This place was so good, I went back the very next night. In the pics are the Cookies n' Cream, Strawberry Chocolate, Banana, Nutella, and the Chocolate. My favorite I think was the Cookies n' Cream. The Banana was surprisingly super good too. Wasn't sure how it would be but yeah, was really good. If you never tried here, it's kinda like shaved ice, but not. It's like, instead of having a block of ice and shaving it and then puoring the flavor on it. They actually freeze a block of that particular flavor then shave it down. My niece said the look of the Nutella one looked like shredded turkey. Lol. Oh, and they come with pieces of Mochi and fruit. Their Mochi is ono too. The 2 times we went, was Kinda crowded and had to wait for about 20 minutes for seats. The place not that big too. Probably seating for about 20+. But can always do take out too. Frost city has been around for a long time, however, we only recently been introduced to it by a friend. May I say that we are regulars now, yes, we go almost every week for a treat. My kids love their snow ice, which melts in your mouth! The mango strawberry or watermelon lychee are kid's favorite. My husband and I absolutely loved black sesame. I'm addition to snow ice, they also have traditional Taiwanese hot desserts like taro balls, walnut soup and black sesame soup. We were referred to this place by a friend who came here several times. It's like shaved cream and has a light fluffy texture. On our first visit, we tried peanut butter and jelly and haupia. The second visit was lemongrass and cookies and cream. Overall, we liked the peanut butter and jelly flavor the best. It gets pretty busy, even at night. Located on Beretania street right after University (westbound) it's a small hidden parking lot, easy to miss. We had to turn around and go east and turn left right before the university light. Free parking, but fills up fast. Decent amount of tables inside. Shave ice is Taiwanese style where the ice is already flavored and layered on (no syrup), so not the Hawaiian style (powdered shave ice). The black sesame and green tea were tasty, but i preferred if it were sweeter. The thai tea had the most flavor. One flavor is $6+ but 2 flavors at $10 is a little steep for me. Need to pay extra for additional toppings, but it automatically comes with a few pieces of fruit and Mochi balls. Good service and tasty shave ice if you're in the area. read more

Ice ice baby! This is legit Taiwanese snow, aka bingsa. Shaved snow is creamy, flavored packed ice cream that is cut up into small bits to mimic soft fresh snow. It's like digging into a pile of creamy bits of ice cream fluff that melts in your mouth. It's served with fresh fruit and soft chewy mochi bits. I was really excited that they had durian bingsa! DURIAN! I have not seen another place serve this stinky yet delicious fruit flavor. It's a super egg fart-ish like stinky fruit that is creamy and sweet. If you're adventurous, highly recommend it! There's other items on the menu such as milk tea and classic Taiwanese desserts such as rice balls, grass jelly, sesame soup, and walnut soup. This is a great place to take a break from the heat. It's located in a small plaza and this place looks a bit run down, but don't let the outside fool you. The owners are super sweet and although it doesn't look much, just give it a try! Stumbled upon Frostcity while looking for some shave ice and this place didn't disappoint! We ordered the black sesame frost which was delicious, generously portioned, and had great texture. It also came with a few pieces of mochi. We also ordered their tea eggs ($1.50 each) which had great flavor (sometimes, tea eggs aren't marinated for long enough so they're bland). We also tried their herbal jelly which was great. They also have a variety of Asian desserts on the menu. Will come back in the future! read more

Usually I would hear how this place can get crowded, but went in at a good time as it was empty! Weekday right after work. Ordered the strawberry frost and it did not disappoint. Im always hesitant about fruit flavors tasting like chemicals. This definitely did not. Light, fluffy, and filling. Tasted like it was straight from the fruit which I appreciate. So good. The fresh fruit and mochi that comes with it is the perfect compliment to it. Next time I come back, I need to add more mochi :) Since no one customers were in the shop, the environment was chill. I can't believe I found a spot that serves fluffy Taiwanese-style snowflake shaved ice. I love this type of shaved ice , the shaved ice is very flakey and the ice itself is flavored (I'm not talking about pouring the syrup over crunchy shaved ice). They also have a variety of desserts like hot dessert soup or herbal jelly, all kinds of milk teas and teas. It looks like they have diff combo frost from time to time. I was hoping to score some li-hing snowflake ice. We end up ordering the Regular combo frost black sesame / haupia to share. I don't think I would be able to finish the entire Regular size myself. It definitely hit the spot on a hot day. There is a small lot in front of the restaurant w/ limited spots. We actually passed the restaurant and we parked nearby and walked. No syrup is needed. The ice won't melt from anything being poured on it - except if condensed milk or chocolate syrup is added as a topping. PARKING: free in the shared lot. The spaces are a bit tight, but manageable SERVICE: very friendly and efficient PRODUCTS: my mom ordered a bowl grass jelly and my cousin got a chocolate haupia frost. I got Black sesame soup - it's served hot and has some sweetness. In Cantonese, it's called gee ma koo. It's ground up black sesame seeds made into a smooth, thick, steaming hot "soup". Yum! If you want some Asian desserts, this is a great place to visit. Note: At the time we were there, the air conditioning wasn't working... not a good thing when you're consuming a hot soup! I love Frostcity partly because of nostalgic reason. This mom and pop shop looks just like those dessert places I went to when I was a kid. It has no fancy decor or design just a few tables. But the major reason is the food! Its menu is very simple. They serve frost, which is shave ice, not local Hawaiian shave ice but Asian style shave ice. It's a lot smoother and softer than the local shave ice. It tastes more like ice cream than ice. That's how soft it is. I ordered Thai ice tea to go (sorry my picture didn't do it justice it started melting already) and it tasted so rich and real I mean it wasn't those syrupy flavors. It feels like they freeze a glass of Thai ice tea and then just shave it. That's how good it is. They also serve a few traditional Chinese desserts: black sesame soup, walnut soup, grass jelly, tofu pudding. These desserts are not easily found even in Chinese restaurants. I tried all of them and they all tasted so authentic and delicious. Come early cos they are sold out quickly it happened to me a couple of times. And tofu pudding is only available during the weekend aww. I saw that they have board games at the shop and the staff said they used to let customers use play these board games and hang out at the store. But of course not anymore because of covid =( This shop is hidden in a small plaza on Beretania. They have a small parking lot outside but it shouldn't be too hard to find parking. Shaved ice comes out as individual ice flakes rather than the fluffy layers of most Taiwanese ice places. Still super fluffy and soft, but a different mouth feel. They have so many options in terms of flavors the menu goes across the entire front counter. Hot soups are also really good and are a nice addition to the shaved ice. The ice is very, very fine and fluffy. It was beautifully arranged but I didn't feel satisfied because the ice was so airy and there really wasn't a lot of fruits or mochi in our bowl. I decided to try their boba drink. The Jasmine Milk Tea with boba was very good! I love that you have a choice for how much sugar you want them to use in your drink. This is not a traditional shaved ice, it's more like "snow." The texture is very smooth and silky! We got the mango/strawberry and green tea/thai tea with added condensed milk & mochi. The flavors taste exactly like what you order! Also get the mochi! Texture is chewy and tastes sweet, how a mochi should be. One of the best mochi's ive ever had.
