Do you close at 2:15 PM or 2:30 PM? I've been going to Frank's for many years. It's never been my "go to" but it's been okay. I was going to take a friend of mine to lunch and google showed them closing at 2:30 PM. I called to verify that they did ind d close at 2:30 PM and was blown away at the conversation. The lady answering the phone told me that they closed at 2:30 PM. I told her that we would be there shortly before closing for lunch. Then she hemmed and hawed and sounded concerned. I laughed and asked if we were good. She told me that the kitchen would "start to close at 2:15 PM" to which I asked if they closed at 2:15 PM or 2:30 PM. She couldn't or wouldn't give me a clear answer and didn't sounds very friendly about it. I find it pretty pathetic to have hours until 2:30 PM when that's not the case. In my opinion they would be better off to just announce closing at 2:00 PM but then be gracious enough to let people order until 2:15 PM. Of course then the kitchen staff would start closing at 1:45 PM. The Italian food at Key Colony Inn is significantly better than Frank's anyhow so no great loss and I've had my last meal at Frank's. read more

Franks is an oasis in tourist hell. In a strip mall away from the overpriced food the tourists eat sits franks. The food was excellent. I had eggplant parm and my wife had a tuna sandwich and both were great. We shared a tomato and mozzarella salad as an app and it was so good. Be sure you call by 4pm if you want a reservation... We got turned away on Friday and instead dined on Saturday night. Only 6-8 inside tables and outside is weather dependent. They did have a saxophone player outside....he was good too. Food is excellent and portions are large.... Escargot was so so...lobster bisque was great as was my Duck and her Veal chop.Also came with nice warm bread and ample salad. For 2 total came to just under $120. There were 3 of us. My guests had the baked lasagna and the scallop over pasta in a lemon garlic caper sauce. Both said it was excellent. I went traditional with penne pasta with meat sauce and meatball. Had great flavor with a generous amount of meat in the sauce. The meatballs were also really good but would say the needed more parmigiana in them. I finished my meal with cannoli's. The texture was just right, not runny and not paste. The flavor was perfect. Frank's never fails to impress! Tried their chicken Cordon Bleu this time and it was the best chicken Cordon Bleu I've ever had in my life! It's not normally on the menu ..it was a special.. but if it's on the special board be sure that you get it!! Mindy was the epitome of an ideal server. Kind, attentive and educated about the menu but not overbearing or overzealous. I appreciate it when servers are attentive but don't try to impose their self into your date night. Haha! Packed and busy and staff were running around like crazies. We didn't have reservations on a random Tuesday at 7:30pm. So we stood in this tiny restaurant, in everyone's way, watching the spectacle. It was almost amusing to watch. We had no idea who to talk to about getting a seat or where to move to get out of their way. Finally at some point, a nice hostess or waitress asked us how many for dinner. She tried really hard to fit us in, told us to come back in half an hour, but then ran out after us because she could fit us in. I appreciate hard effort like that. She could have easily said "Nah we're full come back another day" but she didn't. So we were seated. The atmosphere is a bit old Italian. Dimmed lights, wooden tables, wine glasses clinking ya know..... Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. She just had a good vibe and smile. The meal: I got the Veal Piccata and it was flavored. Oh boy was it flavored. You can't say this dish did not have lemon and caper flavor. So I was happy with it. Hubby got the pork chops. 4 little pork chops were moist and delectable. Again full of flavor. We both really enjoyed them. Penne with Pink Vodka Sauce was great. Just the way Italian pink sauce tastes in Italy. It's hard to find this in the states so I was impressed. Oh and the roasted, whole garlic cloves that come with the bread were a nice touch. I haven't seen that before and I liked it. As busy as this place was my lemon water glass was consistently refilled without having to ask. I don't know the history of this place, but my guess is that Frank opened up a little grill, people flocked to him cuz he was an amazing chef, and it grew into a staple, Italian restaurant but kept the original name. The spaghetti with garlic and oil is a bucket list experience (extra toppings optional). Food quality is top notch across the board. The staff is friendly and service timely. Just about everything here is 4*. I wanted it to be 5*, but it just couldn't make it. The waitress was a bit too cute. All the food was a bit too bland. The house Chianti was a bit too cheap. Not bad for a tourist town, but certainly not a 5* experience. In My wife liked it more than me. There was one bit of 5* to the night. Like many of the restaurants on the area, if you catch a fish while out fishing, and bring it to the restaurant, they will cook it for .you in your choice of several different ways. One of the other patrons brought in a large fish that was caught that afternoon and had it fried in pieces. There was so much that they could not come close to eating it, so he offered pieces to everyone else in the room. It was one of the best pieces of fish I have ever had. read more

I read the reviews for Frank's Grill here on yelp and when I pulled up it was exactly as explained. It's in the back of a shopping center, if you didn't hear about the place you would never find it. When we walked in they were quite busy but they sat us quickly. Our waiter was great, our order came out quick. They give you fresh bread and this yummy garlic and it took all I had not to eat the whole basket. So glad I didn't because my food was off the chain. So good! The sauce was outta this world. Anyone who loves Italian food should definitely go. I'm glad I listened to the yelp reviews! Thanks yelp for helping me find another great place! read more

Stayed in Marathon this week. We have ate Frank's twice in 4 days. I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious. The second time I had the lasagna. Picked up take out from Frank's for the first time and we were impressed! I had the chicken franchise with broccoli and my date had the snapper franchise with a side pasta. Both were so delicious! Portions are so big we had enough for another full meal. Dinners also come with bread and your choice of soup/salad. We chose the bisque. It was "ok" but would probably go with the salad next time. They are busy and sometimes they take there phone off the hook! They are rude and don't acknowledge you standing in there doorway waiting for a table or an order for pick up. Want to start off by saying the food was amazing. Would have given it a five star review except we had a horrible experience with the server. The first words out of her mouth were you have to move and sit on the other side of your table because you're too close to the person next to you. Don't you know how to social distance! She then walked away and my wife and I stared at each other in disbelief. When she came back I started to tell her that we were offended with her attitude and tone but she cut me off to tell us she is tired of dealing with people all day long and telling them they have to wear masks and social distance. She would not let me speak and immediately said she will get another waitress for us to deal with. The gentleman that became our waiter was a godsend. Four of us had lunch at Frank's Grill today, one of the best meals we've had in the week we've been here. It's not on the water and doesn't have a view, but the locals eat here and you get hearty portions of tasty food at reasonable prices. Our server was lovely and helpful - she steered us away from "the one item on the menu that was not good today." We started out with large, warm rolls to dip in melted garlic butter, and midway through our meal she surprised us with carafes of soda for refills. The club sandwich and the meatball grinder were huge, the BLT was filled with lots of bacon, and our server suggested subbing out one of the meatballs for sausage in the pasta dish. Everything was delicious, and we are all happily stuffed! read more
