Cold, processed deli meats with the standard condiments is just not appealing to me. As we were driving through Healdsburg for lunch, my friend's Tesla suggested "Summer's Market & Deli" for a quick bite. The suggested reviews offered "BEST sandwiches" - though I had bias reservations (again, I don't like sandwiches). The shop is located in a neighborhood one mile off the beaten path. There are a couple of wooden picnic tables outside. Upon entering, the store is sparse, with a small ordering counter on the right side, drink fridge in the back and a few local items for purchase on the left side. The menu offered a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich", off the FAVORITES sandwiches menu. It includes a hearty combo of grilled chicken breast, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on a focaccia roll. WOW - the combination of high-quality ingredients made this one of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had!! Well done Summer! Will definitely recommend to all my friends and look forward to returning when I am in the area.

The owners are almost always there and they are very friendly. They have a good selection of chips, sodas/drinks, and other snacks as well. You can order our food and eat inside or outside. I do prefer lazzinis in SR but this is definitely up there on places that offer tasty sandwiches.

These are fries -- crispy to the point where you briefly wonder if they've achieved a new state of matter somewhere between solid and shatter. The chicken Banh Mi was excellent in every conceivable way, save for one audacious choice: the toasted roll. I'm used a softer roll is all. The spicy chicken sandwich and the burger, however, were flawless -- tender and flavorful. Service was genuinely great, and we left already plotting our return. When I showed my boyfriend our options, this one stood out because of the fried chicken sandwich on the menu. It did not disappoint us! It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with a house ranch dressing. We also ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts that had a delicious maple taste with bacon. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and soft which was the best of both worlds. I ordered the risotto verde and loved the flavors of it along with the veggies they chose to put in. I was impressed that the lemon flavor was potent throughout the dish even when I got to the bottom, the lemon flavor was consistent and refreshing, it didn't just feel squeezed on top. Before they brought us a menu for dessert, my boyfriend said if they have a cheesecake, we are getting it! They did indeed have a citrus cheesecake and we got it along with the 2 cookies. We loved the citrus cheesecake that looked like it had lemon shavings in it too. The ambiance was cute and had a homey feel to it with the fruit wall art, and the pattern chair cushions. Overall a stand out spot both in ambiance and food.

When you get inside you'll see the varieties of cheeses available which is extensive. A little further in they have a decent sized salad bar with fresh looking veggies and a few prepared salads. There is also a warm items bar in that area. The deli is large and gets quite busy during lunch time. They have a few curated sandwiches on the overhead board or you can make your own. Take a number first if they are busy and order when called. They are pretty quick as our sandwiches were ready in about 5 minutes. I had a giorgi park (vegetarian) sandwich which came as a panini with great flavors and fresh ingredients. SCW had the veggie sandwich which was also really tasty. They have a burrito and pizza line as well. I got a vegetarian super burrito bowl which you can customize. Similar process as chipotle style. Everything looked fresh vibrant. The wine selection is varied and has some appealing options. The middle portion of the store is similarly set up like most grocery stores, cans, waters, cleaning products etc. The produce section is nice with good variety as well. You can find tofu and fake meats near the produce section. The store is clean and well lit. They have tables outside if you choose to eat there. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend giving Big John's Market a try.

If you are looking for the absolute best in Sonoma County for high-end foodstuffs, look no further…read more Big John's Market is essentially a pilgrimage site for anyone who takes their pantry seriously. The store is beautifully laid out and curated with an eye for quality that puts most 'gourmet' chains to shame. The produce is consistently stunning, and the local wine selection perfectly reflects the best of our backyard (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and beyond). The standouts: * The Deli/Prepared Goods: This is the heart of the operation. The sandwiches are legendary, the pizza is artisanal-grade, and the prepared salads are actually fresh and inventive--not just an afterthought. * The Cheese Section: Simply sublime. It is clear whoever curates this section has a deep passion for local creameries and international classics alike. * The Experience: Despite the high-end inventory, the staff is incredibly friendly and grounded. Plus, in a town like Healdsburg, having a lot with decent parking is a massive luxury that makes the trip even easier. Whether you're stocking up for a dinner party or just grabbing the best lunch in town, this place is the gold standard.

She was so busy every single one of the bar seats was taken, and she did a fantastic job balancing all of it. Overall the food was an exceptional experience. For starters we got the truffle fries, and A Minestrone soup. The truffle fries were delicious, and had a bit if a kick to them so if you dont like spicy keep that in mind. The Soup was delicious and a great size for the small soup portion. I ordered the Lasagna with meat sauce and its light delicate layers were delicious, and perfectly balanced with the cheese. The server was helpful and informative and told my friend about the Mushroom cream sauce for her ravioli that if you love mushrooms you'll love it but if you don't then steer away. And we LOVE mushrooms and the ravioli paired perfectly with the heavy mushroom cream sauce. We also got the Steak and ordered it medium rare, when it came to us and it was closer to blue/rare the server/bartender didn't hesitate to apologize and in a flash take it back. The cooks remade it and it was perfectly medium rare with that nice browning on the outside and a small bit it pink in the center. We were very satisfied and it was such a lovely touch the manager did come out before the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied and apologized for the discrepancy in the meal. The fact it was busy every single table full and the bar also being full and the manager still coming to ensure our satisfaction was what true hospitality is all about!! 100000% recommendations for this place and will be coming back!

Felt kind of weird but we decided to check out the surrounding businesses, which wasn't much to look at so we were back within 10 minutes, waiting awkwardly by the entrance. Staff was friendly with multiple people asking if we've been helped. I was just looking forward to having a cold beer and a nice salty pizza. We wanted to make the most of our time in the area so we just opted to get some food to go, which was only a 15 minute wait for this option. Spaghettini w/ Pork Cheek Ragu - DELICIOUS and RICH!
