This dealership is the model for customer satisfaction. I am made to feel like I am their only customer each time I have had the need for work or repair on my Lexus SUV. It starts with the person who answers the phone and carries through all the way to the person (who I believe is the service manager) shakes your hand goodbye and wishes you a good day. There are attendants for the customers at every turn. It is such a pleasant experience. I set up at their very nicely accommodating work station to plug in my computer and get work done while waiting. I am excited to pick out my next Lexus at Freeman. I took my 2013 Lexus GS350 with 19,500 miles in for its 20,000 mile service. This is the same as a 5,000 mile service which equates to basically an oil/filter change, tire rotation and check of fluids. My car is under a Certified Pre-Owned bumper to bumper warranty. I've noticed wind noise coming from the driver window and I asked to have that checked out as well. I was told by Calli Dellucchi (service writer) that this should take 1 hour and 15-20 minutes so I elected to wait. Three hours later the vehicle was done. She told me that they would have to take off the door trim panel to see what was causing the wind noise and they wouldn't know if it would be covered under warranty until they did same. She confirmed that the service tech acknowledged there was a problem. However, it might not be covered under warranty and if they decided it wasn't, I'd have to pay labor at a rate of I believe $150/hour. I don't understand how a confirmed problem would not be covered under my bumper to bumper warranty. I chose not to take the financial risk. The car was poorly washed and not dried. As I was driving home, I looked at the display on my instrument panel and it showed very dangerous tire pressures all around. When I dropped it off, the tire pressures were 32, 33, 33, 33. Manufacturer's recommendation is 33/tire. After the service it was 47, 48, 48, 48! This is 15 lbs over what is recommended and could have resulted in a blowout. When I arrived home, I manually checked each tire to rule out a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system. The numbers displayed on my instrument panel were indeed correct. I called the dealership to inform Ms. Dellucchi of what occurred. I was sent to her voice mail and I left her a message to please give me a call. I have not received the courtesy of a return call. Between the service taking almost 3 times what was represented, them not checking the cause of the wind noise problem under the bumper to bumper warranty without risk of me having to pay for it, the poor car wash, the very dangerous over inflation of my tires and the failure to return my call, I am very dissatisfied with this dealership. For those who may read this review, check your tire pressure before you leave there! read more

Wow this place gets 5 stars for super great customer service and no hassles. Been here twice, and both times were great. They gave me a rental car to use since I live 4 hours away free of charge. I brought my car in for service. It took over 20mins until someone came out to help me. Then I got a snooty remark that my car wasn't purchased through them (thank god it was from Carlsbad) and they asked what I needed. I stated I had an appointment for service. The service I got sucked, they were not personable at all! When I requested a courtesy car, I was treated like I was out of line... I have ALWAYS been offered a courtesy car from Carlsbad or Concord when getting any sort of service done. The dealership is clean, and nice. The cashier was very personable and sweet. I will drive to concord or Marin before I come back here. read more

The symptom: My RX300 screeched like a dying pig when started one morning. Tried it again later in the day - same excruciating noise. After letting it sit for 2 days, it turned out the battery was dead. AAA towed the car to Freeman: $72. There the mechanic couldn't reproduce the noise and just recharged the battery. $37.50. Took car home. Next day: same noise. Asked knowledgeable friend from different dealership. He immediately said: "The alternator belt needs tightening. Just start the car, let it screech, the noise will go away, and let them tighten the belt." O.K., back to Freeman. Savvy service rep Ryan agreed, testing the belt: "Yep, needs tightening." That happened, and it cost me another $37.50. So we spent altogether (not counting our time) $147 for the tightening of a belt. Suggestion 1: A mechanic should not just try to recreate a symptom, but look for the cause of the symptom, or ask a more experienced colleague. Suggestion 2: Lexus should (like Honda, for instance) follow up with a call after a service to ask if everything is fine, and also give out an evaluation form. Allegedly this is now in place (mid-February 2010); but in the last 5 or 6 years of using Freeman for an ES300 and this RX300, I have not seen either. Suggestion 3: If a service rep senses that a customer is getting miffed (that's me!) he doesn't answer a question like "Are you sure that's all, the battery?" by saying, "I don't have a crystal ball." And a service pro knows the difference between an excuse ("We thought at first that ...") and an apology. After all, we cringed, but paid $147. read more

A little over six years ago I bought my first Lexus from salesmen Mitch Lader and it was a very easy and painless experience. I have been in the market for a used Lexus and headed up to Freeman Lexus where I found a really nice certified Lexus vehicle on the lot, I go inside to find a salesman and there's Mitch still working there after all these years. As usual I was provided with the same great service from Mitch, no pressure and no bullshit and a simple negotiation where I got a very fair deal. Had a great experience buying my new-to-me Lexus ES300H. I worked with Mitch Lader and was very satisfied with the whole process. I was looking for a used car and found much more than I expected - a 2016 model with a mere 5000 miles on it. Mitch was very straight forward, polite, and easy to work with. He made good recommendations between choices after learning about our preferences. They guys are friendly, efficient and honest people. Provided a free loaner despite having bought the car in another state. Washed the car. Contacted me by cell when car was ready. Overall very pleasant. We recently bought a Lexus ES 300H from Freeman Lexus and have been very happy with the process and the followup. Our sales person was Mitch Lader and he is terrific to work with. He is very competent and knowledgeable, listens and communicates well, and was very helpful at every turn. There was no pressure and no hassle. When the exact car we wanted was not available in the Bay Area, Mitch tracked down the car we wanted on its way to the US from Japan and arranged delivery to Santa Rosa. We got the car with very competiitve pricing and in a reasonably short period as predicted. All this was much better than an aborted experience with another Bay Area Lexus dealer prior to going to Freeman Lexus. After purchase Mitch investigated and arranged window tinting, responded quickly and effectively to questions, and has helped us several times with understanding and implementing the technology aspects of the car. Always gracious, effective and available. We did initially have a quirky and unusual initial problem with the Navigation system, but the service department stuck with it and solved the problem. Other than that temporary issue the car has been terrific. Freeman Lexus has a quality setup and excellent facilities. Everyone there has consistently treated me with dignity and respect and provided great service. Michael Courier made the purchase process the best I've ever experienced. He listened to my requirements, explained my options, and energetically helped me find the car that best fit my needs. Michael was out of the office when my car was delivered but he left me in good hands with Mitch Lader. Went in about a recall on the airbags, was told by the service center, that it would take no longer than an hour to an hour and a half, I was waiting by the phone, let two hours go, then I decided to call them back; to my surprise no answer. Lexus didn't bother to give me a call and let me know that my car wouldn't even be ready, I had all my work items in the vehicle which I need the very next day. Got a call late in the afternoon the next day that it wasn't ready because they didn't have the correct part, but I still was left without a vehicle for the night and the following day. Got my car back, and there was white marks all over my back seats, they had tossed my lunch bag into the back seat and spilled whatever drink I had in there onto my back seats. This is my first experience with the dealership and service center, I was excited to drop it off, but I'll never go back, I rather drive to Petaluma to get my service needs done there. read more

We called the sales dept. to get rates for a new Lexus R350. We spoke to Rick. He seemed very annoyed that we wanted to negotiate and instead of giving us an offer, he asked us what we wanted to pay for the car. When we gave him our thoughts, he chuckled and said "keep calling" meaning, keep calling other dealerships. His tone was very rude and dismissive. The appropriate response would have been, "sorry, we can't meet your offer, but this is what lease terms I can offer you..." He didn't want to negotiate or even be bothered with a 5 minute phone conversation. Telling us to "keep calling" is basically telling us to get lost. Extremely rude. A few days later, we leased an R350 at the Lexus Concord dealership. I'm very disappointed in the lack of customer service Rick showed especially since he works on commission and should want to make a sale. We will never go to Freeman Lexus and if anyone else asks, I'll tell them to try Concord instead. read more

Impressive facility, nice waiting area, competent and friendly service advisors-all what you would expect from a Lexus dealership. I recently took my RX350 in because the tire pressure monitoring warning light wouldn't reset. They told me 1 of the tire pressure sensors was bad and replaced it for $230. I waited for about 2 hours. On the way home, the warning light came on again, so I turned around and went back. Oh, it looks like another sensor is dead. Shoudn't they have caught that the first time? Another 2 hr wait and another $230. In all, $460 and most of a day waisted waiting for 2 tire sensors. Shortly after, I discovered that Costco is fully equipped to replace the the tire sensors, and their price is $75. Now I know that most tire stores these days can replace the sensors, and based on the 3 local shops I checked, for $75 to $85. OK, the 2 star rating actually belongs to ME. I just paid 3 times the going rate in exchange for a nicer waiting room and a $10 drive through car wash. I let them get me. Once. read more

Note: This is for the service department only. We bought our car from this same dealer a couple of years ago, but apparently that does not account for much with the service department. We have no issue with the sales department. My wife did some minor damage to her front bumper and brought it in for a rough estimate. At the same time, she asked about some thin peeling rubber strips from the front tire. This is the "rim protector" portion of the tire which is designed to help protect the rim from scratches when parking. Even though I said this minute amount of peeling was normal and of no concern, she want a "professional" opinion. To my surprise, the service person (sorry, I do not have a name) not only told her it was a safety issue and must be replaced, he also said the entire rim should be replaced, even though it was just scratched. He said it would be about $1000 for the two. I told her to stop by some other tire dealer and ask the same question. Sure enough, the guy at Les Schwab said it was perfectly safe and he would have no problem having his young daughter drive on it. The rim protector was just doing its exact intended function. Because of this shady treatment, we found another place (Zappelli's) to do the bumper repair...and at exactly half the cost of the dealer's estimate. Moral of the story: Apparently automotive service folks still try to scam women with unneeded repairs. I would avoid this service department...but if you must go, don't send your wife if she is not mechanically inclined. read more

update to my review about Freeman Lexus. Unfortunately my view on the dealership has take a 180 degree turn. We purchased a 2017 Infiniti QX80 from Freeman Lexus. We drove about 4 hours north to specifically see this vehicle, upon arriving the car look immaculate. Mitch, the salesperson that helped us gave us the information about the car and explained to us that Freeman Lexus had an extremely extensive "multi point inspection process" for every vehicle that comes into their dealership before it goes up for sale. After purchasing the QX80 the following day I did a complete detail and inspection on my own. Upon my inspection of the undercarriage of the vehicle I was disappointed and angry to find that the entire undercarriage, frame, crossmembers, suspension, rear end and electronic components under the car were covered in rock solid mud even the exhaust was covered in the mud which had been cooked on the exhaust pipes, it looked as if some teenage kid had taken the vehicle through a giant mud hole and literally got it stuck in the mud up to the frame rails. My wife and I were appalled to discover that this "luxury vehicle" we purchased from this so called "Luxury Dealership" had allowed this vehicle to pass through multiple departments and their so called "extensive multi point inspection", which makes us wonder if the vehicle were even inspected at all ? We immediately contacted the dealership and notified the used car sales manager Greg Adair we notified him of what we discovered and how disappointed we were, we also asked how this passed inspection to be sold at the dealership and Greg could not give a reasonable response, he stated it must have been and oversight. Greg said that he would speak with his boss and they would go over some options to try to rectify the situation. After approximately one week of not hearing from the dealership I made a phone call to Greg for an update, at that time they still had no decision about what they should do about the situation so Greg stated "how about we just send you a gift card for your troubles for $100". I let Greg know that they should do what they think is the right thing to do if they were in our situation. Currently I have approximately 6 hours of my own time broken into different days laying under the car with a water hose and a screwdriver to break the mud up and clean the mud from under the car and all of the undercarriage components. I wanted to write update my review of the dealership because I wanted other people to know and understand how our situation was not taken very serious and be careful when buying a car from Freeman Lexus. We have not received the gift card, but if we do we will donated it to charity. 100 dollars isn't enough money to make me go away. Make it right and I will delete the reviews on yelp, yellow pages, car gurus, cars.com, autotrader. read more
