The disappointing thing about Francesca's is that it has the potential to be better. I don't think it even tries to be better. The customer service is the worst. They've done it so many times, it's not a fluke. No matter what the website says, be prepared for them to charge you more when you pick up your pizza. They don't care what the website says. If you want the pizza, you pay. If they promise an order will be ready at a certain time, it may not be. It may not be what you ordered. The crust may be burned. You may pay extra for a topping and get home to learn that they gave you just a few pieces for the extra dollars you paid. They don't care. They don't offer to make it right. They have never offered to fix anything! When people suggest ordering people from there, I cringe and just prepare myself to get bland pizza for too much money, just to be with my friends. We have patronized this establishment often for many years. Do not order for delivery. Placed an order for 2 pizzas, Thursday at 6:21pm. The order came 90 minutes after it was promised and was already cold. Not even warm! The employee Melissa , who said she was the manager was very rude to us on the phone and wouldn't tell us the owners name. When my brother in law stopped in to the restaurant later that nighthe was told the owner would call me today. For what I'm not sure but it should be to offer an apology for the delivery service and especially for the attitude of his employee toward his customer. Do yourself a favor and pick up your order. Update: The owner did call. He assured me that he is aware of the problem from last night. We spoke at length. He seems to be a concerned business owner and resident of the community. My new favorite Italian restaurant! Good happy crowd this dark rainy December evening. Wonderful menu. Great helpful staff - our attentive server was Michael. Modest bottle beer selection. Generous wine pours. Excellent large calamari fed 4 with leftovers. Garlic knots perfect. Our party of 4 shared two delicious dishes and all had ample left overs to take home. I don't post often, but I have to just say this place is one of my favorite places to get a specialty slice of pizza. Everyone behind the counter is super nice, efficient, and doing great under the COVID-19 conditions. The semolina crust is fantastic and the buffalo chicken is one of the best I've ever had. I recently visited the new cafe addition to Francesca's. I was holding high standards considering their pizza and dinners are delicious, but I was highly disappointed. The only reason I'm giving this review of the cafe any stars are for the AMAZING cookies and pastries! I tried a chocolate chip cookie which I think are the best around, my friend got an apple turnover that she said was "to die for", and we both also split a brownie which was so fudgy and chocolatey! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. Unfortunately the staff and managing seems really wishy washy. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come over from the pizza side to help us, we were the only ones waiting too! I believe one of the owners helped us and she was very short with us, kind of rushing us along. We had asked a few questions about their breakfast menu and had barely gotten one answer out of anyone. There was a lot of yelling and disorganization between staff and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. I have been ordering from this business for the past 15 years -year round - sometimes more than others and definitely during Covid to support the small business owners in my area - which I am a big believer in - I used to run my own small business for 25 years - so I get it. I cannot even count how many times I have ordered a cheese pizza on Wednesday for delivery - the special every week for at least 10 years already. Today when I called I was told that they have a $20 minimum for delivery to East Quogue - which is such a matter of semantics - I'm so close to Hampton Bays - that what my iWatch usually says HB and they know that. It means nothing that I am a year round resident and have ordered from them for 10+ years - all that matters to this small business is the money - so now that so many people are out here from the city - for way longer than they used to be - they don't need me or any other local customer. All I have to say - is - 1) be selective about the small businesses you support - and 2) the influx of people out here is not going to last - so good luck Francescas. We ordered take out and had mixed reviews amongst everyone. The baked clams and stuffed mushrooms were okay (meaning we've had better on LI but these were still okay to eat and enjoy) . We enjoyed the bruschetta, it was delicious, might have been the best part of the meal. Francesca's is probably one of the best places that you're going to get around here. Their Pizza is delicious their food is delicious and their ice cream is delicious. I have not tried any of the pastries yet because I still to this date in about 20 flavor short of trying all the ice creams. I have eaten a lot of Pizza in my time and this one is definitely up there on the top five. Mark and his family have done a wonderful job. I did have the opportunity to have breakfast there once and was very pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. The price was reasonable and the service was great. I really hope that it takes off.
