Fond is a great place to eat. We stopped in the first time because the another restaurant was closed. We have eaten there for lunch, dinner and the chef's table, trying most things on the menu over time. The food is better than Merriman's. Don't let the minimalist atmosphere deter you. The food is equivalent to Michelin starred restaurants where I have dined, particularly the chef's table meals. The simple foods are done well and the creative foods are a taste treat. The chef is excellent. The sauces with the foods are a delight. It is THE restaurant we recommend to any friends visiting Maui. We schedule the restaurant into our vacation it is so good. This was an amazing little neighborhood find we stumbled upon thanks to a long line at another local overrated restaurant. We enjoyed brunch at Fond and it was knocked out! Hands down some of the best food we have eaten while here. Between us we ate a lot- I had the shakshuka which was prepared perfectly and even had flash fried kale on the top for a nice crispy but healthy touch. Kids and hubby had a Benedict, short stack, Hawaiian omelette and egg white frittata which they all loved as well. To top it off everyone working was so nice which is so huge! I was given recognition the moment I walked in and was seated at my table and given all the essentials i would need to begin. Silverware, appetizer plate, a glass of water with a reasonable amount of ice, napkins, alongside a menu .They gave about 3-4 minutes to make up my mind on what I would order and without hesitation they knew I was ready and came over. I ordered and was only waiting for a small amount of time no more than 8 minutes. The food came out looking like something you see in a commercial and my mouth was watering in seconds. Fond was one of the best restaurants we ate at on the island during our stay. We were able to make a reservation the day-of, which is really hard to come by in Maui. What a find! Chef-owned Fond has imaginative, delicious food, as well as some updated old favorites. Great and fast service. The place feels very Covid-safe, with an oversized garage door open to the fresh air, and a very high ceiling with fans. We've been once so far and plan to return at least twice more during our two-week vacation. The Seafood Tsunami is delicious. My husband was absolutely thrilled with the special: fresh (farmed) rainbow trout with watercress and spring peas. We also recommend the potato wedges. The prices were lower than we would have expected for the high quality of the food and the modern urban vibe. We shared the cookie sundae for dessert. We would have preferred more ice cream and fewer cookies, but - hey! - since our only quibble about the entire dinner is that it included too many cookies, we clearly loved the place! read more

I'm one to always get the buttermilk breakfast platter but I wanted to branch out and try their famous bowls. So so so good! I went with my parents so we all got to try a different style. I got the adosilog, which is basically their adobo style of making it! It comes with fried rice, and some pickled veggies, it also comes with a sauce on the pork.. best part is that it's pork belly :) my mom got the longsilog and it comes in a patty style but they make their longganisa in house! Very flavorful and yummy! Lastly my dad got the salsilog, seasoned just right! Also, don't forget to get their tater tots too! Amazing service and yummy food! We're gonna be regulars here for sure!
