I am not sure why this place does not get more stars. We're from Jersey where you can find really good Italian American places at every corner in downtown areas. However, Fratelli's is hands down better than any of the Italian places we go to in Jersey. Every time we come to our place out here in PA, we have dinner at fratelli's. We ordered here for the first time on a Monday night. They don't have an online ordering option, so I placed our order by phone, after viewing the menu on their website. The girl on the phone was very nice and told me there was a 25 minute wait. When we arrived the girls at the counter were very nice and our food was ready. The House Special pizza was very tasty, however the toppings were overkill. I understand there's a lot but the quantity of them could have been held back because it caused the crust to become so soggy and unpleasant to eat. The sandwiches were super tasty but I had the same soggy issue with the bread on my Italian sandwich so because of this I took a star off. My husband got the cheeseburger Jawbreaker and loved it. He loved that there was just mayo, lettuce and tomato and said it was delicious. Would we return? Yes! But we'll definitely order a pizza with much less toppings so we can enjoy the flavor of the pizza more! read more

Very disappointed in the Luke warm pizza, penne pasta dish and service. The kitchen should have insisted in getting it out asap. The best thing about our dinner tonight was my Peroni beer. Went here for dinner a week ago, the best thing brought to us was the salad. The sprite, clearly from the soda gun was foul. The lines are definitely not cleaned properly. The salad was fine. 2 of us ordered the lasagna, meatballs & sausage. Big mistake. Sausage was already cut up into coins & in a bowl of sauce. Maybe it's me, but when I order sausage I want a sausage not something that looks like someone else's leftovers. The meatballs tasted like a wet sponge. But the kicker was the lasagna. I don't know how to describe it except to say the pasta was the consistency of hummus. It was a mouthful of mush. I don't understand how that's even possible but that's what we both got. I actually smeared it on my plate. The waitress asked if I wanted a to go box, I laughed and said no thank you & she laughed to I guess the joke was on me. Finally got the bill. Paid bill, left 20% even thought she wasn't great and got out of there. No idea if this is normal as we have never been there before & believe me we're not going back. read more

Decided to give Fratelli's a shot for dinner before going to a musical. Immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. We both had martinis that were delicious. Not overpowering on the alcohol taste(which I like). I had Italian Wedding Soup to start and my mother got the potato soup. The Italian Wedding had sooo many meatballs in it and the flavor was delicious. I had the fettucine alfredo for dinner and mom got the chicken parm. I have to add the garlic bread was super fresh and yummy also. It was one of the best fettucine Alfredo's ever. Sometimes when you order it it's too buttery and separates. This was so thick creamy. Perfect blend of cheese and garlic. The portion had to be a pound of pasta and had plenty leftover for another meal. I didn't try the chicken parm but it was easily two large pieces of chicken and a good amount of spaghetti. Overall excellent experience. Our server(who I forgot her name,apologies) was very sweet and attentive. Highly recommend for a cozy Italian meal. Next time I will try their pizza. Keep up the great work! read more

Decent place with decent food. There's nothing spectacular about the decor... looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. The pizza and hoagies are always good and the cheese fries are great. Whenever I've gotten dinner, it's always been hit and miss. The portions are big but the taste isn't always on par; I would prefer smaller portions for always delicious food. read more

I'm writing this at the table waiting for our check. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very friendly. Ordered a diet coke and a side salad to start, followed with a chicken parm hoagie. Salad was small and very basic, lettuce some cucumbers croutons and tomato. Sandwich was VERY good, as I typically love trying a places chicken parm hoagie first and it did not let me down. Right amount of sauce, and a great chicken to bread ratio. Here comes the bill. Wait Wait $4.50 for that side salad? WHAT? I now begin to chew on the table and steal silverware to made up for my losses. I can't believe I'm looking at a salad plate that I could hide in my wallet it is so small which again I paid almost the price of my hoagie for. I guess this is why the waitress recommended it..crafty yet sneaky..I prefer the waitress to at least give me a free condom when she knows I'm about to F*** myself by accepting the side salad. If I could only find the backspace button I would bsckspace out the good things I said Ab this place. But I can't afford a phone that has one due to paying $4.50 for a handfull of lettuce. Ok so I went here twice and had bad experiences both times. It was very cold inside and uncomfortable. I ordered the pizza and it was so hot I burned the inside of my mouth! Also it was so hot the cheese was running off the pizza . Not good! Second time I was there it was a little warmer which is good but same thing with the pizza! Also waitresses were less than friendly and I actually yelled at one of them and it takes a lot for me to get mad. She saw we were done and continued to ignore us. Never asked us about the food and never refilled our drinks! We waited and waited and waited for our bill until I finally went up to the girl and said if someone doesn't give me my bill soon then I'm leaving . I was so pissed! Never ever again! read more

The red sauce is very flavorful, not sweet like some places. Theirs tastes bold and garlicky, just like my Sicilian great-grandmother's recipe. And even some American dishes to boot. But if you get anything here, the pizza is the way to go. We had lunch here for the first time today and it was great. We visited after the Trolly Museum. The house pizza, salad, and cheesesteak were delicious. The service was great including the manager checking in on us. The check was a nice surprise- less than $50 for four people with enough leftovers for a whole other meal. read more

At Fratelli's, the food speaks for itself, but the service is sorely lacking.....from waiting for a table to not receiving drinks to getting cold food, Fratelli's was able to hit the "poor service trifecta" not once, but twice. Don't be dismayed by my three star rating. I like Fratelli's, I really do. But, there is room for improvement. There are not many Scranton locations open on a Sunday, so the convenience of Fratelli's is appreciated. They have great plain pizza and you can order take out by the slice. I have never had a bad meal there, but I think it is expensive for the quality of the food. You can go to similar Italian restaurants and spend less or go to nicer ones and spend the same amount. The service is adequate overall. Depending on customer flow, sometimes they are fast, sometimes they are slow. They usually have a specialty martini menu, so keep an eye out for that. Once ordered a caramel apple martini and the bartender drizzled the caramel on the outside of our glasses, which was bizarre and messy. I've been going to Fratelli's for years. Overall, they get five stars. It's a locally owned restaurant. Almost everything is made to order and the wait staff is typically amazing. Haven't gone as much recently simply because the size of my family has gone up along with Fratelli's prices. I do, however, understand that is how the world works. Instead of being a weekly (or daily!) stop, it's every few months, but we are still welcomed with open arms! I can't recommend any foods because I am a picky eater and they usually have to make something off the menu for me, but I can tell you the chicken strips are amazing. :) read more

Never again. My husband had mozzarella stuck as an appetizer. They tasted like they we're cooked in 2 week old, burnt, un-filtered oil. I had a Turkey sub (hoagie). Ugh. Probably the worst waitress service I've ever had in a restaurant . despite making a reservation and knowing that a large party was coming , the waitress was horrendous. While the pizza dough was pretty good, the rest of the food ordered was on par with Middle School cafeteria style Italian food. What frustrates me the most is we could have gone anywhere. Like everyone, we work hard for our money and we chose to spend it at Fratelli's. We were seated and the hostess asked for our drink order, which was very efficient and she was very nice! After a few minutes our drinks are plopped down by who we can only assume was our waitress because there was no introduction, no small talk, just "are you ready?" Well geez yes I guess so. We are not hard to please but from moment one we were made to feel like we were a bother- maybe we were the last table before Jenn M (only knew her name from the receipt) was cut and she was inconvenienced to wait on us. We order and eventually the food is plopped on the table- imagine that because I'm trying to create a visual here- just plates dropped down with no care or friendliness. We were never asked if we needed anything just frankly told "I'll get your bread." Well okay then. The food was...ok. Not great but hey maybe it was and we were still left with the sour taste in our mouth from our waitress- I'll tell you what though if the food was bad we would never have had the opportunity to tell her- she never asked how everything was. We cleaned our plates, and then got an "anything else?" 'diner' response. We usually love coming here but on this visit we could not leave fast enough so we said no, and then had the check plopped down on the table. Payment was scooped up, and plopped back down with a "there ya go" response. Yeah, you have a great night too. Let me start by saying I grew up in NY and I'm very picky with my pizza. I've been going to fratellis for years and their pizza is one of the best pies in the area. Wings are great too. Huge portions with dinners as well. Only complaint is that their prices are a bit higher than most , though they are much better than most in the area as well. read more
