Been coming here for years, and must say it has consistently been the Chinese food restaurant Go To place. The variety of chow Mien is outstanding and the Mongolian Beef is the dish of choice. Frontier Wok Too consistently puts out delicious Chinese food at a reasonable price . You can always count on them for fast and friendly service . I usually order beef fried rice and chicken chow mien, and the food never disappoints . This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Burbank. Outdoor and indoor dining is currently closed but they're open for take out and delivery. The kitchen caught on fire last year causing them to shutdown for a few months, but they're finally open, again. Frontier Wok Too is open 7 days a week until 9pm. just left ths restaurant aunt. worst meal ever. we had supposedly Sizzling Rice Soup which means the rice is to make a sizzling sound when added to the soup which didn't happen because the soup was lukewarm. You can only get their Vegetable soup which is like dish water or Hot & Sour Soup. They don't even give you steamed rice with your entree without charging you for it. the Lemon chicken was worse than rubber. I've ordered twice from this place and each time there was something wrong. The first time I ordered their Sesame chicken. It comes with rice. I had my coworker pick up the order and gave her cash to pay. I also provided her with my order receipt to show what I ordered. when she dropped off my order I saw that they had added on extra rice and charged me for it even though my order did NOT request extra rice. Strike one. I didn't make a big deal about it bc wv perhaps they needed the money but I thought principle was lacking. Their Thai iced tea is extremely sweet like ready to give you diabetes. Strike 2. Even with requesting less sugar it is still too sweet. The second time I ordered their pad thai. It didn't taste anything like padthai and where were the peanuts?! While I was eating the pad Thai I noticed there was something crunchy in my food. I immediately spat it out but couldn't recognize what it was. I kept eating, but again I felt another crunch. And not in a good way. It felt like my teeth were grinding something extremely hard. I spat it out again and looked carefully at my food. It was a piece of eggshell. I looked through my food again and saw large pieces of eggshells throughout my entire food. I immediately threw it away, but never never again am I ordering from them. THey're crooks and they can't even properly break an egg. Like how do you miss an entire 1/3 of an egg's shell! read more

Off the bat, parking is a nightmare, it's a tight squeeze getting your car into the frontier wok too parking lot. Service was not exceptional, my wife and I felt as thought they were a bit rude. This may just be a cultural difference rather than intentional disrespect. However, the food was great!! Enjoyed their crispy rice soup, orange chicken and chow mein. After reading the rave reviews on Yelp, I ordered takeaway on Tuesday 1/22/24 consisting of garlic chicken, chicken fried rice and Szechuan eggplant without the tofu. The food was so heavily drenched in dark sauces I would barely taste what I was supposed to be eating. I am a bit leery about Chinese restaurant that drench their food in sauces. Their orange chicken is so delicious-crisp exterior texture with a robust flavor, and the inside is tender and not over done. I ordered their eggplant and tofu dish, but there was not that much eggplant and there was more green peppers and other vegetables which were great. It just felt like it was miss advertised and I really wanted more eggplant. I also thought the flavor was just a little bland, but maybe that's just I don't like Chinese flavoring as much. Came here based off of the reviews... call me biased but I've been to a lot of Chinese places over the years and this one is just *meh*. A few reviews I've seen say the portion sizes are great. I wouldn't say that; I paid $4.00 for spring rolls and all they give you is two *small* spring rolls cut in half with a *small* bowl of dipping sauce. Honestly, Jack in the Box gives you better bang for your buck on their spring rolls... That was the only part of the experience I would say could be considered bad though. The rest was just mediocre. The Bao was a mediocre portion, same thing with the entrees. Noodles I got were fairly expensive for the amount you get, and though I ordered the Large Size portion of the entree, it wasn't that big either. Keep in mind I came here with my girlfriend. Overall we spent about $50. Think we could've saved $10-12 overall just by going somewhere else or at least getting more bang for our buck quantity wise. But hey, the average income in burbank is about six figures, so if you're considered average in this area, knock yourself out. I just don't think this place deserves the "$" level of expensive. "$$" at the very least. TL:DR; Food is ok, nothing to knock your socks off. Portion sizes aren't as generous as other reviews say, at least not in my experience. This use to be my families to go spot. But as of lately the service and the food have not been what it use to be. The workers seem not to care how they're treating the customers. I phoned ordered and added an item at the end of the call, person who took my ordered asked if I wanted to tip over the phone, I said no, waited 45 mins for delivery and once getting it the food which was warm not hot and my soup was missing. Called to tell them about the missing item and proceeded to place the blame on me, saying I added it and they forget to put it, but it's ok cause I didn't get charge. Been coming here for over 20 years now. It's been a go to establishment for my family and I. One of my favorite things about this place was that they never used to skimp on ingredients. But apparently they got new management with other priorities. The orange chicken used to have no bread filler, it was just juicy chicken with a light fry. It was leaps above all the other orange chicken I've ever had. Now, it's similar to any other fast food spot, a ton of doughy nonsense nobody wants. This was a massive letdown for me today. Ive come here many times and always had great service. But it looks like they have new people now. I went there with my dog. A couple walked in before me and sat at a table inside near the window. I Grabbed a menu at the front and told the women at the counter I was 1 for outside. She told me okay and she will be right out. After 10 min nobody came out. I saw an employee inside in a black shirt with a white undershirt take the order of the couple near the window which makes perfect sense. But he never came out. The woman at the front didn't come out. Finally I went in and said I wanted to order. The woman was in the back just looking at me. The guy said okay. I went back out and 5 min later nobody came out. I walked inside and the woman was just sitting in a chair in the corner behind the counter. They said nothing. I tossed my menu on the counter and left. I'm done with frontier wok. I'll be giving my business to century dragon from now on and you should too. read more

oh man, does this place kick ass or what??? The dishes are always fresh and the delivery is always succinct and accurate. They have a wide range of dishes. Their wonton soup is awesome and this is one of the examples of an exemplary fresh soup. The veges are slightly crisp and the broth is commendable. The Schezwan veges with chicken and shrimp are tasty, spicy and there is plenty of sauce. A great poor over some brown rice. Delivery guys are always friendly. All the dishes here are delicious. My personal faves are the garlic chicken and the hot braised shrimp. Everything here is made with care and most of all competency. So why don't I give this place 5 stars? Honestly, none of the dishes here stand out or can't find in other Chinese restaurants. This is a well run and balanced restaurant, even though they don't have any specialized exclusive dish you can't find anywhere. They also have brown rice which is a must for me. I live a few blocks down the street and this place gets five stars for legitimately being what seems like THE ONLY place that has cold sesame noodles, and they don't disappoint. As a vegetarian their regular menu is excellent (as well as for meat eaters), good variety, not heavy food (well, Chinese take out style is always heavy food I feel but not in that oily mass produced heavy feeling), fresh veggies and LOTS of veggies in every veggie containing item and they've always been so wonderful about making plant based swaps for me like tofu for chicken and answering any questions I have about a sauce or dish ingredients. I've eaten the sweet & sour fish at Frontier Wok Too before... It was exceptionally made with plenty fish, panko crusted, perfectly cooked in a flash fry and light sauced. Today, my favorite Chinese dish was definitely battered, fried and doused in sauce as it was made to mock sweet & sour chicken. It didn't taste like fish... However, it was fish. Different from what I've had there before... Still, good but not great. And listed as a House Specialty next to Ginger Chicken and Mixed Seafood Noodle on the chalkboard. They use to carry shrimp shumai. Maybe they still do... It's just not on the takeout menu. The takeout selection included chicken shumai. The fried shrimp appetizer was overpriced. Seafood prices are always slightly higher than other menu items. It is worth the extra couple dollars. read more
