Never again! Small portions and nonexistent ingredients green curry with no peas, 3 pieces of pepper, 3 pieces of chicken the rest all bamboo shoots ridiculous! Two containers exactly the same. The soup had 2 pieces of tomato and 2 pieces of chicken, sad so sad it had some cilantro and about 4 little mushrooms crazy. The larb was about 1/2 a cup and the cabbage that came with it was the inside pieces unsuseable to put anything in. Like others noted, parking can be a challenge. Go early and plenty of parking on Delmar. Venue is small. I can see their being a wait. Service is good. They were extremely nice and accommodating. Food was good. 1. Muu Ping. Pork skewers. They were nice, very tender. The sauce had a bit of sweetness. Good but not something I have to get next time. 2. Spring rolls. Crispy and light. Filled with veggies and glass noodles. 3. Khao Soi. Solid dish. It's a bit spicy but I was able to keep eating. It's tasty, a nice touch with both crispy and regular noodles. 4. Pad Thai. Solid dish. I like that the fish flavor was not overpowering. A nice balance. Some may want to add heat as the flavors were not very strong. I enjoyed it. Khao Soi is what you're going here for. It's one of the most flavorful dishes in town-- not too spicy, perfectly salty and creamy with a bit of crunch and perfectly cooked protein. Dinner for two will run you $30 or so, with an appetizer. The space isn't the best for large parties, but we've snuck our family of six in with some arranging of tables in the past. Wonderful find, family friendly with food for all ages. Our youngest (and pickiest) ordered Chicken Satay and that covered him until he tasted my curry and ate half of it with me lol. The rest of us ordered a variety of dishes from standard Pad Thai to different curries. We were thrilled to find the dishes cooked excellently and seasoned appropriately for each person per spice level they asked for. The atmosphere is laid back, there are tables inside and a number of two toppers outside on the side walk. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a fantastic small dive that has excellent food that will have you returning to work your way through the menu. Oh, you know, just my go to spot in The Loop! Over the past few years I have consistently enjoyed their food, hospitality, and their growing list of drink options. Last night we came in for dinner with a couple friends and had a delightful time. There was an open four top when we arrived around 6:30pm and we were able to take it. A server promptly came over bringing our waters. I love that they leave water on the table, that way you always have extra you can pour yourself. We all got drinks, as well, I went with the Rose Gold rosé. It was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and most impressive: only $7. When we ordered our entrees, our server repeated our order back to us, which is my favorite thing ever. I got chicken pad Thai with double chicken cause I was double hungry and I've gotta' say it was double delicious- as always. I also noticed that our service was super prompt, which I appreciated, again, because of the hunger. Julia got the green curry with chicken, which we also love. First time at Fork and Stix and this was a fantastic Thai food experience! We were promptly seated upon arrival and our server was doing a great job keeping up our table despite the fact that they were quite busy between the dine-in orders and all the take-out orders. They have a solid selection of foreign and local beers so I was able to enjoy a City Wide APA while waiting for my food while my buddy had a nice Thai beer. For my entree, I got the Khao Soi since it seems to be what everyone raves about in their reviews, and it did not disappoint! It is a great mix of being flavorful, spicy (but not too spicy), great textures with the addition of crunchy noodles, and solid amount of meat too. My Love for Northern Thai food and this particular restaurant has not changed. This is the best Thai restaurant in STL in terms of quality, service, price, and atmosphere. And this is the deal, I have officially had everything on this menu (many times over). They offer the no wait app, but I don't think that's accurate here. They do not take reservations, but it is so worth the wait or call for take out. Remember it's Northern Thai (lots of Chai Mai specialities) and they don't offer some of the same food as other Thai restaurants (so no drunken wide noodles here). Northern Thai is more sour and milder vs. Southern that is spicier and sweeter. This Thai food feels lighter than other americanized restaurants. And everything on the menu is exceptional. My Favorites: 1) Chicken Khao Soi: Yellow Curry Soup. This is not your normal curry, but a northern sweet,spicy,savory soup with pickles, and noodles. It doesn't come with many vegetables, so I like to order a side of steamed vegetables to mix it in. 2) Hung Lay Curry: Fantastic palm sugar tender pork. I generally don't eat pork and I make exceptions for this. 3) Chicken Tum Yum Soup: It has the perfect blend of sour and spicy flavors. The hot is really hot here and I generally only get it medium. If you like Thai food, this is a must! I went here with a couple of friends and we decided to share everything we had. That being said, I was able to explore the menu and even go outside my "comfort zone". The inside was very inviting and cozy, a great place for a group or 2 -4. So onto the food and I don't know where to start! We started with the Hot Jaw and the Muu Ping. Both were excellent, great flavors that were perfectly matched with each ingredient. I will say, the mild is not what some would think as mild, so be prepared to have a little extra, but nice kick! As far as our entrees we had the pad Ka Prao with beef and added the egg to make it even more rich and velvety. The one that pulled me out of my "comfort zone" was the Green Curry. For some reason I have never been a fan of curry but I have since decided that it's because I hadn't had this! With the holiday season approaching, this is the perfect place for the friend that's coming in for a few days, the time where you need to step away with a friend for a couple of hours or any other excuse you need! I am so thankful that I choose to eat my way through this list, I have enjoyed so many meals, that I would have missed otherwise. I stopped by for lunch on a Friday. Ian's "must order" recommendation was the, Khao Soi. Since, I was in the beginning stages of the sniffles, I thought it was a good choice. Who needs chicken noodle soup, when you can have a big bowl of Khao Soi. It's a Northern Thai egg noodle curry soup. Served with red onion, pickled mustard greens, cripsy egg noodles. I loved it and the spiciness opened up nasal passages and sniffles were gone. Next time I start to get a cold, I'm coming to Fork & Stix. To accompany my huge bowl of soup, I ordered Thai Stix. They basically were similar to a Crab Rangoon, but better. Here they are; Cream cheese & Crab mixed wrapped in spring roll wrapper and deep fried and served with a Thai sweet chili sauce. Service is quick and friendly in the small space. A heads up that parking can be a challenge. Be sure to pay the parking meter to avoid getting a ticket. Would I come back? When you get it to go, it's in separate containers so your noodles don't get soggy. Make sure to ask for the chili oil to go with it as well. Everyone there is always very friendly and polite. I don't often come to this side of Delmar (usually I head west of Skinker), but I would definitely be open to coming back. I recently came on a Sunday to have dinner with my partner and two friends. The place is on the small side and has pretty basic decor. We were seated right away. I ordered a Thai tea (your standard and delicious Thai tea) and the hung leh curry. I typically order green curry whenever I go to a Thai place I've never been to, but I had never heard of hung leh curry before and I loooove pork belly, so I had to get it! I really enjoyed it. It was so full of spices and flavors (but without being spicy). It was really good! I just wish there were veggies in it, but I knew that beforehand and it wouldn't stop me from ordering it again. Our servers were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the price is pretty good for how much food you get. Next time, I would like the try their green curry and khao soi. A little hard to spot, but Fork & Stix is just right off of the Delmar Loops tucked in the corner of Rosedale Ave. You will miss it if you aren't looking for it. I've heard about this place and came with a few friends for dinner. The restaurant is on the smaller side, probably around 8 tables inside and with additional seating outside. I tried making reservations just in case, but they do not take reservations, probably due to the size of the restaurant. Normally when I go to a Thai restaurant I usually stick with the Pad Thai or the Green Curry. Since I've had so many of both of those dishes, I can really compare other Thai restaurants. Instead, I decided to take a chance and try something different. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, opting for mild spiciness since the server said it was spicy. I was really hopeful on the dish, but I felt like the dish was a little on the bland side. The only flavor I could really taste was the spiciness of the dish. People are standing around staring at us like "how dare you sit when your are finished"? I just want the check. So I get the check and the total bill came to $50.00 good value for three people. What's this?! Top of the line Thai food right down the street from me? I'm not worthy! Seriously though, this place is great. It's hidden right off of Delmar so you'll need to grab a meter, and get ready for a more intimate experience just because F&S is so tiny! there's only maybe 8-10 tables in the place which I really appreciate. It has a more modern look than I was expecting, and I certainly didn't expect a kick-ass bowl of green curry for lunch either. Our server was a little shy but very nice, and towards the beginning we could hardly hear him! Once he got a little more comfortable he was great, and I ordered a Thai coffee which you can never go wrong with. It comes in a HUGE glass with the condensed milk poured right on top. So good! Our waters were always kept full and service was on-point. If you're thinking about ordering the veggie spring rolls, get two orders if there's more than one person eating them. One order just comes with two tiny rolls, and while they were delicious, that won't exactly fill you up. As far as entrees go, I can't rave enough about the green curry with chicken. A gorgeous bowl of bamboo shoots, green peas, bell peppers, basil, green curry paste & coconut milk was set in front of me next to a side of white rice, and I was in Thai food heaven. It was the perfect amount of spicy (pretty darn hot) and everything was so fresh & well-prepared. I really liked the Thai food here. I stopped by to grab a quick bite to eat before work, but was a little overwhelmed by the menu. (It's not a large menu, but everything looked so delicious. So, I asked my server to help me pick out something for me. After asking a few of my preferences, she suggested the Khao Soi. I always always have trouble finding dishes that I think are appropriately spiced. I live spicy food, so everything is either to mild for me, or the spiciness isn't well balanced with the dish. I had duly been warned that some customers think the dish might be spicy (in my head I was thinking I really hope so! Every time someone tells me something is spicy, I get my hopes up, and them get bitterly disappointed when it tastes as sweet as candy.) The Khao Soi was mind-blowing. Extra points since the waitress saw me use up my chili paste and brought more in case the dish wasn't spicy enough :). The acidity from the lime, creaminess from the coconut milk, and the heat from the chili paste made such a great balance. It is a little tough to find parking here. You are better off parking along the street and walking for a couple minutes. And the restaurant is not huge, so it may get a little crowded.
