The biscuits were big and quite heavy, covered in meaty gravy, with 2 perfectly cooked eggs, and sautéed onions and peppers. I can eat a lot... and I struggled to finish this breakfast. Was in Nashville for the weekend and needed to find a place to do work as I had not taken the day off. I googled "best coffee shops for doing work" and a Forbes article came up with around 8 cafes. Of those 8, we opted for the Frothy Monkey. We arrived and the host was extremely rude upon arrival. We asked if we seat ourselves or if we can just go in and sit down since there was a sign that said "wait to be seated" but it wasn't clear if that was for the patio area. The host snarkily said you wait...and never even said hi. We thought it was odd but said ok and then we're seated inside by the counter. We ordered 2 matcha lattes and 2 breakfasts each. The lattes were tasty and the breakfast was nothing special. The biscuit sandwich was cold and honestly was nothing from nothing. We were hungry so we ate it anyway. We took out our laptops to do work and we're working for maybe 2 hours when we decided to each order another round of matcha lattes. After they brought us our order, one of the staff came up to us and said his manager said we've overstayed our welcome and we have to leave as there is a 1.5 hour limit - which was not mentioned when we arrived nor anywhere on the premises nor on the site nor on Forbes. My boyfriend and I were extremely confused as we had both JUST ordered another drink. There were plenty of tables open as well. The manager even went as far as to unplug the wifi router so we could not get internet. Overly disgusted with the service here. Would not recommend. Last day in Nashville after visiting for the Ally 400. My bf came two days prior to me coming and raved about how I would like it but also forewarned me about the regulation of seating. The ambiance did not disappoint, very nice decor. However the regulation of seating was indeed pretty aggressive. The host was not at the host stand upon entering but we read the "please wait to be seated sign" and followed instructions. After confirming with the host that I would just like to enjoy a coffee for here at the bar, the said host directed us to be seated at the bar. However, we were met by Rachel (which seems to be the manager) with a sharp tone to go back to the host stand for bar seating which we did. Confused at this point, the host asked us once again if we wanted to dine in which I confirmed and she then lead us back to the bar seats. Rachel then confronted the host aggressively about seating us at the bar though I wanted to enjoy my coffee in house. After finally getting settled and greeted properly, Abagail was a breath of fresh air and made me and my guest feel welcomed. She was very sweet and attentive. The menu has a variety of options and effectively descriptive. I had the pleasure of enjoying the Turtle latte with oat milk. I LOVE coffee and this was one of the best lattes I have ever had. It was really smooth and flavorful but not overly sweet. I would definitely recommend visiting but be cognizant of the seating to prevent awkward interactions. I went here for the first time a couple days ago just because I wasn't ready to go back to the room yet. I wasn't hungry so I just ordered coffee. First impression was that this place was super cute! My boyfriend and I both ordered seasonal coffees, iced. He ordered a turtle latte and I order an elderberry ginger elixir with an expresso shot. Truthfully it was a bit slow and the coffee was just ok. It wasn't horrible, it wasn't watery either, it was just ok. We went back this morning for breakfast and I decided to order more coffee but different. The service was much faster today and the coffee was 100 times better. I ordered oatmeal and it was delicious. I ordered another coffee (which I can't remember the name of) but it was 10/10 Overall, this place is really cute and I'm glad I didn't blow it off after my first visit! I love it here! First off, the coffee y'all. I got the hummingbird (espresso+milk of choice, pecan sauce, cinnamon and banana syrup). Everything was house made and it wasn't super sweet-it was just a bit sweet but super flavorful and the coffee flavor still shined through (not at all like getting a sugary drink from dunkin/Starbucks/etc). For breakfast, we got omelets (architect omelette) and eggs and bacon with toast (farm breakfast). So simple but it was delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and you could definitely tell they use local ingredients. The AC wasn't working and we were told the food would take 20-30 minutes to be ready on the day we were there, but despite that I still had a five star experience. The space had plenty of seating on the main floor and more upstairs. To drink, I ordered a bloody Mary (mix made fresh that morning and made with Tito's vodka) and the Havana Latte. For food, the California breakfast substituted on a biscuit, and the Loaded Biscuits and Gravy. Both food and drinks were great, especially the biscuits and gravy, which was some of the best I've had. It had lots of flavor, it was thick and had lots of large chunks of sausage. We walked past this place a few times while in town and it always looked busy so my boyfriend and I decided to check this place out for brunch. It's solid, but not quite perfect. I had the omelet which was good, but after I asked for a side of their salsa, it was incredible. My boyfriend had the farmers breakfast and it was good, nothing out of the ordinary though. We also got a scone and while it was good - it wasn't served with any butter or anything and also was served cold. We got it while we waited for our food and coffee to be brought to us and realized after we got a table we had to wait for our food to get silverware which was annoying. I was in town looking for a popular coffee shop and stumbled upon this cafe (based on the high ratings!). It was quite busy on a Sunday as expected, and there was a line to dine in. Brunch seems fun here and they have boozy drinks and specialty lattes as well. I just walked in to order take out and there was no line for that, I got the monkey mocha and milk's favorite coffee. Both were so incredibly delicious. My favorite was monkey mocha and this seems to be one of their all star specialties. It has espresso, steamed milk, house made chocolate, and frothy monkey banana syrup. I never imagined banana would taste good mixed with coffee but the combo was surprisingly delightful! I even bought a banana syrup and their coffee to try to make my own at home. Milk's favorite coffee was also yummy, it tasted like a regular mocha though. Pretty tasty. I came here for a quick breakfast this week, I was in town for a business trip and a local Nashville friend had recommended it. I got the Bob which was two large whole wheat pancakes with two sides; I got bacon and potatoes. Everything was very tasty. You pay at the register and then they bring you your food after you sit.
