Good menu choices for breakfast and brunch. We got a little bit of everything! Eggs and steak, cheeseburger, salad, avocado toast and BLT. Everything is great. This is an amazing restaurant, serving tapas in the Spanish style but all kinds of flavors and varieties. My wife and daughter came here with our realtor several months ago when first visiting Charlotte. It's a great place to share food, you kind of want to order one or two things, enjoy them, and then order something else. My favorites were the chicken wings and the macaroni and cheese. There are so many options I'm not sure you can go wrong. It reminds me of Greene, Texas, with the grist mill locale and vibe. We were able to get a reservation in advance, that is definitely a good idea on busy nights. Waxhaw is a really quaint community, this was my first time to visit. Can't wait to go back! My husband and I are fairly new to the area and we have been trying different restaurants in the area. Tonight we tried Fresh Chef and we were thoroughly pleased. I got the pesto chicken, and it didn't disappoint! The food had amazing taste. My husband got the Cajun chicken and he said it was so good! The atmosphere was amazing and the service was top notch, I never had to ask for a refill on my drink. They also opened the door for us as we walked up! You do not see that anywhere else! I hadn't heard about this place, but decided to stop while in the area. I'm so glad I did. The food was AMAZING! Everything is so fresh and to top it off the service was above par. My server, Rebecca, was so great. She was so pleasant and welcoming. Next, both managers, Jacque and Frankie, stopped by to thank us for coming in. They were engaging and just made us feel appreciated. I ordered the meatloaf and let me say that it was really good. We also got strawberry shortcake and they gave us some chicken salad to take home and try (which was really good as well). Everything about this experience was great. We learned that there are no freezers in the kitchen and everything is made fresh daily, hence the name. That's why everything taste so fresh, because it is lol. I know I'll be back. Stopped in for breakfast this AM. It was a bit late for us and there were only 2 other couples. Clean and neat. I ordered the Ham Omelette with a side of fruit and rye toast with whipped butter that my hubby eats because I'm GF. Hubby got the Breakfast Bowl with diced potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and onions, cheese and 2 eggs on top. Both were served hot. My omelette was stuffed with ham and cheese. I could only finish 1/2. Hubby enjoyed 1/2 of the Breakfast Bowl and the rye toast. Service was good. Note- you pay less if you use cash. Credit cards are charged price listed on menu. read more

My husband I wanted to check bout the local restaurant and we really enjoyed the food the service. From the moment we walked on we were greeted until we walked out. The tuna appetizer was cooked perfectly. I did get a chance to take a picture of our other entrees. We had Salmon with cilantro rice and broccoli. Absolutely incredible food! The French onion soup is amazing. My main meal was the blackened shrimp with garlic aioli, cilantro rice and pico. The garlic aioli was fantastic. Everything was super simple yet flavorful. Very wholesome restaurant with generous portions. There are multiple locations around the Charlotte area. The staff was great at the one we went to in Matthews, very sweet and attentive. My friend got a blackened chicken wrap and loved it. Great menu options. I would go back in a heart beat. read more

We eat here all the time and the food is always outstanding! Their salads are HUGE and you can never go wrong with the grilled chicken, black and blue filet, or grill salmon salads! Always enjoy eating at The FreshChef. Burgers are cooked right and condiments etc always fresh. My only complaint the last 2 times are the fries. While I love shoe string fries, they have been very soggy and soft. They should be crisp and not hang like a wet noodle when you hold one. We will still continue to visit and maybe we will need to order the fries extra crispy. read more

If you haven't eaten here yet, you most definitely should. I've had several meals here in the past month. I loved the French Dip packed with juicy sliced beef. The ham and cheese omelets are also delicious, stuffed with tasty ham and melted cheddar. Cheeseburgers are awesome as well as the Italian subs. I've got my eye on the breakfast benedicts for my next tastebud adventure. Not only is the food great but the staff is super friendly and the service is excellent! This was our first time at Fresh Chef and we recently moved to the area and went by this a few times shopping, but Fresh Chef sounded like a salad place or maybe even a deli in my mind for some reason, and boy was I wrong, this is a great restaurant! My wife actually suggested trying it out this evening so I looked it up online and found a menu and thought OK they have regular food I can do this. I ended up getting the Black and Blue Ribeye and it was truly amazing, it came with asparagus and fries both of those were also delicious. My wife and daughter shared a Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and both said it was very good as well. We wanted to try desert but portions and taste combined to make that impossible, I didn't want a box, I wanted to finish it!! Also the wait staff were very friendly and helped each other out, if someone who was not our server saw my drink almost empty they asked what I had and brought out a new one, terrific teamwork! Really no complaints, it is a little pricey but I would still highly recommend trying the place out if you have not been! It is well worth it. read more

First visit. Little bit of a wait but hostess kept us updated and was very friendly. My friend ordered Cajun trout. Came with cilantro rice and broccoli. Trout was good and broccoli and as fresh and cooked perfect. I ordered the Portobello sandwich. It's served with fries and kale which I substituted with grilled asparagus. Good choice too. The waffle was cooked nicely as well. My only complaint is that it was very bland. There was no flavor even with the butter, the syrup and drowning it in Texas Pete. My wife and I ordered the shrimp and grits and black and blue ribeye. Both were tastefully seasoned, well cooked and heavily salted. Yes, there was enough salt in those two dishes to cure and entire hog. I will say, to their defense, we went back and the food wasn't as salty. It's has very nice ambiance how ever it is a little small so you feel a little cramped. I ordered the martini sunset it was delicious and very stout! My niece had a kale salad which she loved, I had a regular salad with their house dressing which was yum! Our waitress was awesome too she was super sweet. Here is where it got disappointing I love Chicken Marsala it is one of my favorite dishes I eat it often this did not taste like chicken marsala at all. The chicken was juicy the whole meal was very good it just wasn't chicken marsala. My niece got white fish with cilantro rice very good, and we got a brownie a la mode... FABULOUS!
