So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

In today's economy, it's rare to find a meal that still feels like an incredible value, but Frank's delivers generous portions and outstanding quality without breaking the bank. Every meat we tried was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation, from the perfectly smoked meats to the well-balanced seasoning. The sauces took everything to another level, adding the perfect finishing touch without overpowering the barbecue itself. We ordered the "works" two-person plate with tri tip, chicken, brisket, and pork ribs, along with coleslaw, salad, and grilled vegetables--and everything was exactly what good BBQ should be. The meats were tender, smoky, and full of flavor, and the sides were fresh and tasty. We especially loved the cornbread and Parmesan garlic cheese rolls, which were warm and delicious. The only thing I wished is that the burger didn't feel as heavy/greasy, but if that were the case, I probably wouldn't have chosen a burger. That said, the grease did feel like it took away from the flavors, making the burger tasting milder than I had wanted. That said, it was very enjoyable overall. The dog menu was surprisingly different from what I've seen. It was surprisingly healthy looking with the amount of vegetables they added to my dog's bowl including some Brussels sprouts. There was no rice at all, which was fine for me since my dog doesn't really like rice. Unfortunately, he is so picky, so he picked out the chicken from the vegetables even with me pre-mixing it, and I think the vegetables are too firm to his liking. However, I appreciate the food being healthy and the portions, even if he himself will not really eat most of it. I'm sure some other dog will do a lot better with the bowl!

My daughter said it tasted funny so I took a sip and it tasted like rotten milk. So I asked for fountain drinks instead and the Tamarindo was not good either. I didn't even drink it I took two sips. There's a spot across the street called La Tapatia, we should have just stuck to that, or even chucks tacos down the street.

The lovely host at the counter knew her dishes and helped us make a selection. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, and he had the salmon roll (easily one of the best sandwiches he's had in a while). Everything was flavorful, fresh, and just really well done. (We overheard the chef talking with another guest about how everything is made from scratch in house using the freshest ingredients, and you can truly taste the difference). This little corner burger spot on the edge of Upland feels like a hidden gem with gourmet quality... We'll be back to try more menu items and their homemade desserts!

The spareribs had a good amount of meat and the sauce went well. The staff is nice and the place is clean.

This place was nice, clean, and sports ready to watch! Mike the owner, thank you for your military service and talking with us! It was another hot day so I just drank iced water to stay hydrated! I ended up getting not just one, but both lunch specials! I had the 1/4 Burger with fries and the All beef hot dog with tator tots. Both came with drinks and I probably should have asked them for both as they were included at least to go ones. Their burger was great tasting with cheese, lettuce, pickle, and tomato. I had minus onion. The all beef hot dog was very good as I added mustard, ketchup, and relish. Fries and tots were cooked perfectly. Love the ranch dressing for dipping! This was a great visit! This place is owned by a veteran so it's all veteraned out inside, they have TVs up around, a bar area & tables throughout. Cool little spot to come grab some food & beer!
