This has become my families absolutely favorite special occasion restaurant! We have been going for over 10 years and we are never disappointed. The service is phenomenal and no other Brazilian steakhouse in the DFW AREA has been able to live up to the top notch service and delicious food we always receive when we visit! We love all, of the meat selections, especially the Picanha ! But even if you aren't wanting to fill up mainly on their delicious meat options, they also offer a large and wonderful salad bar that offers smoked salmon, hearts of Palm, fresh Tabouleh , prosciutto as well as many more salad options & cheese! I've only been to the other location in San Antonio and was very impressed, so I didn't expect anything less with Fogo de Chao in Dallas. There was no wait time on a busy and crowded Friday night. We brought a guest who was a first-timer and she was literally blown away by the impeccable service and top-notch food. It was funny to watch her reaction because we didn't tell her what to expect. For three adults, our bill came out to $176 (soda, no alcohol, no desserts). Pricey, but so worth it. Try to pace yourself at the unlimited salad bar, if you can, to save room for the endless array of meats that will visit your table later. As always, this restaurant is truly a carnivore's paradise. Horrible slow service. Took 3 request to get our bill, one of those times we were given the wrong one. Dessert order was taken wrong. Never got the to go box we requested. The salad bar was over crowded, not a lot of variety. Every time we requested something the the staff was friendly but they just never came back with our request until we insisted. This is probably the 6th time I've been to Fogo and I think I was a little underwhelmed today. We came for lunch as my best friend and his family are in town and it was time to go somewhere nice to eat. What's nicer than Fogo, not much. It's 5 of us for lunch, all adults. If you haven't been to Fogo before, you are in for a treat. Especially if you like to eat. Especially if you like to eat meat. Especially if you like to eat red meat. Especially if you're a glutton. The gauchos bring you the meat on spits. These are huge chunks of meat that have been cooking over the fire. Anything from top sirloin, to bottom sirloin, to picanha (the house special), to lamb chops, to pork sausage, to chicken, to filet mignon, to pork ribs to beef ribs. They're all pretty tasty in their own right but my favorites are the lamb chops and the picanha. If it were me, this is what I'd do. Ignore the chicken and sausage guy. Completely. Make friends with the lamb chop and the picanha guy. The ribeye is also pretty good, just make sure you get it cooked the way you want it. The guy today said, "Here's some ribeye, it's medium," and it was completely cooked through. Inedible! The salad bar is quite good and they have a lot of stuff to choose from. If you're a vegetarian, you can get just the salad bar pricing. What makes it 4 stars today instead of 5? I'm not sure what happened. The staff was a little slow and not Johnny-on-the-spot like I expect them to be. Normally the gauchos are on the annoying side and coming by too frequently. Today, there were long pauses where no gauchos came to our table for 10 minutes. It was strange. Near the end of our meal, my "Stop/go" card had disappeared. I think a gaucho put his plate on it and it got stuck to it and he took it with him. My water was always full and they never felt like they were rushing us. Absoloutely brilliant! If you're a lover of all things meat *blinks* Errrr... if you like... well, you get the idea. This is the place to go! A bit on the pricey side, but most definitely worth it. My diet went right out the window as I had the opportunity to ingest some of the most amazing food I've had the pleasure of tasting so far. The wine was excellent, the service was beyond compare, and the dessert had Happy Anniversary scrolled in strawberry sauce across the edge. Talk about thoughtful! Overall, many many spiffy points. By far the best Brazilian steakhouse I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The food is phenomenal, including the salad bar and charcuterie board. I came alone on a business trip and was treated like royalty. I feel so flattered to have the attention of a room full of hot Brazilian men bringing me meats on a skewer. This is your standard Brazilian Churrascria with Gauchos running around with meat on the stick. You get a two sided coaster, one side green,the other red. Green tells the Gaucho to pile it on, red says stop. There are so many different meats, it is hard to try them all without exploding. Overall, the food tastes very good, with Fillet, top Sirloin, and Picanha being my favorite. They have a very extensive wine list and you can find some decent wine at reasonable prices. Also, they have a very good salad bar. The only complaint I have is that the Caipirinhas are not as good as they used to be. read more

This place has been a special place for us for years, since it was first built. Of course for $45pp a sitting on dinner, it's saved for special occasions. We returned this year for the company Holiday party and got exactly what we expected. Great food, wonderful food, great staff. Love their cheese breads, but be careful, these things are what will fill you up faster than anything else. True to my prediction, even after starving myself all day so I would have a huge appetite, I was hurting within 20 minutes of eating. Not because the food was bad, but because you eat so much so fast, it starts to hurt. Be prepared, wear stretch pants because you feel like you ate a lot but you really just ate it fast. Does a "buffet" style restaurant deserve a 5 star rating? Yes. It's that good. Fogo beats the other churrascarias in Dallas. Hands down. The salad bar is amazing. Yes. The cheesy tapioca bread is also amazing. Yes. Service is good. The wait staff all service you, so don't be afraid to grab the next person and ask for what you need. Some people don't like that style, but it's A-OK to me. Judging solely on the fact that they replace the aforementioned amazing cheesy bread on your table to make sure it's still warm when you bite into it. I don't know about you, but that's service to me. I've dined here several times and its always my go-to, special occasion, livin' it up, food coma paradise. For $49.50 per person, it's not an "I don't know what to eat on a Tuesday night" place. TIP: Always ask right away for the beef rib to be brought to your table. This place is pretty good. The good: The meat is absolutely delicious. I loved about everything I had. The lamb especially was super tender and not very gamey. The bacon wrapped chicken and steak were my favorites. The servers seem to come in waves and run around the tables dumping meat off to whoever wants it. The ambience of the place is nice without being too uptight. It had nice light levels on the tables so I could see my feed but the remaining space was darkened just a bit. They also accepted our group of 7 with no reservation at 7PM with almost no wait. The salad bar has some really good items as well. I found I had to be a bit pickier with the salad items than with the meat selection. The bad: Some folks at my table bought cokes while another diner and myself ordered diet coke. The coke came in nice tall glass bottles (16 or 20oz bottles). My diet coke came in a super small 8OZ BOTTLE. I'm a bit of a soda guzzler so I was pretty disappointed. When I ordered I didn't think the diet portion was attributed to its size. When the check finally came my 2 diet cokes cost me $3 dollars a pop (pun not intended). My husband had been wanting to try a Brazilian steakhouse from some time but the one where we live is bad. So we went here on a recent trip to Dallas. This place did not disappoint. My husband was upset that he got full on the salad bar rather than waiting for the meat. He did still eat me under the table though. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the drink I ordered was too strong. I spoke to the waitress and she said she even watered it down for me. But I guess if you like that sort of thing than you will have no problem there. Overall my favorite meat was the rib eye steak I was served. What can I say, carnivores rejoice! I always go here if I am feeling like I need some fatty protein. Dont be fooled, dont eat too much of the sides they bring you, try to restrain yourself and fill up on the good stuff like the filet. Red side of the coaster means stop, no more, please! Green means come on over and hook me up with some of dat good stuff. The salad bar is is good but nothing that really makes me want to squeal like a pig. Sides, they bring out are the fried plantains, rice, and some fried cheese sticks...dont be fooled and get full on these items. Our server was hot and was attentive. Of course great "meats" and salad bar. Went on a Saturday around 630pm. Liked their special house drink and the Parmesan pork the best. Only downside is the tables are way to close and it makes it difficult to get back to your seat. Went to the one in Washington dc and I didn't have this problem. Overall a great place. Came back last week as I was in town and wanted to see the difference between here and the ones in Sao Paulo. I love that they have peppadew peppers because those are delicious. Well. Some things that I noticed were different from in Brazil. No farofa. No white rice. No blood sausage. No chicken hearts. I can understand why they don't carry the chicken hearts anymore because not a lot of Americans will eat that but the blood sausage that they make in Sao Paulo are fantastic and would be a big hit. Service was really good. I'm a big fan of the fraldinha and they cooked it like the way it is in Brazil. One problem that I have is their chimichurri sauce. It is just not the same as how they make it in Brazil. The one in Sao Paulo is fantastic and you can use it with everything. Another gripe that I have is that not everyone speaks portuguese here. So when one server came over and asked me if I wanted something but said it in portuguese, I replied and then he replied back in Spanish. That doesn't cut it. At the end, I had the Papaya cream for dessert. This was terrible. It just didn't taste the same as how they do it in Brazil. I told one of the Brazilian servers and he told one of the Brazilian managers that the dessert was terrible. So the manager came over and said that he would personally make the papaya cream for me because he used to do it when he lived in Rio Grande de Sul. Well. When he brought it back, it was so much better. That kind of service is fantastic. I will definitely be coming back when I'm back in town. read more

Went here for the first time for a friend's birthday. I was absolutely amazed by how wonderful it was. I had only experienced a Brazillian Steakhouse in Las Vegas, and I have to say that Fogo was Better! The restaurant itself is beautiful and you are greeted with the smell of yummy meat roasting right as you walk in. The salad bar is awesome, but really try not to fill up there. The meat is what this place is all about. The chicken is tender and juicy, the meat is so good it melts in your mouth. The desserts are also extra good, if you have any room left after the meat-fest. If I were rich I would probably go here once a week or more. Since I am not rich, I try and go here a couples times per yeare for celebrations of any kind. Not really a kid friendly place. Call the babysitter and get dressed up. This is adult fun time, and it is wonderful! read more

Perfect in every way from the food to the service. Our kids are out of town this Christmas so we decided to eat here. It was very crowded. But, the restaurant made sure every table was taken care of. 'ok' kind of plain, but I guess its more of a filler tactic to lessen the the amount of meat off the spits consumed. The polenta, fried banana, and mashed potato sides.. were OK.. as well.. average. Some coworkers and I met the Director of Sales for Fogo de Chao for lunch one day and had a great experience. The salad bar was to die for and I would have been happy to just try that for my meal. We also enjoyed the many meats that came out...it was too much food for lunch, but could tell the quality was high. He also toured us around the restaurant and showed us the private meeting space. It is definitely a great option for us in the future as a meeting location. They are starting to offer happy hour in the lounge too...looks like a nice place to unwind from the day with a nice glass of wine. read more

This was my first time at this location. I've been to Fogo in Austin. I would say the meat and salad bar were on point. I was even impressed by the fact they took an 8pm reservation that we made only 2 hours earlier and we were sat at 7:58pm. Oh and they have complimentary valet! What cost them a star was the three sides and the bread. None of those were warm. They were room temperature at best. The restaurant was packed, but you would think that would ensure those things were hot and fresh. I look forward to the rolls, polenta, and plantains, but not if they come out like that again. You pay too much to not have it come out perfect. Side note- I did try a Brazilian martini for the first time and loved it. read more

Yea, alright so I am going to go against the grain here and pretty much lay it out how it really is. Firstly I will preface that I am not a fan of many chain restaurants regardless of the status they may hold and or how amazing the food might be claimed to be. I feel this place like most of this caliber have a sort of ambiance of needing to be good to justify bill vs quality. Now is this place bad, nope, but I rate things on a scale of cost vs quality and while the meats here are your traditional Brazilian steakhouse meats there was nothing and I quote NOTHING that stood out compared to the rest. The meat coma induced from these places can be quiet pleasant after a quick daily fast preparing to ingest the slaughter that must have taken place to even keep this place open for one dinner a week. The salad bar is stocked well, good selections of toppings and meats sliced, cheeses, salmon (almost kinda lox not quite) and various oils and dressings. This place is LOUD , now granted the group sitting behind us must have just finished there 17th bottle of wine or aside from meat where inhaling laughing gas under the table so that might have contributed too it some. Overall the service was psuedo prompt, the waiter had the attention span of an add dog at a tennis court but that was to be expected with all the people there. I would say if your looking to endear a meat marathon any time in the future be sure to check out some of the little less known Brazilian steakhouses around as I seem to enjoy those a bit more for about the same price and equal if not better settings and atmosphere. read more

This is my favorite restaurant anywhere. The service is amazing and the food is as well. I have never seen such an attentive staff anywhere I've been. The salad bar is one of the best you will see. They have a lot of really fresh cheeses, cold meats, and salad options. Don't fill up here though. My favorite thing on the salad bar is the fresh mozzarella cheese. Now on to the main event. The meat. I don't usually eat the rolls or the sides. They are good but that's not what you are here for. The meat options are great. Love the atmosphere. It's intimate but not too dark where you can't see each other. The salad bar is big and plentiful. Our server was extremely helpful as it was our first time here. Salad bar was good. They also bring out rolls, potatoes, fries and fried bananas. ALL the meat was good. They were cooked very well. My wife and I were in Dallas for a little business. We had chosen Fogo de Chao as a place to meet an old friend and her husband , who live in the area, for dinner. What a great choice. We have been to numerous brazillian restaurants like this, including some pretty impressive ones like Espetus in San Francisco. This certainly measured up as one of the best. We had reservations and were promptly seated right on time. Service was flawless if not too attentive (if there is such a thing). It was the first time to this style of restaurant for the couple joining us and they seemed impressed. Certainly not the cheapest evening, but absolutely worth every penny, there is nothing I can ad here that hasn't been written already. If your anywhere near Dallas, go here and be happy. I usually go to the Plano location and went here for the first time with some coworkers. The service was not the same that I am used to at the Plano location. We were not asked how did we want the meat done - rare, medium or well. Then the chicken sliders came with less meat than a chicken nugget. No grilled taste or even grill marks, seemed it was just warmed up in a pan. The lamb did not come with the mint chimmichuri sauce either. We asked about it and they said they have a mint jelly, oh the disappointment. Then lastly the bill came with additional two drinks. With 6 of us we did drink quite a lot but the servers could not account for why there were two extra drinks on the tab. If you have been to the Plano store do not go to the Addison location. They do not even bring bacon to the table. I suggest the staff dine at their sister store and see what good food and good service is really like. Some of the food ordered never came to the table but they didn't include it on the bill so we didn't bother bringing it up. We will just stick to Plano location from now on. read more

Okay, this place is a little pricey. $50 a person, BUT you get as much food as you can eat! The salad bar is sooooo good, so so good! They have great meat options, vegetables, soups, bread, everything! They also have several small appetizers they give for the meal, which are okay. Unfortunately the mashed potatoes tasted so grainy, they completely tasted like they were from a box. Eh. The meats are good, some better than others. Service is completely average. Our waiter seemed really busy and hardly came over to clear our plates. The bus-boys were really quick and sweet when we asked them for help. I was so excited to try this place, but it was kind of mediocre for me, don't think we'll be coming back soon. read more

Fogo de Chao has succumbed to a mediocre selection of meats if compared with the brasilian steakhouse that first started in São Paulo. For those who had a real brasilian churrascaria experience will be very disappointed when the selection doesn't of meats do not include linguiça, maminha, alcatra, and the always cool coraçaozinho de frango. Besides when I asked the server was an smart a-- and said they only serve premium cuts and the ones I requested where not on that category. Came here for lunch and had a phenomenal experience. The hostess was friendly and seated us immediately and our server quickly introduced himself after. He made a perfect wine recommendation based on our needs. Every server and gaucho brought everything we wanted at the perfect moment without skipping a beat. Delicious food. If you have to pick between Fogo and Texas De Brazil, Fogo is better. TDB isn't bad, Fogo's just better. Great meats, all of them come around and frequently so don't be afraid to put the red card out and have them wait on you a while. People say skip the salad bar and just do the meat, good luck with that. The salad bar is half the reason I come and I am far from a veggie. Fresh mozzarella, asparagus, and amazing sun dried tomatoes if you're in to that granola-y type of stuff (I am.) The house meat, (it escapes me right now) is delicious and they serve it rare, to medium-rare, perfectly pink, but is anyone really looking for quality over quantity when they come to places like this?? The service here is so very very spot on. One of the only few places that will come to always make sure that your meals are always in order and well. The service are extra friendly and very fast. Food delivery is normal and they keep you posted when its finished. I enjoy the variety of meat and so manh choices of how you want your meats cooked as even an option. The many appetizers by the salad bar. It's also nice to see that the salad and vegetable as fresh. They have a crispy texture meaning that they havent been sitting out too long or are old.
