Definitely not what I expected the restaurant to be. I walked in through the patio door, and didn't know if I should sit anywhere, wait for the lady that was cleaning to acknowledge me??? She didn't, lol! So my next move was walking through the dining area and that's where I see the menu and register! Unique and fun atmosphere! My family and I stopped here on a recent road trip and we were not disappointed. We arrived a little after 8pm on Saturday night and they were not busy. The main dining room looks like the front walls open up like a garage door to create a bit of an open air dining room, but with it being late and a little cooler, these were closed. I imagine during the day they are open. The overall theme of a 50's diner is cute. There is a lot of seating in the dining area. There are 2 dining tables that look like the back of an old Cadillac. This of course is everyones favorite place to sit. The food is basically burgers & shakes with a few other items. You will notice there are "Frisco" Burgers and "Basic" Burgers. The difference is that the Frisco burgers are served on toasted sourdough bread and the basic is your regular hamburger bun. We ordered the "Frisco" style, which was fantastic. It almost reminds me of Texas Toast. The burgers are a good size. I am a big guy with a huge appetite, and I considered doing a "Double". I am glad I didn't because I had a hard time finishing my regular burger. A must-try on the menu is their "Parmesan Zucchini Sticks". One order is 6 pieces and they are delicious. The staff here are great. When they bring your food out to you, they were rollerskates! Very fun! Only downside to our visit was the cleanliness. Throughout the restaurant, it just looked messy. We did come late in the evening, but they didn't appear to have staff that was focused on busing tables and wiping counters and the drink station down. Went to Frisco's with my family to celebrate my nephew receiving an award at school. As we walked in, no one greeted us. There is a sign directing you to order at the counter before seating. My cousin stood at the counter to place her order, no one was in line. It took almost 10 minutes for her order to be taken. Anyway, most of our order was out surprisingly fast, except my chicken Greek salad had no chicken and my nephews kid meal and shake were missing. I flagged the server (same person taking the orders) and she took back my salad, she returned with my salad with chicken on it and said she had not charged me for chicken, I offered to pay; she said no. Mind you the salad name on the menu is "chicken Greek salad" it is not like I ordered a plain salad and added chicken. Now we waited, and waited and waited some more for my nephews meal. I got up and asked about the meal, the server's response: "didn't I already bring it?" No you didn't. She scrambled to get the order started and then to make the shake. Keep I mind that there were only other 2 tables occupied at this time as it was Friday around 2. I'm giving it 2 stars because the food was ok. My dad had been there before and said that the service and quality had definitely declined. Keep in mind that there were no severs on rollers skates either like advertised. I ask where it is, and the lady speaks zero English and doesn't understand anything I'm saying. Told me to pull up and she'll give me a menu and proceeds to say "I don't know the menu" still not understanding what I'm saying. There are now 3 other people behind me that couldn't pre order either. And I tried ordering a salad with all Romain lettuce since we don't like weeds in our family, and they don't even have that. Food: I got the Chipotle Bacon Cheeseburger (double) and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and not just because I was hungry. You can actually taste the charbroiling to the meat. The buns were toasted. The cheese was melted. The fries were seasoned, crispy and hot. I couldn't be more pleased with my meal because most themed diner food tends to fall flat when it comes to the food. I wish I had room for dessert, but my. stomach just isn't the size of a hippo. Ambiance: You won't be bored with all the retro decor to look at, believe me. From the posters up on the wall to the various nicknacks in the dining area. Like powdered Parmesan cheese grilled into the bread. Sourdough bread or Texas toast would've been way better. It was too rich and salty with that on there for my taste. I've seen them go out of their way to fix orders quickly and professionally when something isn't right. They're a bright spot in the overall vibe of the place. But the service from the waitresses -- especially the carhops -- is another story. I really wish I could say the same about them, but I've consistently had unpleasant experiences. Rude attitudes, lack of basic courtesy, and even an eye roll from a young waitress the last time I was there. It's frustrating when the food and value are so good, but the front-of-house staff makes you feel unwelcome. It really brings the whole experience down.
