    Pizza sausage and pepperoni 8"

I was recommended by a few people in town to delicious. It did not disappoint in the food category. The pizza had an amazing crust, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the toppings were delicious. Devoured the whole thing!! The burnt ends were also quite delicious. Accompany with a delicious coleslaw, a sweet and savory cornbread and amazing sauces. We especially enjoyed the sweet honey mustard. Every bite was very flavorful. Gregg and Matt were both really friendly bartenders and had great personalities. Was fun to have the ice bar to set your cocktails on to stay chilled. They had cute little decorations set up on the bar in front of us. The sole drawback was a minor incident involving a hostess during a social gathering. While engaged with friends, I placed my feet on the chair opposite me, briefly obstructing the walkway. Upon a request to clear the path, I promptly complied. However, a different hostess approached me minutes later, reiterating the request, despite the absence of any obstruction. Subsequently, she communicated the issue to the bartender in my presence, who later confirmed her continued concern even after we relocated to the bar to ensure an unobstructed path. A more courteous and kinder approach in addressing the situation would have been appreciated, fostering a positive experience for both patrons and staff alike to make our visit more "special".

Went to Fortuns when a restaurant down the street was too busy and got a pleasant surprise. Host was very kind, we were seated fast, and the server Angela was a doll. Knew what we wanted almost before we even knew! We started off with the creole shrimp and burnt ends and they were cooked to perfection, which was something we didn't expect because for most restaurants out here the shrimp is either to dry or the burnt ends are to crispy. Both were delectable and delicious. Then we had the pizza and swordfish and it was a delight. High quality, along with great service. Will definitely be back soon!!!

Dog friendly - outdoor patio I was fortunate enough to give this restaurant a try with a bunch of friends, with that being said you already know its "family style," food that is meant to be shared. The ambience is beautiful, wasn't sure why the 6 of us were seated in a booth rather than a flat top or even a round table, the location was in the far back corner, it was a bit odd but it worked out. Ordered Chop Chop (GF) - cousin to the antipasti, had all the same ingredients 5/5 Caprese Salad - Tomatoes, Fresh Burrata, pesto, balsamic, Evoo served with garlic bread. 5/5 Delicious burrata, paired well with the pesto, balsamic, evoo! Sweet Fennel Sausage and Pep Pizza - meaty and delish 5/5 Fig and Prosciutto Pizza - My fav dish, the saltiness of the prosciutto pairs well with the sweetness of the fig 5/5

The weather was perfect to have brunch out in the patio. Dining is available inside in the main dining room, or upstairs in their second dining room with a view. We started with a Bloody Mary with their house-made mix, the vodka was infused with Serrano chili. I thought it might be very spicy, but it was just right. 50% discount on Mimosas or Bloody Mary before Noon. Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday until 2pm. Enjoy breakfast or lunch items and a full service bar. A quick summary of their Breakfast menu: Grand Marnier French toast, Italian Omelet (veggie style or add Sausage for $4), Eggs Benedict. Lunch selections: Turkey French Dip, Tavern Burger, Cesar Salad, or Clam Chowder. The service was VERY good, we did not have to wait long to be seated, served or have our drinks refilled. Save room for dessert and tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!! NOTE: 4% Surcharge added on ALL items to pay for emoloyees' living wage. Consider this when dining here.

We dined on 1/15/2025. Hadn't been to Fortun's in sometime. Really enjoyed our dining experience. Had the early bird chicken pot pie dinner. It was fantastic. We also had the salmon, and it was also great. It was cool to see the retractable roof. I didn't recall that when we dined before. Todd R.

The entrance lead you down a hallway toward the hostess stand, with couches, a bar and a piano being played to the left. To the right , you enter the main dining room. The space felt open, elegant, and immediately welcoming. Talk about fine dining at its best. The hostess was able to quickly seat our party of six, and our server immediately brought over the menus and filled our water glasses. THE FOOD: We started with the oysters , and they did not disappoint. They were served with a shallot mignonette which was vinegary in all the right ways. They were so good, that we ended up ordering a second round. For dinner, we all ordered the steak with mushrooms and broccoli. The steak was perfectly cooked, and every bite was bursting with flavor. Even the mushrooms and broccoli stood out. Everything was seasoned beautifully without overpowering the actual flavors of the vegetables. Even the bread was so good. It was served with three different butters. And dessert? Also top notch. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner with friends. THE SERVICE: The service really added to the experience. Our server was attentive and took great care of us. The GM, Ray, also stopped by our table, and we ended up chatting and joking with him a bit. He was incredibly friendly and personable and made sure we were having a great experience. Between the setting, the food, the genuinely attentive service, this as one of those dinners where it all felt elevated. Definitely one of the many highlights of our stay at La Quinta Resort.

Morgan's in the Desert: Disappointment After Disappointment. $400 for Meh…read more After living in La Quinta for four years, we were ready to try Morgan's, as it's one of the last foodie restaurants in the Coachella valley that we haven't tried. We arrived early for our reservation, excited to grab a drink at the bar before dinner. Then we were told our table was already available... only to be seated at a dining table in the bar, off to the side, where apparently servers do not exist while staring at the back of the pianist and the barflies. The two bartenders were fantastic--especially Brian, who was working at warp speed--but they already had a packed bar to manage. Adding dining tables to their workload was clearly not realistic. Why were we seated there? Still a mystery. Reservation problems: I booked through the QR code advertised in The Gem for the August prix fixe dinners at La Quinta Resort's restaurants. When we arrived, we were told the prix fixe menu wasn't available that day. Sorry! So we ordered bread and oysters instead. About 15-20 minutes later, the manager came over and said they would honor the prix fixe after all. Great! Except... we'd already ordered appetizers. ‍ And wow, was it SLOW. We were seated at 5:30 and still didn't have our entrées at 7:00. Drinks regularly sat empty, and once the restaurant got busy around 6:30, water refills disappeared completely. Did I mention it was 110 degrees outside? The food? A mixed bag--but overall, wildly overpriced and underwhelming. * Oysters: Ice-cold and served with a good mignonette. Also pricey. * Bread: Fresh and warm, but the olive tapenade was aggressively salty. Again, overpriced. * Watermelon salad: The winner! Refreshing, flavorful, and the spicy nuts gave it a nice kick. Highly recommend. * Chicken cacciatore: Dry chicken, undercooked tomatoes, overcooked pasta. Never again. * Oscar filet: Delicious and well-prepared, but nothing memorable or special--especially for the price. Bottom line: We spent about $400 for a frustrating, painfully slow, mostly mediocre meal. There are too many great restaurants in the area to spend that kind of money on "meh." We won't be back.

He told us about the night special, which was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Started with Caesar Salad, which is a good portion and the Calamari. Both were delicious. Our entrees were the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and the Chicken Picatta. Both were perfect. I will say and this is not a negative at all, but the mashed potatoes and gravy instantly reminded me of KFC, when you get those in the styrofoam containers with lids... that is what they tasted like, and that is not a bad thing. The only complaint would be is that our appetizers came out fast, but as we started to enjoy them, just a few minutes later the entrees came out. There was almost no place to put them, as we were still enjoying our apps. The server should have not fired the entrees so soon, or maybe he just put the entire order in at once? We will be returning as the food is good and the place is very nice. We will make a point of letting them know next time, so this doesn't happen again, but otherwise the night dining was perfect.

The food came out fairly quickly after we ordered. The salads were good, and both the baked potato and mac and cheese were delicious. The steaks, however, were just okay. The biggest disappointment was the lobster tail, which I had been looking forward to the most. It was cold, chewy, and came with cold butter. Definitely not what you'd expect from a steakhouse. One thing that really left a bad impression was the closing routine. We arrived about two hours before closing, so it's not like we came in at the last minute. About 20 minutes before closing, the staff started vacuuming around the dining room while we were still finishing our meal. I understand everyone wants to get home, but vacuuming while guests are still eating is unprofessional and really took away from the experience. It's a nice restaurant with an attached bar area that had a DJ and was very lively on a Friday night. We chose to dine in the restaurant portion, where the atmosphere was a little more conducive to dinner and the service was good. I had the Chicken Piccata ($38) and thought it was very good. It was flavorful, the serving size was fair, and I felt the price was reasonable for the quality and the restaurant. Others at our table had the Pacific Sole Piccata ($46), and there were several appetizers and salads available in the $19-$38 range. My one disappointment was the cocktail pricing. Many of the drinks start around $19 and can go all the way up to approximately $45. I had a martini that tasted fine, but it was surprisingly small for the price. At those prices, I expected a more generously sized cocktail. Other than the drinks being overpriced in my opinion, I enjoyed the experience. The food was good, the service was solid, and the lively bar and DJ give the place a fun energy if you're looking for more than just dinner. Overall, a solid four-star first visit. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line.
