Want to know why the big auto dealers are failing and all the internet auto companies are blowing them out of the water? Just walk into Steven's Creek Chevrolet to find out! Just bad service, zero transparency and the same "blood in the water shark feeding frenzy" style of sales tactics, tripping over each other to get you to pick them, but without any level of customer service at all. Scenario: They have a used Chevy Bolt I wanted to see. I Fill out their form online, within an hour I had 2 different salespeople calling me and a 3rd sending me an email, all by 9am, cool. I tell them I want to see the car, sit in it and drive it and made an appointment for 3:45 that same day. I was told "ok, I will bring the car up front by 3:30, see you then". I get there at 3:45, parking is beyond crazy with their seemingly overflowing inventory of cars with zero customers around and no salespeople that I see, I also don't see the car anywhere. I wander around for about 10 minutes, then go inside. I get a "hi, can we help you?" and I say "yes, I spoke to Adam, is he here?" and Adam pops up and says "Chevy Bolt?" and I say "yep, thats me" so he says he will bring it right up front (but I thought you said it would be up front at 3:30?). So I stand inside for about 5 minutes, I feel dumb looking at the same 2 corvettes and T-bird so I go outside and lean against a pole. 5 minutes later, Adam comes from inside and tells me "the car is back here, and the screen is broken but it's on the charger" and I really thought he meant "windscreen", as in windshield, so I ask "windshield is broken?" and he says "no, the main screen is broken, the tech is replacing the module so it should be fine but he left for the day and the keys are locked in his toolbox" so I walk up to the car, try the doors and say "so it's locked and I can't get into it even?" and he says "no..." and then goes on to offer to bring it to my house (I live an hour away) or to my work (I work 15 minutes away) and at that point I am wondering how 6 hours pass from the time they started blowing up my phone and email and yet not one single person can let me know the car isn't even drivable before I get there for the test drive appointment. I am so very frustrated and can't say I got the warm & fuzzy feeling from any of this and say "broken screen, you guys had 6 hours to let me know about that and I can't even sit in it, I am good here, pass" and leave. That night, I make an online appointment for the following day to see another Chevy Bolt in Daly City at a used car shop. I get there, the car is up front, looks amazing, the guy is friendly, lets me and the hubby check it out by ourselves, then gives us keys, we take it for a spin and we walked out an hour later with a kickass car and a $27K sale was made. I came in for a scheduled oil change at 8:00 AM and was informed I was due for the 90,000-mile service. The service was quoted at $3,000, and I agreed to it with the understanding that my truck would be ready by the afternoon. However, I received no updates at all from my service rep throughout the day. I had to call myself at 4:45 PM to check on the status. I was told someone would call me back within 20 minutes to confirm the pickup time. That call never came. When I expressed that I needed a specific time to arrange transportation, I was told the vehicle would be ready by around 5:45 PM. I paid for an Uber to get there and waited at the lot -- only to watch the store close while my truck was still nowhere to be seen. It wasn't brought out until after 6:20 PM. This experience was extremely frustrating. The lack of communication, missed expectations, and poor follow-through were unacceptable -- especially for a service costing $3,000. I hope you seriously address the communication breakdown so future customers don't go through the same thing. read more

I made the mistake of following the recommendation of the dealership in So-cal where I purchased my Chevy EV to take it to a local dealership following my accident. I will never do business with Stevens Creek Chevrolet again. It is the worst experience I have ever had. When I had the car dropped off, I called and arranged for the dealership to use a body-shop they work with to get the body parts ordered and prepped while the mechanical work was getting done, and to try to shorten the time I would be without the car, as this is my daily commuter car. The dealership took over two months to just do the mechanical repairs. I never got unsolicited updates on the progress of the repairs. When they finally, after two months, told me my car was ready, they asked me what body-shop I wanted it moved to, as if we never had the conversation regarding having them work with their body-shop. I should have listened to the insurance guy that warned me against using them. At this point I decided to take the insurance guy's recommendation and had the car moved to one of the insurance company's recommended body shops. The body shop discovered that a major electrical part was still damaged and needed to be replaced. This was a long lead-time part and delayed the repairs further. The body shop had to send it to a different dealership to get that major part replaced. Stevens Creek Chevrolet, by missing the major part being damaged, caused the whole repairs to take over three months. When I took my car to Stevens Creek Chevrolet, they said they offered loaner cars. But, when my rental car allowance from the insurance company ran out after 30 days, I was told all their loaners were taken. The last week before the car was supposed to be ready, I was able to borrow a loaner for a few days, but had to return it once the car was transferred to the body shop, leaving me without a car for the remainder of the repairs. This ordeal have cost me about $4500 on top of the deductible for rental cars, uber rides etc. Stay away, stay far away. read more

He looked it up and the vehicle arrived that same day. I made an appointment to check out the car at 4 o'clock PM. Sadly Billy had to go deliver a car so he wasn't going to be there. Billy told me to speak to Ramon. We finally get to meet Billy and thank him. Came early talk to Ramon and he showed us the car. After that we went inside to do the paper work. Ramon did a excellent job helping us fill out all the documents before heading to the financial guy. Lastly I want to thank Phil for helping us with all the other documents. Terrible car service. I was promissed 1-2 days depending on part availability and shipment. It took them 5 full days just to open the door to diagnose a broken part they could see right away. After ordering the part and receiving it, the installation was done fine under the warranty. The shuttle service is also a joke. I put my name in the list 8:40am. I was picked up at 11:30am. Went in for an unrelated issue a loose radiator hose. They recommended a ton of work on my sonic that I didn't really need. Went to my personal mechanic told me to change the valve cover gasket that's it and he said that wasn't even necessarily urgent. He said they were trying to upsell me. The point of this review isn't to discourage anyone from buying a car from this dealership, but just to recommend additional caution. Earlier this month, we put a deposit down with Stevens Creek Chevy on an Equinox EV that they had in transit. We wrote every few days for updates on the timetable (we were really excited), and set up childcare for the day it was due to come in. And then, when the car arrived, they sold it to someone else, without contacting us at all. Not only that, but to cover it up, they added a different car to our reservation, with a different VIN, due to come in several weeks later, and told us there had been a "delay." We only found out the real story by calling GM's corporate office and having them look up the original VIN. When we confronted Stevens Creek Chevy with this, they denied it at first, and then when we made them look up the original VIN, they admitted that our car had indeed been sold out from under us and they were very apologetic. But they weren't willing to do anything to make it right other than have us wait for the new car to come in. We felt that they should have given us a higher trim Equinox for the price of the base trim, or at least at a discount, since they did have some of those in stock, but Pat, the manager, refused. While he apologized many times for the original mistake, his stance, as he repeatedly made clear, was that the cars would sell whether we walked or not, and therefore there was no reason for him to give us any discount. Despite our rotten experience, I do have to concede that Stevens Creek has the best selection of EVs of any Chevy Dealership in a 200 mile radius of the Bay Area and probably further out than that. And if they have what you want, by all means get it! Just use caution - don't take what they tell you at face value, and if you reserve a car, make it crystal clear that you will only accept the car you reserved, and if they sell it to someone else or mess with your reservation, you're walking. read more

I lost a key fob for a 2026 Silverado EV. Bought an exact replacement online only to find that only the dealer can program it. Beginnings of my tale of woe. Made an appointment to get it programmed. It's worth pointing out that I am a repeat customer, they know my address. I live 45 minutes away in the Santa Cruz mountains. I arrive a little early, wait around, finally get to talk to someone and their internet is down and they can't program without it. Welp, reschedule for the next day. 1.5 hours wasted so far. They could have called me and saved me that 1.5 hour drive. Get there today, same delay trying to talk to someone. Seems like a pattern. They take the truck and tell me it will be an hour. To program a key fob? Really? I look at the paper work and it says 2 hours. Really? Whatever, I wait the two hours. No truck. Another 15 minutes, no truck. Another 15 minutes, no truck. Another 15 minutes, finally a truck. 2 hours and 44 minutes to program a key fob. To add insult to injury they charged me $300 to program the fob. All in all, 1.5 hour round trip for nothing, 1.5 hour round trip again, 2.75 hours to program the fob. 5.75 hours and $300. Does anyone think that is OK in any way? To explain why I'm so pissed, it would help to know I'm a computer engineer, hardware and software. I know what they need to do, I gave them a programmed fob and a blank one. They needed to read the info off the programmed one and flash it on the blank one. It's likely some SRAM or some sort of tiny SSD they have to write. Reading one should take seconds, writing the other one should take seconds. _Maybe_ they have some really stupid non volatile ram that takes forever to write but there is zero chance that it takes more than a minute or two. I will never go back to this dealer, you couldn't pay me enough. Horrible experience. Go somewhere else. Edit: yes, I see the response from the dealer. Doesn't change anything. All you have to do is look at the other one star reviews, I'm not the first unhappy customer. Instead of responding to reviews, how about you do a better job running the dealership? read more

This is in regard to the service department. I brought my Buick Encore in for its 15,000 miles oil change service. I bought it at their sister dealership in Dublin, CA. Apparently the service maintenance package covers practically nothing this time around, I bought one five years earlier. I'm being charged $10+ labor for windshield washer fluid! Yes, they are serious! It's not included in the standard maintenance package, just oil and tire rotation. I'm not kidding! They are just criminals! I cannot recommend this service location, nor the dealership I made this purchase from. Though I am stuck with a pathetic maintenance package for 3 and 1/2 more years. Whether my maintenance package was purchased directly with this dealership or its sister dealership, they are the same company. Therefore the guilt of one is the guilt of both entities. I have been having my automobiles serviced for nearly forty years now, topping off fluids were always included in the standard oil change package. By the time we picked up our car this afternoon, the additional charge was removed. Thank you! read more

I had an oil change appointment on Tuesday (Aug 5) morning and went to drop my car off at Noon on Monday. The advisor told me that my car may be done by 5 p.m. on Monday. I did not get any confirmation about my car being done until 4:45 p.m., or clarity on whether I can pick up my car. I had already paid using my Chevy points. I requested that the dealership charge my car overnight I went to pick up on Tuesday at 7 am. 1. I was asked to pay (which ended up in a double payment) 2. The Oil life still showed 8% on my dash 3. The tire pressure was still showing random low 30's like it was The car was not charged. The advisor said, "I am sure the oil was changed. Let me go back and check, and I will take care of tire pressure." Seven minutes later, I got the car back, with tires showing 37 psi and oil life at 100%. My duplicate payment was also reversed. I think it was complete fraud. They never work on the car and just take payment. read more

Terrible car service. I gave in my car for service on Feb 18th - Wednesday. I was told that parts would have to be ordered and would only arrive around the 25th so I paid for my inital service (oil change etc) and took my car back on Friday the Feb 20th. After repeatedly pinging them I was told my parts had arrived so I dropped back the car on Feb 25th. I was told that leaving my car was the only way to not lose my line in place and it would take a week to repair. I ping back today on March 9th and it has not even been scheduled yet. Apparently there is an acute shorage of EV technicians, acute shortage of loaner vehicles and long wait times. This place has severe operational problems in the backend. Other dealers have the technicians ready but these parts would have to be moved. To be fair the sales guy pointed out that these parts are under warranty and so covered. read more

I bought a 2015 Chevy Silverado that I was guaranteed had gone through a full pre sale inspection and had no major issues. Within two months upon my first my oil change in told the shocks need immediate replacement and the upper control arm bearings are completely worn. I escalate it to upper management MO who tells me to bring in the truck to see what he can do. And proceeds to keep it in service for a whole day and a half just for me to have to call for an update and he says that there's nothing there gonna do as I bought it as is. My husband and I purchased a 2021 Chevy Silverado 2 weeks ago and purchased the extended warranty. After bringing the vehicle home, we happened to drive the vehicle over the weekend for the first time with the windows down and could here a pinging noise coming from the under the truck. I immediately scheduled an appt with my local Chevrolet Dealership in my town to diagnosis the truck since i live over an 90 min away from you. My local dealership determined pre-existing damage (never disclosed in our purchase) from the rear wheel area and found the brake bracket bent, bracket bolts loose, not torqued to spec, axle housing is bent and deems the truck unsafe to drive. I have been calling your dealership now for 2 days. We have left word with Miguel, Moe etc. No calls or action from you to proceed with addressing this matter. Not sure how this truck would have went through your inspections or even passed to be placed on your lot for sale if it was not safe to drive, potentially placing our lives in harms way. My local dealership is waiting on you to schedule a tow and come get this truck. Someone needs to contact me or my husband and stop giving us the run around before I contact an attorney. update: First, I'd like to address the comment concerning our possession of the truck and the potential for the incident to have occurred under our care. This perspective appears somewhat one-dimensional and completely un-customer focused. I am an honest consumer and an honorable one. If "we" did something to our vehicle, I would own it and not try to pass this off onto you. Photographs were sent yesterday and its ironic that I can post a Yelp review and receive an immediate response, whereas my phone calls, emails etc for everything you asked for yesterday and through 9am this morning are still unanswered and a truck still sitting at another dealership and they want it off the lot.
