I have quite a few other reviews of Fogo/Brazilian so if you are unfamiliar with the concept you can check them out. I just want to write a few notes about this specific location. The Dallas Fogo has some of the best service of any Fogo or Brazilian BBQ place. PERIOD. I go 3-4 times a year to this location and every time the meat comes to the table steaming and I literally have to flip my card to avoid being buried alive behind a wall of picanha. You usually have to ask for the beef rib, but when you do they give you a 5lb piece so thats fine with me. Complimentary Valet- sure the parking lot is only 200 feet away, but after eating at Fogo 200 feet transforms into 200 miles. Never Busy-- I always make reservations but you never need them- due to the sheer number of restaurants in the vicinity. Also, I was just there this weekend- I don't know if this is a nation wide trend- but they now have scalloped potatoes and they are gooooooooooooood. read more

I was in Dallas on a business trip last week & the first night we went to Fogo de Chao. This was carefully planned because we'd be traveling all day with minimal food, and there's no point going to a Brazilian steakhouse unless you're hungry because it's all you can eat. If you haven't done it yet, here's the way to do it right. Step 1: Go hungry. Very, very, hungry. Step 2: Don't load up at the really good salad bar. I saw one woman leave the salad bar with two slices of cucumber or an otherwise empty plate. She knew what she was doing. Step 3: Try everything at least once, then get picky. Step 4: Pick & choose, eat slowly, and don't leave room for dessert. After we had tried everything once or maybe twice, we were only going for the beef. The restaurant is in Addison, in an area where there are a ton of restaurants. We were in downtown Dallas, so it was a half hour through rush hour to get there and longer to get back because we got lost. It was worth it. It's not cheap but it's really not all that outrageous if you're hungry. There's no specific dress code and there were business people as well as families. It's for just about everyone who eats meat, though restless young kids might do better at home. Service was really good. There's a pool of people to take care of you and someone is always nearby to get you whatever you need. read more

When you consider what Fogo de Chao really is-- an Bacchanalian meat buffet-- you have to give it props for so cleverly disguising itself as a swank, seen-and-be-seen establishment. I see it like this: If $50 is a reasonable price to pay for a trip to an amusement park, then Fogo de Chao certainly holds its own as the amusement park of meat (endorphins, thrills, sweats & all.) But what really gets me about FdC... is that everything is divine. Take the salad bar, which is very often overlooked & undervalued. There are imported, aged cheeses, artisan breads, rare cured meats, fresh vegetables, gourmet salads- all combined, the salad bar would make the perfect antipasti plate. I'd pay $30 to feast on the salad bar alone. However, the meat is also top notch. Everything is grilled, charred, roasted, turned & seasoned to juicy, sizzly perfection. This is the only place in the world where I'll discount the idea of endlessly stuffing myself with filet mignon (in an effort to "win" against the buffet) and have a piece of (expertly marinated & grilled, bacon-wrapped) chicken. The hot side dishes are also worth their weight. The pao de queijo (cheese bread) are hot airy puffs of sustenance and happiness, and marry well with huge mouthfuls of caramelized bananas, seasoned mashed potatoes, and fried polenta. In terms of ambiance, FdC really sells itself as a warm and welcoming establishment. The gauchos present a cool, kitschy flair, and it doesn't hurt that all of them are super nice & not judgemental of the fact that you're spending an inordinate amount of money to stuff your face with meat. And that you've probably skipped about 3 meals in advance to maximize stomach space for the experience. But the greatest thing about FdC is how it makes you feel afterwards. And that is, you leave feeling not that bad at all. I've heard that if you ingest high quality meat, it sits very lightly in your stomach. All in all, I probably packed away ~1.5 lbs of meat, 13 pão de queijo and 8 caramelized bananas... and left feeling satisfied and happy, rather than thinking I was about to die. I remember a young wide-eyed lad who came to the big city from Choctaw, Ok. He couldn't believe the things living in town introduced him to-places that had 18 different picture show screens in one building, places where women danced nekkid, and all kinds of restaurants. Now, back home a steakhouse meant Sizzler or Golden Corral. Not here. A friend tool me to the most wondrous place I had even seen. Fogo de Chao. It's called a Brazilian Steakhouse but is unlike anywhere I had ever seen. It is like Golden Corral in that you get all you can get-but the similarities end there. They actually serve food you will want to eat! They had beef(Filet Mignon,top sirloin,rib eye, ribs), bacon wrapped chicken, lamb(chops and leg), pork(sausage and a Parmesan tenderloin). Everything was so flavorful and well prepared. It was even cut at your table by guys wearing funny pants! I kept fearing they would cut me off-I was becoming so meat drunk- but they didn't seem to care. My friend reminded me that they had a salad bar- and while I did enjoy the salmon,asapragus, and mushrooms they couldn't hold a candle to the carnivore fantasy I was experiencing! Every aspect of my first visit was wonderful-service,food,presentation, the decor. All was top notch. This is still one of my favorite places-and will always rank highly with this meat and potatoes(hold the potatoes) guy. read more

Wow, I've been here several times in the past few years and every time I walk out, I tell myself, "I'm never coming back!" But I always do. Fogo de Chao is worth the money. The meat they serve you is probably worth more than what you pay.. so I'm down for it. If you have high cholesterol and heart disease.. and want to die early? I would say come here. At least you'll die happily. :) Vegetarians would HATE this place because it's alllll meat. Even if you go in just for the salad bar, you can smell the delicious aroma floating in the air. The smell itself would make you drool. One of my favorite treats here has to be the bread rolls! They bake it with parmesan cheese inside, so it melts while the bread bakes.. it's so orgasmic. If you want to get laid, I would not recommend this restaurant because you'd be too wiped out from eating to do anything. ^^; Just a heads up. LOL read more

My buddy took me here because his Dad was visiting from out of town. It was my first dining experience where large foreign men were walking around me with swords full of meat! At first I was scared, and then I realized they were here to serve me......can you say AWESOME??!! For real though, I wish this place was cheaper so I could come here all the time. It's a perfect place to go to after a work out if you want a protein fix, I would seriously be here every day. It would also be pretty sweet to come here if you have the munchies. But whatever the case, this place serves some mean meat! They are most famous for their Picanha (Top sirloin), I get hungry thinking about it, it is so tender. Their Filet Mignon is fantastic, I'm not so much a fan of the one that's covered in bacon though, I feel like it takes away from the Filet too much. Yes, the salad bar is great. They serve some random stuff that you usually won't find in other salad bars. The one that sticks in my mind is the Heart of Palm. I just went on Fogo's website, and they actually call it Brazilian Heart of Palm. Anywho, don't get too full off the salad, it's easy to get carried away. Save your apetite for the meat, because you're going to need it. Yes, the cheese bread is addicting, again though... don't get too full!!!! Service, yes it's great. There's always a friendly dude asking if you want to try his meat (no pun intended). And if he doesn't have what you want, you can tell him you want to try his buddy's meat. (If you want to swing that way). And word of advice, you can try very little meat from each guy. You don't have to get the full serving if you feel like you're gonna get full quick. read more

Pretty unfortunate that the staff are gravely mistaken about the Facebook offer floating around. I called in before we came to make sure of the rules of the offer. The offer guaranteed $25 gift card per person, but had a two person limit per table. So I called in and asked if our table of 4 could use the offer if we just simply split the check. The lady informed me that as long as the checks were split all four of us could use the offer. So I made an 8pm reservation, got there at 8 and was sat at 8:25.. What was the point of the reservation? After our meal we showed them our offer, and the server said that we can only use two. I told them I was informed otherwise, and so he brought out the manager. The manager "Luis" didn't take any responsibility for his staff's mistake and simply said we can only use two per table, even if we separated our checks. Sucks that we had to pay extra for their own mistake. Overall a bitter experience here. read more

I've said it once, I'll say it again. Recession? What recession? The hubster and I visited Fogo de Chao last night and the place was packed! People even brought their many children and at $50 bucks a pop, that's sayin' something. We arrived at the time of our reservation and were seated promptly. We took a look at the salad bar for curiosity's sake and didn't partake, because c'mon, we were here for the meat! If I were a green eatin' bein' (which I'm not), I may have thought their large selection of fresh veggies and salads was pretty darn cool. We were here for the meat, baby! And boy was there meat... after turning our disk over to green, gaucho after gaucho serenaded us with sizzling meat skewer after meat skewer. It was hard to keep up, but we definitely tried to down as much meat as we could as fast as we could. Then we realized it was a marathon and not a sprint, so we turned the disk to red to temporarily stem the flow of meat in order to maximize intake of the meaty goodness! The meats were awesome! The garlic pichana was the bomb! The filet was tender! The beef ancho was flavorful! The endless cheese bread was warm and gooey and tasty! The service was phenomenal. We don't dig on swine, because you know, a pig is a filthy animal (unless we be talkin' 'bout one charmin' motherf'in' pig). So after we declined one pork option, they never brought any other pork options to our table. They offered to freshly cook the bacon wrapped meats without bacon (such as the filet and the chicken breast). They soon learned to send the well-done meat my way, and the medium-rare meat the hubsters way. Even when our disk was red, they asked if there was anything in particular we wanted. When our drinks were almost finished, we were always asked if we wanted another. Basically, they knew that we needed something before we even knew we needed something! We purposely saved room for dessert and had the chocolate lava cake and the flan.... yummers! The only downside was that there was just too much meat. God, I can't believe I just said that. It would have been nice to have some rice or steamed veggies interspersed with the meat. read more

I took my boyfriend and his twin brother out to eat on their birthday and decided to try Fogo's because we had been to churrascarias before and I wanted the birthday lunch to be nice. We went to Lunch so the salad bar was small compared to dinner [I'm guessing, Rafain's had a huge selection for dinner]. The service was amazing... I really can't stress that enough, "our" waiter, I guess, was really nice, they were not pushy at all... I said quietly to my BF "I wonder if there's a dessert menu..." and BOOM, The hostess comes over and asked me if I would like to look at a dessert menu... Either she's psychic or they all have super sonic hearing... On to the food, The house special was very good, the meat, was not too chewy and did not fall apart in your mouth, it was just right. Filet mignon was very good, I would actually say that Rafain's Filet Mignon was just as good as Fogo's. SInce we could not eat pork, the waiter offered to substitute and make us a kind of "special" order of the chicken that was wrapped in bacon. They brought it out in a few minutes, the wine kind of made me sick but that's just me, I don't like the taste. The lamb chops were really good; I'm looking at my review and it's kind of hard to believe that I haven't said anything bad about this restaurant, but it really IS THAT GOOD! Food was GREAT. Let's leave it at that! On to dessert! We had the Creme Brule and the Flan! If you've read any of my past reviews, I am NOT a fan of flan....but I am going to say this here, the flan was simply beautiful. Yes I said beautiful because i enjoyed every single bite, it was not too sweet and not too bland and not too runny or super tough, it was exactly JUST RIGHT. I guess that's what flan is suppose to feel like when you eat it. It felt like heaven! The creme brule was really good too. I just remember loving every bite of it! It was just gooooood. It was a birthday celebration and "our" waiter brought out the creme brule and the flan with two candles for their birthday. Before we ordered, he joked that if we *don't like our food* (we were asking a lot about dessert) that we could just leave one bite and they would comp our food... haha. Well, when we got the check, I saw that they had comped the dessert for the twin's birthday, which was very nice of them... First star goes to the amazing service second for the flawless food third for the fastness of service fourth for the comforting atmosphere fifth for a perfect restaurant and job well done! This is very very rare... I have never used the term "perfect restaurant" before... and to explain how the service was, here is an example: if I went to the restroom, I wouldn't have been surprised if they tried to wipe my a** for me. Closing this: I forgot to mention: BE HUNGRY, and when you visit the salad bar, don't fill up on the salad... I got two twigs of asparagus! I was sad I didn't get any of the brown sugar Pineapple... that's part of dinner I believe... EDIT: I forgot to add: The endless cheese bread, don't fill up on it, it's a trap that they try to make it so good you can't stop eating it! Try not to eat so much of it and save the room for the delicious meats that's floating around you!!! I'm sorry, I had to edit again, I had to say that the experience was far more enjoyable than the experience at Texas de Brazil... The service was far better, everything was better all the stars were well deserved and I just want to stress that the coupons that TDB has to offer will not have me going over there to save a few pennies, Fogo has me swept. Fogo de Chão - Creme Brule on the House - Brazilian Near Me - Addison, Texas

My impression of this place can best be summed up with two words: Holy crap. I had never been to a Churrascaria before, it was explained to me beforehand, but words alone can't really describe the experience of having roving packs of waiters pile meat on your plate faster than you can eat it. Honestly, for a few seconds I wondered if I had somehow wandered through a back door into heaven, because I'm pretty sure that's what happens there. The salad bar alone was amazing, and many people could probably make a meal out of it alone. Not a real meal, and not me, because I firmly believe that a salad bar isn't food - it's what food eats. And the meats....when I turned that little coaster to the green side, a swarm of little men appeared from the ether, wielding skewers of pork, chicken, lamb, and every cut of beef I could think of, and piled it onto my plate so quickly I'm not really even sure what everything was. Every one of them was tender and delicious, but pretty soon I stopped with the chicken (bones slowed me down) and lamb (very rich) and just focused on the beef....and the bacon-wrapped beef. The only downside is that it is expensive. Between dinner, a drink, and dessert, I spent somewhere around $80 just for myself. I didn't eat enough to be worth that...I tried really hard, but I had eaten earlier in the day, so I wasn't properly prepared to really attack something like this. What this means though, is that when I'm in LA in a few weeks, I have to seek out their local store and eat enough for 2 trips. read more

I've always wanted to try Fogo de Chao to compare with Rafain. So based on my first visit, I don't think I'll come back. Service -- Excellent! Staff members were very attentive and courteous. I would give them 5 stars for Service. Meats -- I find Rafain's meat more tender and chewy. There were some meats at Fogo when I felt like I was chewing rubber. The "house special" was really tasty, that's my favorite! Salad bar -- Not too impressive but not shabby either. It was average. Table items: (1) Cheesebread -- Very, very good! (2) Mashed potato -- Very good (3) Fried yuca -- Good (4) Plaintains -- Soggy and oily. Did not like it at all. Desserts -- Ahhh, the clincher. You will have to order dessert separately and therefore, pay for it SEPARATELY. Rafain has a good selection of dessert bar that is INCLUDED in the meal and this gives them, in my opinion, several levels higher than Fogo. And of course, let's not forget the ambiance. If you want a quiet, cozy, romantic, and spacious meal (or evening) go to Rafain. Fogo de Chao's tables are far too close to each other and the room was just too loud for me. Their dining room is like a big box with all the tables inside. Whereas at Rafain's they have a dining area one step higher than the food bar; I thought the inside of Rafain's was really beautiful. If I were to spend a large amount of money and consume a lot of calories to celebrate a special occasion (or just eat for the heck of it!), I would definitely go to Rafain!! read more

The restaurant was amazing. Waited about an hour on Mother's Day. The service was great and the food spectacular!! However, the ladies bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! There were only 3 stalls and 1 was out of order. The other 2 that did work were gross. They had no toilet paper and the trash cans in the stalls were overfilled with trash that had spilled all over the stall floors. Not sure if I will be returning. read more

We could not get reservations at the Uptown location so we decided on Addison. It's beyond me why you sit a party of 2 next to a party of 15 child's birthday party. We asked to to be moved and were. We never saw the wait staff again. We poured our own wine and finally asked for our table to be cleaned. Luis "the manahecame over and said "oh I I understood there is a problem " which we explained the above. He offered no solution and excused himself from the table. Suddenly waitstaff was hovering, too little and much too late. The concept and food is good, but take the trip to Uptown for a better experience. read more

Exceptional service, exceptional food... Over the top service and attention to detail. So good in fact that we felt compelled to tip at 25%. Took the kids this time and they enjoyed the broad selection and all the activity at the table. Kids 3 and under eat free, 12 and under are half price. Rafain, which is one of their local competitors, does not offer the half off for kids, but they will send you a $25 coupon for your birthday if you get on their email list. The salad bar was so fantastic that we even went back after the servings of meat. And, there was something new at the salad bar this time, candied bacon with a little cayenne seasoning...wow. We took three servings. Without really having to say, the meats were tender and perfectly cooked. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. Tips to save money... Drink water. Ice tea and lemonade were like $5 each, martini's were $12. And, get your fill before it's time for desert. It is extra here, where it is offered on the salad bar at Rafain. I have been to Fogo de Chao in Houston and Dallas. On a recent visit to Texas I went here with my family, to celebrate my Dad's birthday. I like to eat meat, but I can only visit this place once a year at most. You probably already know by now that the concept of FdC is unlimited high quality meat, until you can't eat any more. If you pace yourself and are smart about what you select, you can get your money's worth. My favorites out of the selection are filet mignon (NOT the bacon-wrapped filet) and bottom sirloin (Fraldinha). I don't care so much for the house specialty Picanha. Everything, especially the bacon wrapped and garlic meats, is very salty, more so than I prefer. I try not to eat too much of the starchy sides, but the cheese rolls and polenta sticks are awesome. ** Here is a tip: go for lunch, instead of dinner. It's the same menu and still all you can eat, but roughly half the price @ $26 vs $40 a head. There are no cheap wines here - which is too bad. read more

When you come here, you have to come PREPARED. Fast all day, don't eat a thing! Make sure you have enough room in your stomach to eat your money's worth. I was pretty hungry when I came, and I left so full that breathing was painful. I'm pretty sure I didn't eat $50 worth of food, but it was still worth it for the experience. Great selection of meat. Servers are constantly coming around with their skewers of goodness. I got greedy at first and ended up piling a bunch of meat on my plate... Bad idea cause then some of my meat was cold by the time I got to it.If you're not a big steak person, their salad bar has a surprisingly good selection. I think no matter your food preference, you'll still be able to leave with an enjoyable meal. And their cheese bread.... YUMMMM Will come again during lunch since the price is cheaper. Fogo De Chao sincerely blew me away. I've been to a few brazilian steak houses before, but nothing like this. There are so many people constantly waiting on you hand and foot, bringing you anything you ask for quickly and promptly. Make no mistake, you are paying for this level of service and quality of food... but boy is it worth it. I recently went here for my 23rd birthday. I'm a big fan of steak, and brazilian steakhouses are like an hour and a half of heaven to me. I'd been frequenting Brazilian Cowboy and occasionally Texas De Brazil for my birthdays and special events but Fogo De Chao was suggested to me by a friend. I don't think I'll ever go to another brazilian steakhouse again. The fresh salad bar is exactly what you'd expect from a high class place such as this... insanely fresh mozzarella, cured meats, BACON!, and tons of veggies and specialty items to choose from. In addition to several types of medium rare cooked steaks and a few other meats (no steak no care), they bring you fried bananas (to clear your palate between different meats) and garlic mashed potatoes (with cheese and chives on top). The mashed potatoes are my favorite side item along with the cheesy bread but don't fill up on the side stuff too quickly, you're going to need room for the unlimited amount of steak they will bring you. If you've never experienced a brazilian steakhouse before, Fogo De Chao is the first and only place you'll ever need to go. If you have been to other brazilian steakhouses and want to try the best, then get over there and experience the ultimate brazilian steakhouse experience for yourself! read more

My husband and I love this place! Great for steaks, chicken, lamb, pork, whatever you name it! The meat here is sooooo juicy, its never been overcooked any of the times we've gone. Tastes the same, even better each time we go! Apx $40-48 per person, which includes the all you can eat meats, sides, and salad bar ---which has huge selections of salads, pasta, bread, etc --BUT DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH OF THE SELECTIONS FROM THE SALAD BAR ON YOUR PLATE! OR ELSE YOU WONT HAVE ANY ROOM FOR WHATS TO COME! They have dessert as well if you're stll hungry....but I doubt you will be because you will be FULL wayy before you plan on leaving this place. DO NOT EAT BEFORE YOU COME HERE!! (you won't have any room for the good food if you do!) Make reservations before hand, the wait can be ridiculous sometimes-We've waited over 40-45 minutes before. I don't have to say much as there are already many reviews raving about this place and those are FACTS! This place rocks! Their food are fantastic! Meat selection is incredible and you wish to eat more than you can. Also, the salad bar is impressive. I love their smoked salmon, chicken salad, cheese, salami and the beats slices! Sooo awesomely delicious! Also, the cheese biscuit and plantain they serve are heavenly yummy! I always got distracted from the meat and can't help popping the cheese biscuit. They are sooo good! The waiter/waitress tend to give you a new fresh basket of cheese biscuit every 10 mins or so before you finish the previous bowl. Feel like eating like a dinosaur and served like a King? I know you can't pick your neighbors, but Olive Garden? Really? Dinner at Fogo de Chao for 1 is $52. Olive Garden is like $10. On to the food....This is a great place to take guys because it's a heavenly display of endless meat. But, if I were you I'd save it until I went to Houston because I hear that one is really nice and huge. Austin's location is nicer too. On my Valentine's Day visit today, I found most of the meats pretty salty. You also have watch how you order. I preferred some meats rare and some medium, and I am usually medium all around. The experience is memorable, with the Gaucho-attired waiters with stacks of meat on swords, and the somewhat-unpronounceable National Drink of Brazil to boot. Pricey? You bet! Worth it? There is nothing wrong with Fogo de Chao, as long as you come hungry. The salad bar is enormous and if you get too much from the bar, you won't want to eat any of the meat, potatoes, and plantains. The first time I came here, my waiter didn't explain the method of dining, so I didn't know I was supposed to turn my card over to green once my table was ready for the meat. So, after we ate from the salad bar, workers brought out the potatoes and plantains, so we kept eating that thinking that the meat would be the last part of the meal. We were so confused, wondering why other tables had meat and we didn't. It wasn't until we were completely full that our waiter finally came back to our table saying, "Do you guys not want any meat? If so, you better turn you card over". I couldn't be upset at the waiter because the meat was so wonderful. There wasn't one piece of meat that I didn't enjoy. I would definitely return! read more

If you've been to one churrascaria, then you know the deal. Fogo de Chao is like the rest of them...I think I did have the most tender piece of steak ever here, but I don't know the cut because the gauchos rush up, quickly cut your meat and run away, barely announcing what you are getting. I think it was the picanha or the fillet though. The salad bar was good, but it wasn't Texas de Brazil. The serive is where it gets tricky. I had a bad experience. Let's just say that one of the gauchos was inappropriate, disrespectful, out of line, and rude to me. I'm still trying to figure out if it was deliberate or if he was totally clueless. Either way, its unacceptable. Aside from the bad experience, the place deserves 2.5 stars. But I can't. read more

This has got to now be one of my favorite places to eat. The salad bar is easily one of the best I've ever had. They have a variety of meats, veggies and cheeses and leave you wishing you had left more room for the main course. I am not much of a meat eater, but even I couldn't help indulging in the variety of meats they have walking around with a server. They are deliciously seasoned and range from bacon wrapped filet to rack o lamb. The service is exceptional as no one had a glass more than half empty at any time or crumbs in front of their plate. For dessert, our table ordered, raspberry cheesecake, creme brulee and key lime pie all of which were amazing. Had a fantastic meal here with my Dad and BF. I had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, but had heard all the hype. The service was phenomenal. We never waited long for anything and all of the servers worked together to serve all of the tables which created a very relaxed and helpful atmosphere. I suspected at a place like this that they would push the chicken and be stingy with the filet, but not so... when we mentioned how much we loved the filet, they brought it back every 5 minutes until we turned our cards red. The manager came by to ask how we were enjoying our meal as well. The best part (and I'm not sure how they do this), was that when they brought huge skewers of meat by, they would ask how you like it, and even though it all looked the same to me from the outside, they were able to perfectly slice medium-rare for my dad, and medium for me. Having done a lot of readings on all the BSH in Dallas, I decided to try the original Fogo first. I had a very high expectations for the salad bar, the meats, the wine list and the service. the service turned out to be most satisfying element of my dining experience. The salad bar is not dat fresh, I came in around 1130 for lunch and half items in the salad bar felt dry to include the fresh mozzarella ball. The basil sauce is a bomb, goes really well with the mozzarella and sundries tomato. Meats, four star. My fav r the beef ribs and ribeye steak. U can ask for the cuts to ur desired doneness and they will bring it to u, which why I gave the service five star. The wine list, reds in particular, is not impressive but sufficient. Overall, it's a great experience and set the bar really high for the rest of my BSH venture. read more

What could I possibly write here that hasn't been written already? Fogo de Chao is hands down the best churrascaria in Dallas. And make sure you get yourself a bottle of Nicolas Catena Zapata (cab/malbec blend) with your meal. I promise you won't be disappointed with that combination. read more

Is it an injustice to call this place a buffet? Because that's what it is. Except... you don't serve yourself. Servers with swords loaded with tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned meat swarm you faster than you can eat it, and before you know it your plate will be full of meat. Flip your card over to the red side to signal for a meat intermission. As soon as you're ready for more meat, flip it to green and you will quickly be overwhelmed again. If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, get ready to eat! The salad bar is excellent to start, but don't fill up on it or you won't get your money's worth. Be sure to try the pao de quiejo, or cheese bread they bring to the table. Those are amazing! (Tip: if you like them, Google "easy Brazilian cheese bread" for a simple recipe you can make in a blender) All of the meats were good. The filet mignon and lamb were my favorites. Try a little of everything, and if you like it ask your server to come around with more. If you manage to make it through the meat feeding frenzy for dessert, the caramel cheesecake is a great way to finish. Four star because the value is not the best unless you are a huge meat eater. Boyfriend made us Valentine's Day reservations here. We arrived 5 minutes early to our reservation and still needed to wait another 10 minutes. We made plans to visit Fogo for awhile, but never had the opportunity to do so. We have been to Texas de Brazil numerous times as well as Chamas in Arlington. I had very high expectations, but the selection just wasn't as great here. The salad bar did not have lobster bisque, nor were there many seafood/fish options. There also was not a large variety of cheeses or vinigrettes to choose from either. However, they did have two different types of prosciutto that I really enjoyed. Very large meat selection here. I loved how they had both top and bottom serloin on different skews. The picanha was out of this world. However, I felt that the waiters were not as attentive as Texas de Brazil, as they would usually forget that I always wanted rare meat. They would usually cycle around and then ask what I wanted again and again. At Texas de Brazil (both Dallas and Fort Worth locations), I've never needed to remind them how I wanted my meat cooked. Also, when my card was green but I kept denying their items, the waiters would ask me what I wanted so they could bring it out for me. This type of "above and beyond" service never happened during my night as Fogo. As for the environment, the cleanliness of the restaurant was spectacular. A constant cycle of tables being set and new plates brought out. My silverware was stainless and the plates didn't have extra water stains. I liked how the waiter pushed in my chair when I sat down, but he was super awkward about it. 9/10 would never let him push in a chair for me again. Out of the 3 major named Brazilian steakhouses that we've tried, Chamas has the most impressive and freshest salad bars. I still dream of that salad bar from time to time. However, Texas de Brazil will have service that will blow you away. Fogo still has great meats and decent service, but I felt that it didn't meet the hype that was set up. I would definitely look into other Brazilian steakhouses before stopping at this one. read more

I went for Sunday dinner and the restaurant became really crowded and loud. And there was a constant low hum/buzz sound that kept resonating throughout the restaurant. My whole family got really annoyed. In the past, when I came to this location, the service was decent and the food came out at a steady rate. But I mostly came here on weekday nights. However, when I went this past Sunday night, the restaurant was definitely not prepared to serve a full restaurant. I saw the meat servers every five minutes and there were only 4 meats in rotation. They looked really stressed and frantic. Obviously, there weren't even servers and meats were not being prepared in time. I got served half the time I would normally get served. After an hour, we asked for our check and quietly left u satisfied. Overall, food quality is good but service is definitely not consistent. And they gave me mixed messages each time I've been there. Sometimes this location seems very fancy and upscale but other times it seems like a costly, casual restaurant. read more

Got here about an hour before closing. I could tell the kitchen was cutting back on the flow of the meats. I understand they are trying to maximize profits and reduce the amount of food they have to discard but it was obvious. I live in the Los Angeles area and I have been to the locations downtown and Beverly Hills much better. Expensive and if service is not perfect it's not worth it. The restaurant focuses on all kinds of different kinds of meat, but they still manage to have an amazing salad bar as well. I almost filled up on it. Almost. The meat they bring around is soooo good, but if it doesn't look good, you just flip your card over to the red side, and the servers keep walking. I guess I'm one of the few that likes texas de brasil better than fogo de chao. But my opinion could be biased based on the fact that Texas de Brasil was my first Brazilian BBQ experience and had no expectations (also, we had cute waiters as texas de brasil). Fogo has slightly better food than Texas de Brazil or Rafain, but the lunch price and a couple of huge dinner faux pas will keep me from going back for a while. We had a group of 8 that showed up on a non-holiday Thursday night. Ok, looks like we should have made reservations, just turn us away, but instead, they had us wait and then decided they were going to open up another section of the dining room. No problem, plenty of room now. Only problem, they didn't magically have extra staff appear. So after the huge build-up you always give first-timers about the place, and the special event nature of the night, we end up getting awful service and thick undercooked slices of meat. I assumed they were cutting it thick to minimize the visits they'd have to make to the table. A long wait for our bill and then credit card slip topped the evening off nicely. I left without complaining because it was already late and the group included some kids who would have school the next day. I call the next day and get a lot of grief from them about not saying anything that night. Finally they offered up a 100.00 gift certificate and seemed unable to understand that I wasn't wanting money, I wanted to be sure that if I took people to the restaurant again, it would be first class. Next time I go, I invite an out-of-town friend for one of those magical Fogo experiences and decide to use the gift card. They had told me to make sure and ask for *whatever her name was. I assumed she'd come out and greet us or send us a complimentary dessert. Instead, she comes out to our table and asks me what was wrong with the last visit. Hmm, maybe you care to discuss how crappy the food and service were in front of my guest, but I'd like to pass on that... After my guest squirmed for a while, she finally got a clue and left. Nothing awful happened after that foodwise or service wise, but it flavored the evening. My thoughts now are- go there if you want filet mignon for lunch, for anything else, go to Rafain at half the price. read more
