get sick. This is trying to pass as a farm experience. This is not how a typical farm is ran. The buildings are in bad condition. On their website it looks like a delightful place to come visit. This is far from the reality. Dining outside with no fly control, i think the fly probably have visited the dead goose hanging in the chicken coop before hanging out on the food being served at dinner. I would NEVER return or suggest anyone I know to go. I just couldn't believe I was suckered in from Living Social and actually paid for this. read more

I would say this was probably the most disappointing place in regards to service and some other things. I was a guest and the ceremony went well. However with booking the wedding there you have access to a house next to the wedding area for the night before and the night of the wedding. The first night after the rehearsal we were not allowed to drink the alcohol we had brought without having a bartender present. Even with us staying in the house. Then we stood there and talked in darkness because they refused to turn the string lights on. According to them it was because they did not have an event permit for the night, but they are string lights, we are in the middle of the desert and it is also a residence. Ridiculous. Then during the reception they had kids of their own there running in out of the house where our belongings were and eating food we had in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure the bride did not pay to have your kids present at her wedding. Most people know that during the reception the bride and groom do their dance eat mingle with everyone who came to celebrate and then will go dance the night away and enjoy drinks with their guests. Not here folks! The bride and groom did NOT minus the money dance get to dance or enjoy drinks because at 930 they started putting everything away. Locking up all the alcohol, closing the bar, taking tables down etc. pretty much pushing the guests to leave. And when the bride asked about them putting the bar away so early they were rather rude and made the comment people have to drive home. Most people have a DD and that should not be your choice to make. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I just hope the bride and groom at least enjoyed what they were able to. Because this was their day. Their moments. They looked forward to this for months.Your service was terrible. You need to re-evaluate your business. I just returned from a weekend at the farm and I was blown away by the family's generosity, humility and overall decent human being-ness. If you take time to strike up any sort of conversation with them, you would say the same. It was enlightening to learn so much about the animals, farming, organic processes and just to hear about their experience as they develop the farm. They are passionate about helping the community and eager to share their knowledge. The animals were healthy and it was obvious that they are well cared for. Their roosters are gorgeous! And I love that they are working to save endangered breeds of animals. The babydoll sheep are especially adorable, and the goats are really sweet. Cinnamon was the star of the show. The family continues to make improvements on the property and have big dreams for expanding. We got to tag along as they fed the animals; we helped milk the goats and even got to catch chickens and help transfer them to other pens. Sure, it was a no-frills lodging experience (we cooked our own food, fyi), but the family's open and caring attitude made it more than worthwhile. And the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. If you make it out to this ranch and come ready to learn, you will find your mind and heart expanded by the end of your stay! read more

Great experience for young/older kids and adults alike. Get your hands dirty and learn what hard work farmers go through day to day. My kids had so much fun and would run out the door to catch Serina for feeding time, fetching the wheelbarrow and hay for horses, cows and goats. Little ones can scoop feed for the pigs and everyone can milk Midnight the goat for fresh milk to feed the kittens. The kitten coop was an interactive playground for our own kids to play in! Met the the rooster, mama pig and her piglets, polish crazy hairdo chicks, cottonpatch geese and young, Bologne the pony, and such sweet bloodhounds! The kids had fun roasting marshmallows at the campfire for smores. While the house is undergoing improvement, our group wasn't expecting 4 star accommodations. It's a farm. We had what we needed - AC, hot water, fresh towels and clean linens. We were able to prepare hot meals and Serina was very accommodating in providing what the house might not have from her own house. Some of our friends took a short trip to Big Bear for a few hrs since since it was a close drive. We got away from busy city life and TV (!) and left with precious memories with friends and family! We didn't know what were getting into with a stay at a real working farm, but it was a wonderful experience that we won't soon forget. I can't say enough about how much we loved it! Serina's love for the farm and the animals there is contagious. My kids (6 & 3) helped her feed and groom the animals twice a day and looked forward to each time she texted that it was feeding time. She was always available to answer any questions we had during our stay. Even before we arrived, Serina let me know that the house is being renovated but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. read more

I was not impressed. I called to get some information before buying a living social voucher. I was told that my family wouldn't fit the deal offerred and they talked me into paying for a deal that was supposed to be identical to the living social deal that included breakfast and dinner. It did not include dinner and the breakfast was not good. We were given a room large room with no lock on the door. We didn't see any dish soap anywhere. I got ill when I smelled and saw the undercooked bacon , overcooked eggs, cold pancakes and water served in Mason jars. The animals were not accessable to the kids except for the barn cats that were everywhere. The pool was beautiful but the jaccuzzi was cold and when swimming in the evening you had to dodge bats. A farm is not an accurate description. There were several buildings, most in need of repair and with peeling paint. The one man seemed to do all of the work associated with animals and planting. I have owned small acerage and allowed my children to have animals. They did a better job caring for them and were more sanitary. These animals were all fairly young and housed together inside chain link. This is in the middle of nowhere, forty miles from civilization. I would not return under any circumstances. read more

Ordered goslings from her at an outrageous price in 2012 but no goslings came. I was promised them in 2013 after insisting on a refund, which never came. In 2013 my goslings never came. Now I received 5 males when I ordered 6, 3 males, 3 females. Of course Serina will not return my phone calls or my emails. Going to report this farm as this is fraud. read more
