We've been to Fogo de Chão Plano several times hoping for a good experience because we love the concept. This visit fell short again. The hostess was friendly. We had a reservation and arrived early. She said the wait would be about 30 minutes, so we stepped out. We received a "table ready" text less than five minutes later, which made the timing feel inconsistent. Once seated, we waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to take orders. We started with the Market Table while waiting. Drinks from the bar took longer than expected. Service throughout the night was polite but slow. Our main issue was the meat service. Gauchos circulated, but we often needed the lead server in the area to get specific cuts. Temperatures were not consistent. Cuts looked well-prepared on the outside but were either overcooked or rare (blue) when we always asked for medium. The lamb and chicken were good. The picanha and other beef cuts were not good at all. One of us ordered the sea bass. Flavor was good, but the fish was dry. Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary . I had put that in our reservation and I wanted to see if they would greet us but not even a mention of it. For the price of the meal which at best was average was a letdown. Hosts were not very friendly and did not even smile. The server was okay . Marco the gaucho was good at engaging us and asked us what other meats we wanted and he made sure that it was fresh. Other gauchos seemed to want to unload the overcooked meat. Highlight of the meats for me was the candied bacon. Maybe next time I will just go for the market table which was very good. Went on a Friday evening, and it was very busy. Not surprising, however everything took a lot of time I felt like. I did not go in for steak so ordered a fish from the menu. They took at least 20 mins(which is okay) to give me an undercooked and smelly fish. I sent it back to get another tasteless fish after 20 minutes of waiting. We're normally fans of Fogo, but they fell way short today. We went with a party of 14 today to celebrate multiple birthdays. We were charged for 3 extra full experiences and a 10 year old was charged full price. Our group of 14 ordered 5 Market Tables, 8 adult full experience, and 1 child full experience. We were charged for 12 adult full experiences and 5 Market Tables (17 total). Our friend didn't notice the overcharge until he arrived home. He called the restaurant and was told he would have to call back when a manager was available. Additionally, the service was not good today. The people running the meat items would constantly go to the closest tables and not make it to tables further away from the kitchen. We finally had to tell a supervisor the issue and it did improve a little. Our soft drinks were never refilled unless we asked multiple times. The cheese bread and grilled cheese only made it to our table once, again too far from the kitchen I guess. We will return in small groups, but will not take a large group there again for a celebration. We will also make sure that we are seated near the kitchen so that food makes it to the table. read more

When we did get some meat offers, we got chicken and pork cuts that looked really dry so needless to say, PASS. Service was good, but not too attentive so when we had a chance, we asked them if we could get some lamb or steak. Waited around for those until we couldn't wait any longer so we ended up getting full off of the market table/feijoada bar. After the second plate from the bar, the lamb & steak FINALLY came out but we were dang near full. Total disappointment. I had the pleasure of being served by Michael Katongole at your Plano, TX location, and I just have to say he was outstanding. He struck that perfect balance of being attentive and personable without ever feeling overwhelming. He was professional, polished, and really knowledgeable about the menu, and he had a great attitude the whole time. Honestly, he made the dining experience just right. Spent my birthday dinner at Fogo de Chao with Leo (server who tended to my table the entire night) and my lovely date. I can't say enough about his level of hospitality & dedication to our fulfilling dining experience with them. At a certain point Leo asked me if I wanted any sauce to dip the meats in, but you honestly don't need it. Everything is Flavorful. Him and the staff of Fogo de Chao also let me order a desert on the house in celebration of my birthday. If you're looking for salad bar recommendations: BYOS (build your own salad), the Greek salad, Feijoada w/rice, Pao de queijo that comes with the table, & then be sure to cop the Roasted potatoes, Grilled cheese with honey drizzle, mushrooms etc that wait staff walk out with once you're ready for the meat to come around. YUM. Do be sure to try one of every meat option though. I fasted all day to make sure I had enough room to fit a bite of everything & I'm glad I did. I wish there was an option to do more than 5 stars, the service we received last night was outstanding. My boyfriend and I took our kiddo to celebrate his almost 7th birthday for dinner, and while it was fairly a busy night, you would have thought we were the only guests in the entire restaurant with the amount of care and attention we received by each staff member that catered to us. Our glasses were never empty, there was hardly a moment that we were not served something or at least offered something or checked on to see if we needed anything. My usual favorite cut is the picanha, and last night unfortunately it didn't have the wow factor for me as it usually does, which we communicated to the manager, Maryam, (who does an absolutely phenomenal job managing the restaurant) and she then had the servers come around like clock work, despite the very large party table next to us, and serve us fresh picanha hot off of the roast, at least 3 different times, until I got that wow factor I was craving for. Each staff member was also so so sweet and patient with our birthday boy, special recognition to Tyson, who gave us probably the best experience we've ever had at Fogo de chao (we go a few times a year). Although he was incredibly busy, he took the time to answer all of his questions, joked with him, and treated him with such professionalism - our kiddo said he really felt like he was, in his words, "fancy" lol. 10/10 would recommend. read more

My party didn't feel like our experience was worth the amount we paid for, especially at this chain Brazilian steakhouse. We were seated near the windows and were skipped by multiple times; it was particularly upsetting since there were several items we had been wanting but could not get a slice of. Thankfully, this changed after we flagged down our waiter and brought the matter to his attention; he promptly notified his manager, and they ensured that future items were brought to our table. I wasn't particularly fond of most of the meat selection, since they weren't as flavorful and tender as I had hoped. We tried everything in the lunch churrasco experience, and I will say that the lamb chop, beef rib, lamb picanha, chicken leg, and caramelized banana were the most satisfactory. Came here for my son's birthday and left very disappointed. The seafood tower was mostly bad. The crab claws were mushy and had no flavor, and the mussels were chewy. Only the prawns and lobster tails were good. The meats weren't much better. Several steaks were chewy and over-seasoned, and the lamb tasted gamey. We ate here about three years ago and had a good experience, but this visit felt like the restaurant has gone downhill. The only redeeming part of the night was that the service was decent. I expected more from the headquarters location of Fogo de Chão, but sadly this was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We arrived a little early and were promptly seated--so far, so good. But that's where the positives ended. Service was incredibly slow. After sitting for a while, the only thing we were offered was water and bread. No introduction, no explanation, nothing. My kids and I finally just gave up and went to the salad bar on our own. My wife doesn't eat salad, so I had to grab her a plate myself--and not once were we offered clean plates during the meal. The meat service was just as lackluster. Gauchos came around infrequently, and when they did, most of the meats were overcooked and dry. It seemed like there was a shift change midway through, because suddenly we had a new server who brought out the mashed potatoes, fried polenta, and caramelized bananas--things we should've received much earlier. Dessert was a complete train wreck. It took 20 minutes to bring out three servings of ice cream and two molten lava cakes... and even then, it all looked thrown together with no care or presentation. Overall, this felt nothing like the polished, high-end experience Fogo usually aims for. Definitely not worth the price, and I'd avoid this location... especially considering it's supposed to set the standard for the brand. My wife and I went to Fogo de Chao on 8/19/23 at around 5:30pm. We were celebrating our anniversary and were very excited to try this. The location is very nice with lots of nearby shops so be prepared to find garage parking unless you valet. The interior is very modern and pretty nice. We were seated at a small table for two which I absolutely did not like. This table is was way too small especially considering all the plates, silverware, glasses, and food they bring you. Completely cluttered. I even asked to move to a larger table and was told it would be too crowded. Ummmm ok. One side of the table has a chair and the other side is a booth seat. The booth seat is terrible. It is stiff and uncomfortable. It forces your back straight and isn't comfortable at all. Literally makes it an uncomfortable dining experience. I'd rather sit at a regular table. So the seating was a fail. I wanted to leave as soon as I sat down just due to how uncomfortable the seating is. The ambiance is nice. It's just very cluttered seating. We were seated entirely too close to another couple also. Now the food. The $60 per person which includes the cold salad type bar they have. The only thing I really liked was the potato salad and roasted garlic. Everything else wasn't very good. Gnats were flying around the food bar also which isn't very appetizing. They bring cuts of meat to your table and you have a card that's red on one side and green on the other side. You flip the card to green to have the servers bring you cuts of meat. The staff that brings meat are attentive which is nice. The cuts of meat are hit and miss for me. Some are good and some are not. I really only liked a few cuts. Honestly I'd rather go to Saltgrass for a steak. No I'm not poking fun at Fogo de Chao. I have literally had MUCH better tasting steak at Saltgrass. There is this one dish that is a baked cheese they put honey on. That was the best thing I had. Just give me a plate of that and keep the steak as It was better than the steaks, chicken, and that god awful Parmesan Crusted Pork. The worst thing I ever ate in my life was the Parmesan Crusted Pork. I'm not kidding. Avoid that at all cost. After I ate one bite of that I was done. I literally felt nauseous. For one thing it wasn't cooked properly and second just had no flavor. Just terrible. Now the service.....good service. Not amazing but it's definitely good service. We had plates left for too long a few times and because we were seated at such a small table it just got cluttered and uncomfortable. But everyone seemed very polite and friendly. So for the both is us it was $140. Honestly not bad for the amount of food you get. However, there was only two or three things on the entire menu I thought was good. The baked cheese and honey was the only thing I'd consider to be really good and worth eating. So t you go and like the cold food bar and most of the cuts of meats it's probably worth it. For me it wasn't. Not to mention the food I wanted to try like the beef rib and the meatballs were never even offered. Fail. Also, one thing that I thought was unappealing was the amount of gnats flying around the food bar and the restaurant. That's it a huge no-no. I know it's going to happen anywhere when you have food sitting out. But that doesn't mean I like it and it shouldn't happen. Overall it was an underwhelming experience. I don't plan on going back and I honestly can't recommend it. In fact I'd recommend avoiding Fogo de Chao. I'm giving it a two star rating for the service and for that baked cheese thing. Shame because I had high expectations for Fogo de Chao. The reality of those expectations weren't even close to what I expected and hoped for. read more

Always love coming here, but the last few times it's been obvious that the management is trying to turn tables as fast as they possibly can. There's no taking your time and enjoying the company you came with because your are constantly bombarded by the wait staff, even if your marker is flipped to red. It's a constant flow of people asking you what cut of meat you want sent over, how many more sides can they bring you. When 1 of them leaves another walks up 39 seconds later asking the same thing. First time we did the salad bar only and ordered the meat on the side, which is $18 per person and an extra ~$10 for the meat cuts. The food was good as usual, I really enjoyed the salad bar. The salads and charcuterie meats are really good, and the vegetables are fresh and fruit is delicious too. For the meat, it was a little over salted in my opinion and done a little too well compared to medium. Still pretty good overall. They brought over the cheese bread and the honey and cheese dessert was also included. I really was so so impressed with the service this time, it was exemplary! Today they were really on top of everything, we never had to ask for anything. Water was always refilled, they offered to take our finished plates and gave us clean ones, and even brought us utensils when we forgot them. The service was 5/5! Really made it feel like a luxurious dining experience. Ambiance is still upscale and nice, good for work meetings, meeting with friends, and dates. Everything is clean and it looks very posh. Will be coming back! Honestly 4.5 just for the service, I just wish the beef ribs or filet mignon could be ordered on the side but you can't.
