Great food, friendly staff, nice and cool covered outdoor dining area. We loved everything about our meal, from the delicious lattés to the mangoes! We ordered at the bar and got a table number to bring with us to our seat of choice. They have big fans outside, which helped a lot with keeping us cool in the late morning. We didn't have to wait long for our iced lattés to come, and our server brought us water with glasses soon after. Our food came out shortly after that, and everything was delicious! I was just a little sad that there weren't any hot sauces or additional salsas offered, but that is the only criticism I have. Confidently 5/5 stars for Foko - we visited Louisville for 4 days and this was the best meal I had the entire time. Food is Mexican, with some Tex mex like burritos and bowls, supplemented with true Mexican elements such as roasted vegetables, chorizo, chilaquiles, and a mole sauce so smooth I wanted a jar of it! Vegan and gluten free options. I really enjoyed the Silly Bowl, added egg and chorizo, plus the Mango bowl with tajin is a delight for dessert or on the side. My dining partner said the breakfast burrito was "truly perfect" because it was compact, not overfilled, with great variety in texture and taste. Then, the drinks. I'm a hot tea drinker and rarely satisfied with hot tea out. But my goodness, their xocolatl chai is so full bodied and smooth, and then you can add milk (I chose the Pecan Horchata which made it a delicacy of spicy, deep, earthy flavor). Plus, the service is simple, kind, and efficient. Order at the bar, sit where you like, water bottle for the table. Easy peasy. Something has changed here, and not for the better. This used to be a breakfast favorite of my wife and I but sadly not anymore. Today my wife ordered waffles and I had strawberry pancakes. They were both undercooked to the point of being inedible. What ever changed in the kitchen is enough to keep us from returning. Want a good breakfast experience, try first watch. Foko is magic. Vendor turnover at Logan Street Market has been a little more active than I would prefer. Some businesses graduate to bigger spaces, while others founder and call it quits. But Foko seems to be the heart of the market, if not the neighborhood. From day one they set a remarkably high bar for food quality. I could throw a dart at the menu and be happy with whatever I hit. But they've also created a culture here. La Pana is essentially a spin-off enterprise. The Tumbao Collective, a Tuesday Afro-Latin dance party, is too. The t-shirts all say Foko Familia. Unfortunately, the food was way too good and I was way too hungry to get pictures. I ordered the Silly Bowl with Chicken. The concept was really cool, you walk in and order right away. Once you play your order you seat yourself and they bring it straight to you. Super cohesive and efficient process. The server was really great too. Overall great experience. I chose it for the vegan options they had, as well as the regular menu options. There was also a really good spread drink wise if that's your thing. Ordered the breakfast burrito, that came with a side of chilaquiles. Burrito was FANTASTIC, loved the beans and the salsa had a great flavor and kick. Chilaquiles were also really well done and delicious. The espresso martini, which took a lot longer than to receive than it should have, was the best one I've ever had!! However, don't come here if you're looking to feel welcomed or serviced. I felt like I was an inconvenience and burden to the girl taking my order. Their bar seating doesn't enjoy "table service" either, as you still need to get up and walk the 5 feet to end of the bar to order. My friend politely waited MANY minutes to request a to-go box when the person taking orders was mid a personal conversation. The space is adorable and it still has the art gallery feel to it. I will go back because I did go for the food and it was excellent but I do hope their customer service improves. read more

I'll start by saying that in my opinion, the "wake up" breakfast burrito with chorizo is top 3 in the city. I had them put the side chilaquiles IN the burrito for some crunch/carbs, definitely a game changer and my god it was sooo good!! I wouldn't change a thing... The pork belly I got was also good, but not my favorite and probably was something I wouldn't get again. Just had a bit too much fat on it for me but others might like it. Also the side chilaquiles on its own is delicious too. This spot is definitely one of the best vendors in logan street market. The vendors in the market seem to come and go but I feel like this one will last a long time. I do wish they had another brick n' mortar location in the city, that would be nice. My only small issues is that it is slightly pricey (but still worth it) and everything is made to order so it can take some time. I do wish they had a few more items on the menu, especially for lunch. Adding a torta regular burrito or some nachos would be awesome (I think they do specials). I'll definitely be back for that breakfast burrito and hopefully other things as well! read more

Who knew Louisville had such a fantastic food scene?? I am basing this off the three restaurants we ate at during our time here, Foko being the absolute top of the list. We were unsure of what we wanted (mostly because we wanted half the menu), but the sweet girl at the register gave us some suggestions. We ended up getting the chicken empanadas, the chilakiles, and the avocado toast with a fried egg on top. The empanadas were so yum. The outside was flaky and crunchy; the inside was creamy and flavorful, and the dipping sauce...THE DIPPING SAUCE..some sort of chipotle laced concoction that must have come from Heaven's Cookbook. We may have eaten our way thru three servings of the sauce and taken some home with us as well. The avocado toast was on a thick piece of sourdough from La Pana bakery, also a must visit if you are in the area. The over medium fried egg was perfectly cooked, perfectly complimenting the fresh avocado and pickled jalapeños. And of course we drizzled THE SAUCE on it. My chilakiles were sooooo good, crunchy and savory and everything tasted SO fresh. On top of all that, the ambiance was very cute and welcoming, and the staff was precious. We ended up having conversations with a few different staff members, which is my favorite thing to do, and everyone was super nice. It seemed like they were a very cohesive team. My only complaint is that we live in Alabama and won't be able to go back next weekend. But mark my words, Foko, we WILL see you again! read more

Came here on a Sunday morning. I wasn't very hungry regrettably was not able to try the food. I did have an amazing latte! The ambiance is adorable and it's locally owned. No longer inside Logan street market. The menu did look awesome. I will definitely be back and try somethings soon! Looks like they offer a good menu for all diets, vegan included. The space looked small but there was outdoor seating that when it's warm will be nice. And there may have been more room in the back but not certain. read more

Burrito tasted fresh, soft and was super easy to chew. The chilaquiles on the side are best described as pleasantly soggy nachos. Only thing I will call them out on is the name, this is more like a Knock you the F* Out Burrito! My girlfriend had a Bam Pambazo (she's a carnivore), she loved every bite of it, eggs / chorizo / pork / awesome mashed potatoes. She added a side of bacon and could not finish aka the Bam Pambazo has more than enough meat for most carnivores! Juice -- Definitely fresh squeezed from good oranges, they even use a hand press -- well worth the $4.5 Chips -- So freaking crispy even several hours later... if you let them sit in the bag, the bag gets shinier than you'd see on a cheesesteak in Philly -- bargain for $2 Pro-Tip: Ask for hot sauce even if you don't like hot sauce. I heard great things about this place, unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that I am not too much a fan of eggs, and their menu is very egg heavy. Now that the preface is out of the way, I got the breakfast tacos (which had egg in it, I tried not to mind it) and they seemed just to really lack flavor. My mom ordered the silly bowl with no egg or meat additions to it and said her meal lacked flavor as well. The restaurant itself was very cute though! We had an amazing breakfast only surpassed by the even more amazing customer service we received when we picked up. The young man at the counter was pleasant. He carried on a great conversation and made our encounter feel personal. Through the mask and all, you could feel the genuineness of his tone and visibly see the smile in his eyes. In so much time of uncertainty, it was great to feel that kindness and we are thankful. To add too it.... the food was amazing. We ordered the Papi Beshear Biscuits and Gravy. The homemade biscuits are fluffy and not overly dry. The chicken is seasoned well which makes it perfect with or without the gravy provided. The aoili is on point but I definitely wish they would've given me a bit more on the massive chicken piece lol We also had the Wake Up Louisville Burrito with bacon. The flavors are smooth and savory and the sauce packs a good punch. It honestly is one of my favorite breakfast burritos in the Ville. As for the pancakes. You can never wrong with Dulce de leche anything. I love that they seem to be made of some sort of corn meal similar to the corn bread cakes. The pancakes on their own are kind of sweet and buttery even without the syrup they provide. Overall.... I'm soooo impressed with them, especially when I ordered a quesadilla and they give you mashed potatoes with it. Who wouldn't want some mashed potatoes with a quesadilla? Logan Street Market can be a little chaotic on a Saturday (here's where I wished they were even bigger than they already are) and it can be tight fighting for a spot at a skinny table. Which in turn makes the food runners harder to find the food owner, but that's just wishful thinking of expansion. Back to the real reason we're here, it's the food. I was highly impressed with the food and how it came together with a nice side of Mexican BBQ sauce. For $10, I was quite full and finished every bite as I couldn't waste the quesadilla. Stopped by Logan Street Market today and Foko was recommended by a friend. First of all, the guys were super nice. I caught them practicing dancing. They told me that Logan Street Market has a dancing lesson every Tuesday at 6:00 pm! I am going to have to get LeeB down there and see what we can learn! He walked me through the menu, and I ordered the slow-cooked pork burritos and fried chicken tacos to take home to LeeB. They gave me a little buzzer and started to work on the meal, all freshly cooked. I hung out with my friend as we sipped Bobo Fete Bubble Tea and people watched. That's the great thing about Logan Street Market, it is always busteling with people. I picked up my food and drove home to Crestwood as quickly as possible. Lee and I were really surprised at how much food there was!! I never saw our takeout containers open. The burrito is one of those handy ones with the rice rolled in. When you bite into it, all you can do is say, "Oh wow...." it is so good. And grande! It was cut into two parts and for us, each part is a meal! The fried chicken tacos were simply amazing. The chicken is those yummy meaty, crunchy strips and it sits on top of mashed potatoes....yes, mashed potatoes in a taco!! And you will be so glad you tried it. The blue corn tortilla was fresh and soft. I ate one of those (three to an order) and a couple bites of burrito, and was totally full. We will have enough for 2 more meals!! They additionally offered me mild or hot sauce to top off my plate.I took his plate outside to eat.They had ample seating and I found a picnic table with an umbrella which was perfect.
