I have been on a search for the best cupcakes since S******** opened in Beverly Hills. I have stopped searching for a while so haven't checked out newer places but by far I like this place. The frosting for the cupcakes I got (toffee caramel, peanut butter, chocolate chocolate, and orange cream cheese) is not waxy, or not powdered sandy sugary, or too sweet, or too greasy or too distinctively flavored. Thick textured subtle flavored frosting goes well with not too dry or not too moist cakes. I liked peanut butter with light crunchy topping bits, and cream cheesy orange cupcake. I wish they have more flavors. Parking sucks, shop is cute, not many locations, friendly staff, I will definitely crave these cupcakes sometimes. read more

I didn't feel welcomed and also the employees weren't even asking me what I wanted or whenever you're ready let us know which cupcakes would you like to select? . I got their attention by saying hi for the second time and then went on with my order. I wonder how long they were just going to stand their awkwardly and ignore me. My wife and I just tried the cupcakes at the Frosted Cupcakery for the first time. We got the chocolate mint, cookies and cream, red velvet, peanut butter, and chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. I really enjoyed the crunchy texture of the crushed Butterfinger on the peanut butter cupcake. She really likes the mint cupcakes because it has a nice minty flavor but not overwhelmingly so. We both really enjoyed the red velvet. All cupcakes were perfectly moist with just the right density. Not too heavy like the Sprinkles cupcakes. The cake to frosting/sprinkles ration is spot on. I agree with another reviewer that these are definitely sweet cupcakes, but that's how I like them. The cookies and cream cupcake was good, but not amazing. The chocolate and vanilla one was a hit for my wife because of the contrast of intense flavors, but it was too extreme on the vanilla for me. The only major issue with this place is the $3/cupcake price tag. Pretty much highway robbery. However, they are very good cupcakes for a special treat. Summary: Parking in the area is tough. Price per cupcake is $3, which is pretty steep. The cupcakes are excellent though. Very moist. Friendly staff. Very sweet. Good variety. These cupcakes are really really good. I love them all. They are just as good as the ever popular sprinkles, and probably better. Their cupcakes look more handcrafted than sprinkles and there are more yummy fillings and cute toppers that taste good unlike sprinkles that are only for looks. Taste, service and packaging for the cupcakes is all good. I had the salted caramel hi-top. It's a smaller cupcake sandwich with two tops of mini cupcakes with frosting in between. Genius! That's the proper way to eat a cupcake! One day they had free samples. If it weren't for those free samples I'd have never come back because they had run out of gluten free for my mom. One of my coworkers brought these in to celebrate another coworker's birthday, and these were delicious! I had a chocolate cupcake with caramel buttercream toffee- so, so good. The cake was nice and moist and there was plenty of frosting. There was definitely a strong toffee taste, so if toffee aint your thing, this aint your cupcake. They also had toffee pieces around the cupcake just to make it even more ridiculously sweet and amazing. I follow Frosted's IG account and wanted to replicate something I saw on their page for a friends party. I called them on a Friday for pick up Sunday. The assortment of cupcakes spelling out "Congrats" + the image of an airplane on the 9th cupcake was a party hit. The cupcakes were fresh and delicious. This is a great idea that can be used for multiple occasions. Just pick a different last image that they have numerous chocolate pieces for. Went in to get two cupcakes with my girlfriend today around 6:30pm. We asked for a royal white cupcake and carrot cupcake. We were almost home when we opened the bag and realized there was only one cupcake. They forgot to put the other one in the bag and it of course the one they put in had to be the carrot cupcake. This store is just one of many along 2nd Street in Long Beach, but it's more towards the end of it, so you get to avoid a bit of the traffic that the big restaurants pull on a normal day. The store itself is quite nice, with a number to seats and tables for you to enjoy your fresh cupcake. My friends and I came in at around 5pm on a Monday and it didn't seem to be that busy at all. They still even had a majority of their flavors left. My friends and I each tried one cupcake flavor and we reached the consensus that the cake itself is delicious, but the frosting combined with the cake can get a tad sweet, especially for any of the chocolate cupcakes. I had the Chocolate Caramel Toffee cupcake and I was in desperate need of milk after eating it. Texture and consistency of both the cupcake and the frosting were great, neither left any kind of a heavy residue feeling in my mouth, they were just really sweet when eaten together. The cupcake was so soft, even though I ate it about two hours after buying it. At the suggestion of friends who had Frosted cupcakes for their wedding a few years ago we decided to try them out. We were spending an afternoon in Belmont Shore and decided to stop by this shop without setting up a formal tasting. We immediately fell in love with a few flavors and I went forward with placing an order for our wedding immediately. Our big day was in March and I still get texts from family and friends asking where we got the cupcakes! Frosted was a pleasure to work with and ordering through them was a much cheaper option than ordering a traditional wedding cake. Plus we were able to give our guests three flavor options which everyone enjoyed. Frosted does not deliver themselves but they have a third party delivery service that they use.
