We love this place! We have not eaten anything there that is ! Chicken salad is amazing, however tonight when we ate there.....the chicken salad was dry. I asked to talk to the owner just to let her know. She was totally AWESOME! She tasted it and agreed! She made a new batch, refunded my dinner, AND sent me home with a pound for FREE! I was not expecting any of that. This is another reason why we have taken 3 of our friends here! We just had the most wonderful experience here. The food was delicious and the service exceeded our expectations. Everyone loves their meal (my Herb Shrimp salad came with a VERY generous amount of shrimp!) The kids' meals were substantial and looked delicious. Our daughter ordered the kids' pasta Alfredo, and she ended up telling me it was "too cheesy" (honestly, no fault of the restaurant-- it looked incredible, and she can be kind of picky). Our server noticed us discussing her meal, and offered to have the chef make her a new bowl of pasta that was "less cheesy." Wonderful! Food is made to order in house with fresh ingredients. Food allergies are understood and accommodated easily. There were 4 of us, we each ordered a different dish, and each was perfection. Steaks, ribs, chicken, Alfredo properly cooked, well seasoned, attractive presentation. Desserts were outstanding, all home made. Real shortbread, rich brownie, best cheesecake and Key lime pie ever. Came for lunch almost 2 weeks ago with my 2 daughters. We've been wanting to try this place since it opened. We got there around 12:30 and the restaurant was pretty empty. There was only one other table that was already seated and a couple of people at the bar. We were seated and ordered drinks. We all ordered cheeseburgers and fries. 2 medium rare and 1 medium. 40 minutes later our burgers finally came out. Don't really know why it took so long as we were not given a reason. Our waiter didn't really have much to do with our table but the waitress who had the other table had to assume the roll refilling our drinks etc. when the food did come we were asked if we wanted any additional condiments, which we said yes to. Finally after another 5-10 minutes I had to get up and ask our waiter for the condiments, which he had the waitress bring. Burgers unfortunately were over cooked and the bread was somewhat hard. The French fries were absolutely amazing though. When we asked for the check even my teenage daughter asked the waitress if we could request that she receive the tip as she did 90% of our service. I rally wanted to have a good experience and am bummed because if this is the service and quality when they are slow I'm scared to see what it's like when they're busy. read more

Wonderful food & service! We left Ohio and drive 10 hours through the pouring rain and found this location with decent reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Very glad we did. The service was very friendly and there's a nice selection of a variety of food, but not too many choices like the Cheese Cake Factory. Pasta dishes, homemade chicken salad, steaks & seafood and other salads sounded great. I decided on the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and my husband got the shrimp & grits (option of two styles NOLA or Charleston) NOLA. Both of us enjoyed our meal and we shared the brownie a la mode for dessert. They also have a full bar but I just needed some good ole southern sweet tea that you can't get in Ohio and it didn't disappoint. My husband did enjoy his IPA after the long rainy drive. The manager told us everything is prepared from fresh ingredients, the only thing in the freezer is the ice cream! Give this place a try and see if you agree that it's a good place to get a nice, clean meal. read more

Just discovered this restaurant nearby that's only been here a year. Shocked that we could find a table at 6 on a Saturday nite my expectations were not too high. My party was seated immediately and menus and drink orders taken. Throughout the evening I was very pleasantly surprised at the attention from numerous wait staff as they passed our table: beverage refills, inquiries about our meals. My black and blue filet salad was absolutely delicious. The salad fresh and crisp with generous portions of perfectly cooked steak was huge. The dressing light and chilled. My dining companion had grilled salmon which she said was seasoned lightly and very flavorful. The cheesy grits side was creamy and smelled amazing. We noticed from our seats near a window carryout being delivered by staff to patrons in designated parking spots.perfect for busy folks hurrying to and from work, home, soccer games, etc. Catering us also available. I have had several opportunities to visit this location and was less than pleased with how the staff was treated from the cooks to the dishwashers, from the past and the present from the day one that the location opened, from the front of the house and back of the house. While I enjoyed the food, I will not visit this location again because of the way certain type of individuals have been treated. I will also share with other people the word to not visit this location ever again. I would imagine that there is a lot of talking about people behind closed doors and the creation of a hostile work environment, which I cannot condone as a customer. I have overheard the manager speaking ill about workers in front of the house while I was present and eating. The manager has blonde hair like dog the bounty hunter. This is unacceptable and I will not visit this location again. read more

My kids (10 and under) and I stopped here for a quick dinner this week. Our server, Trevor, was very attentive and friendly, answered all our questions, and met all of our needs. Our food, the herbed shrimp entrée and two kids meals, was great. The kid's menu in particular has a variety of choices making it more appealing (to both parents and kids) than your typical kids menu. My daughter got pasta and my son got a quesadilla with fries. This is a great addition to Mathews. Four of us went here on a Sunday night. No wait. The food took a little bit to get to us, but it was worth the wait. This isn't some burger joint. Appetizer: Chips with pineapple salsa. This was very good. I don't know that it was so great I would get it again, but it was still good and everyone liked it. Entrees ordered: Ribs and chicken special, Black and blue ribeye (12oz), Teriyaki filet (7oz) with Cauliflower (this was a vegetable of the day that I got instead of the asparagus), and blackened chicken Alfredo. The alfredo is made to order and I had to try a bite of my wife's; It was delicious. The pasta did not swim in an excess of sauce. Similarly my steak was not overpowered with teriyaki. Everyone loved everything. Desert: We tried one of everything. The brownie was decadent and rich. I don't think I could eat a whole one. The key lime bar was a perfect combination of sweet and tart. The Cheese cake had a very custard like feel, the way it should. And the strawberry short cake, well, they actually made short bread! (most places just throw cheap cake in instead) Again, well prepared food is worth waiting for and our patience was rewarded. The wait staff all seemed young, but I think they did a great job. If our waiter was busy with another table, someone else made sure our glasses were full. This is a real gem and we will be coming back. I really hope it lasts longer than the other places that have been at this location. read more
