On my previous visits, the food was prepared by the owner or their family members, and the sandwiches were excellent--high quality and generously filled. Lately, it seems a younger employee is making the sandwiches, and they are not being prepared correctly. I understand the economy is tough, but when customers spend their hard-earned money to support a local business and treat themselves, they shouldn't be consistently dissatisfied. Today, I ordered a pesto sandwich and a smoked turkey sandwich, specifically paying extra for additional meat because I had noticed a trend of skimpy portions. Unfortunately, as you can see in the comparison photos, both arrived with barely any meat at all. I actually called the restaurant to address this. The young man on the phone sounded embarrassed but told me there was nothing he could do and instructed me to contact DoorDash. I am sharing this--along with the side-by-side photos of how great the pesto sandwich used to be versus what is being made now--in the sincere hope that it helps the management improve their standards rather than discourage them. Sadly, after three strikes, I won't be returning.
