First off. I fuck with meat. I don't do vegan shit. So if you hate vegan food this is the review for you. My brother lives up in Tustin and tells me about this place. He raves about it here and there. Anyways, me and a couple mutual friends went up to Tustin to see him. I am with my boy and he's a big fool. Dude heard we were going to eat vegan food he wanted to change plans and grab some Jumbo Jack's ASAP. I didn't blame him. I was really skeptical about eating here cause like I said before I would prefer to fuck with some meat in my meal, but hey there is a first time for everything. It was cold that day and rained a bit, but I found parking along the street right around the corner of the place. Right upon entering all the employees had the face mask on for our protection. There was a patio area for sitting outside with heat lamps. Seats were comfortable out there too, but that's not what you wanna hear. Sat down and they gave us some menus. They gave us that fancy bottle of water in the glass bottle to pour out to other small glasses. 10/10. My brother who has spent a few thousand dollars there in the past year or so said to get the Curry Ramen. He also said to order a Matcha Granita. Let's break down the Ramen. Veggies : Fresh and tasted great with the broth. Broth : Delicious. Noodles : Perfect. Fake Meat Stuff : Some kind of witchcraft of meat. Tasted and felt like meat. But was not meat. 10/10. Granita was great too. Get one. Do it. So like if you want to eat a bit healthier, this is the spot. Highly recommend the Curry Ramen or Kimchi Ramen. I only picked up a peanut butter torte to go and my review is based on the item only. It is a nasty cheap whipped cream stale peanut chunks no cheese cake. I had a stomachache and suffered from bloated feeling all night. It is a bad idea to put roasted chopped peanuts in the mixture and let the cake sit all day totally caused the nuts go soggy and stale. Cream that was used in the cake tasted like acidic artificial whipped cream which left a sourness and grease in my mouth. The ambience was great. Cute little outdoor area and the sitting areas inside looked very cozy and nice. I wouldn't mind trying to sit there and have a coffee if I am in the area. Hope the coffee is good tho. read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a really long time and until recently tried this place out. I'm glad I did because this is one of the best vegan pizzas I have had ever! Located in downtown Tustin area, of Orange County this place is legit!! First off the outside patio in the front is really nice and that is where we chose to sit for our dinner. First you have to order in front of the cash register. After that they will give you a number to place on your table so they can find you later and drop the food off. We ordered the potato pizza and one of my favorite things to eat is potato. It had a nice mix of soft, crisp and chewiness. I would totally recommend this pizza!! On the other hand I also had dessert which was the Oreo cheesecake which has a strong lemon flavor in it. I asked months ago why no wifi and they listened. Their quality is also consistent. I've been stopping by to get muffin and coffee in the morning. Delicious muffin and good coffee! Yum! Yes, I heard about the grumbling of those whom I gave a recommendation about this place. It's pricey! I agree. But what can I say, I love the quality. I don't go there often but everytime I go and get something it was always pleasant and delicious. I heard someone said that it is more expensive than Native Foods. I think the food is higher quality than Natives. That's my opinion. I love their waffle, especially, pumpkin waffle. It really filled me up. I also like their banana coconut muffin, apple pumpkin muffin, lemon poppy seed muffin, and their cakes. The soups are great too and come in a big bowl with a great tasting bread. Their teas are yummy. I love the Peach Rooibos tea and it is served in a glass carafe. The environment is certainly much more pleasant. Finally had a chance to come here to give it a try. Been wanting to try the coffee for a while and see if it's comparable to the usual coffee I love down the street. The choices here are usual like everywhere else, so i thought I just take my usual latter. When I ordered the latte, I asked for soy milk and the respond I got was annoyed cashier letting me know they make all coffee with soy. Geeze, my apology that I didn't know that... It's my first time here, but I guess I'm suppose to know that. Now, I want some breakfast to go with that. Well, there's not that many choices (5 or 6 items only). This is a fantastic find in Old Town Tustin. We enjoyed the friendly staff and efficient service. The food was the best part. I enjoyed the Panini Frittata, which is vegan scrambled eggs, Roma tomatoes, red onions, heirloom arugula, with a sun-dried tomato aioli. My wife had the Atlantic Sandwich, which had vegan tuna, capers, oregano, red onions, organic mixed greens with a house spread. Both sandwiches came on sourdough bread and a wonderful side of organic mixed greens that included grape tomatoes and candied pecans! I finished off the meal with a tasty affogato for dessert! This little gem catches a lot of heat regarding individuals upset that they can't burn a seat for a few hours to study or read. First off, if you go to a local restaurant to study, you're a complete idiot and you clearly don't own a business. The worst customers on earth are the ones do that type of garbage.... go to a library or a park, simple as that. Studying doesn't pay their bills. Next, I do agree the manner in which they verbalize themselves (it's basically been the same 3 employees for over 7 years) could use some fine tuning, but I truly believe it's simply a language/cultural barrier and they mean no harm. Also, nobody cares that you paid for food or a drink.. that doesn't give you the right to sit around for another hour---eat your stuff..maybe kick back a few minutes and leave--if you bust out a book and a highlighter you are a complete moron and school isn't going to solve your lack of common sense. Perhaps the lights being so dim you can barely see the menu is the first clue. Overall, I enjoy a lot of stuff on their menu and I'm not vegan. The outdoor patio is absolutely stunning, and if you're sensitive to cold weather (when it's cold), don't worry, there's outdoor heaters! If you come here with absolutely no expectations and no prior experience to eating vegan food, then you will love your visit here. My friend and I shared the truffle burger, panini poulet, and half bowl of chili. The truffle burger was overhyped on Yelp. It was good, but not that good. I'm also not a fan of mushrooms but I still wanted try it. The bun and patty overpowered the mushroom flavor, if the mushrooms had any flavor at. I actually thought the panini poulet was better than the truffle burger, flavor wise. It was sweet and not spicy (I can't handle spicy foods). I've been seeing a lot about Freesoulcaffee on yelp, and I decided to recommend it as a place for my friends and I to our senior breakfast. I've known that Old Town Tustin itself can be a bit of a snore, but when we passed by Freesoulcaffee, I was already impressed. There was a cute water fountain outside the cafe, surrounded by equally cute tables and chairs. On the side, there was a pitcher filled with orange slices and water, among other things. The inside of Freesoulcaffee was perfect. I loved everything about the ambience. How the desserts were presented in the display case. The flowers at the ends of the window seats. The intimate setting. Even the metal placemarkers! I decided to give the Peanut Butter Torte and the Spanish Hot Chocolate a go, since they were the items most raved about on Yelp. As much as I love this establishment, I have to give a thumbs down to both the Peanut Butter Torte and the Spanish Hot Chocolate. They were both ALL HYPE. Basically a waste of my eight dollars. The Peanut Butter Torte was too much, and it just tasted like a big ol' Reese's Pieces. The Spanish Hot Chocolate, simply put, was unimpressive. So I was horribly disappointed with my food, right? Not exactly. This all changed when I tasted some of my friend's Cream of Baby Portobello soup. And then I fell in love. Definitely one of the best if not THE best mushroom-based soup I've ever, ever, EVER had. It was SO delicious, and the bread that came with the soup was all too perfect. It's very generous, so make sure you have a friend to split it with! Without a doubt, I would go back to Freesoulcaffee JUST for that soup. It was SO damn good, I still yearn for it. Moral of this cafe? Don't get any of the sweets unless you are REALLY craving something sweet. Definitely go here for lunch. They have an amazing selection of delicious soups and sandwiches, and the ambience is to die for. Formally a coffee bar and purveyor of vegan baked goods, Freesoul is now a salad, soup, sandwich and pizza vegan restaurant. The food here is delicious and the service is great. This place is AMAZING! I didn't get to eat there personally but I did get take-out. The food is amazing and the desserts are out of this world! I got the caprese panini and sadly didn't take a picture of it because I was too excited to eat it. I did take a picture of both the Oreo dessert along with the peanut butter dessert... oh my goodness. The peanut butter one, so creamy, so delicious. I've never had such an amazing plant-based, vegan dessert!! It was incredible!! When I took that first bite, it just melted in my mouth right away and left me feeling a little nostalgic. My forever favorite vegan restaurant. Been coming here for 2 years and I'm moving out of OC so I'm going to be missing this place so much. The food is unique and very high quality. The staff is polite and friendly. It's a well-designed and well-taken care of restaurant too. Their Spaghettini is a GAME CHANGER. This is my dinner dish. I dream about it lol. It is everything I could ever want in a cheezy, savory spaghetti dish. You can get it with GF pasta too. I took my non-vegan best friend here and she sat in silence and bewilderment over how good the Truffle Burger was and she couldn't even believe it was vegan! My boyfriend always orders the truffle burger and any of the pizzas. I also routinely buy their Buckwheat Pancakes. They are SO FLUFFY AND FILLING. It's a magical experience. I finished my meal wanting seconds. Everything i ate made me feel light so i dont feel too full or have food coma after. Truffle burger: the rich taste of truffle was perfection! I want to dip all my food in this sauce. What could have made the burger the best burger ever is if there was a little bit of crunchy texture Smoked ham sandwich: light and refreshing. The cucumbers in the sandwich made me love the sandwich more. Taste like im eating a real ham sandwich. Second time here and their sandwiches and burgers hasn't disappointed yet. I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 11:30am. There wasn't a wait so we got seated immediately. It was a bit chilly so we opted for a table inside. I wanted to try their breakfast/brunch menu but found out it's only available until 11am so we chose from the lunch menu. We ordered the HATCH BURGER and the HAM AND EGGS. I also ordered a matcha latte, which was delicious!! The burger was delicious, it's probably something I'd order again. The Ham and Eggs? Not so much...maybe it was a bit too healthy for me?
