Mashed cauliflower, kale, and creole tofu

I am not a vegan but I enjoy coming to the lakeside cafe because occasionally I only want to eat veggies. The food is also better than the other cafeteria in the hospital. I also like to work at the cafe with my laptop sometimes. You can sit outside or inside. They are currently doing construction so the view isn't that great right now. It's not as packed either. I ordered the creole tofu, mashed cauliflower and kale. I loved the creole tofu. The tofu was over cooked but the seasoning and sauce was tasty. Mashed cauliflower was ok. Lacked flavor. Kale was good. I felt like the portion was decent for me. My favorite hospital cafe!

Check out this hefty portion of food. It has to weigh like 2 pounds - all for $8 bucks, including a bottled water. For realz!

Sup my Yelper peeps!! I had lunch at the Florida Hospital Lakeside Cafe and I must say it's by far one of the much better hospital cafeteria food places I've been to. It's located just passed the main entrance welcoming desk (just off of the left side). It's sits just below the main floor toward the back. As you walk down the stairs you'll automatically notice it faces the lake which offers a great view to take in as you're having lunch,l. Whether you decide to sit inside or out you Sanjay the scenery. The food?? Great question! Perrty darn good! I went with the Asian special which offered Kung Pao chicken, fried rice, vege dumplings, and mushrooms. And a hefty portion of food for $8 bucks, and it came with a bottled water! I enjoyed the mushrooms and the dumplings the most. The chicken had a bit of a curry flavor. It was good just not my fav for the day. They have a decent selection of food from salads, pizzas, smoothies, and drinks. No sofa, this is a health spot. So if you're ever in Florida Hospital (hopefully not for anything serious) and your hungry, give this place a chance. You'll be impressed... That's it for now peeps! Hopefully this helps you decide on your next meal. Hit me up and let me know how your experience went. Peace out...

4 Stars for better than average hospital food, and seating with a view you can't beat. This is definitely the cafe that the doctors go to at FL Hospital. From its plethora of vegetarian options to its view of Lake Estelle, this place is a bit of an oasis where the only reminder that you're in a hospital are the folks wearing scrubs around you. Right when you walk into the cafeteria portion (after descending down some stairs from the main level of the hospital) you will encounter a line to have a wrap or sandwich built for you. The signage isn't very clear as to what each line is actually for (my only real complaint), and there's another line for getting a hot meal. Then there's the soup area where you can pour your own chili or soup into a container, but as soon as you want to add broccoli or a sweet potato you presumably have to get to the back of the hot good line to ask them to scoop it into a container for you. It's off because this section seems like a serve-yourself section (separate from the hot meal line) but you're not actually able to access the veggies yourself. Suffice it to say, it's a bit confusing so I usually forgo the veggies and just get my quick bean chili. But any frustration fades away as soon as you walk towards the seating options. There are high top tables inside where you can gaze out to the lake as well as an outdoor terrace with seating for those who need to get out of the sterile AC and lose themselves in nature. Them's some good options, either way.

It does have really good food, which is kind of the point. There is basically no parking and hard to get into the teeny lot. We tried the spring rolls. This was a 8/10. It's good and I really liked the way they used tofu to imitate what would have been the meat in a spring roll. We also tried the shrimp cha cha and added the tempura mushroom. This was a 8.5/10. Super flavorful and crispy and it is a lot of food for what you pay. That being said, they added a $3 uncharge since I added the mushroom. We also tried the taro milk tea, which was very sweet and flavorful but not overly sugary. This was a 9/10 and honestly surprised me. Love ya, Loving Hut. Thanks for helping to make Orlando what it is.

Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I ordered the Tofu Spicy Cha Cha. The breading was super thick, but the bites were plentiful and tasty. I didn't eat the rice since there was so much breading on the tofu. The veggies were primarily red and green peppers, with some broccoli thrown in. I would have liked a lot of broccoli. The biggest disappointment was the lack of spicy heat, considering it was called Spicy. It came with a tiny bit of what seemed to be a Sweet Thai Chili sauce, but it was not spicy. A friend ordered the Drumsticks. It also came with rice, which was also plentiful and looked delish. The veggies were squash, carrots, broccoli, etc, and were plentiful and tasty. Friend did not care for the drumsticks however, as they weren't what she was expecting, rather just cuts of some type of protein in a thick brown sauce that was not what she thought it would be. Overall, the food was good, and I'd go back, but would order something better and be sure to ask for more spice.

I bought 3 chicken tacos (about 12 dollars), then sat in an empty table to wait. It was ready for me in under 10 minutes. The tacos were small, but they had a good amount of chicken, cheese, onions, tomato, and cilantro. A choice of sauce was included, and I took the hot red sauce. The sauce was small, but still ample enough to pour over the three tacos. The flavors were pretty good (thanks to the heat from the sauce) and it was filling enough for me, though the flour tortillas was a bit too hard for me. The service was pretty good, though I ordered from the kiosk and I picked up my order after they called my name. However, they did check up on me, as well a provided water to cops, and removed empty items from the tables. The staff were quite friendly. The dining area was small and a bit boring. There were 2TVs showing ads for their products, and 1 displaying a horse race. The restaurant was quite cramped, and I was thankful to find a table. It's located in downtown, so parking will be either in a meter or a garage. This restaurant serves pretty good tacos at a reasonable price, but the atmosphere was a bit bland for a taqueria. It was also small and can get crowded and full easily. Best to have this to go or delivered. It's still a nice restaurant for tacos in downtown.
