She set the table, looked around but never saw me watching her, and put that fork at the end of the table on the napking with the rest of the silverware for someone to use. Disgusting!! Then, as much as I love dogs, & was happy to see dogs are very welcome, dog hair was floating around the air as we ate outside, and it was landing on our food as well as on us. Came here early Saturday morning with a group of friends and was seated right away with no wait time. The restaurant provided indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious. My friends enjoyed their meals. I had ordered the cinnamon roll pancake and the carmel omelette. The pancake was crispy tasting the cinnamon per bite. Couldn't finish the pancake and saved it for two days, pancake had its texture if you toast it for a few minutes. The omelette was really good paired with the fruit cup. I ordered the breakfast burrito after hearing great things about it, and it definitely lived up to the hype. My husband chose the cinnamon pancake with eggs, sausage, and potatoes, doing a half-and-half combination. I have to say, the portions were very generous. I had a latte, while he ordered regular coffee and said it was strong just the way he likes it. We had an amazing time! Every employee we interacted with was genuinely so kind. It was chilly outside, but it felt perfect because of the outdoor heaters. My boyfriend and I were visiting Monterey and we were looking forward to eat here. When we arrived, the ambiance was nice. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait which we did not mind. However, after we were seated and situated in the outdoor patio area, we began to browse the menu. We waited an additional 10-15 minutes before our waiter checked in on us. Our assigned waiter was an older white woman who appears to be in her late 50s. Shortly after, a white older couple sat at the table beside my partner and I. The waiter glanced at us and proceeded to take the couple's entire order ranging from drinks to their meal. We did not want to draw attention to it as we initially thought it was a mistake. She checked in with us after and began taking our orders to drink. We continued to sharing, adding that we were ready to add our food order and mid sentence she walked away to attend to a second couple who was also white, sitting further down our left to take their entire order as well. My boyfriend made an attempt to say "Excuse me" and she made a hang gesture and mumbled under her breath. She never took our order. My boyfriend and I, in the moment, felt disrespected and felt discriminated against. We understand the demand of running a business but this employee single handedly caused distress during our visit. We want to highlight John as well as the other incredibly lovely employees who enhanced our experience and who emulate that kind hearted people still exist. John made our visit feel so memorable and the other employees were so friendly, it really made up for the discrimination we had felt. The food was delicious and overall, I want to wish John, the manager and the rest of the team an infinite thank you for keeping customer service and kindness at the forefront of what you all do. read more

I ordered the eggs for my dog. They make it with 2 eggs and my dog loved it. I also ordered the hot cocoa and the Veggie Eggs Benedict with fruit. Everything was yummy and fresh. This place has some of the best brunch I've ever had. The portions are HUGE! The omelette was soft and packed with toppings. I loved the potatoes and ended up getting so full I couldn't even touch the bread. I ordered a side of the sausage links, and they were full of flavor! I loved my experience here and would definitely come back again whenever I'm visiting Carmel. The inside is very homey and feels like a cabin almost. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is also an outdoor patio section if you wanted to enjoy your food outside! The service was awesome. Our server talked to us for a couple minutes about how plans for the day and gave us advice. We chose this place since it was close to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve and we wanted a hearty, affordable, no-frills place after our morning hike. It's a 7 minute drive away, a 5 minute wait during the week for brunch, and it was exactly what we were looking for! My sister wanted to check out this spot since she saw it on DDD. There was ongoing construction in the front of the complex, but we used Google maps and was able to walk through and find it in the back area. It was busy when we visited, even during the work week, but there is an affiliated shop next door so we browsed and had the kiddos look at the toys there to pass time until we were seated. We got a nice corner spot along the back wall with a bench. Service was friendly despite how busy they were. I ordered the skillet with the brisket chili, mushrooms, and tomatoes, topped with an over easy egg. I also got the biscuit. It's a huge serving, so I took the remaining half home. The chili was a weird combo with skillet and added too much liquid to the dish, so I would order it as a side instead next time if I wanted it again (tbh I would probably choose a different protein or veg). I really enjoyed their homemade biscuit, which comes with a mini serving of jam that they prepackage and include on the plate. I noticed that my sister got the strawberry jam but I got the apricot, and I wish they had asked for our preference. This may likely be because of the large number of customers they had at the time, but I also noticed that my egg was slightly overcooked (maybe more over medium than over easy) and my garnish was missing from my order while others had theirs. I didn't think you could mess up huevos rancheros, but it had almost no flavor. It's my favorite dish, so I've had many versions at different restaurants. I don't understand why it has chips since it has corn tortillas (it's not chilaquiles), so it's too filling on the carbs, and not enough eggs or avocado (only a small piece). The beans didn't seem to have any spices or flavor. They forgot the ranchero sauce, so I thought it would add flavor when they brought it after on the side, but it was very bland. I did not get the house-made ground beef for an extra charge, which would probably add flavor. Seems like the best thing to order here is pancakes from looking at other people's meals, but there are no gluten-free options for me. The food was so delicious. Every single dish was served perfectly. The service was very timely as we went almost towards the end of closing hours. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. It's hidden on the lower level of a strip mall and towards the rear side, so a bit difficult to find. But once you locate it you will keep coming back again. Amazing! Stopped here on our way to San Diego. My boyfriend and I are huge brunch people, and this completely exceeded our expectations. Simple breakfast items done right. The bacon was particularly delicious; thick, not too salty, and small pockets of fat. Overall delicious. Service was simple, and quick. We went here because of the reviews and because it was on the way to Point Lobos. There was plenty of parking on a Saturday around 11am. When we got to the restaurant we had to wait about 15 minutes. Once we got seated, our waiter took our drink order right away and got our drinks in less than ten minutes. My screwdriver did taste light. Once our waiter took our food order, our food came out in less than fifteen minutes. My son's quesadilla was good and cheesy. My French toast felt dry and I added a lot of syrup to take some of the dryness away. My husband's Benedict needed more flavor and one of the eggs was not poached right.
