Friendly, attentive staff and nice atmosphere. Very average food. I ordered the half-rack and it was almost inedible because it was burnt, hard, and dry. Went here on out first trip to Williams and we will be back for sure. Our niece and nephew loved mining for gems and all the games they could play. The pulled pork was good as was the brisket and the tater tots were delicious. The kids liked their food and nephew ate all his ribs. Mac n cheese was just ok. This place had decent reviews and we were in the mood for BBQ so we stopped in on a Saturday night, I was less than impressed. I love small, family-owned restaurants so I was hoping this would fit in my wheelhouse. We had a table of 7 and immediately we were advised there was no table service and that we could place our orders at the bar. Our food came out quickly but for the price was sub-par quality. Brisket was tough and dry but the pulled pork was delicious. Our friend said the portions were smaller then the last time they were there. I am incredibly impressed with this establishment. Everyone was so friendly. The food was the best I've had in a long time. I love BBQ and I wish we had frontier BBQ in California. I fell in love the all their BBQ sauces, but the mustard was fire! We wanted to buy some, and they gave us a whole bottle. If you're ever in Williams AZ definitely go. On Route 66. Food took a while to come, but they were busy. The meats were all pretty decent. Had the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage link (a bit too spicy for m preference). The fried pickles were fantastic. The mac and cheese was completely bland. Didn't try the cornbread since they added chilis or jalapenos to it but the rest of my party liked it. The Brussel sprouts were absolutely gross though. Frontier Family Fun has the potential to be something great. While many local businesses play up being on Rt. 66, Frontier Family Fun plays up the area's mining history. This gives them something unique. One of the first things noticeable is the large mining sluice. It beckons passersby to try their hand at finding treasures. Visitors have the option of "mining" for gems, fossils, arrowheads, rocks, and emeralds. It was too cold for the outdoor sluice to be running. There was a whiskey barrel on the patio so that people may still mine. A barrel just didn't have the same appeal. It was also too cold to have kids leave with possibly wet clothes. A big part of the fun here hinges on the beer garden and activities. The large outdoor area looks more like a backyard bbq than a traditional German beer garden. This adds to the theming. There are tables, games and places for the kids to run around. This area was closed due to the colder temperature. The indoor shooting gallery was up and running. Indoors is more of a brewery feel. Food wise, the best thing we tried was the Brussels sprouts. They had a light crispness to them. Sprouts were covered in a tangy, warm and peppery vinaigrette. We were all in agreement that the tots came next. Tots were crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Brisket was a distant third. Meat was barely room temperature and tough. What looked like bark was really just a layer of moist seasonings clinging to the meat. Not the quality of bbq I was hoping to find. Especially from a bbq establishment. Coleslaw was beginning to turn brown. Mac and cheese was good according to my children. Children's mac and cheese was well sized. Bbq sauce choices include sweet, spicy and vinegar. Each did credit to it's style. Beer selection highlights some local breweries. Blueberry cider was worth the upcharge. It was smooth, sweet and fruity. Horrible. Just terrible. The food was EXTREMELY COLD. The cornbread was like eating my dead grandmothers ashes. The Mac and cheese was clearly made out of a box. The meat was extremely dry FOR A BARBECUE PLACE. The food tasted like it had been sitting out for quite a while. And don't even get me started on the service. The dense server couldn't get his s**t together. The place is clearly understaffed and not maintained to the best of their ability. The food took 35+ minutes, just for it to be cold. This establishment is a MUST for vacationers here. My friend and I both agree this was the best hamburger we have ever had in decades. The beef was amazing. The craft beers were fresh and stellar. An excellent place to take children or to dine with your wife or girlfriend. They have a gem panning "creek" for the kids. Indoor or outdoor patio seating around fire pits. Apparently the some days they have entertainment. Completely dog friendly. Friendly friendly staff. Friendly, friendly owners. The bartender was a bit new and forgot our order but the owner took care of our drinks. This is the MUST place to go to you are passing through here or visiting the Grand canyon. Walked in, expecting a good time. Super Bowl Sunday and all. Walked in with my wife. The place was empty, red flag. Should have left at that point. Decided to give them a chance. Support small business. Sat down, the game wasn't even on. They put it on at our request. And that's all we got. No water, no wait staff, no nothing.. no telling us we had to order at counter..for over 20 minutes. Just sat there. We had our order ready. They were just standing around doing absolutely NOTHING. They saw we were there, but no one provided service or let us know we had to order at the counter, so we left. Never again, and we suggest nobody else waste their time. This is a great find! I had the grass fed burger which was DELICIOUS! Locally sourced grass fed beef straight from the ranch. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw. He's from the south and this hit the spot, need I say more. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Especially, Roxanna! Everything was clean and well cared for. Went to Frontier On July 4th 2024. My hubby went in and ordered lunch and a couple of beers. We were sitting on the patio because we had our dogs. 45 minutes go by everyone around us are eating but we had nothing but our "number" on the table. No one came to check on us ever. This is an odd place. When you come in it looks pretty cool. While there is staff there, you have to order everything, including drinks at the bar. We ordered the platter that serves two and then the brisket chili. The brisket chili was very good, but the rest was the worst barbecue we have ever had. We did a day trip from Phoenix to Williams. First we went to bearizona then headed here before the drive home. I was really impressed by the service, activities, food, and cleanliness. We ordered three kids meals all with chicken nuggets, two with tater tots, and one with Mac and cheese. The chicken nuggets were crispy and the kids loved them. We all liked the tater tots but the Mac and cheese we would pass on next time. It lacks seasoning and isn't cheesy enough. We also got the 3 meat platter for two. The Brussel sprouts, shredded pork, cornbread, ribs and sauces were all great choices. The only item we didn't like was the "potato salad" never had it prepared this way. The potatoes were not cooked nearly enough and it was very underwhelming. The kids loved the yard games, specifically connect 4 and corn hole. We also did the gun game and mining. I was surprised by how much time the kids spent mining and just washing the stones. They also spent a majority of the car ride home playing with the rocks and comparing them to the charts we got with each bag. I am glad we planned ahead to buy their "treat" here instead of bearizona! We will definitely be returning on our next trip! read more
