did my daughters 5th birthday party here with there bowling party deal......it was pretty good. it goes from 4-6 pm for cosmic bowling...we had 2 lanes, and they get to bowl one game.....and then they have pizza. the pizza is very average....and they don't offer much help with utensils, plates, etc. but, they do give the birthday kid a used bowling pin for all her friends to sign, and they have a 10 ft tall bowling pin walking around taking pics with the kids which was pretty trippy. i would do it again. read more

What a pleasant find! We were looking for a new home for our traditional family New Year's Eve day bowling outing for our large family (18 bowlers but 30 in all) and stumbled upon Fox Bowl. They were beyond accommodating from our first contact when I called to reserve lanes, to having our lanes clean and ready upon our arrival, to the delicious pizza that was available to us. The place was very busy but the owners were so accommodating and made sure to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. We all agreed it was our best bowling outing that we have had in the past 20 years we've been doing it! Great job Fox Bowl! We will be back! read more

Had a blast with a group of 6. We used the yelp deal to get one game free with a purchase, and with shoe rental on a Saturday night, not bad at all! I would definitely return here. Good fun, clean lanes, and has decent bar selection and pricing. The only complaint I had was the balls were not where they were labeled as, but that's not on the business, that's people being lazy. read more

We had a great experience at Fox Bowl on Thanksgiving night. We had made a reservation for 11 of us, a few days before the holiday. When we arrived, the upbeat lady at the front desk put us in the two end lanes behind the block glass wall, so it was like having a private party. While we had a few difficulties with the auto-scoring, it was handled quickly. Once, while at the front desk reporting the computer glitch, a group of 30 came in. Again, she was friendly and was able to accommodate them with five lanes together, even as the place was getting quite full. Then, that same lady came by and checked on us....happily becoming photographer for our three families. She made all the difference between a good and great experience at Fox Bowl, especially keeping in mind she was working a holiday and still brought a fun and friendly mood! read more

Decent bowling ally with good restaurant attached. Nothing fancy but the staff are helpful, knowledgable and always on top of things.

This is a really fun place to bowl. They have lots of lanes, and also an arcade and a pizza place. There is cosmic bowling on some days, and they have pretty good pizza. There are optional bumpers for the younger (or not so talented) bowlers. read more

I really like this bowling alley! I have been here twice, once with friends and another time with my nieces. Had a blast both times and they are very accommodating to all age groups. There is cosmic bowling on Saturdays from 4-6pm which is really fun. They also have really cute glow in the dark dinosaur shaped launch ramps for the kiddos to help get the ball down the lane with bumpers. Ahhh, bowling with customer service. Bowling with equipment that doesn't break down. And reasonably-priced, delicious food! We ordered a pizza and I was like HOLY CRAP, this is bowling alley food? It was excellent and they had tons of business, so I guess I'm not alone, since almost everyone was ordering pizzas. They have heat and A/C too unlike a certain other bowling alley in the area. This place is your typical bowling alley. Nothing new or fancy about the equipment or anything, which is fine. They have a buy one get one free bowling game offer which is pretty nice. However, we ordered shots of Rumple Minze from the bar and they were WARM! Disgusting...that should be kept in the freezer, shoot. read more

It's old school, but alot of fun, the employees are nice, but Google maps gives ridiculous directions, saying make a u turn when a u turn is unnecessary. There's a promotion through yelled that if you check in you get your second game FREE!! Good lane conditions, I've yet to try the food though. read more

We come here a lot because they have "toddler ramps" so the little ones can roll the ball down the lane without it stopping mid-lane. Also, they give back to the community a lot. They support schools and individuals with special needs and other programs as well. read more

I appreciate that they serve Smith and Forge. I came with a party of 4 on a Friday so we had to wait for leagues to end. The technology is a bit outdated and the decor could use an update, but bowling is bowling. It was fun. read more

Out dated. Cold as hell, i actually got a cold after bowling there. Shoes are falling apart. Balls were dirty and i swear the lane was uneven or warped because every bowl went to the left and i am a proficient bowler. Wouldn't go back. 2 stars just because it could have been worse. read more

We went to Fox Bowl to celebrate our granddaughter's 6th Birthday. We had an awesome time! Judy went above and beyond to see to our needs. Everything was organized and ready for us. They do an excellent job of correcting "bad behavior" without spoiling the kid's energy. The pizza was surprising good and came out right on time. Super reasonable pricing and I couldn't believe that they have a ramp so that my 21 month old granddaughter could bowl - that just made the event!! They gave us a bowling pin to sign and give to the birthday girl. She was thrilled beyond belief. Thank you so much for making this day so memorable and a HUGE thank you to Judy! We called ahead to check on availability and were told we could reserve a lane for 20 minutes past the time of the call. 20 minutes later, we arrived at the bowling alley and they said we would need to wait an additional 15 minutes to bowl. I love this place go every wednesday. They are always nice, they recognize me and always treat my friends and I well. Its $1 games on wednesday, it doesn't get much cheaper than that to have a little fun in the middle of the week. I definitely recommend it read more

The Junior Bowling League here is great! The owners are always present; they really care about the bowlers. The league coaches are informative to the children and parents. They are very patient. The atmosphere is really good. It's bright, open, and clean. The restaurant has a varied selection, and the food comes out pretty quickly. Overall it is just a well maintained bowling alley. The people are why this one is a great experience for our family. The staff is always helpful and always around. Every time we have been there, there are plenty of employees working around the lanes (which is probably why the place is so clean). The owners are the main reason why this place is so great. The happy energy in the bowling alley stems from them. We have been there at different times and different days of the week, and it is always a good source of fun for the family. I cannot recommend the leagues enough though. It was such a great experience for a first time bowler and a seasoned pro. read more

This bowling alley is pretty fun, but they had a lot of trouble with the lanes. It features cyber bowling, a game room, and a restaurant. The only reason I would give such a low rating is because in the restaurant, the cook was rude and messed up my order. Other than that, the place is great! read more

I read the reviews before I chose to have my daughter's 7th birthday party at Fox Bowl. I chose it because it was not as expensive as other party venues and the feel of the facility was very casual. I walked in the door and the lanes were ready at the start time. Each of the kids' names were already set up in the lanes. They handed me a sheet of paper with specific party instructions, which I found helpful. During the party, the staff was extremely accommodating, flexible, and they happily helped with whatever we needed and were very responsive. They did glow in the dark bowling which the kids' loved-especially the disco ball. One of the other mothers commented that they liked this party because the music was not as loud as other Cosmic Bowl parties they've been to. They gave each child a cartoon DVD and a free bowling coupon that I added to the goodie bag. The pizza was excellent and they had everything set up on the table by the time we finished up our game. Even though things got a little disorganized (my fault) and the end and the party went longer than planned, no one at the facility seemed to mind. I would DEFINITELY recommend this bowling alley for kids' parties; it was a great value. read more

Front desk person was rude from the start and only got worse when we asked for help because the lane computer was messing up. They also charge you to use the guide for smaller children. I have never heard of a bowling alley do that. What a joke. $60 for 2 games and poor attitudes from the front desk...no thanks. I will never go there again. read more

Our group actually had a great time bowling, but the experience with the bartender ruined the fun. We would've stayed longer, but none of us wanted to deal with the guy. First time at bar was fine enough. He's rude and says "yeah" and I guess that means "What do you need?" to him. He gives us our drinks. My brother gets a Guinness and he gives him a glass and a can and he asks if he wants him to pour it. I just grabbed the can and glass and gave it to my brother...no big deal there. Next time he's aggressively picking his nose, and he wasn't at all trying to be subtle, so it became clear that the weird initial behavior is his thing. The last time I only went because I wanted to continue the fun and we weren't very far along in our 2nd and last game. I got up to bar and he's "helping" the guy in front of me. He gives him a bottle of beer and he asks the guy if he wants him to open the bottle. The guy is obviously miserable and trying to radiate his misery onto everyone he crosses path with. The alley was packed on a friday night and the bar was empty. I imagine that guy costs them a ton of bar money. Finally, he gives me my bill and it isn't broken out. The bill seemed about right, so I just went with it, because I didn't want to deal with him anymore. I left him about a 5% tip just because I feel like it's mandatory these days. I really wanted to leave $.01. Bartender wins and I won't invade his space anymore. That's my last visit to Fox Bowl. read more

I have thrown a birthday party for my son and the bowling lanes were good but the customer service sucks. At the time of booking, information was not given correctly and when I called the fox bowl to find out why we did not get what we have requested for, I got the answer " it was your mistake". They are rude and do not care about their customers. The person at the front desk was not helpful and courteous at all. Customer expects a little bit of courtesy. I have asked for two games and I have been told that I do not have to buy it on the phone since you can get it when you come for the party. When we went there, they said we have a league that starts at 6:00 pm and so we cannot give you another game. They made room for other group and squeezed us into only one lane and got only one game and did not let us have another. This is not our fault. They should have told us when we were booking for the party. We could have find some other bowling place. Anyone interested, do not trust the representative. Make sure, you get everything on paper. I would never recommend this place. The customer service is pathetic. read more

Had a horrible experience. Had to request help 5 times because lane kept freezing. Moved my family to another lane to have the problems continue. Was confronted with an attitude of indifference by the staff. Not at all impressed with the customer service. This has been our usual bowling alley for years and this is the 2nd time in a row that we have had a bad experience here. Will be heading elsewhere in the future. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. We called to see if they had open bowling one evening and the man on the phone said they did until 1am and told us that nights special. We walk in no more then 10 minutes later to be kicked out as we walked in the door telling us they were closing. This was at 9:30pm. We had a coupon for a free game of bowling, so we went out and gave it a go. The woman at the desk was very nice, but the $3.95 per person for shoes was a bit steep, and there were a total of FIVE times we needed assistance for technical problems with the lane. It wouldn't return the balls, shut off twice, the gate went down and wouldn't go back up, and only gave 1 turn to a bowler on frame 6. I'm very grateful that we only paid for shoes, we will not be back. read more

Fun family outing! We were 7 adults and 2 children (3 & 5 yrs). Judy at the front desk could not have been friendlier! We did have a Groupon for 1 hour of bowling and that was a perfect length of time for the little ones. The scoreboards are easy to set up and allow you to program for when the bumpers should pop up for the kids. They especially loved the dinosaur platforms that help them steer the bowling ball down the alley. Yes, the kids scored higher than some of the adults:) read more

Great bowling atmosphere, great staff. Morano's is a decent restaurant with good quality. They are very good at taking care of it right away. It's one of the cleanest bowling alley's i've been to in the Chicago area, especially since the smoking ban has been passed. The leagues are a really fun experience. read more

Not even average [as you could tell from the rating]. Staff was pushy enough to turn on the lights [aka end "cosmic" bowling] literally the second our last player bowled. I no longer have any appreciation of what "unlimited bowling" means, as this occurred moments after I asked the staff when they closed - that being "12:30 or 1... or, uh, whenever we're looking to close up" - needless to say, after we had dropped about 200$ on our party they lost interest in allowing us to keep playing to the alleged closing time which is apparently arbitrary. As for the "cosmic" - I sincerely hope this isn't the first place you take someone cosmic bowling... a couple black lights and some shoddy painting really doesn't give the atmosphere justice. Since I'm on the topic, to call this cosmic bowling is offensive to anyone who has ever been at an actual venue that remotely tries to create a good atmosphere. Overall: There was no "cosmic" in this bowling. The music was terrible. The drinks were flat and weak. The food was garbage [surprise?]. The unisex bathroom was out of a horror film. The staff was incompetent and impolite. Need I go on? This only gets two stars because bowling is inherently fun - so essentially, go somewhere else! read more

I would give this dump less than one star. The service is terrible and the owner is rude. Every time you need something, you need to look for them, there is NEVER anyone around. And, it is NOT cheap by any means. My recent experience there was really bad. I printed my KIDS BOWL FREE coupon with the correct day and time on it and when I went there with my kids in tow, there was an ARF fundraiser going on. They wanted $25 per person to get in and the OWNER would not accept my coupon. The website said nothing about this fundraiser. The ARF representative told us that they had a lane open for us to use and when I approached the owner and told him this he advised me that they have many lanes open but that we could not bowl unless we paid the $25 per person. He went on further to tell us that we should come back another day. Yeah right. Like I would come back. I told he does not care about his customers and he looked at me blankly, like, you're right! This is a true story. Please do not support this bowling alley. There is other bowling alleys out there that are cheaper and have much better service. We ended up at Brunswick on North Ave and I355 and it was great! read more
