The only good food at this restaurant involves brisket. The brisket sandwich is very good and the brisket nachos are the best thing on the menu. The hamburgers are dry and tasteless. The pulled pork as well. They have free, endless rolls but they are not near as good as Texas road house rolls. I recommend getting the brisket nachos and possibly the brisket sandwich but nothing else. Service was very slow. We were fast to get drinks but the food took over half an hour to get to us. On vacation with my family.. was looking for a place we never heard of. Found this place. The interior is very western looking. Should have taken pics of interior, was busy enjoying my family. Our waiter was Awesome! Checked on us many times and took good care of us. My daughter ordered a combo plate with hard/soft taco, tamale, came with beans and rice. Hubby got the same combo with different choices. They both raved about the flavor of the beans had a little heat to them but tasty. My husband got a chili relleno..which was huge and was so yummy! I got a bite..Lol.. everything else was delicious. My son and I each got a burger and for the life of me can't remember which one. He said his was great. Mine was very good, the hamburger meat had a good flavor to it not overpowering but you could taste they added something to it. Good thing. Lol.. I think our meals were a decent price for what we were served. Overall we had a nice lunch and no one walked away hungry and we actually had leftovers to take with us. I went there to eat dinner on a Sunday. I first ordered the shrimp poppers as an appetizer and they were still frozen, so I sent them back. I next ordered the prime rib and ordered it medium rare. The wait time was around 40 minutes, which seemed fairly long looking around at empty tables and not a lot of other people in the waiting area, but I'm guessing it may have been due to staffing issues. After being sat down, we had the best waitress! She was hilarious, friendly, and attentive to our drinks and requests. We started with the Texas Twinkies, which were grilled bacon-wrapped jalapeños stuffed with cheese and brisket, covered in bbq sauce. These were yummy!! I think they could've been grilled a little longer. The jalapeños could've been a little more tender and the bacon on one side was underdone for my liking. The compliment bread was Sister Schubert-style multigrain rolls, which are good, but I'm always disappointed to see them brought out in a restaurant! I'm a bread lover, so I love when restaurants have their own offering, rather than a frozen option. But, I digress... For my entree, I ordered the bbq chicken which was covered with bacon, cheese, and fried onions, with creamed corn and the papas bravas (cubed, fried potatoes with a delicious chipotle ranch-style sauce). Today I went against the Yelp rating and decided to eat at Fort Worth Steakhouse. Big mistake! We went online to join waitlist but it said " no wait". We decided to call, the restaurant said "no wait". We show up 5 minutes later and the rude, sarcastic hostess said "45 minute wait, we like when everyone shows up at the same time." There were many empty tables. We finally wee seated. We started ordering and the first two things we tried to order, they were out of them. Food was not great, steaks were overcooked. Medium should not be completely gray with no pink. We did not send them back but server said they were not acceptable and told the manager. She did not have the decency to come by and say a word. 5 Star for the Fort Worth Texas Kitchen We had just finished shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall and thought we would grab a bite to eat before heading back to Knoxville. As we pulled out onto the Parkway I noticed a restaurant I hadn't seen before so we turned in to check it out. Fort Worth Texas Kitchen had my attention with signs reading GRILLED STEAKS AND CHOPS and the well stocked bar area didn't hurt my feelings at all. At 3:00 in the afternoon we were seated immediately and I thought to myself that this seemed a little more upscaled than other bull and cow eateries. In short order we were greeted by Ria our server for the meal. Now this cowgirl was personality plus and right away I felt like I was one of the family. I'm sure the other servers are great but if you eat at the FWTK do yourself a favor and ask for Ria. I was in the mood for catfish and whadayano they featured a filet catfish sandwich. While waiting for the meal I thought I'd freshen up a bit and the cowboys room was clean and germ free. Love all the old photos! Back at the table Ria shows up with a sandwich that Capt. Ahab would have drooled over. I told Ria how impressed I was and she said, "you definitely don't have to look for the fish, and also notice that that catfish is not square...I ain't never seen a square catfish." It was deep fried to perfection, moist and tender inside and delightfully crispy on the outside. The bun was huge but the filet was hanging out a inch and a half on both sides. So sorry I didn't get a pic but I ate half of it before I came to my senses. My only complaint is the sandwich had lettuce on it. Perfection would have been a scoop of southern style cole slaw. The business was clean and had great smells due to the slabs of ribs that were being smoked. We were sat and our waitress was very prompt to take our drink order. She was just as quick to return with the drinks and obtain our food order. I will say that throughout our visit, she was awesome with her attention and awesome personality for customer service. The food that we ordered was very tasty and satisfied my party. When she brought the check, she asked about desert and was told that we were too full. She then returned with some chocolate cake for the kids on the sly. My wife and I had never been to this brand of restaurant so we diced to give it a try. Service at the front desk was a little slow but expected because they were short handed. We were seated and Jose our waiter was great very attentive and always kept our drinks full. Checked on us frequently. Our food was excellent, I had the Delta Catfish (which was fantastic) with Raspberry Tea and a house salad and all of it was fantastic. My wife had "The Cowboy Way" which she enjoyed very much, oh and our food arrived in record time too which is always nice. I had the Texas Brisket Tacos. 3 tacos served full of bbq brisket, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, bbq sauce, cotija cheese, and a delicious lime aoli. It was served with Spanish rice and refried beans. The tacos were delicious, but needed a little more bbq sauce and a little more of the aoli. The rice was ok. The beans definitely have a spicy kick to them. Overall, not a bad dish. My wife had the Chicken Fried Steak fixed 'The Cowboy Way'. She was disappointed in the steak, as parts of the breading was crispy, while other parts were soggy. She also said the dish was very salty, and she didn't care for the mashed potatoes as they had too much garlic to her liking (which wasn't mentioned on the menu). However, she said the gravy was good. My son liked the mashed potatoes, as he not only ate is, but my wife's as well. He didn't eat his tenders, but 2 tenders for 7.95 seems a little steep in price. He didn't get his Texas treat with his kid's meal. The best part of the meal was the Texas Twinkies -- whole jalapeños stuffed with brisket, Colby cheese, spices, and wrapped in bacon, grilled, then basted in bbq sauce. They were delicious, and my wife said she could have made a meal just off those. I relaton to service, it was attentive, we were seated quickly, and staff checked numerous times to make sure all was okay. Overall, the meal was good. Some good parts (tacos, gravy), some great (twinkies), some needing work (steak). My husband and I have been here a couple of times over the past few years , and we always love it so we decided to come back this year . We know this is a popular spot and we expected a wait so we called to make a reservation . The woman who answered the phone could not understand me well at all for some reason . After exchanging my phone number at least 3 times to her she repeated it back correctly then sent through a text stating " you will receive a text when your table is ready " . She told me it would be about a 10-20 minute wait . 35 minutes later I checked the link connected to the text and it said our reservation had been cancelled by the host .( I never received a call or a text at this point ) My husband and I went inside and ( very respectfully and politely )told the hostess about our issue and she said it was her who I was talking to and she had cancelled the reservation because it was past the time she told us to come and I never answered my phone .. she said she had called me multiple times . I never received a phone call , and I told her that . She continued to be disrespectful , never once apologizing for the miscommunication and acting as if we were in the wrong here . After finally being seated , we had an AMAZING waitress whose name was Cassidy . She went above and beyond and was very polite . Our food came out quick and was amazing . We love this restaurant and will return again .
