Ate here today for dinner after work. This is definitely my first time eating Argentinian food and I'm feeling really curious about what to choose and eat. I had ordered and tried the beef empanadas and pork chops with a side of mashed potatoes. As an overall, it was super good and delicious to put with chimichurri. The service there was also pleasant and very friendly. I couldn't agree more! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

The tragic life of a law student is that you are so burned out that you have to find random pockets of time to take yourself out, or you will lose your shit. So I took myself out here alone to prevent said meltdown. The staff was delightful! They got such a kick out of the solo customer that getting drunk by herself. I had a steak dinner and a whole pitcher of sangria. Not my proudest moment. But I was able to pay the bill and get an Uber home. Lmfao. Staff here is cool and lots of the customers are regulars, so they can easily tell if you are new. One lady was sweet and told me the meats here are great before she left. I'll be back. Great food and I enjoyed my time here.

Solid restaurant with an unfortunate location due to the parking situation in Jackson heights... Don't even know why I was surprised it took us 15 min to find parking haha They take reservations and the staff is very friendly, but English is not their first language. I need to learn Spanish :/ We started off with bread which was plain & warm... With cold butter. I'm not a bread person so I only had one bite. The salad is a must as a starter and definitely order steak at this steakhouse. They cook it quickly with very generous portions. The chimichurri is a bit on the saltier side, which I love on my steak. We also had the rice and mashed potatoes as side dishes- no complaints there. The seafood stew was filling, but also a bit salty so definitely eat it with rice. Very good sangria and stronger than expected

Amazing skirt steak and 28 oz. Porterhouse Steak

Very happy with dinner. We went out on a whim and decided to try this place because the reviews where so good and it paid off. Skirt steak was delicious and so was the Porterhouse. I think I enjoyed the porterhouse more just because I like porterhouse so much but there really wasn't one better than the other. The mashed potatoes where flavorful and the huge salad is perfect to go with this heavenly steak. They also give you complimentary bread that's excellent. Crunchy outside and soft and yummy inside. I wasn't really a fan of the red sangria and I can't tell you why I just didn't have a taste for it here. It is on the pricy side but it is quality food. Definitely will tell friends about this place and be back myself.

Have not been disappointed at this place and been coming here for years! Finally got a chance to make it back here for dinner since their reopening and I couldn't have been more satisfied. As an appetizer we ordered the Hot Antipasto which was a beauty my sister stopped everyone from taking a bite and made me take a picture.it came with mozzarella sticks, calamari, clams, shrimp, and mussels. One of my other favorite things to eat aside from any of the meat is their lobster bisque soup, gaucho pie, and any of their lunch specials.

Yay Yelp You've done it again! Cannot believe my husband has never been to this spot- this is so close to his old hood. We've been to other Argentinian spots in Elmhurst and surprisingly had a legit better spot in SD better than Elmhurst! So we were staying nearby and my husb was searching for some sweetbreads and chimichurri and Yelp followed through! Thanks Yelpies! Anyways, back to the goods, got the meet platter and although it says no substitutes I still asked for less chorizo and other meats and the waiter was easy going and said sure no problem! Yay, skirt steak, ribs, sweetbreads galore. Got the meal for 2 but it was more like a meal for 4! Can't wait to go back. Oh and the Best Part was the Chimichurri perfecto! Acid, herbs, garlic great balance, made us so happy for a last night but def. won't be our last time! Muchas Gracias!

One of the go to restaurants in the neighborhood. Whatever you order is going to be good. Gotta have the house salad as an appetizer.

So moving full steam ahead with acquiring as many points as possible with American airlines and my amex gold...La Cabana popped up on one of our recent searches for a new dining experience. Jackson heights has an amazing mix of food carts and restaurants and La Cabana did not disappoint. Previous reviews has this restaurant charging a little more than usual for an unknown steak house but I still wanted to try it out for myself. The night we walked in may have been a holiday one off with Xmas right around the corner. Their were tables pushed together to accommodate a few larger crowds but still it didn't bother me. The place had this awesome cooked meat scent just hanging in the air. My girl and I....carnivores that we are immediately looked for the host to seat us. After a few awkward minutes they found a table towards the back in between two large groups but all was well. Not knowing what to get we started with the cow tongue that's served cold with a nice lemon zest poured over the top. My girl always one to try the house wine went with her usual and for me a Spanish beer (forgot the name sorry). For entree's we decided to split a meat platter for two. After a short wait our drinks and app arrived. Cow tongue may not be for everyone and I've had it more than once but never with a lemon zest. A very good start to a gluttonous meat overload that we were not prepared for. When the entree showed up I thought they may have had the wrong table. Two flank steaks, two skirt steaks and two ribs all placed in a sizzling metal tray to pretty much go at any way you want. A very tasty chimichurri sauce was served as a compliment to the meat...as well as steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. We ordered our meat medium rare... because seriously any other way and your just lighting your money on fire. Cooked perfectly And so much left over that the next day my girl and I made steak and eggs and we still had steak left over. And all still medium rare. All told two beers house wine, one app and a tray of sizzled meat (cooked perfectly) $140 including tip.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive throughout the meal, and knew both the menu and specials inside and out. We started with the grilled octopus, house dips, and a thick-cut slice of bacon. The octopus was tender with a nice char, while the bacon delivered exactly what you'd expect from a steakhouse appetizer--simple, rich, and satisfying. For the main course, we shared a Porterhouse for Three and a ribeye, accompanied by mushroom risotto, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. The steaks were the highlight of the evening. Both had an outstanding crust while remaining perfectly cooked inside. The porterhouse in particular showcased why dry-aged beef has such a following. The mushroom risotto paired especially well with the ribeye, while the garlic mash and creamed spinach were classic steakhouse sides executed well. I also tried a Negroni before dinner, which proved to be a great choice and complemented the appetizers nicely. The dining room strikes a balance between upscale and comfortable, with an old-school steakhouse feel that lets the food and service take center stage. Great for a special occasion--we were celebrating both Father's Day and a birthday, and the experience felt worthy of the occasion. Christo's is not an inexpensive night out, but for excellent steaks, polished service, and an experience that feels special without being pretentious, it's money well spent.

We kicked things off with three bottles of Malbec, which was excellent and easily the highlight of the first round. The appetizers--Caesar and Baby Arugula salads, Fried Calamari, Lamb Cigars, and a half dozen each of oysters and clams--were just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. For mains, we went all in with Christo's Signature Porterhouse for 3 (63oz/$185), Charbroiled Salmon, Baby Lamb special, and a Sea Bass special. The steak was cooked well and had solid flavor--definitely the standout among the entrees. The seafood dishes were fine, but again, not particularly exceptional. We finished the night with a selection of desserts, which were nice but didn't quite redeem the meal. Service was courteous, and the ambiance definitely leans upscale and festive, but for the price point, the food was hit-or-miss. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not quite the wow factor we were hoping for on a holiday night.

Excellent shrimp in garlic as well. I went to this Argentine spot a couple of days ago with 6 others, having previously been to their long-running Corona location a good while ago. This new location, by comparison, has only been open for a few months. The spot is casual, and the staff is friendly. Before the rest arrived, a few people ordered drinks, including some Mexican beers and, for me, a Quilmes. As with their other location, they gave us some toasted bread and sausages to begin with, which were tasty. There was a nice fragrant chimichurri sauce on the table. We started with two appetizers. The better app was an obligatory one for Argentine parilladas, Provoleta, or Provolone a la Parrilla, listed as grilled provolone in oregano sauce for $11.90. There were also some olives and some yellow pickled peppers, and it was standard and tasty, with a mild oregano flavor. The other one was the $12.90 Ensalada de Aguacate, or in other words, an avocado salad, with some red wine vinegar, olive oil, and Italian dressing on the side. There was plenty of very good quality avocado in there, but the salad otherwise was boring, with mostly lettuce along with some sliced tomatoes, onions, and some cucumber. The main dishes, of course, consisted of two of their parillada, a mixed grill platter, with both of them being ordered medium rare. The first one was their standard Parillada Para Dos o Tres Personas with skirt steak, short rib, sweetbread, tripe, kidney, and two sausages; black and Argentine. For the 2/3 person portion, it was $65.90, and it came with two sides. The Skirt Steak/Entraña on both this and the other mixed platter was wonderful, being tender and juicy with plenty of beef flavor. The Short Ribs/Costillas were flavorful, though a tad fatty. In terms of the achuras, or offal, my favorite of the bunch was the Sweetbreads/Mollejas, being perfectly cooked with a soft texture. I also loved the Tripe/Tripa, which more resembled intestines, which were clearly cleaned very well, as they lacked any gamey flavor. The texture otherwise was nice, and this was most of the others' favorite offal. The Kidney/Riñón was most of the other people's least favorite, with the strongest flavor, but as someone who likes liver, I still enjoyed it to an extent. In terms of sausages, the Argentine Sausage/Chorizo had a mild flavor, and the Morcilla/black sausage was excellent with a snappy casing and a very mild iron flavor. Compared to last time, this was even better. The more expensive of the mixed grills we got was the Parillada Especial Para Dos o Tres Personas, with more skirt steak, along with Flat Steak, flat rib, short rib, shell steak, and sirloin steak. This was $80.90 with 2 sides, and was also excellent. My least favorite, as before, was the short ribs, with the rest of the steaks having a mix of textures, with my probable favorites being the Flat/Vacio and the Sirloin/Cuadril. It was a ton of perfectly cooked meat, but it felt a bit boring by comparison this time, with the offal being so good on the other platter, compared to the other location. Our only other main dish was the $25.90 Camarones al Ajillo, or shrimp sauteed in garlic sauce, which was also served with one side. For a steak place, the shrimp here were better than most steakhouses, being plump and juicy. The delicious garlic sauce paired wonderfully and was especially good with the various sides. This was an expected hit and a necessary bite between all the various meats. For the free sides, we got two of the Plátanos Maduros, along with Arroz con Habichuelas, Ensalada Rusa, and Papas a la Provencal. Our favorites were the sweet plantains and the rice, especially with the meat juices or garlic sauce added. The Russian potato salad reminded me of a thicker version of salad Olivier, with plenty of mayo. The papas were the plainest, and I presume the Papas Frita/French Fries were better, but we chose not to order them. As we were already very full with a bit of leftovers, the postres/dessert was Panqueques Con Dulce De Leche for $9.90. These consist of crepes filled with milk caramel, and they were rich and tasty. It was great to share, and it was a good ending to the meal. We gave a generous tip, got leftovers, and still spent around $38 a person for some excellent food. Would recommend heavily, just like their other location. Rounding up to 5, or rather cinco estrellas.

The other consideration is that the meats cook at their own pace in the BBQ pit, which naturally slows things down regardless of how hungry you are. That said, my wife and I were both satisfied by the end of the meal. We ate our fill and left happy, which is ultimately the goal. The food was genuinely good -- good enough that I actually enjoyed this meal more than some of the higher end Korean BBQ spots I have visited. That says something. I will be back. The value is solid and the experience delivered. Though I have to be honest -- nothing in this city touches the hole in the wall Korean BBQ spots in Flushing. Those are in a league of their own.
