It really is set up to be 100% Family First.. It was very large, lots of space for kids to play inside and outside, safely, while adults enjoy their time. Lots of space between tables. I didn't notice the upstairs until we had already ordered. The menu was lacking. I think it would have been nice if they had a hostess to greet newcomers, and explain the run down, and show them how it works. If there was an area for full dining we would have liked to have known. We also would have been able to see a menu before seating. After ordering, I left my BF seated and went to see what types of local items they had for sale. I ended up buying a jar of homemade Maple cream, from the owners parents. They were a really sweet couple. They were the ones who had told us they had been there for 5 Generations. Being a history buff, I got excited and said I bet you have some great stories. I seemed to have embarrassed him, a bit, because he smiled and changed the subject. ‍ A server came out, and informed me, they were out of burnt ends, with the Habanero Jelly. They asked if they could put pulled pork, with Bbq sauce on top of the MAC N Cheese. I agreed, but was actually super disappointed. It was the only item on the menu that had some kick to it. I just didn't see a reason to look at the menu again, since it was so small. I wish we had just left, because my BF didn't like the menu. I was not getting what I wanted. Obviously, this was not a place for us. The chicken fingers were good, they were big, coated well, tasted like they may have added a touch of cornmeal. But they were still just chicken fingers. They do offer a variety of different sauces on the side. The Mac N cheese was much better than expected. The cheese was white and creamy. The pulled pork was basic sauce, it was cooked perfectly, and had some big pieces in there, and wasn't just stringy. Their ordering system is basically contactless ordering. The new way of the world. Ordering from your phone. Which is something I actually like. But a hostess is still needed. Whoever set this system up, did a terrible job uploading the menu. I wanted a drink with Vodka. The only option was"Vodka drink" when I pushed it, it said I needed to go to the bar. They had a couple of cocktails premade, but all with whiskey and gin. When I asked the female Bartender if they can make a Martini. She looked up at some guy, and waited for him to respond. But I quickly jumped in. Before he could say anything. I just asked if she could make one of their signature cocktails they have on the menu. But swap out, the gin for Vodka. I just wanted to keep this moving forward. They said no problem, and were very nice about it. Then I asked them how to order it at the table. They told me to order the gin drink I want, and they will remember to swap it out for me. I was impressed they got that right. For such a vast space, with high ceilings, the acoustics were amazing. It wasn't loud at all. Even the kids seemed to play quietly. When I finally sat down. I saw my BF looked miserable. My own nervous system had been feeling off too, and was a bit unsure. But everyone was super friendly. It just felt like we had an odd amount of super polite attention, that others were not getting. When I took a hard look around, I realized everyone there were dressed similarly, were polite, composed, quiet, having fun, and smiling. They looked like they all came straight from the same church. That's when it hit me, this is a community place with deep roots. They probably don't get many different types of people here. I live in a rural area too, but we are a diverse group of color, culture, and art. It took me a bit off guard.

It was confusing whether the promo was for the regular or large bowl; obviously it would have been a really good deal on the larger bowl, but the server said it was on the smaller, regular sized bowl. This was not mentioned in the promo email. It was still a reasonable price.

Seeing as I'm a Yelp-er, they wanted me to find a spot I hadn't been to yet, even though I had eaten dinner already on my own. I had The Ridge West Seneca saved in my "Places to Try" collection so I said let's go. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and grab a meal here and try the food for myself! We arrive just before 8pm on a Saturday night to a large gravel parking lot that was pretty busy, but we still found a spot pretty easily. We walked in and the hostess was able to seat the two of us at a booth right away! Inside it was very spacious with plenty of TVs going, a bar on one side, music playing overhead. Indoor noise was elevated (it's a restaurant that has a bar, it's going to not be quiet haha) but the two of us could carry on a conversation fairly normally. Our waitress came over immediately to let us know she'd be a few minutes as there were a few other tables she was handling. Fine by us as that allowed my buddy ample time to look over the menu and figure out what he wanted. I saw the St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail specials menu so I knew what I was ordering. Our waitress though - Absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, had great personality, and was really accommodating in splitting the check (I took care of all our drinks, my friend took care of his dinner). Our waitress did a great job checking in on us at the perfect time, we never felt pressured, rushed. I didn't order any food but my friend ordered their Steakhouse Strip off the "Large Plates" section of the menu, and boy oh boy, did that look amazing! The 12-ounce strip was cooked to a picture-perfect medium-rare with plenty of tobacco onions on top and around the plate, and served over a generous bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, served with a small cup of their A1 aioli. After seeing that, I certainly want to come back and order food. My friend really enjoyed their meal, the plate was clean! As for me, I ordered two St. Patrick's Day -themed cocktails: "Sham Rocked Shake" and "Irish Good Bye". The "Sham Rocked Shake" was vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, cream, and chocolate syrup and curls - This was creamy, delicious, not overly minty. The "Irish Good Bye" was Three Chord bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice with a lime wedge - There was so much flavor in this cocktail, the lemon juice added a pleasant fruity 'punch'. Looking at the prices for these cocktails, I felt they were in-line with most other places and they were made well so no complaints from me. The Ridge West Seneca really surprised me! I've driven past it a few times and wondered how good it was. From our friendly waitress and service, the delicious cocktails, to the fantastic-looking food, I am impressed. I'm looking forward to coming back soon for another night of drinks and to try some food!

Will give it another try, but feel it's going down hill. We left and went elsewhere for a salad. If the server had agreed to mix the dressings in the takeout bowls, we would have purchased them. Apparently they couldn't accommodate. I don't want a takeout, deconstructed salad. That's what made Mandy's so good, but I think they've missed that point. The place was empty on an early Sunday evening. Quite disappointing.

The waitress was pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The restaurant itself isn't too big but can seat a lot of people. Total wing vibe. Lots of different flavors and quantities went by...everything looked tasty and fresh. They had Yuengling on tap so that's what I ordered. She had a pepsi. Food arrived fast. The aroma was to die for (ok it burns the eyes a little...). Came with celery and blue cheese. The wings were amazing, some of the best I have ever eaten. Crunchy celery and cool dipping sauce. Bigger than most that I have ordered and very freshly prepared. After 6 I was filled up...but I ordered another brew just to wash it all down. I ordered the roast beef on Weck and fries instead of potato chips. I was very satisfied it was delicious. Very expensive, I found everything was very expensive on the menu, but if you want good food, I guess that's what you gotta do is pay more. Jim ordered mild wings, they still looked good even though I'm a hot wing person. I was looking at everybody else's huge plates of wings that were coming out and they looked so amazing. I'm definitely gonna get some to take home some time. Anyway, the wings looked good smelled good, Jim said they were very good, my sandwich was good. The fries were good, the waitresses were nice so the service was pretty good. But again too small, too loud, too hot, and those things just don't make me happy. I probably would go in there again and eat if somebody else wanted to, but I'd rather take my food to go next time. One other issue I had is definitely the restroom. That had to be the smallest stall I have ever been in. Anytime I moved I banged into one of the walls. They have two stalls in there, which to me is definitely not enough when you're serving "spicy hot " food. At one point there was five people in the restroom. Luckily, I just had to wash my hands in that visit. But the restroom is way too small and when I talk to Jim about the ladies room, he said the men's room is super small too, so they're probably about the same size. So that was definitely a negative thing for me was the restroom.

The only thing I didn't like about the visit was that there was an advertisement for a big commercial law firm on the back of the fortune slip and the "lucky number" was the phone number. I thought that was tacky. I walked out at 1:15pm. Great, quick lunch.

My receipt shows the server put the soup as my lunch choice and charged $2.95 for the eggroll. She never said a word, didn't point out that I could save a dollar by switching the sides around. So the people are all I thought plus kind and conscientious. Marvelous. I was delighted with everything I ate. The entree was enough for two, so supper came home with me. The eggroll was fresh and crisp and non-greasy, seemed homemade. Excellent. The eggplant was perfectly prepared and cooked, as was the pork. Delicious. The hot and sour soup was easily one of the best I've had, and I'm always looking for a great hot and sour soup. Coming from downtown Buffalo, we'd been in Williamsville because I had an appointment on Essjay Rd. Afterward, we looked for a place to have lunch before shopping. Finding Golden Hill at 4001 Sheridan Dr. in Amherst was pure serendipity. You can bet, though, that I will visit again after next appointment.

I only regret not finding this place sooner. The food is amazing. Not a single complaint with the food. Everything was perfect. My favorite is the Stir-Fried Cabbage w. Shrimp in Hot Pot (干锅高丽菜/干锅包菜）and the Cumin Beef (孜然牛). Something I'll absolutely order again next time. The Fried Yellow Croaker in Hot Sauce (干烧黄鱼) is also great. And that's coming from a guy who doesn't like fish. My only complaint is that they were slow to make our food. I get it's busy, but how are the other tables that came after us getting their food first? They have their table full with multiple dishes but I have yet to get one dish. The interior is simple, with lots of photos of the dishes and their names on the walls, which helps with ordering. Some things to note are that you'll get a small portion of fried peanuts and kimchi while you wait, you'll also be served free unlimited tea, and that the rice doesn't come with the entrees and are extra. They also offer a 10 or 15% discount if you pay in cash.

We always order enough food for 6-8 people and then take the rest home and eat them throughout the week. They have a huge menu and we continue to try one new dish every time we go. I don't have pics of everything we've ever ordered but our favorite items are: 1. sweet and sour pork - we always always always order this no matter what, and sometimes we get another order to go. It's nothing like the ones you get from other Chinese places. The coating is super crispy, and maintains its crispiness even after microwaving. The sauce is tangy with a hint of sweetness and not all thick/gooey and sugary like other places. I don't even like sweet and sour pork as a dish but I absolutely love and crave this all the time. 2. As for soups, we usually go for the Westlake beef soup. It's seasoned ground beef with tofu in a delicious egg drop like broth. It has a lot of cilantro so if you're not a fan of cilantro you won't like this. The wonton soup is very good too but it has seaweed in it for those who might not be a fan. I think you can probably ask for it without the seaweed though. 3. Scallion pancake stuffed with pork, beef, or lamb. All the meats are a little spicy and all are delicious, but our favorite is the pork. There's this homemade kimchi inside and it just makes it extra delicious. 4. Green beans and minced pork - it's my personal favorite vegetable dish. They did make this other dish that has bean sprouts with sliced pork but they took it off their menu a couple of months ago because not enough people order it :((( 5. All the dumplings. They're all homemade and I love them because the dough is not super thick like most other places. There's a good dough to filling ratio and that's one of the key characteristics of a good dumpling. We usually ask them to be pan fried (hubby prefers them that way) which takes extra long to do and costs extra, but is worth it if you like more of a potsticker style dumpling. Also, the wontons in spicy sauce is very tasty too - that's a dish we typically order as well. 6. We usually get some kind of beef dish. The ones I remember liking are the beef with scallions and onions, the black pepper beef, and the spicy shredded beef. I was ecstatic to see that I can order from China Taste on Uber eats. It usually takes 1hr to get it delivered but we live 30min away so that's expected. All the food are usually delivered still hot, and if not - they reheat very well, so no complaints here!
