This place sucks. Service is consistently awful. Food bad too. Today we walked out after being seated by a hostess who muttered our servers name and insincerely wished us a nice meal after dumping us. We then waited and waited and waited and no server appeared. They all seemed to be hanging out by the kitchen not doing much. Never going back. Only reason we went today was we were starving and no other breakfast place was open. I can see how families might like this place - good spot to bring the gang for some kid-friendly breakfast/lunch fare w/out worrying about making a mess. It's just not for me, that's all. Based on the crowds, though, I don't think they'll miss my business. So, based on the yelp reviews, my husband and I tried Fresco for breakfast one day. We weren't terribly impressed. The food was okay. The inside has a certain filth factor...now, mind you - I can handle a certain degree of filth if the food makes up for it. It didn't make up for it here. It wasn't terrible, but I don't think we'd race back. Wanting to give Fresco another try, I ordered the greek salad w/ grilled chicken (per another yelp review) to go for lunch one day. Definitely not the best greek salad I've ever had in my life. Nowhere near the best, actually. Here's what it included: shallow to-go carton with a bottom layer of iceberg lettuce, a couple cherry tomatoes (these were good), a few olives (again, good), 3-4 bad cucumber slices (I know - I hadn't experienced a bad cuke until today, but these were terrible - ruined the already bad salad, actually...they were dried out with a funny taste), 1 block of feta w/ oregano (good), and some warm (nuked) pita bread. Nothing special - nothing I'd order again. Again, there's always a crowd (typically families and/or teenagers), so they appeal to a certain audience. Just not for me. read more

Having lived in Needham at one point, I frequented Fresco for solo breakfasts. Always delicious, never disappointing. Prices are great, servers are friendly. While I no longer live nearby I still work in the area and drop in here for lunch with friends often. I stick with the breakfast foods, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but one particular friend is in love with the lentil soup. The one draw back to this place is when school is out, or has a half day. It's location, as well as low prices, make it attractive to the younger crowd. I've only had breakfast here (many times) but I have always been very satisfied. The service is always quick and friendly. The food is always cooked to order. Their omlets are only limited by your imagination. Great homefries, home made corned beef hash, and pancakes. I am usually there for a breakfast meeting and the waitresses don't get in your way but make sure you have coffee or water after your meal and don't rush you out. Cute little breakfast place in Needham. I came here with my friend right after she picked me up after getting off a red-eye from the West Coast. We both got two eggs, home fries and toast, for less than $5. The food hit the spot after such a long flight, and the price is almost unbeatable. Service was quick and friendly as well. Been here many times for breakfast, and have enjoyed it every time. Greek family-owned eatery, along with Nicholas's Pizza next door. You get family-style service, which is to mean warm, welcoming, but may come off busy/casual for some diners. Food is simple fare, but hits the spot for the right price. There aren't many breakfast options around metrowest, so the proximity makes this my breakfast go-to place. Outdoor seating is a plus, albeit with a view of a gas station. read more

Great place for a quick sandwich, burger, eggs etc of which there are not many in the area.I had a turkey burger, friend had grilled chicken sandwich, both good and reasonably priced. Food was good, but...... We were a party of six, including two small children and a diabetic. After waiting almost an hour after ordering for the food (seriously), we asked what was happening and were told by our waitress that they cook for the smaller parties before ours. One member of the party eventually got his meal, but it was several minutes before the rest of us were served. I have never heard of anything like this! Our waitress got every single one of our 7 orders right without writing anything down which was super cool. However my sandwich was super burnt, and the "home fries" aren't even fried. So I finally have my appetite back after a family tragedy, I decided to order from Fresco's in Needham, I take my time on their website, make my decision; even thought ahead to order something for dinner, I ran over on my lil 1/2 hour lunch, run back to work and WTHec, it's not even my order. So I call to alert the staff to give the next customer THEIR chicken club order and they did not give a darn!! I'm so disappointment as you can imagine after putting so much thought into 2 meals now that my appetite has returned (and put some lbs back on) and they didn't give a care! Everything was just about spot on, with the exception of the sausages (they were your average boxed breakfast sausage quality). We come fairly often for breakfast with our kids (4 & 3). The food is very good - my wife gets a greek omlette and I get pancakes or a western omlette. The kids like chocolate chip pancakes, french toast, waffles. The portions are a good size and the food is very tasty, and priced reasonably. The staff is very nice, but be ready for a leisurely meal. All in all, a relaxed and friendly breakfast with delicious food. Would choose this place over supposed "fancier" or "niche" places any day. read more

I am really surprised by the negative ratings Fresco is getting. I live in Needham and this is my "Go To" restaurant when I have company when everyone just wants simple food like breakfast and burgers. My wife and I have probably had breakfast there 20 times and I have had lunch there just about as many with friends and have never had a bad meal. ATMOSPHERE: It's essentially a breakfast and lunch diner. It is not dreadful but just run of the mill I suppose. I have never noticed cracked seats, etc so I am really surprised by that comment. If I wanted ambiance I would go to Not Your Average Joes or one of the other restaurants in downtown. SERVICE: Again, I have never had a problem getting waited on and the personnel have never made us wait for any extended time. Again, I am really surprised to read the negative comments regarding that. PRICE: Seems pretty typical for this kind of restaurant. You definitely get enough food and I have never left there hungry. FOOD: This is the reason I go. Breakfast has always met my expectations and I honestly don't ever recall having a bad omelette and my wife has always been happy with her meal. Home fries are good and as I really don't like onions, surprised by the comment that there were too many. For lunch, I LOVE the classic cheeseburger and steak fries which has never disappointed. I have numerous people comment that it is one of the best burgers they have ever had and when they come in town, suggest eating there again because it was so good. CONCLUSION: Maybe me, my wife, and my friends are simple folks who really don't know what defines a great restaurant and a good meal? I make an effort to always post positively for the small places I frequent in the local area and. I think Fresco has potential with their food but the entire experience of eating there was so bizarre. Those at the greeters stand lacked the clarity/ courtesy you would expect by the front of a restaurant- made us and other patrons carry high chairs to our tables, which is fine but still odd. A waitress did not come to our table for many minutes upon being seated. Dropped food and drinks off in a hurried manner, reaching over individuals instead of repositioning, never checked in to see if we needed anything and never refilled drinks, empty for 20+ minutes. We only got our check after I flagged her down across the restaurant. Those details can make a tasty meal taste worse than an average meal with great service. Hope I'm an isolated instance but the entire operation seemed off- including the big screen TV showing an animal hospital show with sick,injured and to-be operated on pets for all to see during their lunch. read more

To begin, we were greeted by a host who told us to seat ourselves, then came by and literally threw our menus on the table that we chose. I looked at the menu online before I came and was all set to order the fish and chips. However, we got the restaurant and fish and chips was no where to be seen on the menu. So, that was frustrating. At least keep your website up to date. On top of that, our waitress was absolutely terrible. She never once checked on us, asked how our food was, or if we needed refills (which we did). We were sitting outside, and waited for approximately 10 minutes after we finished eating for her to saunter outside and put our check on the table (without asking if we wanted dessert or telling us "thanks, have a good night"). I liked the meal I decided on, and so did the person I was with. But, we agreed we wouldn't go back again due the poor service. read more

I've been to Fresco at least a dozen times in the past year. The food is good and very consistent. As far as atmosphere, it's a diner...no more, no less. Their home fries are good (and I'm more of a hash brown person, so that says something) and the omelettes are respectable. This morning, friends and I arrived at Fresco and were welcomed by the warm, accommodating waitstaff. Around the table, we were each pleased with our respective orders of strawberry waffle, hash and eggs, buttermilk pancakes, and a veggie omelet (with a few side dishes here and there). It's worth mentioning the raisin toast, which was exceptionally tasty. Also, the coffee has improved tremendously since an earlier dining experience, in which it had tasted weaker. Overall, the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food, and our party was content and well-fed. Fresco is currently one of a few places to get breakfast in Needham, although it is also open at lunchtime. The pretty umbrella tables out front are especially inviting.
