2.5 stars. I've been here twice and I will only go back on an early weekday. My first visit was great. I went in on a Tuesday around 10:30am. I had two ladies take care of me. I went in for gel mani pedi. Pedi lasted 3.3 weeks. Gel builder mani only 6 days. My visit today was on a Friday and I walked in around 2pm. I didn't walk out of there until 5:30pm. I went in for a gel pedi and manicure. Gel pedi service was great. But the top coat on the gel color made it darker and you can see where she didn't apply top coat. One foot was a whole shade darker. She corrected the darker shade by applying a third coat and then reapplying top coat. She mentioned something about the light in there and looked up. I also had her correct where she applied gel over the cuticle. At home the top coat and nail polish under look like two shades on my toes. I'm unhappy. Now my manicure was a complete mess. She applied one coat and quickly applied a second coat and then bam quick to top coat. I should mention a women came out in and tapped her shoulder that she'll wait for her. This happened when she was wrapping up on my toes. I believe this is the reason she rushed my mani and didn't wait for coats to dry in between. I sat there with my nails in front of a fan for about 30-45 minutes. My left index and left pinky were so thick in polish they didn't dry in this time. I had her correct and she said I should've gotten gel. Gel is forgiving and quick to dry. I understand why she said this but that's not what I wanted. They had people waiting and chairs were full. This place values quantity over quality. I was expecting the great service and great quality that received my first time.

I rarely get my nails done, I would just paint them myself at home. Since it was my birthday I felt I'll treat myself. This place was nearby so I decided to try. Right off the bat, didn't seem the best choice. They left my nails uncured. They tried multiple times to cure my hands, and the nail polish stayed wet; They said that that's why they didn't want me to use that color and that they kept asking to see if I'd change my mind- they didn't say this until after. It wasn't until a week later did I realize my toes had a layer of gunk that was wet polish. Design was okay, but overall bad experience. Ive been having such a hard time finding a good nail spa.

This was my go-to nail salon since 10 years ago and was a loyal customer for three years. I moved around and now moved back to Long Beach, to come to my home nail salon just to be left disappointed. I came in for Mani & Pedi and was assigned to Kelly. She was heavy handed with the nail file and the cuticle tool and she not gentle, felt like she was rushing. I said "ouch" several times after the electric buffer hit my nail beds and being poked by the cuticle tool, but she still did not adjust herself, nor apologized. Very unprofessional. I was there for three hours. I waited for 30min. The video I'm posting shows uneven nail shape, uneven coating and disappointed to see bubbles in my coating. This place used to have talented ladies but I'm sad to see the quality of their service become like this.

I've been coming here for years and love how they take care of my feet when I get gel pedicures. I rarely get manicures. But I got my manicure done for my birthday trip and Sandy took such good care of me. She slayed my nails. They came out SO pretty!! Every time I come, they're so attentive! Thank you Sandy! DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON!!!! I went in for a full set of nails and spa pedicure a few days ago. I was excited because it had been a full year since I was able to pamper myself in this way during the pandemic. I was looking for a regular place to frequent now living close by to this location. I appreciate that they opened at 9am. My son just started school this week and classes would be over at 10:30 in Signal Hill/Long Beach. They took me in right away and promised I could get both services within that hour and half. I was amazed at how many times the nail tech nicked my skin, literally breaking the skin with her drill. I mentioned to her that the drilling was painful. She attempted to manipulate me into believing that I caused her to drill too hard because I was moving around. Not the case at all, she seemed agitated when I told her that I was not moving around and she needed to be more gentle. She then proceeded to take off her mask and left it off for the last 10 minutes of my stay. I asked for a short coffin style, but she gave me a straight square box style. Ok so be it. I needed to pick up my som. After paying $99 for both services, I ran to my car to get a cash tip, as she said their debit card machine didn't give room for a tip. I gave her an additional $20 to split between her and pedicure lady. It wasn't until later in the day I realized how poor this job was. My fingers started to bleed and didn't stop. I've been in nonstop pain every since now for 5 days. I also realized my feet are literary peeling and broken. The guy in the pedicure chair next to me paid for the same service I got, yet he received treatments that I did not. I think they assumed they could give poor service to the little Black girl. But I'm my half a century of living (I look younger and the tech was surprised by my age) I've never been in pain while getting my nails done, I've never bled for days afterward, I've never had my feet in such poor condition, and I've never paid such a high price, (I took every upcharge service she offered), while receiving such horrible service. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN, and won't allow anyone I know to go to them. Terrible experience and I will post this with attached pics in every place I can find. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! Me and my friend had such a bad experience here! I called and asked if we can come in for a gel pedicure and manicure and the lady said to come in they weren't busy. Once we get there they Had us waiting for over an hour. She noticed we were getting frustrated so she told us to sit on the chair to get the pedicure started and still waited for 30 mins. We Will not be back. Dont recommend read more

I went here to get my nails done after not being able to get my nails done for a while. After a week I had a nail pop off, so I went back to get it fixed. The lady was rude and I waited a while to get one nail fixed. Then I'm told that I was lying and it has been two weeks since I got my nails done. I paid a lot of money a week ago and I showed the lady who fixed my nail my statement. I was very upset. Since then, two more nails have popped off. I am very unhappy with my service I received and the money I spent. Please find another nail salon who treats customers with respect for their time. read more

It was my 1st time at French Nails. I had a great experience. The salon is spacious & decorated nicely. I felt comfortable when I walked in. I was greeted with kind smiles. Hannah, Amy & Sandy were funny & super nice. Hannah did a great job giving me the design I showed her a picture of. My nails are super cute! My 1st visit was quite pricey$$$ though. That's usually a turn off for me. I will go again for nails only next time. And so far, I'd recommend French Nails. They've been there for 20years! read more

I went and got my nails done by Christine Tran and she is so good! She tells me to soak my hands in soap and hot water before she trims the cuticles! After that part is done she puts on base coat and my beautiful #13 nail color (two coats)! My nails come out great! Jennifer trims my cuticles on my toes and she trims the toenails and they come out great! She also shaves off the callouses on my feet and massages my legs!! read more

I should have looked at the reviews before I got my nails done here, I was in a hurry and desperate. But please do not go here. I don't mind to admit that to me getting a mani/pedi is a luxury, I have a budget and I know how much I want to spend. I don't think it's kind much less professional to make someone feel like crap just because they won't add on any services. They begun to speak in their language literally every time I said no to something. They were fighting with each other to the point where one of them was CRYING, literally yelling at each other! Imagine how unprofessional and uncomfortable?! Not one apology. The manicure is so bad and ugly I'm attaching pics so you can see. I truly feel I deserve a refund for my manicure. Hideous. read more

To start, for now my nails look fine. I went in for a fill and pedicure right at 9am. I'm only leaving a review because I'm a very chill person, I sit in my chair and watch my shows but today was not relaxing nor professional. I got asked 5 times if I wanted gel on my toes. My answer was no every time. Then she said "I'm putting gel because it's better" and I was like No! Thankfully she finally got the hint. The second part that was frustrating is I always check if a nail place takes card and I always bring cash for tip. This nail location does take care. However, She kept pushing me to use the ATM and pull out cash. And I was like. I have a debit card, can I not use that? And she was like "ATM machine is better" and I was like I brought cash for your tip, don't worry. Despite that she kept pushing. Like the reviews below. I did get burned a few times by the machines. I also got judged for how calloused my feet were several times. She just kept showing me the towel with the dead skin (I'm sorry for being an athlete?) I needed my nails done badly. Glad they are done. But I won't be back. read more

My mother, sister and I have been coming to this place for a LONG time. I've recommended so many people here. Unfortunately the quality in work and customer service has gone out the window. I go to the nail shop to get my nails done and spend some ME time to "relax". BUT since this place has been allowed to open back up it has been far from a relaxing environment. If it's not a client complaining it's the staff arguing. One day I walked into the owner telling everyone to SHUT UP. Quality wise my nails used to last me at LEAST 2 weeks. The last time I had my nails done Tina did them she's NEVER done my nails personally. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt. BIG mistake she cut me on EVERY finger while drilling my cuticles (relaxing right!?). Then the lady doing my toes didn't know how to do what I was asking for so Tina had to step in and help. The lady doing my toes said she was done so I checked my toes. She left white gel all on my cuticles and skin. So I asked her to fix it. I had to constantly watch them and nitpick how I wanted my nails and toes done just to make sure they came out decent. This actually embarrassed me because people started to watch me as I had to watch the people I'm paying to do a proper service. I wanted a simple Gel pedicure and gel full set both solid colors so I DON'T understand why it was this complicated. FINALLY "finished" and they hassled me about payment like I've never been here before. I honestly think they thought I was going to walk out from the crappy experience. BUT I paid them $100 still tipped them. I got to my car and had to pull my nails file out to fix my $100 nails because they looked like an amateur had just done them. I had a BAD feeling. 1 week later my nails all lifted all popped right off. NOW I'm in need of a new nail shop. read more

I've been coming here for so long but today, my boyfriend and I went and all was going well until they started speaking what seemed nervously in their language. I saw one of them look down and when I did I saw not 1 or 2, but several small roaches . They do great work but they need to call an exterminator or bomb the place with foggers.. Please hire an exterminator. To nice of a place to have this matter. read more

Absolutely in love with Sandys work. I showed her an inspo picture of how I wanted my nails with diamonds and she nailed it !!!! I've also went for a gel manicure with Kim and her nails were beautiful and clean I asked what color gel it was as it looked very glossy a soft white and just looked so clean and she said it's Polygel a new method. It's like hybrid of gel polish and acrylic powder on your nails. Kim is the only one that does Polygel thus far. read more

Very nice people but I had Dana doing my nails today and I asked for a Ombré but she started using a powder and flicking white on my nail to make it look like it a ombré but I did not love the outcome of how it looks. I didn't wanna say anything because she already started doing it so I just left but for next time I don't think I will be coming back here to do my nails. Paid 55 if anyone is wondering. read more

So I've been coming here since 2014 I had a bad experience and stopped coming for a while. Decided to give them another try and it was so awful. My nails were naturally very long she cut them so short and uneven without even asking me. None of my nails are the same shape and my polish has already chipped on 6 fingers. Even though I was there for my gf, that massage chair felt like I had an appointment. Quality: As a male I understand the need for my woman to look good. But what I don't understand is when it chips within a week. And it's constant money out for maintenance on nails ...... Not only did it last more than a few weeks, my gf approved and was shocked how it held. Lots of compliments at the wedding receptions and at work. It's a modest shop that deserves more customers. If it's packed in the little plaza ... Just park in the food 4 less parking lot. And walk over. Less maneuvering to get out of the plaza cause of heavy traffic.

Raymond is so kind and really cares about customer comfort and satisfaction, and Sunny is a very skilled nail tech. I really appreciate this salon's extensive collection of colors and polish finishes. Appointments are easy to book and the prices are fair for the current economy. Sometimes parking in the small lot is not possible, but there is also street parking and a larger parking lot (in the shopping center) not too far away. This is the first nail salon I've been to since moving to the Long Beach area and I feel no desire to try other salons as Redondo 7 is quite competent. Looking forward to getting a pedicure in the future so I can review that service as well!

They kept us past closing time, which is why we did not take the time to argue. Although, even two weeks later I look at my nails every day and I think..... my nails were not worth $110. The stars are smeared and it will never be worth $110. In the past, I've never paid more than $85 at this salon for gel-x (no take off) with a simple design. I even checked online to verify design minimum and maximum price ranges. At most, I should have paid $90. My friend got an acrylic fill with a design and she also feels like she over paid with how inconsistent the line work is and.. IT WAS A FILL. I've recommended lots of friends here in the past, but it seems like they are kind to you so they can secretly increase the price. My friends that ended up going here, shared with me they will not go back because the pricing isn't fair. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're comfortable paying $110 minimum for anything nail related. What would have been better is communicating and itemizing why a design is at a certain price point. From what I see online pricing, I should have paid: $65 new gel-x (no take off) + $15 cat-eye + $10 1-2 stars on 4 fingers = $90 Where did the extra $20 come from??? I get this economy is different now, but I tipped $15 too. If I'm paying $125 for nails, the design should have reflected that. AND JUST TO CLARIFY THE MANAGER'S RESPONSE: NO ONE PAID $99!!!!!!! This response is a representation of their lack of accountability. This was my experience and Yelp allows you voice out about that.

Customers should not have to pay for a design that was never completed successfully, regardless of the products used during the attempt. That said, I will give credit where it's due. The salon itself has a very friendly and elegant atmosphere, and the staff members were welcoming and provided good customer service overall. I had been coming here every 4-6 weeks for over a year for a dip nail gel manicure & gel pedicure until I had a bad experience a while back. Yvonne and Amy always teamed up and did a wonderful job, I was always very happy with their work. Until one day I came in and someone new did my nails. That evening one of my nails popped off so I went to get it repaired. The next day two more popped off so I went back in again. The third day another popped off so I went in. While it was being fixed, an older lady came over and practically yelled at me that I needed acrylic. I told her I don't like acrylic and the dip nail usually lasts a long time. She snapped back insisting I need acrylic if I want it to last. I told her I usually come every 4 weeks and one time I even went 6 weeks, the regrowth was so long we joked it could take a refill. She cut me off and said dip nails only last 2 weeks. I told her that it lasts until I come in and they take it off, that they never pop off, they are usually quite hard to remove without the tools. She argued back that they do not last that long, only 2 weeks. I reminded her two weeks is still a lot longer than one-three days, they have been popping off, nowhere near two weeks . She cut me off again and said "Talk to her!" pointing at the technician taking care of my nail, and walked away. Mind you, I wasn't rude or demanding, didn't request a refund or new set or anything, I was just minding my business getting my nail fixed when she walked up. I don't mind the bad manicure, but I won't tolerate the disrespect. I will not be back. Picture attached of a previous manicure I was happy with from my 30th birthday. Amy and Yvonne are great and I have had another person before, I think her name was Jennifer, she was wonderful too. So yeah... i went again and it was fabulous. I had someone do my nails and they turned out to be wonderful. Her name was Mai, i think. I told here I had a birthday party to go to that night and I was going to wear this purple dress that I got a few weeks ago. I told her I didn't know what to do that would make my nails compliment the dress, so she give me some advice. My nails looked amazing after. I got a full set with purple glitter at the bottom instead of the white powder that I usually got when I did my nails. She topped it with a white flower and a diamond. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. CUTE. I got a pedicure from jessica and since by that time, my nails were adready done, I wanted my toes to look just like my nails because I loved them so much. Her pedicure was very through and she was very talkative. She made me feel so relaxed. When she finished and only had to polish and design, I told her," I want my toes to match with my nails. She understood and then she covered half of my toes in purple glitter polish, diagnally. Then she finished it with a white flower and diamond just like my beautiful nails.It was amazing. I think I said amazing too many times now huh... :) Service was very nice. Mai and Jessica were very talkative and made my toes and nails look out-of-this-world. (lol) I made sure to sechedule another appointment with them, since i was so happy. I also got my eyebrows waxed by Sandy. She shaped them beautifully and I was amazed with all 3 employees. I have been coming here since they opened. I have even brought a few of my male friends here and they really enjoyed it, the staff here really made it a good experience for them. I admit in between coming here, I have been to other nail places, but I always keep coming back back because the staff, the sanitary cleanliness, and much more are a great thing that they have here at french nails. At one point I had lived an hour and twenty minutes away, never went to a nail place out there, on weekends I came to visit family not to far from French Nails, I always came here to get a manicure, pedicure, a facial, and eyebrow wax, usually not all on the same trip. I absolutely love this Nail Salon! I primarily go to Sandy but they all do amazing work. I leave happy each and every time. Sandy takes her time and makes sure that I get exactly what I want. I have used other places and literally came here after another salon messed my nails up so badly that the top 2 layers of my nails ripped off and that was just after a basic Gel paint job. Sandy is the Owner but makes you feel special the moment you walk in or call for a appointment. I don't always leave reviews on yelp for many places but I definitely make a exception for French Nail Salon! I came in to simply get my eyebrows waxed and the wait was 30 minutes. The lady who waxed my eyebrows was super aggressive. I've been here multiple times and I've never had anyone lift my eyebrows so harshly. While she was all in my face she was talking to her friend and her breath took a tour all in my nostrils. When she charged my card it said $10.00 and it was only supposed to be $8.00 I asked her and she said "oh this is my tip" and I was going to tip her with cash. I had a great experience at French Nails! I came in for a mani and pedi and left feeling super happy with the results. The staff did a great job--very professional, friendly, and detail-oriented. The salon is clean and welcoming, and I love that they have an on-site ATM that doesn't charge a ton in fees (such a plus!). However, about a year ago, I wanted to get my nails done to treat myself prior to a surgery, and I stopped in here without an appointment. Since then, they have become my go-to, as someone who only bothers to go every 4-6 weeks. I've walked in even on relatively busy days and haven't had to wait (it's like ladies just materialize!), their work is fine [for my purposes], they are reasonably-priced, they are very friendly, the vibe is very chill. A couple of notes - I don't get gel nails, just regular mani-pedis, so I can't speak to gel or acrylic experiences. I'll also say that at the more expensive salon, the polish seems to last longer (and I always bring my own color, so perhaps it's a difference in base/top and/or application). The higher end salon is also a little better at callous removal. But for the price and convenience, as someone who basically just goes to get "cleaned up" and not to impress anyone later, I don't have any real complaints. As has been mentioned, they accept credit for payment, but tips need to be in cash. I usually stop in unplanned and often find myself without cash, but fortunately, there's a credit union ATM steps away that solves the problem.

This is a mom and pop nail salon (or sister and sister as the case may be) that seems to focus on regulars and regular experiences: nothing out of the ordinary. The pedicure I received was fine (even though it was in a spa chair that I wasn't sure was cleaned particularly well before me) and the girl who worked on my feet was expeditious and kind, friendly and well-trained. However, the massage was more of a simple application of lotion, and I didn't really get the sense that she had much interest in me -- it was more about just kind of getting the job at hand done, and less about creating any kind of atmosphere or experience. Granted, and I try to be gentle here, since it's obvious that the shop doesn't go out of its way to present a chic, upscale presence - it's very quaint, and downhome, and for some, that's exactly what you're looking for. Me? I really need some more cleanliness (or at least a more vigorous, obvious attempt at it,) and a little more of an intro and description of the services available. After she was done with the tools she used, she just stuck them in a jar of barbicide, and that's just not really cutting it for me. There was no discussion about what kind of pedicure I wanted, even though I could see there were some fun jars full of salty-type scrubs on-hand, and she didn't ask if I'd been there before or how I'd come across it: all questions I'd certainly ask if I was interested in building a relationship with a new customer in the hopes that they would return. I think "unremarkable" is really how I'd describe this place above all else. Not much to take with me other than my pedicured toes. I do have to say too that their lotion is something orangy smelling and super strong. It was sticky sweet smelling and made me kind of nauseated from the sugary smell in the car. Mind you, I was the only walk-in at the time I showed up, with 2 people getting pedicures. I'm sure this spot has their regulars, but it's not a place for me. I came in for a new gel extension set and spent over 2 hours getting the run around and sitting at the table, while the only nail tech (that could do gel extensions) was tending to other customers in the middle of my session. She accepted two pedicures while I sat there waiting for her to finish my set, which resulted in her rushing through the process and applying my nails poorly - crooked nail, wrong sizes, nails not fully covered, in addition to lack of service. I wish I had said something in person or walked out, but I couldn't get myself to do it. I felt bad because while all this was happening, three girls walked in with an appointment and they had to wait until I was done (at least another 30 min). So to the person running this place, please do not say you can take an appointment when you clearly don't have the capacity.
