They have a mani-pedi deal for $30. This is per a big sign in front of the salon so I'm not sure if it is subject to change but its a pretty big sign. Great deal. Its a new shop, clean. The women were nice enough but, and while I don't expect that anyone converse with me while working on my nails, it was very odd that the woman working on mine just completely ignored me and kept talking to another client who was being worked on by another worker. And even weirder is that client seemed hardly interested in speaking to her. Anyway, I just want a quality job and I was not impressed. - The pedicure was great. The woman who did mine took her time and I enjoyed the hot rocks massage! - The manicure was somewhat painful. - My nails were trimmed stubby - with just a bit of length and I came in with long nails! - After the work was done, a dryer was moved to my lap and I sat and waited for them to dry. About 10 minutes later the worker who did my nails came by and said you're done. After I walked out, I damaged 2 nails that had not dried completely. Sorry I can't come back here even for a good deal. I would pay more for a manicure that looks good for longer than 1 hour. read more

They do an awesome job on Gel-Manicures. I worked in Los Altos so it was convenient for me, but sometimes I would drive all the way from my place in South San Jose to get my nails done here! They take their time, not too thick on the polish, and have a good amount of options to choose from.They are gentle and precise and always do a great job. Pedicures aren't bad, but I've had better, so I stick to this place for my gel-mani and another place for my pedicures. They get busy! A new salon in downtown Los Altos worth checking out. Forever Nail Spa has ample parking in a quiet, uncrowded part of downtown Los Altos with bright, spacious, inviting decor. Initially, I was unhappy with my nail technician's inability to follow my request of not cutting my cuticles, however, I was pleasantly surprised when a second nail technician took over my french manicure as soon as she was completed with her own client. Bonus: Nail technician #2 was not satisfied with the initial shaping of my nails (I wasn't either) nor was she satisfied with the bright white polish used for the french tip. Wow. She probably has dozens of clients each day yet she took the time to reshape and reapply polish for more of the American French manicure look, to ensure I had a great manicure. Bonus #2: Michael, the owner, kindly discounted my service for mentioning that I had used Yelp to find their salon and then also shared with me a $10 off certificate for my next visit. Sidenote: my nails had not been dry for more than 2 minutes and the clock had not yet struck 7 pm when both my nail technicians quickly said goodbye to the owner and left. I felt a bit rushed and blindsided when I was left to dry my nails with the owner. It would have been nice if I had been first to leave before anyone working at the salon. Give Forever Nail Spa a try; they were pleasant enough in cleanliness and customer service that I would go back to give them a second try. read more

I'm reading a lot of so-so reviews about this place but I don't understand why? The service I received here was great, I was greeted promptly and seated promptly for my pedicure. The chairs are really comfortable, and the salon is spacious and clean. My pedicurist was Hana and she was really nice and did a really good job on my pedicure. She was patient and took her time doing each individual task (Removing polish, trimming, cuticles, massage, hot stone massage, applying new nail color). After my pedicure was done, the salon had closed and they did not rush me out. They moved me to another massage chair for my toenails to be dried. I enjoyed my experience here a lot. I unfortunately don't come to the Los Altos area often, but when I do I will definitely keep this place in mind. read more

I recently moved in with my boyfriend who lives in Mountain View. I was in desperate need of a pedicure, so went on yelp for help. Found this place and went on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was great, everyone was extremely helpful and nice. The only down side was the fact that the side of my big toe is pretty raw as they scrubbed the heck out of it, which is a good thing til I went to the pool and the chlorine burned it. Even with that slight issue, I gave them 5 stars for this fact alone. The minute I walked and told them what I wanted they went back and got a liner for the pedicure spa, I have never been to a nail salon that has done this before and it makes me feel very good knowing that they are taking safety seriously!! I have been looking for a good, less expensive place to get a pedi. I have tried many places around the Peninsula, and I must say that Forever nails is IT. When you walk into the salon you immediately feel relaxed. The decor is tasteful; Forever nails doesn't have that "nail salon" feel. I made an appointment, so the owner already was expecting me when I walked in. I was greeted with a warm smile and a cup of tea. The salon has comfy massage chairs and a magazine rack with reaching distance from the chair, which is nice. There is also a tv, but it is kept at a low volume as not to disrupt the relaxing spa-like atmosphere. I liked that there wasn't a foot basin connected to the chair like at many nail salons. They brought a fresh basin of water and put it on this vibrating platform. Annie did my pedi and Heather did my mani. Both ladies did a fabulous job and were extremely nice. The salon is also very clean. Both technicians open fresh tools in front of me, so I knew that they sterile and didn't have to worry where they had been. When my nails were done, they brought a dryer right to my chair instead. I liked this because it allowed me to continue to relax instead of being rushed out of the chair to a separate drying table. I was able to take my time and leave at my leisure instead of being rushed out with wet nails and a fear of ruining the paint. I was a bit skeptical when I discovered that I could get a mani/pedi for $30. I have been to some places with comparable prices, but have been disappointed by the service. Forever nails offers quality service without breaking the bank. I was also given a punch card and a coupon for $10 off my next visit. Needless to say that I WILL be returning! read more

Wow! I got a mani pedi for 32 (for kids twelve and under; Its 39 for regular) and they did a great job! They did hot stones, nice massage and all for that price? Extremely slow service, if you have all day to get some work done, this is the place for you! I went to do a simple take off, remove fake gel nals and it took 90 minutes to do 9 nails, that's right 9 because they were not able to do the 10th finger!! I was going to go with 4 stars, but as I wrote my review I realized I cannot support that high of a rating with the way they provide services. I must admit the service has stepped down a notch or two since they first opened. I haven't seen the original owner/man in the shop in a long time. Maybe he moved on/sold to another asian family/people/dunno. Long review, short: They still do a pretty okay job. I either go here or another in Santa Clara, depending on where my day takes me. The salon IS kept clean, tools ARE sanitized, and there are TONS of color options, etc. My main gripe is that the 8-minute massage that they originally advertised has disappeared. Hand massages severely severely lack, while the leg ones are a little longer. BUT still, I'm never satisfied with the amount of time they spend, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's more like mayyyybe three minutes maximum when getting a pedicure. Hands, more like one. The massage is half of the reason I go to get my nails done, because sometimes I feel as though I can paint them even better than the ladies. Totally c'est la vie because I'm a perfectionist, and much more relaxing having someone else do it, so I get that the polish will not be perfectperfect. But I expect to have a nice relaxing massage experience and sometimes leave totally disappointed. It doesn't help that I feel obligated to tip, but I've stopped doing that if they half ass on me. read more

Decent pedi for a decent price.

I've previously visited Pinky Nail Spa in Cupertino, Pinkies Nail Salon at Los Altos and QT Nails at Santa Clara... and I'm soooo glad I've finally found a clean, sanitized, quiet Nail Salon in the bay area. I found this place through yelp and thought I'll give it a try with the yelp promotion going on. First thought when I got there was that the ambiance of this nail salon is very different compared to Pinky and QT Nails. There's a large flat screen TV for girls that are getting their manicure and comfortable massaging chairs during your pedicure. The nail technicians were very polite and constantly checked if I was okay with the water temperature, massaging, nails, etc. Their nail polish selection was also extensive, mostly OPI. One thing I really liked too was that Kim, the nail technician was the only person working on my manicure and pedicure during my session so I was basically able to read my magazines during my pedicure compared to when I would have two technicians working on my nails and I'll just be staring off into space (luckily Forever Nail has a TV so that shouldn't be a problem even if that were the case). I'll probably be a regular here unless their quality changes. Oh...They also have a punch card for a free nail service after a certain number of visits and freaking hot stone for the pedicure! Great deal! Drawbacks: The promotion mentioned $10 off for any service $30 and above. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE STANDARD MANI/PEDI. Be sure to confirm with the owner ahead of time before going to make sure the discount applies to the service that you're interested in. I love this place. They did such a fabulous job on my shellac manicure and pedicure. They were so attentive to every detail and spent over an hour perfecting my French tip shellac manicure. They tips were all even and perfectly lined. And the quality of the manicure is just unbeatable. My manicure lasted close to a month until I started picking at it. The same comments can go for my pedicure as well. It's been a month and a half and it still looks great. My pedicure wasn't even shellac! My mom had the exact experience as well. Even her regular manicure lasted over 3 weeks and she's rough with her hands! I wish I had a similar nail salon here in San Diego but alas I don't. The pedicure service was OK; my mom used to give me pedicures and I'm always comparing to they way she used to do it. Mani-pedi for $30! The pedicure was absolutely perfect. I had Jenny and she was very meticulous and checked and rechecked to make sure that each nail was exactly what it needed to be. For the manicure, I had Annie and I decided to go with the French finish (an extra $5). Upon close inspection, the manicure is less than perfect but I think she was newer than Jenny and she spent much longer on my fingers than Jenny did on my toes. So even though there are multiple minor flaws, it was definitely due to her inexperience over inattention. And somehow that makes it ok. They were both really nice and I enjoyed talking to them while they were working on my nails. The shop itself is clean and well-lit. Parking was definitely not an issue. Basically, it was a good deal for $30. I wouldn't recommend this place for something special like prom or a wedding but it was great for regular maintenance. Update July 2010: Unfortunately I have to deduct one star. I have been back to Forever twice since this review. On one occasion, the manicurist was so rough with the towel on the cuticles that my nails bled. Not good. The second occasion, the manicurist was rushed and was also not very gentle. I'll give them one more try since my first experience was very good and the place is convenient, clean, and reasonably priced. I'm very picky about my nail places so was hesitant to try a new place. I decided to give Forever Nails a try and am so glad I did. This is my new favorite place and I don't have to trek all the way to Palo Alto to get a decent, clean, and reasonably priced mani/pedi. Sandy (my technician) was meticulous and very gentle. The place is very clean -- they use the separate plastic foot tubs rather than the not as sanitary built in tubs. The customer service was amazing -- at the end of the service, the owner actually sat down next to me to ask me how everything went. He genuinely cares and deserves to have a successful business! They currently are offering an introductory special for $29.99 for mani/pedi (including hot stone massage) which cannot be beat in this area. I am already looking forward to going back! read more

I've had good experiences here and a couple of very average. Communication is a big problem, since most of the people here don't speak english. On the phone when I'm setting an appointment, the gentleman in charge never understands that I'm asking for a specific technician - so I rarely ever get her to do my nails. A group of friends and I all got mani/pedis, and I must say their pedicures were AMAZING!!! I'm talking all the bells and whistles, massage chair and foot rub and hot stones and all... I thought for sure I would wind up paying a small fortune for this, but each pedicure was only $20! And the polish has lasted for two weeks now (I know with pedis that's typical, since wearing shoes helps, but I figured still worth mentioning). The reason I only gave this salon a 4 is because the manicures we got really only lasted for 48 hours before they started to crack and chip. Luckily we were all getting them for the very next day, so in the grand scheme of things no big deal, but I was kind of hoping it would last longer. IN SUMMARY, go for the pedicures!!! read more

I Came here after attempting many other nail salons in the area (none of which were up to standard). I called at 9:30 on a Friday morning and walked in 30 min later to have a mani and pedi. I was the only one there and they treated me like royalty. Lyly worked on my manicure while Jenny did my pedicure, they both took their time trimming my cuticles and filing my nails just the way I liked them. I will have to say the massage was with an oil of some sort which I didn't really care for because it felt like the ladies were massaging my hands and feet without any product. It just felt like a dry massage, but besides that my hands and feet look amazing and I would definitely come back! Also,the older lady who runs the salon does a great job at eyebrow waxing; she fixed up the uneven wax job that another nail place did! If you go; request Jenny or Lyly and ask them to use lotion for the massage, instead of the oil. read more

Have you heard of a nail salon that does not do refills on a particular day of the week? I called in morning to set an appointment for a refill and I was told Kim did the refills and she does not work on Tuesdays. The receptionist told me to call back tomorrow and schedule an appointment... I didn't want a refill tomorrow I wanted it today. I just can't comprehend how a full service nail salon cannot do refills on Tuesdays because the refill lady is off on Tuesdays. I mean do they use a special technology to do refills?! Had an hour or two to kill between class and yoga today. Realizing that I wouldn't be able to relax in down-dog while looking down at my half painted toe nails, I searched for the closest nail establishment and stubbled across forever nail spa. Located right in the heart of downtown Los Altos, I went in fully expecting to pay for the world's most expensive pedicure. I was mistaken. Only $23 for spa pedicure!!!! This is actually one of the cheapest nail salons I've ever stubbled upon! Service was great, I was a walk-in and I had to wait about 15 mins which was no biggy because I was lounging in a massage chair with THIS MONTHS issue of cosmopolitan (usually end up with a 6 month-1 year old magazine elsewhere). The pedicure: the sweet lady doing my nails did excellent work, really took her time to make sure everything was perfect and relaxing. The hot stone massage was awesome! I always loved this place, it was very clean, very good, cheaper than other nail salons, friendly people... I still like it, but today my experience was not very good. Today was a very busy day, and I just walked in without an appointment. They told me to come back in 15 minutes and they would be ready for me. I came in 15 minutes later and I sat down, and waited for 45 more minutes!! I would much rather them have told me to come back an hour... I get a shellac mani and regular pedi about twice a month. This place is the best shellac I have gotten in the Mountain View/Los Altos/ Palo Alto area. I haven't tried everywhere, but I've been to quite a few shops. A few thoughts: they are very slow. It took about twice as long to get a mani and pedi than I'm used to. I was there on a Sunday afternoon so weekdays might be different. But I'm used to having two technicians simultaneously and their process involved moving and a lot of waiting. They were very busy and trying to accommodate everyone; there are too many chairs for the amount of employees. Initial wait time was not too bad, I made an appointment for 1 pm and was starting my pedi by 1:15, but waiting in general is still kind of a pain. I had an entire pedicure, was moved to a desk, waited a bit, and then had the manicure. The whole process took about 1:45. I'm used to getting all this done in an hour. That said, the shellac was extremely well done, I had minimal exposure to UV (they use LEDs) and the technician seemed conscious of my preferences. Also there was minimal (to no) chatter between technicians. When they did talk, it seemed like business, not social. I liked the quieter environment. Price was reasonable. One thing I've seen a lot in reviews and also in the shops are women frustrated with wait times on walk-ins. Every time I visit a nail salon I make an appointment. I highly recommend it. Even if it's a Tuesday morning and I plan to arrive in 10 minutes. It's ALWAYS a good idea to call ahead. Just ask them if you can come at a time that works for you and then let them confirm or suggest an alternative. It takes very little effort and can really make a big difference in your experience. read more

My sister and I like to go for pedis together. She had just heard about this new shop, so we went to check it out. We have a new favorite spot! Everything is new and clean and the massage chairs have individual, removable basins. Yay for not putting your feet and legs into a fixed basin! I'm always paranoid that those fixed basins are not as clean as they should be. The nail polishes are not gloppy and I got a great pedi with paraffin, scrub, leg massage and flawless polish for $25 (they gave me a $10 dollar off coupon whenI walked in). I found this place through top rated nail salons on Yelp. I was looking for a nice relaxing spa experience while getting a mani/pedi. Pros: * Long lasting nail paint jobs... 4 days later I have one chip, and that's my own fault. * I shelled out for the "forever" mani/pedi ($60 package), which involves paraffin and clay masks on your arms and feet, and hot towels... relaxing. * Everyone working there was very sweet, and soft spoken. No distracting shouting in Vietnamese across the salon, like I've heard in other salons. * The decor is very nice * There is a television, but they keep the volume low so that it's not distracting. The food network was on when I went :) * They offered me water when I sat down, which was refreshing * Plenty of parking * They gave me a $10 coupon for next time! Cons: * They take credit cards, but ask that tip be paid only in cash. Could be less than convenient * The woman working on my fingers answered her cell phone in the middle, which was distracting, but things happen. * The woman working on my arms dripped the blue clay on my pants, which meant I had to go home and change before going out after my mani/pedi * I thought it was odd that the massage chairs you sit in aren't nail spa chairs - they bring over a footbath seperately, but this might be a pro. And the woman working on my toes sat on a chair with wheels, so I kept pushing her back by accident. * I got hangnails on four nails the next day because they were rough on my cuticles * Some of my nails are differently shaped because I requested rounded nails, and she flattered a few out while on her phone. * It took forever to find the place because their address is on 2nd st, but their entrance is on the back.
