I have to say probably the best hamburger you're going to eat in Charlotte little known fact but true!

This place is phenomenal. I would recommend almost everything on the menu. My favorites are the Cesar Salad with any protein on it (scallops, shrimp), the Alfredo with shrimp, the guacamole app, and the kale salad is really good. I can say that on weekends the food is better, maybe a different chef? Portions are large, service is exceptional, specials are amazing with the half priced wine. read more

We went here for lunch. It was very quiet. The server was very attentive to our needs. We got the shrimp and grits, Caesar salad, filet wrap with fries and key lime pie. It was delicious. Pretty darn good! I like this Fresh Chef better than the other one I had been to. The atmosphere is bright and very open. I ordered a salad with half kale, half romaine, and salmon. It was a generous portion with a big piece of salmon and it was very good. Service was fast. The manager came by the table to make sure it was all good. There is no constructive criticism that I can offer. I went with my friend, Ginny, who told me what to order, so I didn't really review the menu carefully. My impression is that this restaurant is a really good choice for salads and sandwiches. It seems like a perfect place to grab a fast lunch. I may not think of this as my first choice for a dinner spot, but it depends on what you want. For what they do, they do a great job. And, I love that there are servers who come to your table to take your order. They don't make patrons order at the counter, which, to me, is a real plus. If you need a place quiet enough to carry on a conversation, this is also a great choice. I would love to have one of these restaurants closer to the Blakeney area. I would definitely go more often. read more

The food is so excellent and delicious! The service leaves much to be desired. Once we were seated, we wait 15 whole minutes for anyone to come to our table. There were 3 of us, and when we ordered our drinks, finally, we were only brought 2 drinks. My sister's boyfriend was left waiting and waiting. The waitress just said oops. My sister ordered Hawaiin smothered chicken. Sooo wonderful! Bursting with flavor. She did have to wait for a knife, though. Her boyfriend got a filet wrap, and he asked for an additional side of veggies, along with the fries. The veggies never came, and the fries were cold. The wrap was spectacular, though. I ordered a shrimp salad. I asked for no cheese of any kind and no dressing, but teriyaki sauce on the side. There were cheese crumbles on my salad, I'm not even sure are in the description. It also had some kind of dressing on it. I sent it back. It took 20 minutes to get it back. It was made perfectly, the second time around. I would come back, in hopes of a different waitress/er. read more

A place that cares about food and drink that is good for the body that help heal and keep it healthy. We tried the sauteed flounder and the murgh tikka masala chicken along with three in one and passion fruit juices. Coffee and a slice of passion fruit cake to share for desert. I used to come here frequently and never had a bad meal until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Their salmon which I would always get was so fishy this time that the smell almost knocked you out as it came to the table. the taste confirmed it was not fresh. The portion sizes of the salads and sizes were so much smaller than usual too. Assuming they either have new ownership/management or a new kitchen staff/chef. I may give it one more try in a few weeks. read more

After restaurants started opening back up we have not received very good service at most places however when we recently ate brunch at Steven's Mill Cafe not only was the food delicious but the service was over the top! Mediocre, but our waitress was so kind!! Weird stir fry and chicken was a little chewy but the fries are great and the water was constantly refilled and it was relatively cheap. A nice above average American restaurant that is cordial but impersonal and poorly decorated. The food is basic and well prepared with a lack of appetizer options. Prices are reasonable for the quality and we enjoyed our house salads, chicken marsala and scallops. The service leaves much to be desired as they use a clumsy team system that had six different people serve us food with no one checking on us after we were served. read more

The food is always really good, they have a good selection if food, from Breakfast to Dinners. The portions are out of this world! THEYRE HUGE!!!!!!! You will leave feeling stuffed. The prices are also very good for the size of the portions. The staff are all very nice, everyone acts as if they want to be there and that is a really good thing. I also like how everyone is doing something and helping out. The place is very clean and taken really food care of. I would definitely recommend this place to eat and its not really loud in there. I really wanted to like this place but I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed. Especially for the price. Paid over $11 for a sandwich, no side, no drink...just a sandwich. That might have been ok, but for a very small amount of meat, plastic wrapped cheese and an old bun, it wasn't. (Oh, and they forgot the bacon.) The ratio of bread to meat was 90/20 and was dry, dry, dry. (They say its baked but it was definitely just pulled out of the bag and put on the plate.) To be honest, a sub next door at HT is 100 times better and I don't particular like HT subs. The only saving grace was the cheese sticks were good. I'll give them another try, but definitely not ordering a sandwich. read more

I had an excellent lunch here . All the staff I encountered were nice and friendly , food came right out and prices are great . I ordered the wedge salad and it's honestly enough for two people. If you want delicious food with amazing service, this is definitely the place to go! Everyone from the hostess, to our waitress and even the manager was so friendly and so attentive. We did not have to wait long for our drinks or food. And the name says it all-everything was very FRESH! The portions were very generous! My boyfriend got the blackened chicken and the cilantro rice pilaf that it came with was to die for! I got the lasagna special and it was amazing. I got the half portion and even then I was only able to eat half of that because it was such a big portion.
