I have previously given Frankie Primos five stars. We have been going to Frankie Primos for around three years. Our daughter moved to Buffalo from the coast of NC during Covid. Our family travels from 12 to 22 hours if driving . We have ate here about six times and have always loved it. We had reservations on May 21 for eight. We do not mind paying for a great meal and expect to pay a good amount for a party of eight. This was graduation weekend and everywhere was busy so we understood and expected that. We were not in a hurry and did not mind the wait for items ordered. We always look forward to the table side carbonara. Frankie has created it for us previously as well as another employee. It was on the special's list and we had four guest who wanted it so we ordered it. An employee came out and told us that you had to reserve the table side carbonara. What?? This has never been told to us previously when we were served this meal and it was not told to us when we made reservations. We reminded them that it is literally on the specials list for that evening! They would not budge. We were so disappointed. The food was also different. It was not nearly as delicious as it has been in the past. That was the opinion of everyone at the table. A waitress was very upset about another waitress leaving and not rolling silver ware. She was fussing about it as she cleaned the table beside us. They rolled silverware at a table close to us as we finished our meal. Let me say that our waitress did a good job serving us. We were reminded several times that it was graduation weekend which was fine and we knew that as our daughter was graduating from graduate school as well. This was not our best experience at all. The lack of willingness to serve what was available and on the specials list, lack of attention to details, the food, and a few employees makes me sad for the owner. He is such a great person. With all of that being said, I am not ready to give up on them yet. We will be back and hopefully things will be back to normal! read more

Homemade pasta, top knotch service, and complementary limoncello shots and mini Italian sesame cookies at the end of the delicious meal! Dan and I ended up sharing the different take on a Caesar salad (lighter dressing with lemon), baked & breaded artichoke, and our favorite the truffle mushroom fettuccini in a light cream sauce. They even split the portion in half for us! This dish had the right amount of creamy truffle sauce, few diff types of mushrooms, and that homemade fettuccini .. No words!! The complementary limoncello and sesame cookies were the perfect touch at the end! These little things make the difference! We started with the enormous portion of calamari ($12). Delicious, if a bit salty. Next came the equally enormous Gastronomia sandwich ($14) with prosciutto, hot soppressata, cappicola, mortadella, provolone, and roasted red peppers on a focaccia roll. Visited there last week. I got a pasta dish called Pollo Con Peperoni e Pomodori. It was not really that good at all. The pasta was way over cooked. It was supposed to have chicken in there and there were only a few fragments of meat. I am guessing maybe spoon full at the most. The disk had hardly any taste other than pepper. Oh, they don't bring any salt either. There was hardly anyone inside the restaurant and they placed us outside because they said nothing was open inside. That was OK but made the food get cold fast. They had written on their menu, to no ask to alter any dishes because they knew what they were doing. I honesty find that hard to believe for sure. The pasta was way over done almost mush at this point. I guess that is how they might fix it but, I don't see why anyone would ever eat that dish if that was the case. Wow!! Outstanding pizza! Great service from Lilly, Joe and Corey. The drinks (alcoholic) are pricey, but what isn't these days. The food that came out of the kitchen made me want to stay and try everything! Meat and cheese plates, salads as big as a pizza plate, shrimp the size of your finger and a whole new take on culinary pizzas that make you feel like you're in Italy. The food is very good here and is the reason for all the stars! The atmosphere is not the best, very small space and tables are right next to the bar so you do not have the typical low key Italian dinner vibe you would get from other places. Luckily they had dividers up because of covid so you felt a little secluded. Our server was so fantastic and I wish I remembered her name because she gave a lot of recommendations on what to order and did not steer us wrong! The "Cesar-like" salad was so amazing and was big enough to share (they do have half plates but it costs more). I was a little let down that they didn't have the bread with the garlic baked in it or the meatballs that are supposed to be very good(special item only available at certain times) but it gives me a reason to go back! We tried the cheese pizza and it was ok, I didn't want to eat too much because I was waiting for the pasta. I had the pappardelle and if you are a big meat eater this is the pasta for you! Very large ribbon pasta with a shredded pork in it but the sauce a bit light for me. I was hoping for more of an Alfredo type but still good. I also got to try the tagliatelle funghi is this is going to the go to for me even though I am not a big mushroom fan. The flavors were great and the consistency of the sauce and the size of the noodle is exactly my style. So happy we decided to come to this restaurant! A friend and I were in town for work and happened upon this little gem. We sat on the patio which had a great ambiance and great weather to boot. We started with the shrimp scampi - so good - and we both ordered the cheese tortellini with ribeye which was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was *chef's kiss*. I've been here a few times now and can say without doubt that their pasta is delicious. I've tried all of the pastas now and a few of the pizzas as well as some appetizers and have no complaints about anything, however some of the pasta dishes are not always consistent with our pasta experiences so I try to stick with the ones I know are delicious every time (the funghi!!). my favorite part about Frankie Primos is that you can order half portion so you can try a bunch of different ones and they're still really large portions. They do have some outdoor seating and a patio. Service is very hit or miss and there's oftentimes large, very loud parties so the last two times I've been they have offered a free appetoser or drinks because of how loud the groups next to us were. read more

Could work on some extra cleaning on busy nights, both our table and oddly enough the bathroom door handle were sticky (from my guess , spilled soda or alcohol). I've been wanting to try out this restaurant for the longest time and was not disappointed! They were pretty busy on a Thursday afternoon so I would recommend making reservations before you arrive. I had ordered the Carciofi Alla Romana as an appetizer and it was delicious. I've never had a baked artichoke so I figured, might as well try it. I'd order it again for sure. The Cacio E Pepe was my entree. The amount of pepper for this dish was perfect. I added shrimp to it as well. It was very flavorful but I wish they had added some sort of garnish and/or extra cheese. We had been planning to try this place out for months and finally made it. It wasn't crowded at all like most places during brunch, which was great, and we were greeted with a smile upon arrival (always a plus) lol. The waitress was very sweet, she highly recommended the giambotta and I'm glad she did! The portion size was large enough for my boyfriend and I to share, there was delicious bread as a starter and I had a nice strong mimosa to top it off. First off it was my Birthday treat from my GF... The meat platter was good with all the Italian deli slices and few olives and cheese cubes. But our main dishes were very very blain. We expected a lot more for the price we were paying, ( presentation, taste, portion size) but it wasn't anything special at all. I asked if they had somthing similar to a chicken parm, or a lemon butter chicken, or a sausage noodle dish... He suggested a chicken scampi. I made sure it didn't include seafood because I don't enjoy seafood. So our meal comes out and both me and my date can only taste a couple chunks of garlic and a mild hint of lemon in the chicken pieces, mention to or server and he brought over salt pepper and red p flake.. It was a legit huge bowl of tasteless noodles , salt and pepper kinda helped but not really. I wasn't trying to eat just salt and pepper basically . You think they would've made it creative and added tomatoes or zucchini, cappers something besides just chicken and noodles with maybe a glup of tasteless lemon sauce. Speaking of which I maybe had a handful of chicken in my meal. I asked for the family size 16oz which was supposed to be two chicken breast. Which I prolly got 3/4 of just one. We got charged and absurd amount of $48 for my terrible ridiculous dish. I'm disgusted at the price they charged for a fucking bowl of tasteless noodles. A bowl of noodles for $48 in downtown Buffalo. Sickening!!!!!! Better off ordering out better off legit doing anything else then spending $150 on legit tasteless ass gross food that is way over priced and basic...
