Cute coffee spot located in Hell's Kitchen! They have the staple coffee drinks available, so I opted for an americano which was perfect--not too acidic nor bitter! Drinks were reasonably priced. A friend of mine who's local to the area recommended their kouign amann - the staff informed me that they don't have this every day, so I came on the right day! Their pastries can be toasted upon request. The kouign amann was delightful, buttery and with caramel notes. Service was friendly and quick! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

On a long visit to NY, coming from the land of coffee snobs, didn't have great hopes of finding good coffee drinks, (really mixed bag of stores on previous visits). LOVE that Frisson Espresso is within a couple of blocks of my current space. Mochas and lattes are great, the baristas are so friendly, and they really personalize things -- you can ask to have something a particular way and they'll do exactly that. I got the BEC and it was basically just an egg and cheese sandwich. The bacon was almost non existent. For a sandwich this size and at this cost I expected a lot more than ONE tiny sliver of bacon. Very disappointing. 90% of my bites had no bacon. The drip coffee was good. The guy at the register was very friendly and it's a cute, little coffee shop. But the breakfast sandwich was just sad. Save your money. Also, nothing in the cabinet is labeled with a price. And none of those items are on the menu board. It's annoying having to ask how much things are. read more

A little hidden gem. If you're looking to lounge out, this spot is not for you. But if you're looking to enjoy a unique/special coffee blend of mushroom and espresso bean while enjoying a cozy(maybe tight) sitting, head in. You don't have to order to stay, you can take to go. We like this place and will definitely be back for our weekend morning outing around the neighborhood. read more

Both my 50yo father and I (22f) agree that this is the best coffee in the Times Square/Hells Kitchen area, and we don't usually agree on much so that's a stellar review. I've had the black coffee and a lavender latte from here, both some of the best coffees I've ever had. Not sure where they get their coffee from, but I'll have to find out, because you can literally taste a difference. read more

Very sweet little coffee shop in Hell's Kitchen area. Right off the main drag. The coffee was excellent. We also ordered a croissant and a quiche Lorraine - would have preferred some breakfast sandwich options. Had to ask for the pastry to be warmed even though they offered to warm it. Quiche wasn't warmed through to the middle. Plastic forks and ceramic plates - sort of hard to eat a quiche with a plastic fork. All in all, cute little place - Broadway cast photographs all over the walls holding their Frisson coffee. Would come back for the brew but not for the food. read more

Although they have many options on their menu, I just got a basic vanilla iced latte... and it was yummy! I needed a quick coffee on my walk and they delivered! There wasn't a line so the service was quick! Plus if you ask, they give you a little sticker!! It is pretty small, with only a few tables, but there is room if you want to sit and work there! Definitely worth trying if you need a fresh coffee! read more

Appropriately New York small with six two-tops and thin bar seating for six more. Quiche Lorraine in personal size! Couple of savory croissants and another dozen or so plain and sweet desserts. This is quite a small coffee shop, but there's some seating for those to get work done. My order came out really fast, so I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the cappuccino and a kouign-amann to-go. The foam art on the coffee was really cute, and I got to enjoy it before putting a to-go cap on it. The pastry was warmed up for me. Google Maps and Apple Maps have different hours posted, both of which are over 1.5 hours different than what the barista told me. This place got me off to the right start with a stout Red Eye. Loved the local feel on a more residential street near Times Square in Hell's Kitchen. Decor-small interior with around seating for 10 people. Good music playing and an awesome picture of Mr. Brooklyn himself, Biggie Smalls. Service-very positive and upbeat barista. He loves what he does and it shows. Drinks-Red Eye was bold, smooth, and strong. My wife's Vanilla Latte was great and just perfectly sweet. Kouign was great, and will plan to come again. read more

Staying at the Hilton Midtown (the city's largest hotel), Frisson Espresso was worth the early morning walk for quality coffee. Just off of Times Square on a block with historic buildings, it's a small cafe with a large coffee menu. Their iced hazelnut latte was refreshing in the summer and well brewed. The cafe has a few seats, but most people get theirs to go. read more

A small gem - not a statewide coffee shop - in Hell's Kitchen area. Was recommended by a barista in Korea who gave me a list of coffee shops in the city to visit. Fist thing I realized was that they use "Synesso" espresso machine, so I was quite convinced that I will he getting a decent cortado. Cortado & latte ... GREAT crema !!!!!! (I don't pay much attention to late art anyway) ... but crema on both were divine ~~ Worth another visit if you crave a decent coffee. read more

Hell's Kitchen district is heaven for foodies. Stopped by this highly Yelped little gem for some morning caffeine. Barista is very friendly & engaging, my lattle came out smooth, prob 7/10, my AT favorite still the "Island Latte" @ Island Vintage Coffee. He did a good job with the foamy art inside the small to go cup. The kouign amann was forgetable, not airy or flaky like B Patisserie. But all is forgiven since this is a coffee shop. They were only 3 small tables inside with limited seats, i took the only outdoor table next to the store sign, enjoying the sights & sounds of the morning bustles on W 47 th. read more

Excellent coffee. The staff was also incredibly friendly. When I am in the area, I will be coming here. They document and take the temperature of everyone that comes in. We shared a scone, a raspberry scone. It was really nice to have a little something with our coffee. They have some quiches that look pretty tasty. We didn't have one as we just ate. The coffee quality you can tell is great. It's also not bitter with that strange aftertaste that a lot of the trendy coffee shops have nowadays. It's a small cafe with two tables. They removed a lot of the tables I gather because of the pandemic but they have one table outside in the curb. read more

Walked here from my hotel to get my caffeine fix for the day. I wasn't expecting much, honestly. There are so many coffee shops in NYC and I'm just a tourist from Florida. But I can honestly say that I was impressed with Frisson. Their espresso had a great flavor and the oatmilk latte I ordered was exactly the pick-me-up I needed. Bomb.com! You can't go wrong with the latte here and the baked goods - especially the scones. They have oat milk as a milk substitute and latte art is a nice feature here as well. The customer service is super warm and friendly, and the barista had a nice Brooklyn accent. Definitely a notable favorite of mine and will be a regular customer! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the staff here! Alex and Leah are incredible. After one visit they remember my order and me. The coffee is consistently good, the art work is out-of this world! I have also tried the spinach quiche which (if you don't mind a soggy crust) was really flavorful! It's a small coffee shop, but I've never seen it overly packed. I like to come here and have a latte and read some afternoons. There are so many options, but this is one you don't want to miss! read more

I stopped by Frission for the first time and was immediately welcomed by the friendly barista. He crafted a delicious cortado with a seahorse latte art...pretty creative! More importantly it was deliciously rich and perfectly textured. It's a small place but there are several small tables for one or two people to pause and enjoy the funky vibe. read more

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.

For over 10 years I've been an avid coffee drinker. I've been to Café Grumpy, B.Bottle, Stumptown, Irv. Farm, you name it, I've been there! However, I've never felt more inclined to give a coffee shop a yelp review that is until I started coming to Frisson. The staff here cares as much about the service as they do the espresso. One of the baristas brought my cappuccino and warm apple cardamom over to my window seat as I waited for a friend! Also, I love that they are so transparent as far as their pastry sources. It's great to know what you're paying for. I'm no stranger to Bien Cuit Bakery (they are delicious). I also love the mini pecan pies that Frisson serves from Las Delicias Bakery (well known for their gluten free options). Although my 9-5 is super exciting (ha), coming here is truly a highlight of my work week. I cannot ask for better quality, overall. I am working on my second loyalty card!!! read more

I have tried their second location located at 3rd ave and my experience was amazing and therefore I was around hells kitchen neighborhood and decided to stop by at 47th st and again, I was delighted. This place is fairly close to Times Square but didn't scream as a tourist trap so we picked this for our morning coffee. The baristas are efficient and get your order to you quickly but I was fairly disappointed by my vanilla latte overall. The taste of any vanilla syrup was lacking and the latte had very little consistency. This is a great little coffee shop. It's small and cozy inside, with seating for about 10 to 15 people. The staff was friendly, which made the visit even better. My oat latte was strong and flavorful, and the chai latte was nicely spiced and delicious. The only thing I'd change next time is asking for my drink to be extra hot. For coffee lovers this is a place everyone must visit! All variables of espresso are available and while I really enjoyed me double espresso, I would recommend you to try the cappuccino too! We feel in love with this place whilst we spent a week in New York. We visited most mornings the staff made us feel so welcome and by our second visit they knew our order.
