Logan Street Market can be a little chaotic on a Saturday (here's where I wished they were even bigger than they already are) and it can be tight fighting for a spot at a skinny table. Which in turn makes the food runners harder to find the food owner, but that's just wishful thinking of expansion. Back to the real reason we're here, it's the food. I was highly impressed with the food and how it came together with a nice side of Mexican BBQ sauce. For $10, I was quite full and finished every bite as I couldn't waste the quesadilla. Stopped by Logan Street Market today and Foko was recommended by a friend. First of all, the guys were super nice. I caught them practicing dancing. They told me that Logan Street Market has a dancing lesson every Tuesday at 6:00 pm! I am going to have to get LeeB down there and see what we can learn! He walked me through the menu, and I ordered the slow-cooked pork burritos and fried chicken tacos to take home to LeeB. They gave me a little buzzer and started to work on the meal, all freshly cooked. I hung out with my friend as we sipped Bobo Fete Bubble Tea and people watched. That's the great thing about Logan Street Market, it is always busteling with people. I picked up my food and drove home to Crestwood as quickly as possible. Lee and I were really surprised at how much food there was!! I never saw our takeout containers open. The burrito is one of those handy ones with the rice rolled in. When you bite into it, all you can do is say, "Oh wow...." it is so good. And grande! It was cut into two parts and for us, each part is a meal! The fried chicken tacos were simply amazing. The chicken is those yummy meaty, crunchy strips and it sits on top of mashed potatoes....yes, mashed potatoes in a taco!! And you will be so glad you tried it. The blue corn tortilla was fresh and soft. I ate one of those (three to an order) and a couple bites of burrito, and was totally full. We will have enough for 2 more meals!! I've been to the market many times, but this was my first time eating at Foko. I had my eye set on the chiliquiles. I had only heard good things and had found great pictures about them. They were friendly and taking my order and they gave me a little number so I could walk around the market while I was waiting for my food. When it buzzed, I went back for my order. I received a beautiful plate of chips, eggs, and sauce. They additionally offered me mild or hot sauce to top off my plate.I took his plate outside to eat.They had ample seating and I found a picnic table with an umbrella which was perfect. My plate was visually beautiful. And the food match the Appearance. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The pickled onions were a very tasty surprise coupled with the chips and the eggs. Grabbed a steak taco from here upon a recent visit to LSM. I wasn't very hungry but needed a little something and opted for just 1 taco. My steak taco had flank steak, bell peppers, onions, cilantro, cheese, and I added avocado. The taco was $3.50 and the avocado was $1. This taco was yummy but I quickly realized that it was probably a mistake to only get 1 as I should've tried a couple or maybe even add something else since my one was so yummy. The gentleman that was waiting on people was super friendly and helpful. Even taking orders out to people if they weren't immediately standing nearby waiting. Friendly worker here stopped us as we were walking through the market. He asked us if we had ever been there and told us all about Foko and the new bakery that is coming soon. So that's exciting to hear about that! We were just looking for a snack, so we got the guacamole and chips to share. The guacamole was so fresh and tasty and the chips were homemade and crispy! Foko has become one of my favorite spots to go for brunch! Especially for a girls' outing or intimate date. I would recommend calling ahead of time before arriving just because some mornings can be really packed/busy. I fell in love with their Strawberry Pancakes and Banana Nut Waffles, their hot matcha latte is very good too! I'm not too big on Matcha flavored things, but Foko definitely convinced me otherwise. If you're into drinks, the Espresso Martini is a must try, as well as their Mimosas. My friends ordered the Wake-Up Burrito and The Silly Bowl, they were both very colorful and flavorful. The ambiance has a lot of natural lighting, especially in their gallery area. The service is nice, the bartenders are helpful and patient and make ordering feel easy, even when you're not sure what to get. Do you ever look at the review highlights to see what people like so you know what to order? Yeah, don't worry about that here. Seriously, you can't go wrong. I haven't tried everything, but they are so darned reliable in serving up delicious, quality, thoughtfully prepared food that I would try anything they make. Their menu has changed over time and they have expanded their offerings. Tacos are a more recent addition and I really enjoy them. They're simple but everything, including the tortillas, is made in house. Those tortillas are FRESH. It's worth noting that they deliver on more than just conventional Mexican food. I love biscuits but I usually don't order biscuits and gravy because I don't like the traditional sausage gravy that is the usual accompaniment. This gravy is something else though. I don't know what's in it ... happiness, maybe? In any case it is, as the youths say, straight fire. I know people like to get their Topo Chico fix here but for drinks I recommend the avo-lime juice or the jamaica auga fresca. We were fans before the pandemic, but our appreciation for Foko has only deepened during social distancing. We try to spread the love around when getting take-out but they are in regular rotation. Between Diego's amazing pastries and the constant innovations by Chef Paco and the team, we can't help but keep coming back for more! Delicious food and good folks. The first time I got to try the food from Foko was at a Yelp Elite event at Trouble Bar. It was tasty and I vowed to return to their spot in Logan Street Market soon! But then....many things happened that prevented that from occurring for many months (personal things requiring tightening of purse strings....and you know, a pandemic closing everything everywhere). But as things started opening up a bit, food delivery was expanding, and carry out became more feasible (for me)...I decided to act on those things. A friend and I walked over to LSM with the intent of buying lunch to bring home and eat. We settled on Foko because...burritos. We each ordered a burrito to bring home, which we then cut in half so we both got to try both burritos! The Wake Up Louisville is a great breakfast burrito and the Fine Herb Pollo is superb. Even after about 20 minutes in their boxes jostling about on our walk home, they were still warm and delicious, and surprisingly not so soggy that they fell apart when picked up to be eaten. Y'all! If you haven't been to Foko you are missing out. You need to go as soon as you can. Trust me, it's that good! Foko offers up Mexican-inspired Southern dishes that simply can't be beat. Everything on the menu is delicious, but a few of my favorites include the Wake Up Burrito, Breakfast Tacos, and Biscuit n' Gravy. Seriously, the biscuit and gravy is insane. I'm from Kentucky, so I've grown up eating biscuits and gravy. This dish is just perfect! It's a buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, jalapeno gravy, and a local sunny side up egg. When you break the egg yolk and mix it all together, it's an explosion of flavor. It's not wholly traditional, but it's better than that! The menu is large enough to offer up something for everyone. Even now, during the pandemic when they're only offering curbside service, they still have an amazing menu with some awesome options! In addition they offer up many drink options, and now they're baking bread, and it is phenomenal! I went through an entire loaf last week, and I'm getting another today. It's that good. Top notch! Very friendly and helpful staff. I got the pork tacos and added avocado. Wow they were juicy and great on their own, but with the sauce - sooo good. Their tortillas are made in house. Even the side of veggies were good (I love veggies though) - they were zucchini and sweet potato mixed and I got a pretty large portion. Everything was fresh and perfect for lunch. The majority of their staff is from or has family ties to Mexico, & it shows in the thoughtfully paired elements of each dish. It especially showed up in their Louisville Burger Week creation, the Tlayugueza! It was by far my favorite burger option of the week thus far. The delicious burger patty is sandwiched between two tlayudas for some Me i can street food flare. One side featured a black bean paste & the other melted Asiago cheese. It was topped with greens, pickled red onions, & a spicy mayo-mustard. As a bonus we got to try their puff pastry with cinnamon custard (made from scratch) by one of their incredibly talented team members. I love their location in Logan Street Market & the simple overall menu that features options for every meal of the day. The staff is all welcoming, helpful & excited to have you enjoy their food. We went to FOKO for Louisville Burger week for the first time and we were not disappointed. We had the TLAYUGUEZA BURGER which the restaurant describes as "A Mexican twist on an American Classic. The perfect combination of the classic diner style burger and Oaxacan street food staple, the Tlayuda. Smashed patty with spicy mayo-mustard, pickled red onions, lettuce and tomato. Sandwiched between two Tlayudas, one with a black bean spread, the other with melted asiago". This burger was delicious, I loved the complexity of the different ingredients which when reading it didn't but sound like it would be any good but they melded perfectly. This is in the Logan Street Market. I went here for lunch after church with friends and had a wonderful, quick meal. I had the special which was biscuits and gravy with friend chicken. Ordering was quick, the people were friendly, and the food took an appropriate amount of time (not too quick, not too slow). You eat in the food court area which is either pretty tight or I'm fatter than I think. I can't hold the cleanliness of the food court against Foko, I'm not sure how much of it is on them. If I had known the orange juice was going to be so tiny I'd have stuck to water and not spent $4 on it. I'm not basing my review on that, it's just a bit of information. read more

Foko is located inside of the Logan Street Market, and I must say that it is great! Logan Street Market has a lot of appeal, so I can also vouch for the whole place. There's a multitude of food and drink vendors, as well as local retail and even a place to take cooking classes. Outside you will likely find several vendors also. Back to Foko. There are a few things I can give feedback about, which I feel are pretty important. First the service is really good for a place of this type. You walk up and order your food, then pick it up and find a table in a common eating area, similar to a small food court. The manager was super friendly, and shared a little about the restaurant and the team. You could tell he really enjoyed what he does and he enjoyed his team. I came back after getting my food, and asked for salt and pepper for something my wife ordered. He came across the seating area to our table, with a couple small containers of salt and pepper, which improved my perception of their level of service. I ordered the Wake Up Burrito, which was fantastic! It was very filling and the sauce with it added a nice little spice. Don't use it if you're sensitive to spicy food!
