This is definitely a must have. Ever since I went in last week to try a coffee I have returned everyday. I don't go out for anything that isn't essential right now because of the virus situation and I have to say this coffee is essential for me. I have tried about half of their coffees that have espresso shots. Le rouge- white chocolate with raspberry and milk (my all time favorite) Le praline- hazelnut with caramel and milk (this is my runner up) Le bon bon- double americano with condensed milk ( this is good but very strong, if you are a fan of a really strong coffee this one is for you) Le Nutella- Nutella spread and milk They offer 2 sizes, 12oz $5 and 16oz $6. They also have a rewards program so I suggest signing up to get your rewards because once you try it you will be going back for more. I've also tried 2 of their crepes- Breakfast crepe- ham, egg and cheese it's delicious and what you would expect, great portion and price was $11 I believe. I don't remember the name of the second one but it had turkey, aged cheddar, arugula and pesto. Super delicious, their pesto has an addicting flavor, I highly recommend any of the crepes. They seem to be very popular and I enjoyed them myself. Right now because of the virus you can stop in and take your order to go, there is street parking in the front and on the side of the building. It's a cute, tiny little French cafe! The menu is on these black chalkboards in red and white chalk pen. The menu was very authentic, I worked in food service for two years and learn about French cuisine and techniques, so I can confirm. Everything looks so good and fresh! If you like coffee, they have many many options for you. French food is definitely not low-carb but a nice little treat no less. Given the time, I wasn't going to try their crepes in the later afternoon. I got their Lorraine quiche and it was exquisite! The texture and flavors were great, it started off with this very fresh milk/creme flavor which was sweet and ended with a nice punch of black pepper and ham savoriness that was wonderful. I couldn't resist not getting a patisserie. I got a beautiful fruit tart, as pictured below. It was gorgeous! Perfect Instagram food, the berries were peak perfect and it was sweet but not too sweet so perfect in my book. Last but not least about this tart was the crust....omg it was amazing, that buttery flakiness but also I got the nutty after taste... it tastes like they use almonds or almond extract in the crust and it makes it. The only reason why this is two stars instead of one is because every other time I have come here it's been great food. The correct order and the staff have been nice. This time was a complete 180. I waited around 30 minutes for food that was incorrect and was sloppy and hap hazard. I ordered a small black coffee and a veggie breakfast crepe (my usual). Normally it's great and walked out by the gentleman who is cooking and wearing the red Chef attire and he's always so pleasant. This time I was handed a veggie breakfast sandwich I didn't order and paid for more and still waited the full time. Upon opening the sandwich I saw a hodge podge of eggs, avocado sloppily shoved in and soggy bread. Thanks this is great. Totally not what I ordered or wanted. Didn't come with the greens my crepe would have come with and was honestly gross. When I told them that's not what I ordered, the girl making the crepes had been previously complaining about needing people to go on break and that she left at 1pm and that she could get to mine after she finished the crepes she was currently making. I understand you are busy but come on guys. Not ok. Long wait AND the wrong food that was pretty sub par. Just bad all around. Not to mention, attitude when told its wrong. Not sure if we'll be back. Great Crepes and Good Coffee! Giving the Customer respect? Horrible! Just to clarify, this store is located at 100 Carlsbad Blvd on the corner of Beech Ave in Carlsbad. While in line waiting to order, I saw a family of 5 leave because of the way they were treated by the staff. The father was very upset. Then a nice older gentleman was asked to leave because he stayed too long after eating. I was asked to leave while I was on actually still on my phone and did not order immediately when approached. Sorry for the long phone call and taking up space in an empty business. There were unoccupied seats everywhere. Who would do this to customers? And young girl did it so easily like she has been doing this forever. All within 40 minutes. Not a good way to enter the customer service world little girl. This is not the way that a prosperous business is run (in the US). No wonder "The French Corner" Crepes and Coffee had few people on a Sunday while all other fooderies on the same block were thriving. Horrible policy! I hope you change. Came for coffee only but the service was fast and friendly and coffee was solid. Got a double espresso. Paid $3.25. Likes the crema on top. Great bold and tart flavor with citrus notes. I also enjoy supporting little mom and pop shop. Overheard (maybe the owners) French so it seems like it's run by a French speaking family. Plan on coming back when I feel like having dessert. They also offer quiches and sandwiches but I didn't feel like trying any. Their dessert case also wasn't full when I came in during lunch hour. It would be a good idea for them to fill it up since this area is mainly businesses and people come to the plaza for lunch. Tiny space but they tried their best to open it up by pushing the counter and display cases as close to the walls as possible. Liked that you could see the baker making fresh croissants. The bottom line: Scrumptious French cuisine at an affordable price! What to get: I was in a sandwich mood and so I went with La Parma and don't regret a thing about it. The prosciutto wasn't too salty, the pesto was very mellow and flavorful at the same time, and the bread was perfect. It had a perfect crunch but soft on the inside so it was easy to chew. I also got a mini chocolate soufflé for dessert! It was very sweet but in all the right ways. You can tell their chocolate is high quality and very tasty down to the last little morsel. The raspberry on top was a nice touch too - it brought balance to the Force! What to avoid: Don't expect them to be open late! The customer service has very little good review to offer unfortunately. The cream puffs had a weird aftertaste and the Napoleon was not a French Napoleon. The custard cream that was between the layers that looked thick not thin and Flaky, was I don't know what to say almost a yellow green color it was not real custard looking, it looked fake I would not spend another penny at this restaurant. Stay away!!! This place absolutely rates a negative review for many reasons, but I will only address a few. First, the female owner (Alexandria or Alex) is extremely rude, unprofessional, and possibly racist. My family and I walked into the French Corner upbeat and ready to try this place out and the overall customer service was absolutely horrible. Maybe we could have received some decent service if my skin was lighter, but it was extremely difficult for my children to be exposed to this level of disregard to provide us with basic service. Apparently, the majority of all the pastries were unavailable and we could not even purchase cups of coffee about 20 minutes before closing. I never expected an owner to turn her back and walk away on customers while they are still trying to place an order or figure out what items are available to be purchased. Dishonest and very poor customer service. I was ordering their breakfast special today - 2 eggs with potatoes and bread. I asked the girl at the counter if they make poached eggs. Without hesitation she said yes. I paid ($17 - they do not list any prices in the store - so they can charge anything really). After waiting for my food, I was brought eggs over easy - not what I ordered. I said that I asked for poached eggs - to that I was told they don't make poached eggs. The girl who previously assured me that they do said she didn't know. I asked for my money back. She said they don't give refunds. I asked multiple times - she insisted there will be no refund even though it was her fault that I got charged for an item they don't even make. I asked for a replacement with alternative food item. Everything on the menu is amazing, hopefully the owner figures out the operations. I think the barista was stoned out her mind, it took her forever to make any coffee drinks. While moving in slow motion, she would pause and double check the order after each step of the process. It was a bummer to see all the waiting coffee customer furious because it took 20 minutes to process the simplest of orders. One of the reasons things took so long is because even though the stoned barista checked each order 100 times, she still got it wrong so several people were complaining about their messed up orders. I would like to share our experience with the owner of the French Corner, Alexandra. We were hosting a bridal shower for my daughter. I sent my son in law to pick up the food at the French Corner. We had asked for the food to be ready by 9:00 AM. When my son in law arrived at 9:00, he was told by Alexandra he will not be picking up anything before 11:00. Bobby (my son in law) told her he had the invoice which stated a 9:00 pick up time. Alexandra then proceeded to tell him my daughter had changed the time, which is not true. She told him it is not her fault that he and his wife don't communicate. Another employee walked up and told Alexandra that the paperwork did say 9:00. She was very rude to me and her employees. He was told to wait on the side for the order. She walked up and asked if he thought hovering would get the food any quicker. Bobby stated we were spending 600.00 and just wanted the food.
