They currently operate out of a pick up kitchen while they work on an opening a storefront in PB, and the service is always great and everyone is so sweet. The owners, Lada and Alex, are amazing chefs dedicated to the craft and quality. I've never had a bad one, but the Brown Butter is definitely my favorite. The flavors are always balanced and never too sweet. I also personally love the texture and I'm not a fan of crusts in general, but if creamy custardy cakes without a crust aren't your jam, then the Burnt Basque cheesecake isn't for you and you should try their Madrid Cheesecakes which are also amazing ;) I'm excited to see what they come up with next! read more

I never write reviews but I've been completely blown away by these cheesecakes and the business! Such a fan! I recommend to anyone who will listen! I love the care and attention that goes into each of these speciality basque cheesecakes. It's so worth it! I'm typically a traditionalist and stick to original but with these cheesecakes I've been working through trying ALL the flavors! And each time I feel I've found a new favorite. Ordered the basque Biscoff cheesecake here and I enjoyed it! Kept seeing this place all over social media so had to try it. A small is $30 so it's pretty pricey and not sure if I'd spend that much again, but it was worth a try for sure. This is located in like a food hall type of place so when you arrive, you just call to pick up your order that you placed online the day prior. Sadly when my husband dropped me off to pick up the cake, he went into the public driveway directly next to it and the owner of OnPoint Collisions yelled at us. When he asked us to leave the driveway which my husband was going to do by u turning, the owner yelled and said we are not allowed to make a u turn as we would damage his property. Might I add that we safely made a u turn out without damaging any property--after all, we wanted to safely get back onto the busy street facing forward rather than backing up into it like the owner was rudely demanding we would do. Anyways, just beware of the owner next door to this bakery pick up place if you happen to get cheesecake here and have no place to stop your car other than the open long alleyway by his shop. Instagram got me with this impulse buy. I visit San Diego a couple times per year, and each time this local baker's sponsored posts hit my feed. I ordered the 4-pack minis (4" rounds) for $100. This is a pre-order, pick up only establishment. I ordered online and picked up the next day. So make sure your timing works out for your needs. These cheesecakes definitely lived up to my expectations. I chose ube, pistachio, black sesame and Biscoff. They were all super creamy just as advertised. Most cheesecakes are dense and heavy, but not Muse's. The cheesecakes are not very sweet, and the flavors were more on the subtle side. They are rich, so it really doesn't take much to feel satisfied. I wish they shipped, but I know not all food items are good for that. I ordered my cheesecake 2 days in advance. I got the original basque cheesecake. You can add chocolate sauce and berries, but I decided not to on my first time. Pick up was at a commercial kitchen. I dm'ed them on Instagram telling them I arrived, and the cheesecake came out shortly after. They even provided forks, a knife, and some plates for us to eat off of. The texture of this cheesecake is something else. The insides melt out like nectar as you remove the first slice, more liquid than solid. The taste is remarkable. During my visit to SD this "bakery" kept coming up on my IG so I decided to try it although there was not much information about this place online other than two or three Influencers saying how great the cheesecake is. To my surprise this is no bakery you can simply Walk into its in a seedy area of SD like a warehouse area with sketchy people hanging out in front. There's a small Sign that reads MUSE, once inside the location it's a dirty all white room with overflowing trash cans and several security cameras and double doors that lead to an industrial type kitchen with no staff around. Weird. 0/10. After visiting I saw a comment online saying they are pickup order only. But even still the place where I would have to get my cakes is not welcoming or clean. I didn't even take photos due to two people standing in front of this place smoking a cigarettes and I didn't want them to think I was taking photos of them. read more
