I had the Mai Tai and he had the Tequila Sunrise - I believe they were $5 on the HH menu. We had a few dishes - Mongolian Beef and Pork and Eggplant and House Fried Rice and ... EVERYTHING was SPECTACULAR! No greasy taste, no MSG, all flavor. AND... great service. It seems to be a great neighborhood joint where everyone knows your name. Love it! read more

Interesting food. I enjoyed the Lemon chicken, when it comes out it is a whole chicken with a delicious sauce. The sauce was both sweet and tangy with a hint of lemon. What amazing customer service for this family owned business. I really enjoyed my lunch special at $10.99 broccoli beef. It's one of the best specials I've ever had. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup and the eggroll as well. The cashew chicken looks pretty good. My friend had one of those and he liked it. Most of all, beyond the amazing food, is the excellent customer service. It's been along time since I had service like that. Everyone was nice and patient. They really have that dialed in. And your whole family to a big table in the back and you will not be embarrassed for picking this restaurant. They will treat your whole family with the respect they deserve. Upon arrival the restaurant was clean, staff was super friendly. I ordered a medium hot and sour soup to go and an order of the house chow mein. Both were soo yummy! The young man who helped me during the payment process was so sweet, another woman was walking around and checking on everyone that was waiting for their orders, making sure everyone was okay and offering drinks.. chatting about the weather. Great food for takeout. In house dining is awful. I made a reservation for my husbands birthday and let them know we are celebrating and coming in with two small children. We were sat 15 minutes after our reserved time and ignored for 30 minutes. I asked a few different people where our server was and no one knew. Someone finally walked over as we were walking out of the restaurant. Food in the past has been excellent. But I do not recommend in house dining. read more

My go-to place for great Chinese food and wonderful service, day or night! The atmosphere is great for a casual lunch or for celebrating a special occasion. I absolutely love the food here! The portions are a good size for family-style entrees, and can feed about 3-4 people per plate. The roasted duck and the steamed fish are my favorites! These specific dishes do take a little longer to prepare, but totally worth the wait! If you are looking for faster fare, especially during your lunch hour, the rest of the dishes they serve come out quickly and come out very tasty! They have a great bar and cocktail list as well! Fortune palace is located in Sparks, on disc Dr in the same strip mall where scolaris was located. We all have our go to's when ordering, mine is beef with snow peas. Today I ventured out the box and ordered crispy chicken. It has the spicy emblem next to it on the menu, but it really was not spicy What it was full of was flavor. It was not swimming in a gooey dripping sauce, but that was OK. These pieces of chicken were fried and I think tossed like Buffalo wings. The restaurant is very welcoming and the service was excellent. My only negative, the lighting at the table was dim. Venture out to that far away town of Sparks, and visit fortune palace, you will not be disapointed. read more

I give this place a solid A for effort. Upon moving to Sparks, recently, I decided for date-night that I just wanted some Chinese take-out. With the recent move and exploring of the area, I saw that Fortune Palace was semi-close and a Yelp investigation later, I realized it was worth a shot; at the very least, it'd be just some basic Chinese take-out, which was what I was after. The place presents itself as a fine cuisine establishment; the wait staff are wearing white collared shirts and the dining room seems very elegant, with the dim lighting ambiance. I had ordered out, so I just gave my name, picked up my order -- which was in fact ready -- and off I went. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Veggie Chow Mein and two servings of the steamed rice. I was a little shocked at the price -- the total coming to about $48 and change. At this point, I'm thinking I should have just took my husband up on his offer of going to Hiroba Sushi. My second impression was that of the portions. When reading the reviews, a lot of people said they were big portions, and I would agree when it comes to the rice -- for 2 servings, I was expecting two balls of rice, but it filled the entire take-out box. The other entrees were meager, at best, and the shrimp -- all of the 6 or so I got -- was about $18 after tax. Did it satisfy my basic Chinese take-out I was wanting? Yes. However, it did not live up to what you expect to pay for such basic Chinese take-out. I would not go here again and would probably just settle for Panda Express if I didn't want to pay AYCE Sushi prices for such "neighborhood Chinese American take-out", as Michael T. described it best. I give it 3 stars, as they do try, in way of their presentation and service, but their food is not spectacular enough for what they charge for it. read more

Husband and I wanted to try a new place for date night. We always eat at Los Compadres but this time I was in the mood for something different. We decided on Chinese food and remembered this place. We walked in and loved the environment. The bar sits in the front and the dining area is to the left. Both places looked very well kept. We ordered the Chicken fried rice, Chicken and Vegetables, and Spicy salt and pepper chicken. The food was very well cooked, just the right amount of flavor, and did not leave you feeling over stuffed. The fried rice was seasoned properly and tasted great. The spicy salt and pepper chicken had the right amount of batter, breast meat, and had light spice to it. The chicken and vegetables had a garlic white sauce which was not overpowering and the vegetables were cooked al dente. I decided to have a grown up drink and ordered the Jade Cocktail. It contained vanilla vodka, Madori, and triple sec. Such simple ingredients but was very well mixed and done perfectly. It left you wanting another. It tasted like lime jello. I am giving this place five stars because of the great customer service, the food was very well done and even tasted better the next day, and the great cocktail. read more

A group of eight of us when in tonight without a reservation. We did the Cantonese family dinner, giving us eight dishes, soup or salad, and two appetizers each. The food, the service, the ambiance was all spot on. They are attentive without rushing you. All the meat dishes were melt in your mouth. The lemon chicken was crunchy and tender. The sweet and sour pork a big hit. Cashew Chicken was tender and the zucchini still had a nice crunch. All eight of us left totally satisfied and happy. Fortune Palace is located on Disc Dr in the old scolaris shopping center. This Chinese restaurant is very much like CJ Palace. It is decorated very nicely and well lit. Deb Andi came here for an late lunch early dinner. Parking was not a problem with the huge lot they share. They must have 25 plus tables and booths inside the restaurant. There is a full bar right when you enter that has counter service and stools. There are two tv's, one in bar and one in dining room. We ordered hot and sour soup, spring rolls, and house chow mein. Everything was excellent. The soup had excellent flavor. It was not to spicy. The chow mein was full of flavor with chicken, beef and shrimp. The spring rolls were so tasty. They were stuffed with vegetables and fried. Definitely will be back. read more

Should be called the Unfortunate Palace. We ordered take out last night 30$ dollars worth of Garbage. "Call the food police I've been robbed!" Maybe they havearnew owners? PRAWNS: these were panko breaded small shrimps crispy but overcooked and rubbery texture on the shrimp I'm sure they were prepackaged frozen product. Then I opened the...... VEG FOO YUNG. "Oh my god I sighed" ...are you kidding me? they were perfectly round 1/2 inch thick discs and I mean round I'm not sure they were even made with eggs and there were some soggy bean sprouts inside. Apparently, all you need to do is microwave the frozen patty and add some frozen veggies to your basic bland thickened chicken stock and "voila" You've got veg foo yung Oh PLEASE! you couldn't even beat an egg? Does Mc Donald's make egg foo yung molds now POTSTICKERS: Definitely not the best frozen pre-packaged stickers I've ever had, 6 of these beauty's. We ate two each, by the time we got to the 3rd one we were chewing on sponge. Had to toss the last two. The dog wouldn't eat them. The dipping sauce could have been sweeter. Tasted only vinegar & soy. PORK FRIED RICE: Overcooked, mushy rice, typical frozen peas and carrots, not enough egg (SURPRISE!) and bland. There was a good supply of pork and that part was actually OK. I'm not surprised there was nobody was in the place I would be embarrassed to be seen in here now I know why the people at the bar were wearing masks. This place is way overpriced for the quality oops Crap they serve. I can microwave a better meal with the stuff from the freezer at my local Asian grocery. Go to Panda even theirs is better.
