Eh. Think I caught them on an off day. My bagel breakfast sandwich was really chewy, particularly the bagel part. Seemed to be magically both burned and a kind of wet chewy at the same time. The staff seemed friendly, but didn't seem to know how to handle someone wanting to sit outside and eat in rather than getting it to go, so we ended up with wasting the extra packaging they wrapped our food in. Not my favorite chai ever. It was a convenient, nearby place to where we were, and my friend swears by it, which is why I have to believe this was just not their day. We loved it here. Visited a total of 2 times so far while staying in East Nashville and will definitely be back. We each enjoyed a hot latte. I got the Havana which was amazing! The hubs enjoys his plain and he says that was great as well. My tween daughter enjoyed the French toast and fruit selections for brunch. We also had the andouille hash, avocado toast and balsamic greens . Our server was great and gave us advice on where to hike while visiting with a child and dog. Overall this a cute cozy little spot with delicious food, amazing coffee and some cute merch!! We are Frothy Monkey fans . I want to love this place. Live around the corner and feel like it once was and could be a great neighborhood hang/coffee shop. But the service is consistently bad to near terrible. Kitchen always seems understaffed. I'm all for training young kids in the restaurant business, but they need some strong leadership in the store to make sure they can execute. Tonight they were out of a number of items, including the main pasta dishes. What we did order took 25 + minutes...(dining room had a couple tables) I had to send the rest of the family home while I waited on it to go. 2020 has made us think differently about how and when we choose to dine IN at our favorite spots so we were so excited when we found out that Frothy Monkey was doing everything they could to make it a pleasurable and safe experience! We chose to give Frothy Monkey a go, we had previously been supporting them by getting take out. The Fatherland location is quant and visited by mostly locals so it was the perfect spot for our dine in brunch experiment. We instantly felt comfortable. It was obvious that they were concerned with our health as well as making sure that we still had a great experience. The hostess was wearing a mask and gave us an option of open tables. There was plenty of social distancing between tables and our server was masked as well. We appreciated that so much! It was so nice to sit in one of our favorite local spots again. The food is always so good and their standards haven't changed one bit despite the pandemic. I'm pretty simple in my brunch choices so I always like the Farm Breakfast. There is comfort in its simplicity and their soudough bread is crunchy, soft, and warm, the perfect compliment to this simple breakfast. BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY FAVORITE MENU ITEM!! The Havana Latte is the most amazing coffee...it's a cravable item for me. Like one of those random cravings that hit you when your 20 miles away but youre still gonna go get it lol. It's not too sweet, it's creamy & spicy. Perfect amounts of star anise and cinnamon that compliment the espresso perfectly. During this pandemic we have loved supporting our local spots and we realize even more how valuable they are in our community. They keep us going whether it be with our favorite coffee, our favorite snack, that product we just can't live without, or that thing that we crave in the middle of the night. They wait with a smile and welcome us in warmly. They feed us, clothe us, renew our energy, and uplift us when we are down. So support your local favorite places. Waited 20 minutes before having our drink order taken, food took an hour, and another 45 minutes to get our check and to go boxes. Think there's better places to dine. read more

Delicious coffee! My friend first tried the rosemary honey latte and I tried the Havana latte and both were outstanding. I love any coffee combination with condensed milk and the Havana latte did not disappoint. We only had time to pop in for coffee, but the food menu also looked very good and I will definitely be back to try some food/cocktails as well. read more

Everything was wonderful! It was a great start to the day. The only thing that I will say is that they had maybe 1-2 more staff than was needed, as they were standing around with nothing to do. Let me start by saying that these guys were kind and flexible when encountering obstacles today! Their sign was being painted and there is a huge truck in their patio seating area. We asked if they could move some tables to the side of the building and the manager was happy to do so! Rebecca was our server and she was great! They both had great recommendations which made for a great breakfast! I had the huevos rolandos and a pecan latte! The portion sizes were amazing and everything tasted great! Very trendy spot in Nashville but I think they are trying to hard to be eccentric. The drip brew was good, the side of bacon was cooked perfectly! The vibe is welcoming and staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. Based on staff, simple food and vibe 4 to 4.5 stars Breakfast entrees- I had the cheesy grits with cold prosciutto ham and a dijon creme sauce. I added an egg and a side of bacon. The entire breakfast was covered in salad with the ham and dijon sauce over it. To find the dried out and cheesy less grits I had to go digging. I wanted to rate this place better but I left hungry which is never good after having breakfast read more

We came for breakfast and the service was mediocre. I think they were quite busy though. The food was tasty but our real concern is the 24% sales tax that was added to our meal. Attached is a receipt for proof. We had no alcohol, just food and coffee. The sales tax in Nashville city is 9.24% so this charge is extremely high and unnecessary. Absolutely loved this charming neighborhood and the food was top notch. My wife got the frothy monkey mocha and loved it. We shared the chorizo sausage biscuit and my goodness that was amazing. Perfect balance of flavors! We ordered eggs and ham plate for our dogs and I'd say they loved it since they ate it all. Super pet friendly! They brought out water bowl for them and treats. We were greeted at the door with a friendly "Hello friend" and were seated in just a couple of minutes on a Friday morning. Lots of interesting coffees offered and the Havana was nice and flavorful and presented artfully however both coffees were barely warm. We had eggs, sausage Gouda grits and sourdough toast. The bread was delicious but the grits should not have been served! They were a lukewarm solid congealed tasteless mess! When we dumped them out of the bowl, they retained the shape of the bowl! Interesting there were no condiments on any of the tables either. Had to ask for salt, pepper, sugar, etc... not sure this is just the way they do things or if these were forgotten that day! I've been several times to Frothy Monkey at this location. I like the atmosphere here - big space, outdoor space, light, airy. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because I feel it's inconsistent and I don't understand that. Frothy Monkey was one of the first places we went to when we were thinking about moving here. Actually met our wonderful Realtor here and thought "hey this is great - we can get used to this!" This last visit, we met a friend coming through town and suggested Frothy Monkey. Service was great, very friendly staff - unfortunately the food wasn't great?? This was breakfast - all three of our choices were not great. A little disappointing, especially since we had recommended meeting our friend here. I'm not writing it off and will try again, just hoping it will be better next time. read more

Something light to start the day of traveling to see al of Nashville. The pancakes were great, very grainy, taste wise it was almost like French toast. The red potatoes were good. Maybe a touch bland. Seemed like it was drizzled in some oil and baked, were a herb seasoning in it. They did require dipping in ketchup but no big deal. And the fruit cup was standard. Then we had wait a couple more minutes. They hostess kept apologizing, but offered nothing to us to justify them removing us off the list. I requested to speak to a manager, and she said she was the manager. I asked for a discount, she didn't acknowledge my request. I would never ever come here again.
