My daughter chose this quaint little restaurant to celebrate her birthday. We ordered the House Garlic Focaccia and the Little Caesar salad to share. She had the Penne Alla Vodka with chicken and I had the Fussili Al Pesto with shrimp. All of the food has wonderful! Amazing, authentic flavors in every bite! My husband made a reservation to celebrate my birthday at the restaurant. It started off as only two of us but later in the evening we invited 2 more to join and they were more than accommodating. I enjoyed the mini bottles of champagne they were pretty tasty. We got sat right in the middle of the restaurant and the chef sent over a complimentary appetizer of Arancini which my mom enjoyed so much she ordered another round just for herself lol. The restaurant itself is quiet which makes it a great place to conversate and catch up. For our main entrees, we got the ranch ribeye that was cooked perfectly, the Pesto with chicken, and an order of lasagna. We did a family-style type of eating, and we all got to taste a little bit of everything, there were no complaints. Our dinner was very tasty and for dessert, we ordered some cannoli's that I was trying for the first time and was pleasantly surprised as well. The food is ok but not good or great. The supposed "fior de latte" mozzarella with the caprese salad is supposed to be higher end , fresh and soft but it was hard like feta cheese. Even the remake an annoyed staff brought back was basically the same. One should maybe consider taking off the menu what particular kind of cheese is served if it's not being served. The pork chop was quite dry and tough also. The ambience is ok and the stuff also. It's just a bit too expensive for the quality of food. Took our sweet baby Leo for a walk in Uptown Whittier and stumbled upon Four Bricks which has been reopened under a new restaurant name. We really liked the old Four Bricks restaurant but I think we fell in love the new and improved Four Bricks by La Crosta. Their pastas are made fresh from scratch, Pizzas look Gourmet. We have to go back for Pizza. Chef Jesus was extremely nice and fell in love with our baby Pom. He cooked Leo up the perfect minced chicken breast. We ordered, the short rib & pasta, and the vodka penne along with the Brussels sprouts, everything was incredible or like the young kids say, "Fire." I highly recommend this place. We were overwhelmingly not impressed, however we did see that people were enjoying themselves in other areas of the restaurant. The patio seating looked fun and the tables are pretty fancy.. white linen etc. we made the mistake of sitting at the bar were there is not a designated bartender because they only serve beer and wine. Been here twice. Everything is so good. My favorite dish so far is the cioppino. Extremely flavorful and a good heat balanced the delicate sweetness of the scallops, shrimp and other shellfish. Bruschetta is classic but made with their own focaccia. Meatballs are big and tasty, slightly smoky from the bacon. The lasagna is probably the best restaurant lasagna I've ever had and rivals some of those iconic Italian spots on the west side. Every pasta is hand made in the morning so you can tell it's fresh. Came here with my Ladies Christmas Dinner and I must say it was wonderful. I had the pistachio arugula salad (it was a pretty good portion) as a starter. For the main dish I had the Short Rib Tagliatelle, my mouth is watering for it right now. It seemed like a small portion but after eating the salad, I couldn't even finish half my plate. Made Reservations for pre Fathers Day dinner we had a party of 5. Within our party consisted of two elderly persons with walkers I called prior to our reservation, and Heather helped us by allowing us to park in the back where the walkway was leveled which was a great help. Once we arrived, we requested the patio, which was nice and quiet and cool for an early evening dinner. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful.Our dishes were delicious, and our dishes were as follows: For Starters, a delicious roasted garlic focacia, followed by argula salad with yummy pistachios and guanciale prawns with the best Sauce. We then had the Cioppino, which was on point. We then ordered the Branzino, so tender, flaky, and delicious, as was the tender Bisteca alla florentina with salsa verde and rigatoni boloñese. All dishes were superb. Heather and her team are outstanding and work as a team to make sure the customer has the most pleasant experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. I love the open kitchen concept it's fun to see the chef and staff whipping up delicious dishes. My husband and I made reservations for 5 pm and were seated promptly. We started with Arancini and the Guanciale wrapped Prawns. Both were delicious, so good I didn't take any pictures before we started eating! The prawns definitely stood out and would definitely get the prawns again. For our entrees we had the pepperoni pizza, Fillet mignon, and Cacio E Pepe with black truffle. The pizza was amazing! The crust was soft and the pepperonis had a great flavor. The Cacio was so good! We would definitely order it again. For me the highlight of our entrees was the fillet mignon. It literally melted in my mouth! If I was on death row that would definitely be part of my last meal! For dessert we had the cannolis. The pistachios were a nice addition we loved the raspberry sauce that was placed on the plate. The service was on point. All servers came by to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. I was lured by the 4.6 star Yelp rating so I made a reservation for date night and both of us were disappointed in our dishes and the ambiance. To start, the parlor room, where we were seated was freezing. The ovens were heating the center room and providing live view of the chefs cooking. Why couldn't they have sat us there? We came for an early dinner. The place was more than half empty. Regardless, of where they sat us, the food was the next thing we were aggrieved about. To satisfy my craving for the dish I had in Italy, I ordered the Cacio e Pepe while my husband ordered the Beef tenderloin in Balsamic sauce. For the price we paid, my husband said "they could have placed salt and on the table so I could have seasoned it myself." I felt the same way about my pasta. In Italy, they don't offer you salt, pepper or extra Parmesan because "to alter a generation's old recipe is to insult the nonna who invented it." However WE were insulted that this establishment would serve such poorly seasoned dishes. We will not be returning. Do not be fooled by the 4.6 stars as I was. Save yourself the money and time and go somewhere else. read more

The sauces and cheeses were so tasty and the breads were crisp without being hard. Family style dinner selections were: CHICKEN PARMESAN (huge portion, tender chicken with lots of cheese), SNAKE RIVERS FARM NEW YORK STRIP (the most amazing, melt-in-your-mouth steak I've ever had), and PENNE ALLA VODKA (al dente pasta with the perfect creamy sauce that wasn't too heavy). We were a large group and decided to eat family style so we'd get a chance to try everything on the menu. All of it was amazing. Our server went over the wine list and recommended a few bottles that we had to try. He came out poured out glasses and made sure we liked it. We had a few kids with us also and the staff was very accommodating to them as well. Please 6 little picky pallets is not easy and they ate everything that came out. Every bite of food here was wonderful. The chef is very talented. Focaccia bread, rigatoni, penne, and short rib dishes were all outstanding. The food service, however, was unacceptable. Two of our party of four got their food at the same time, the third person 10 minutes later, and the fourth person's food didn't come out until everyone else had finished (we tried waiting, but the food would have gotten cold). The same thing happened at the table next to us. Three of their party had to-go boxes by the time their fourth got his food. Our server's response was, "the food comes out when it's ready. It says that on the menu." When we had her cancel our fourth's order because the rest of us were done and we were ready to leave, her response was to ask if we wanted to see a dessert menu. ???? To make it your policy to bring food out when it's ready, even if that means some people at your table won't start eating until everyone else is done, is just a cop out for not having someone who understands how to expedite food from a restaurant kitchen. Servers should be sympathetic to what is happening at their tables, not oblivious to less-than-satisfactory guest experiences. The manager did her best to try to keep our table comfortable (we were seated next to a breezy, chilly, open door and she kept coming over and closing it for us) but she did not address the issues we were having with getting our food. She did nothing to try to make it right. I get that this place has only been open a couple weeks, but if this is going to be the status quo experience, it's not going to last very long. read more

The service was outstanding, with the staff being both excellent and friendly. They made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. A special touch was when the owner himself came to greet us. We were celebrating a birthday, and the owner generously offered the birthday girl a complimentary glass of wine, making the occasion even more special. The interior of the restaurant was also very inviting and nicely decorated. I strongly recommend Four Bricks to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a great dining atmosphere. Amazing from start to finish - truly. From when my party of 5 walked in to when we walked out the service was amazing. We were taken care of! Our waitress walked us through the menu and gave great recommendations. They kept our drinks filled and checked in with us properly. The chef even walked around a couple of times to greet us and asked how we liked the food. The ambiance and the service alone really set the tone for us. It was nice to talk in a quieter place and still felt extremely comfortable to have a lot of big laughs! The food! Amazing! We enjoyed that the plates were all sharing portions, so our entire party got to try a little bit of everything.
