Excellent Brazilian churrascaria (steakhouse). Fogo is one that started in Brazil so you know it's authentic! There's not much here that can be improved. Very good variety of steaks, excellent quality of meats, great salad and food bar, very helpful and friendly staff. Be sure to get rice and beans from the food bar to complete the authentic churrascaria experience. I like to out farofa (the toasted sawdust looking stuff) on top of my rice and beans. I've been to Brazilian steakhouses in Brazil and in the US, this is one of the very best. Tip - Picanha is the tastiest cut. I prefer it simple, just the standard (without garlic). My only complaint from our most recent visit is that the meats were not adequately seasoned with salt before being served - both my wife and me found this to be the case. read more

Good experience with family overall. It's very loud though so it's hard to chat with family. The waitress' service was quick and friendly. She struggled to hear us quite a bit though. They had a $39 meal deal but we were told it didn't include quite a bit of meat so we opted for the $62 normal option (although we regret changing because you have to really request the extras meats if they aren't actively bringing them out). They immediately started bringing meat options to the table, most were well done or raw to begin with. We had to request for filet and lamb, and for meat that was cooked medium, which they did end up bringing. The table sides weren't enjoyed, with cold mashed potatoes, crunchy cheese bread, polenta, and fried bananas. The buffet table consisted of a great salad bar with lots of hummus, cheese, olives, and interesting dishes as well (this was one of the best parts!) They currently have a fruit fly issue!!! I came here with my in-laws for a celebration and was very disappointed. I've been to Fogo De Chao several times before but today was awful. The food was ok, the servers were not friendly, ladies restroom was not clean and bring a fly swatter with you if you plan on coming to this location. A fruit fly flew into my wine glass and instead of replacing my wine glass with the same exact wine that I ordered, the server gave me a different wine and said it was his favorite. Are you too cheap to open another bottle and give me the same type of wine I ordered? Mind you we ordered a bottle with our dinner. I would suggest going to Texas De Brazil for 1/2 the price and same meats. Nothing special going on here at Fogo De Chao in Addison. read more

This might have been the best meal I've ever had. I was definitely the best service I've ever had. Plenty of free parking in the back. Clean and classy inside. Workers actually smiling which you never seen at most places at around 7pm. Also, props to the guy that was picking up dishes from a couple tables and carried everything with one hand. That might have been more impressive than the food and service. I really liked the salad bar and found out they had a lunch special for salad bar only for $15. Thats an amazing deal even with no meats. Too bad they do have a salad bar + bacon wrapped chicken medallions. The chicken medallions are the best part of the dinner. Our party of two arrived a little before 1. This was our first time going here- we had a reservation. They asked if this was our first time and we said yes. The server simply said we could get stuff from the salad bar and meat options that are circulated. Our waitress wasn't very helpful and took a lot of time between drinks, giving her our gift card, and returning to cash out. She kept the gift card after we paid which caused us to have to wait about an extra 10 minutes for her to come back around and return it. The brunch was not explained to us- we were unaware of the brunch area with waffles and omelets. We felt like we spent money but didn't get the full experience because no one told us about the additional items included in the price we paid. Sadly, I have no idea how this place has 4 starts. The food is terrible. Meat is dry, tough and doesn't have much flavor. "Hot sides" are terrible- I don't even think the mash potatoes are made from real potatoes. They advertise a bunch of meats but served no fillet minion (first meat advertised) and didn't serve many of the other listed meats- all while trying to get you to buy their "top" quality steaks (that run $125-135). As always the food does not disappoint here. The challenge on this visit (New Years Eve) was the service. It appeared to me that someone or maybe a couple of people called in sick as the service was just not the quality we had before. There were managers helping so serve the meats and clean tables. I wish I would have gotten the Manager's name that came to my rescue as I had asked for a particular cut of meat 5 times and still didn't have it. He was kind enough to go cook a fresh steak and gave me the first pieces of that. I will say that the Ribeye and Filet were the stars of the show, so tender and full of flavor. Called today at 6:00pm to get pricing on a Tomahawk since my wife and I weren't hungry enough for the all you can eat, the lady told me the price for a single order 16 ounce "tomahawk" is $53 dollars and could be shared between my wife and I... called 10 minutes later for a reservation, spoke to the manager and asked him to verify the price of the 16oz tomahawk, and he said it was $90+ and that the lady I spoke to (his employee) didn't know what she was talking about... and that they haven't had a 16oz in over a year and that they don't offer "cheap options" as if he was assuming that I couldn't afford more not just that I wanted the experience of Fogo without the over-eating... This was all after making making plans with my wife. Was this Bait and switch or discord between staff? I don't know but it was bad customer service and embarrassing. This place is not in Ohio..we were lookinh for brazillian steakhouses and opted out of Texas de brazil since we have that back home. Service was excellent..greeted warmly, no wait on a Tuesday night at 8pm. The servers pull the chairs out for you and very prompt and attentive! Very large salad bar. Tons of items. The meat was excellent. Served with unlimited mashed potatoes and sweet plantains. Yum! They also offer brazilian lemonade. It was amazing!! Next stop in Texas I will definitley be back! read more

Made reservations for. Saturday night at 8:30 pm. We got there and the entry area was a sea of humanity. The bar was packed as well. When we finally made our way to the hostess stand, and waited another 5 minutes for her to get off the phone, we were told that they were running late and that we were looking at least at an hour and half wait. I don't know about y'all, but unless I'm in Spain or South America, the thought of eating a heavy meat filled meal beginning at 10 pm, is quite unappealing. We said no thank you, left and went over to Thai Star, where we were promptly seated and had an excellent meal, with great service at a reasonable hour. The seating is a little close, but once the food comes around you'll soon forget about spacing. Just flip your Fogo coaster to green and watch the meat come. STEAK, RIBS, SAUSAGE, CHICKEN, filet mignon, garlic chicken, etc. They serve about 10 more types of meats. The salad bar is always great, but don't let the rare items distract you from the main course. It's not everyday you see 80 lbs of Parmigiano-Reggiano wheel cheese, or Italy's finnest pancetta. The cheese cost abt $ 3,000 on the high side. The pancetta is an Italian bacon made of pork belly meat that is salt cured and spiced with black pepper. It's delicious, so please stay away. Don't return from the bar with a ceaser salad, black beans, potato salad and soup. You'll be stuffed before the Pearl Harbor of meats begin. Fogo will also serve warm gluten free cheese bread, garlic mashed potatoes, crispy hot polenta, and caramelized bananas. The carmelized bananas are imported from another world. Just eat it! The drinks are all hand poured over ice with a smile. Try the lemonade, it's creamy. FOGO will offer 2-3 soups close by the bar. Pickeled items, garlics, peppers, provolone cheese, chicken salad, leafy salads, ripest nutrient -dense fruits and vegetables of the season. Hearts of palm, giant asparagus, fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, fresh cut and steamed broccoli, marinated artichoke bottoms, tabbouleh, smoked salmon, an assortment of fine cheeses, and much more. Y'all don't look here unless u want to have a stressed out evening with horrible service and non existent food. We went apparently according to the manager the wrong night cause they had prom and they didn't have enough servers to the accommodate their tables. The guy who was assigned to our table was so rude and bossy. There was no water on the table we had to ask for water a couple times. We had asked for just 2 beers it literally took 4 requests from 3 different servers to get them to bring it. And at one point we just went to the bar to put in the request ourselves. Another person at our table asked many many times for the cheese bread IT CAME WITH OUR DESSERTS! Yes at the end the bread came. Let's talk about dessert... the desserts were actually real good however the coffee was super cold and like tar to the point the party behind our table came over asked how our coffee was cause they didn't give get their coffee. Word to wise skip it...if u want Brazilian there's another one on the other side and a bunch in Frisco. This was quite embarrassing night for the restaurant, the non existent wait staff and management who didn't give a lick. What he failed to mention was the cost of $135. Would not have said yes if we'd knew the additional cost. So a meal for 3 that I expected to be around $225 turned in to a $460 bill! I called and a very professional woman named Andrea issued a credit for the difference between 3 full experience meals and 3 salad bars, about $75. First time here / never been to the other main option in town either (texas de Brazil), but I can say I was extremely satisfied for my experience on a cold Friday night at 7:30. Now the parking lot is ridiculously crowded with Olive Garden and Tokyo one next door, so that sucked, but once we got a spot and got inside, there was maybe a 5 minute or less wait. We were promptly greeted and explained the process by our server, he got our drinks and some bread and we were off. They have a self service salad bar and side dish bar in the middle of the restaurant. Now I don't like salad very much but there ceaser with a side of bacon was excellent. Also great mashed potatoes that they bring to the table. As soon as I flip over the green card that they gave us each (green means go, red means no), guys with tons of different types of meats / chicken / lamb come your way and cut your meat off at the table. They come so fast and often, had to flip it over to red to get my food straight. I think the bottom sirloin was my favorite. Ok I've been to multiple steak houses all over the place and didn't know there were different kinds of sirloin. Anyways overall the meal was good. It's about $50 for dinner, set price. I liked it but I definitely like traditional steakhouses at that price point. I was torn between a 3 and a 4, but the speed of service gave them the nod. read more

My son and I went on Memorial Day. He had just gotten home from boot camp and basic training. We were looking forward to a nice lunch here. We were so disappointed. The place is no where near where it used to be. For the price we paid, even with military discount, the food was not good. I could have done a better job just throwing some steaks on the grill for a fraction of the cost. The steaks were bland, tasted more oven baked than grilled with hardly any salt. There was no grilled taste at all. The place looked more drappy I remembered it. For the price of the buffet, you'd expect a nicer ambiance. Service was ok, not great for a place that charges so much. Servers looked unkept- messy appearance. Nothing was on par for the price. The manager came by and asked how we are doing. I explained that the meats didn't taste grilled, that it had more of oven roasted taste. He said they do grill the meat. Never again. Cooking at home would've been much better- and I'm not even a great cook. Or even going around the corner at our neighborhood would have been much better. It's as if they didn't really try or care. Decided to take my daughter here for getting great grades this semester. Originally we were going to go to the one at Legacy but after reading reviews about that location we decided to go to the Addison location instead. Ended up being Xmas Eve. Sooooo happy we choose this location!!! Every single staff we encountered were kind and professional. From the greeting to the wait staff and servers. Everything was constantly available and staff made sure we had everything we needed. They even asked if there was anything we specifically wanted to try and had the Gauchos come over to our table. They were all very friendly. The food was amazing!! The meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also had dessert ( tres leches, Key lime pie, and crème brûlée) everything was superb. We tapped out after about an hour and a half. Also, we were seated right away upon entering the restaurant. Definitely gets five stars and the only thing I would've changed was knowing that there was an up charge for brunch on Christmas Eve. I totally didn't realize that but that's minor and five stars is still definitely well deserved for the great staff, service and food. We will definitely be back. read more

Arriving in the Dallas area, I did my research on where to eat for dinner. Fogo de Chao ranked high on yelp, and I had three hungry men with me. After a bit of confusion on what time they opened (whoever answered the phone gave us the wrong time), we finally arrived early enough to not need reservations on a Saturday evening. The staff are quick to get you started. A bit pushy on the beverages, they offered 'the best' mojito at $8.75 a piece. (It was good, but far from the best!) They also load up your table with various side dishes that include warm cheese bread, fried bananas, crispy hot polenta, and seasoned mashed potatoes. The guys in my group loved loved loved the warm cheese bread, stuffing themselves silly on this flavorful goodness. And the waiters were always sure to bring out warm ones too! I was stuck on the polenta - pretty fabulous stuff! Sprinkled with cheese, I couldn't stop eating it. And of course, the waiters made sure my table had plenty. The fried bananas were a big hit too. It's easy to get distracted with the side dishes.
