Ordered through Grubhub on Amazon app from Frisson Espresso 44. And confusingly, Frisson Espresso 44 not appear in a Yelp search, but Frisson Espresso does (also, does anyone know how to leave a detailed review on Grubhub itself? I looked, but in my uncaffeinated and unfed state, I just couldn't find it, assuming it's there). The delivery was right on time. I was so excited when the bag felt warm. Such promise! I didn't even mind that the iced mocha had leaked a little or that the bag left wet, coffee-y patches on my shirt and arm. Then the letdown, and what a letdown it was. Or rather, what letdowns they were. I asked for sugar, so I don't know why they gave me Splenda. If they are going to throw in random stuff, why not throw in all the different sweeteners? And something to stir with? Apparently requesting utensils and napkins doesn't count...this isn't a big deal if you're home but a little trickier to rectify if you're staying in a hotel and your room doesn't have a coffee machine (and you discover the deficiencies after you get back to your room). I had to raid the hotel tissue box to clean up the ice coffee from various surfaces. Pain au chocolat was so dry, it was inedible. I tried to eat it with a sip of of latte, hoping maybe the two would somehow complement each other. Nope. Just go to Bourke St Bakery instead. Or try another place. Save your money and skip the pastries here. I didn't get the chocolate chip cookie I ordered - instead, another pain au chocolate. Did I mention it was inedible? But based on the pastries, maybe it wouldn't have been any good either? (In which case It wouldn't matter, but we'll never know...) The Kouignn Aman was also really dry. Does the picture look like buttery goodness to anyone? It was more like a really doughy palmier cookie. So I am really disappointed because based on the reviews, I expected something good. Have visited this location twice. The first time, I just grabbed a quick hot chocolate. The barista was very nice and having a chat with one of the other customers in the store, so great service. And the hot chocolate was great! Second time, I got an iced mocha latte. Truthfully, not too good (in my taste). It had a bit of a burnt flavor and I do not think I ended up finishing it. In terms of the actual shop, it's very lowkey and hidden and hasn't been too packed when I've been inside. Seems great for some casual reading and a coffee or some general work. read more

Cute coffee spot located in Hell's Kitchen! They have the staple coffee drinks available, so I opted for an americano which was perfect--not too acidic nor bitter! Drinks were reasonably priced. A friend of mine who's local to the area recommended their kouign amann - the staff informed me that they don't have this every day, so I came on the right day! Their pastries can be toasted upon request. The kouign amann was delightful, buttery and with caramel notes. Service was friendly and quick! Came here in the morning for a matcha latte after reading the nice reviews. There were only two people in there (sitting, already ordered). I ordered my drink and waited. After a while of not getting my drink, I got up to ask about my drink. At this point, still near empty cafe, two people walked in after me, ordered, and got their drinks. Turns out cashier totally forgot about my order, after already noting it on his iPad and taking my payment, because "he had other orders and forgot about this one" (it was a near empty cafe, and him and the barista were just chatting the entire time). They didn't think to wonder why a customer was sitting there in front of them without a drink. Disappointed at the quality of my experience and won't return. read more

Wandering through the neighborhood, my partner and I were on a mission to find the perfect cup of coffee.This adorable little coffee shop is a hidden gem (not literally, it's right there on the street, but you get the idea). With only 4-5 tables, it's cozy, quaint, and just plain charming. Isaac, the coffee master extraordinaire, whipped up two cappuccinos with oat milk that tasted exactly like what we had in mind. The atmosphere is peaceful, perfect for catching up with a friend or just enjoying some solo time. Special shoutout to Isaac for the excellent coffee and photography-ready smile. I got the BEC and it was basically just an egg and cheese sandwich. The bacon was almost non existent. For a sandwich this size and at this cost I expected a lot more than ONE tiny sliver of bacon. Very disappointing. 90% of my bites had no bacon. The drip coffee was good. The guy at the register was very friendly and it's a cute, little coffee shop. But the breakfast sandwich was just sad. Save your money. Also, nothing in the cabinet is labeled with a price. And none of those items are on the menu board. It's annoying having to ask how much things are. read more

On a long visit to NY, coming from the land of coffee snobs, didn't have great hopes of finding good coffee drinks, (really mixed bag of stores on previous visits). LOVE that Frisson Espresso is within a couple of blocks of my current space. Mochas and lattes are great, the baristas are so friendly, and they really personalize things -- you can ask to have something a particular way and they'll do exactly that. Great art on the walls, good wifi, And the coffee art makes my "not a morning person" heart happy. I'll probably have to come back to NY regularly and am going to try to stay near this place every time. read more

Very sweet little coffee shop in Hell's Kitchen area. Right off the main drag. The coffee was excellent. We also ordered a croissant and a quiche Lorraine - would have preferred some breakfast sandwich options. Had to ask for the pastry to be warmed even though they offered to warm it. Quiche wasn't warmed through to the middle. Plastic forks and ceramic plates - sort of hard to eat a quiche with a plastic fork. All in all, cute little place - Broadway cast photographs all over the walls holding their Frisson coffee. Would come back for the brew but not for the food. read more

Both my 50yo father and I (22f) agree that this is the best coffee in the Times Square/Hells Kitchen area, and we don't usually agree on much so that's a stellar review. I've had the black coffee and a lavender latte from here, both some of the best coffees I've ever had. Google Maps and Apple Maps have different hours posted, both of which are over 1.5 hours different than what the barista told me. This place got me off to the right start with a stout Red Eye. Loved the local feel on a more residential street near Times Square in Hell's Kitchen. Decor-small interior with around seating for 10 people. Good music playing and an awesome picture of Mr. Brooklyn himself, Biggie Smalls. Service-very positive and upbeat barista. Staying at the Hilton Midtown (the city's largest hotel), Frisson Espresso was worth the early morning walk for quality coffee. Just off of Times Square on a block with historic buildings, it's a small cafe with a large coffee menu. Their iced hazelnut latte was refreshing in the summer and well brewed. The cafe has a few seats, but most people get theirs to go. read more

A small gem - not a statewide coffee shop - in Hell's Kitchen area. Was recommended by a barista in Korea who gave me a list of coffee shops in the city to visit. Fist thing I realized was that they use "Synesso" espresso machine, so I was quite convinced that I will he getting a decent cortado. Cortado & latte ... GREAT crema !!!!!! Hell's Kitchen district is heaven for foodies. Stopped by this highly Yelped little gem for some morning caffeine. Barista is very friendly & engaging, my lattle came out smooth, prob 7/10, my AT favorite still the "Island Latte" @ Island Vintage Coffee. He did a good job with the foamy art inside the small to go cup. The kouign amann was forgetable, not airy or flaky like B Patisserie. But all is forgiven since this is a coffee shop. Excellent coffee. The staff was also incredibly friendly. When I am in the area, I will be coming here. They document and take the temperature of everyone that comes in. We shared a scone, a raspberry scone. It was really nice to have a little something with our coffee. They have some quiches that look pretty tasty. We didn't have one as we just ate. The coffee quality you can tell is great. It's also not bitter with that strange aftertaste that a lot of the trendy coffee shops have nowadays. It's a small cafe with two tables.
