I went to this restaurant last night with friends. Although, the food was good, the service was terrible. We asked for separate checks. The waitress said ok. We ordered 3 appys. Also ordered wine and dinners. The service was terribly slow. It took forever. Coffee was luke warm. They made all kind of excuses, but we did not want to hear that. Then she came back to find out who had certain things on their check. She should have did this from the beginning. There are so many good restaurants around, don't need that kind of treatment. Our first time there. The food and service were great. We had Marissa and would request her again. The portions are huge and we definitely will keep that in mind the next time. My one complaint is that the tables are very close together and you can hear other tables conversations etc. Not very romantic but other than that. Had dinner with my Husband at the Cranston location. Ordered Calamari with the balsamic sauce for appetizer and it was the best we have had. It was fresh and tender. We had Chicken mel for dinner and tiramisu for dessert. Absolutely loved it!! Drinks excellent, atmosphere great, place beautiful, lighting perfect. Our Waitress was Felicia... Me and the family went for Easter Brunch. We checked-in and were seated promptly and a few minutes latter was asked to move to a table in the middle of an aisle because they needed to put two tables together and seat a large party. So we did. A few minutes later, they sat a party of 3 at the table we just moved from? Sigh... Buffet layout was weird and tight. The worst part of the Easter brunch though was the food. The absolute worst roast my family has ever had. Tough and overcooked, the roast pork dry and just not good. The sauce to add over the meats was near the pasta station. Who knew? Pizza was good. Three pasta's and three different sauces was barely warm. Just okay. The bottomless Bloody Mary was capped at 2 drinks. The waitress avoided us like the plague once 2 were given. Not going back for a long time, and definitely not for Easter. We've been going out for Easter Brunch at various places for 5 years and this solidified the fact that we just need to stay home and make our own delicious dinner. It will require more work, but will taste better and cost a lot less money. read more

This place has a very elegant yet casual atmosphere. One of the coolest elements is the sliding ladder on the wine shelf! We went for brunch on a Sunday. Place was empty, they did not have our reservation and we then waited for them to set a table. The food was ok. They did not seem prepared for a 10 am rush of people. There were only 3 parties including my party dining there. Food was running out of the buffet and they were very slow to replace and dessert was not ready. We felt rushed by our server who gave us the check after 30 minutes. No one was waiting so why push us along? The worst was the pastry chef brining out the box of cannoli shells plopping it on the counter and pipping the filling! Maybe they should stick to dinner and scrap brunch if you cannot execute it. I made reservations a month ahead of time for my son's confirmation party. We arrived 15 minutes early and they were out of prime rib, chicken and fish. They ultimately replenished the chicken and fish, after repeated requests. The staff told me "nobody told me we were out". We ordered wine and it took 20 minutes to arrive after 2 reminders. All the drinks ordered were late to arrive and we had to clear our own plates. I spoke to the owner and he told me that there were no guarantees that items advertised on the menu will be available. It was a ruined meal and I will never return. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Cranston. They have a mix of classic and Italian dishes, with always nice seafood. dinner specials vary and we tried the pork shank-excelled. I have never been disappointed in any of the entrees. They have an array of specials and my favorite is 1/2 price apps and buck a shuck on Friday's before 6:30. Drinks are good and the wait staff is very attentive. Our favorite is Isabella. Nice place for dinner whether you sit at the bar or enjoy a table. read more

I went there with a group of friends on thursday night, for dinner. The restaurant was clean and it looked really nice. We started off with complimentary bread with a delicious dipping sauce. I ordered the rabe with white bean and italian sausage pizza. It was a pretty good size portion and half price special. Though one of my friends had the scallops, it was $23.00 for 3 big scallops with potatoes. I thought the price was very high. Though he did say it tasted excellent. For dessert I had a chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. It was very moist and delicious. I'm going to have to try their brunch on Sundays, they said it's $15.95 for brunch. I found the entrees here a bit expensive, except for the pizza. The customer service here was excellent. Our waitress Lisa did a great job. read more

Had my daughter's baby shower (44 people) this past Saturday. Food was AMAZING as was the waitstaff (Izzie & Tom) and hostess Judi! The restaurant was all ours for the bunch which made the event feel intimate and cozy. VERY reasonably priced for a private event. Would highly recommend Fresco for a baby or bridal shower. This restaurant is close to home and very convenient for us so we wanted to like it. We ate there a few times when it first opened but the service was just awful (slow, arrogant, unresponsive). The food was always great, but it was just no fun dealing with the service staff. So we stopped going for about a year. We tried it a again a few months ago and the experience was much better. Now, we have been there about a half dozen times in the last couple of months and I can say the turn around in the quality of the service has been amazing. The food is better than ever, but the service now is just outstanding. Seated promptly. The server was friendly and informed. Arrogance is gone completely. Just a great experience. Fresco opened a new restaurant in Cranston! We have been loyal fans of the original Fresco in East Greenwich for years, their newest location is around the corner from our house. We stopped in this past Saturday of their soft opening weekend. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We started with delicous martini's from their list of handcrafted cocktails... I had the oceanspray, fresh basil with squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice & vodka served in a frozen glass (amazing!) My friend had the seniorita, a spicy mango margarita it was delicious! We took our servers recommendation and started with the Fresco bisque, with scallops & clams with potatoes. Next we had our favorite steak carbone (the signature dish from the original fresco) & the lobster frescotore. We couldn't tell that this restaurant had only been open for 1 day. Everything was delicious & served in a timely manner. I can't wait to go back! read more

Our first experience at the Cranston location was on Halloween but there was nothing scary about it lol. Have been to East Greenwich location many times and have never been disappointed. I don't know what just happened! I was so excited to eat here - suggested it to my boyfriend for date night since it had so many good reviews. Now I feel like I need to go buy him a burger somewhere, I feel so guilty. This place had such promise- the ambiance was nice, our waiter was great- we started off with the strawberry and spinach salad which was delicious! But then we ordered the seafood special and it went downhill- it looked great but it was so spicy, that I kid you not, I still cannot feel my lips! We ate about 1/3 of it and I started drinking more and more water. We couldn't finish it. So we basically had bread, salad, water and wine for $70+. Our waiter offered us dessert but we couldnt taste anything anymore so we passed. It's sad. Maybe it was just that particular meal. read more

My husband and I went to Fresco Too with five of our friends.Our party of seven was seated in a room for large parties. We had the room all to ourselves it was great. Three people in the group ordered a special that was a swordfish chop.Was the BEST Swordfish we ever had, all the food was outstanding! Diane was the Best she told us when we order our appetizers we should put our entrée in because everything is made to order and it will take about a half-hour to cook so we would not have to wait long for our food. Two stars for the service. Our waitress was awesome. The food...Not so much. The appetizers were 50/50. Had fried gnocchi. Really can't go wrong with that. Also ordered a "giant stuffed." It didn't even taste like a stuffie. Tasted more like french onion soup. Which is why my wife liked it even though she hates stuffed clams. Dinner was also 50/50 ish. The butternut squash raviolis were decent. Not the best, not the worse. The linguini and white clam sauce was probably the worse I've had. The broth had zero flavor. No chopped clams at all. All whole clams. That part might be a personal preference thing. The killer was these large slices of onions. There was a ton of them. There were so many, and sliced so thick, that they over powered the dish. I've tried this dish in many places in RI and this was the worse. With all of the other awesome restaurants in RI we will not be going back to Fresco. read more

Wanted to give this place a try after I have seen it advertised in the paper and heard that it was good from family. Went here on a Sunday to try their brunch, which apparently some have compared to 1149's brunch in its quality. To make this review short, I will just say that the place inside looks beautiful, but the food quality is deeply lacking here. Food not hot at all, right when the place opens? we tell them and they do nothing but say we are adding more food to the buffet so it should be hot? Nope, sorry it doesn't change the fact that I am dissatisfied. Basic breakfast here, nothing that fancy or appealing. Took coffee's off bill as was very strong coffee, unless you like that sort of thing. Mimosa's very good, but you can't really mess that one up. Basically, don't waste your time. Maybe brunch is not the way to go here? I don't know but because of it leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I will not be back. read more

Great brunch! The atmosphere is warm and clean, and the staff very personable. The brunch options included breakfast and lunch foods and came with a mimosa as part of the price. Coffee and tea are not included in the package but are readily accessible for a very reasonable price upon request. They don't have almond milk or soy milk currently, which is important to know for people with a dairy allergy; however, they have several gluten free options and indicate products with nuts for individuals with a food allergy. Parking is ample and it's a very easy location to access. Overall, a great brunch with a very reasonable price! read more

We had to be in cranston for an appointment so found this place by accident. We got to the restaurant right when it opened and were seated right away. The waiter was vacuuming the window sills but stopped when we walked in. He was telling the manager he wants to be sure he gets to all the windows. It was nice to see the waiter was making sure the place was clean. Now about the food, it was excellent. The person I was with had a 1/2 portion of the lasagna. The pasta was hand made and well More than 1/2 an order. I had the vegetable risotto and it was fresh. Our waiter was great until he gave us our food, then he was no where to be found. He was cleaning and setting up the bar area. While I think it is great the waiter is invested in the restaurant it would have been nice to be checked on a few times. When the waiter did come back we asked for boxes and the tiramisu. It was homemade and great! If it wasn't for the waiter this would have been a 5+ star rating and k place we will try again. read more

The food too forever to come out and was only mediocre once we did receive it. Also the bar and dining room have no separation which leaves ambience as less than desirable. It feels like you're eating less than adequate food in an old poorly decorated office building. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here. read more

We had a business dinner for 18 people on 2/24/16. We ordered from the Banquet Superior menu, which was priced at $35 per person and included their awesome wood grilled pizzas (two kinds), choice of two kinds of salad, choice of five entrees, coffee/tea. Everything was terrific; the service and the food. Everyone was raving about their entrée. Dessert was not included, but those who wanted dessert were served huge portions of house made tiramisu or chocolate layer cake, etc, etc. The servers were spot on the whole night and no one waited or wanted for anything. They were just the right amount of friendly and talkative without being intrusive. It was a lovely evening, and we would go there again without hesitation! read more

My wife and I went there for dinner Saturday night. Not a bad restaurant setting, looks like they took a vacant office in industrial plaza and modified it as need to make it restaurant. None the less, our food was good the problem was it took far too long. Our calamari and mixed green salad came out very quickly after ordering, about 7 minutes. Our entrees took about an hour to come out. This is no exaggerating, believe me, we kept checking the time. Our waitress wasn't very good. She'd come back occasionally to refill our water but at no point did give us an update on our meals, apologize for the delay, or even offer to refill our bread as they chased down the cow and reeled in the tuna that would be used to make my wife and I's entrees for the evening.Mind you, we were were seated at 10 minutes to 8. By 8:15 a lot of people had started clearing out so it wasn't as if they kitchen was overloaded with orders. Even if that was the case I would have been perfectly fine with our server just saying "hey, they're a little backed up in the kitchen, is there anything else I can get you?" Like I said, our food was good but I can't imagine going back because of how long we waited for it to come out. Not to mentioned, I asked for mashed potatoes instead of rice with the tuna. Of course when my plate arrived it had rice on it. Our server said, "I wrote it down but forgot to put it in the computer". Mistakes happen but for as long as we waited you'd think she would have made sure the plate was to order before bringing it over. If you're curious, go check it out. Your food may come out faster than our's did. The portion sizes looked very generous for some of the pasta dishes so if you've got a big appetite this could be right up your alley read more

Dropped in on a quiet Wednesday night. No more than a dozen other diners were there. The hostess seated us immediately and was very friendly. The decor is subdued and comfortable. The menu is perfectly acceptable, although not terribly original. My companion ordered the butternut squash Pasta dish, and I ordered the special of the evening, which was a salmon with almonds and sesame orange glaze with spinach risotto. Our appetizer was a tuna tower, which was very nice. It was both visually appealing and quite tasty. My salmon was overly sweet and the risotto was very gummy. My companions pasta dish was mediocre and went largely untouched. Our cocktails were wretched. Far too much sour mix in mine and a sangria that was overly sweetened for my friend. As good as the tuna tower was, I do not think we will be returning. I would recommend the East Greenwich location for a better meal and overall experience. read more
