The ingredients for #1 were great, and they gave a good amount of meat/cheese. But the bread ruined the whole sandwich for me. It was so tough and chewy that my jaw hurt after a while. The #6 was basic and didn't have that much meat in it. I feel like I probably could have just gone to Shop Rite for this one to buy ingredients myself to make a better/cheaper sandwich. I'm sure they get their bread fresh but the consistency of it was just not for me.

The look , feel & smell of it immediately brought me back to my cherished Jersey City roots. Everything on display looked fresh & inviting. The guy behind the counter (damn I don't recall his name) was super friendly & helpful in assisting me with my choices. Ordered the Godfather Sammy, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes & pulpo salad. Everything was delicious ! I travel will be back to NJ several times a year but I think I found my new "Go to spot" ! It tasted meh. The only thing I was happy with are the prepackaged taralli. They were imported and were lovely. Go there for the prepackaged imported food products. We're so glad we did, because this hole in the wall turned out to be a diamond in the rough. With a nondescript exterior and limited signage, Foodies Diner is easy to miss. It's in an area with mainly houses and mixed use commercial buildings, but the space inside is cozy. I especially appreciated the way the owner greeted everyone who enters and thanked everyone who leaves with notable warmth and small-town friendliness. The menu reads like a true diner - with all-day breakfast and brunch options, as well as standard lunch fare. We ordered a Santa Fe salad and an L.A. burger - which comes with avocado, bacon, onion, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burger was pretty standard, but having it delivered on a warm brioche bun feels a little bit special. The accompanying fries were also great - crisp and potatoey on the inside. The salad, on the other hand, was a near triumph. Served on a large platter, there was a small field of well-seasoned chicken, shredded cheddar, vegetables, avocado, pico de gallo, and - best yet - some pieces of warm, toasted pita. I even sprinkled some pieces of bacon from my burger into this salad, and wow did that take it over the top. I dug into this salad with fair gusto and would absolutely come back for it...which is saying something, since I wouldn't expect to fall in love with a salad at a diner. Service was fantastic, and we were pleased with how reasonably priced our meal turned out to be. There's plenty of parking - either right out front or in the lot further back.
