This is my go to for pasta! We like to come here for special occasions. Like this last time, it was my cheat day! The sevice is spot on. Our waiter brought everything in record time, including fresh cracked pepper. Even when the restaurant started getting packed, he never forgot us. Ordered Theresa's favorite, it's a wondeful pasta dish and starting to be my personal go to! Its a great balance of creamy and tang! The portions are also large. I have always been a fan of authentic Italian food. Frugatti's has always satisfied my cravings for it. You want a delicious, outstanding, full 5-course meal? Frugatti's has got it. We ordered several dishes and had lots of leftovers the following day. The Antipasto was perfect for our family. Just keep in mind to pace yourselves if you want to save room for the main entree. My husband got the Fitness Baked Mostoccioli and finished his plate. My sons ordered from the kids' menu, which seriously appeared to be be adult-sized entrees. One got the Ravioli and the other got the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken pieces. My youngest is a picky-eater, but he ate a huge helping of his Fettuccini without complaint! I ordered the Beef Braciole ala Basilicata, after I asked our server, Andrew, what his thoughts of it were. He said it is a favorite and sold me on it. When I got my plate, I was in awe. It looked delicious! I could not eat all of it in one sitting though. I think I had 2 more servings of leftovers afterwards! The strips of beef were perfectly seared and wrapped over the prosciutto and chopped garlic. This had to be the richest dish I've ever feasted on. We've dined with them several times and never had any issues. My go to options are the chicken parm or the lasagna. My girlfriend usually goes with either than spinach manicotti or the lasagna. I had the regular ravioli yesterday, and that will probably make it into the regular rotation. I've ordered other dishes too, and they were certainly good but just just not as good as those three. The portion sizes on everything we get are great, and we usually take some home with us after the bread and an appetizer (Roma artichokes). The price is more than places where they "treat you like family," but the quality is much better. Plus, every server we've had has been at least a 4/5 no matter how busy the place was. Their wait times can be a bit crazy sometimes, so I'd suggest making a reservation. That said, reservations are super easy. read more

Wait times are long and they're not honest about how long you have to wait so they drag out the time. The food was not the greatest for the price. This past weekend my sister and I hosted a 50th Anniversary dinner for our parents in the Wine Cave and it was extravagant. The staff was so helpful and EVERYTHING went so smoothly. We had a reservation for 7pm, I called the day of and asked if the reservation doesn't show can we take that time slot they said they don't do that so we would have to wait for 7pm, why wait if they didn't show. I didn't like that. Upon arriving I checked in and it was fast and easy check in we waited maybe 5 min for our table, that was good. We did have to sit outside since we were a group but it was fine our area was good could've had on at least one heater because it was outside and although it was closed it it was still cold. Many birthdays that day super SUPER it was Tuesday night. My kids 1 older ordered a burger and a the (9) ordered the kids fettuccine Alfredo and added shrimp to it the plate was not for kids. It looked more adults it was HUGE! Baby had the kids Alfredo and that looked more appropriate. My husband had the steak and asked for it well done and let me tell you it was WELL DONE a little dry IMO. He still ate it. I had the Salmon and it was yummy amazing loved it the asparagus could've had seasoning on it but I added salt and pepper my self. I like it, would go again. Their tent set up for outdoor dining (covid-19) is very nice and spacious. It's set up out front around the fountain. They aren't giving out menu's you have to have a smarty phone to upload the menu on your phone so have your phone charged I guess. I prefer reading a physical menu but we made do. I ordered the chicken masala it was delicious mashed potatoes were super good and two stuffed mushrooms perfect as usual. I come here for the garlic cream dressing it's sooo darn good! For dessert I ordered the zabaglione it's kind of like a pudding/cheesecake very light and creamy. I ordered white sangria as my drink I didn't like it and won't order it again. it took a long time for the everything to come out. Drinks salad and food. I'll start off by saying the last time we went to frugattis was years ago at their old location and we honestly didn't like it. Im from NEPA so I'm extremely critical of Italian food, with that being said we visited the new location last week and it was much better! We ordered two of the lunch specials I got the special sandwich with soup, and my partner had the eggplant with fettuccine Alfredo. No complaints, delicious. Man, I'm so bummed! Frugatti's used to be such a good little dinner spot, but the new location is not it. The parking situation is very limited, we had to park by the hotel across the parking lot. We were seated in the area toward the back, which seemed like an enclosed patio. The chairs are plastic wicker and not very comfortable. Also, it was very loud and too warm. It was so loud that I could not hear my husband across the table, even when we leaned in to speak to one another. The server could barely hear us, he had to squat down to speak to us and still had to repeat himself. The volume made the restaurant feel 100% like Chuck E Cheese. And the food was not the quality that we have come to expect from Frugatti's. My Caesar salad was very soft and a majority of the romaine were brown around the edges. My filet tip Bucatini had so much garlic that it was all that I could taste or smell. Something positive, my margarita and my husband's lemon drop were great. And our server Tanner was doing the lord's work serving that section. He tried to move us to the interior but was unable to because of the wait. Ordered this for a birthday dinner and was beyond pleased with the quality and quantity of food that came with this pack. The food was still very hot when I picked it up (only took 15 mins for it to be ready). Does come with a side of bread, and choice of dressing for the salad (we did balsamic vinegar) I ordered this just because it sounded cool. The Meatball Lasagna was amazing! The bartender made the recommendation and I had no regrets. It paired well with a glass (or two ) of the Tobin James, Paso Robles Cabernet. We begin with a party of 10 on new years eve and high hopes which were dashed completely by nights end. Forced to wait additional 30 minutes AFTER our reservation time to be seated. First off, service was inexcusably horrible. Never gave us her name but either Sarah or Alyssa U. from our multiple receipts. Told us bread was coming over and over and then it turned into "we ran out of bread" after 30 minutes. The first and ONLY basket of bread (for a party of 10) arrived well AFTER we received our meals. 7 of the 10 of us said food was either cold or spent time under heat lamps and simply wasnt fresh. Our chicken breast with mushroom sauce was made completely different than on prior occasions. Food was not set down, it was plopped down. Bills were not handed to anyone, they were loudly plopped down. Finally, server said at end of meal we could have complementary desserts if we wanted and then later changed it to 1 per couple which we all thought was odd. Then she made unprofessional comments as to which desserts we ordered and visibly was annoyed when we asked for them to be boxed up. This was a LONG dinner and the delays in getting food, dessert, and bills were just not acceptable. The small room behind the reception area was nice and quiet compared to main dining room, but this was a miserable experience made much worse by a server who was simply NOT equipped to handle a party of 2 let alone a party of 10. She didnt look new to us and other reviews mention her by name as well but honestly management knew we were having all sorts of issues and even the complementary dessert was handled awkwardly and badly. Maybe avoid sending a trainee or subpar server to a medium size party. No free dessert is worth going through this experience. It's really zero stars. We were all glad to get out of there. Frugatti's, do better. Reputation only gets you so far. This was epically bad service and the food was not up to par either. read more

We came to Frugattis on Thursday Dec 22. We hit the sweet spot of 4PM, BEFORE it got CRAZY BUSY! But I have to say Andrew, our server, was a STAR! Never once did we feel like we were a problem or too much for him. His wonderful personality and generosity is unparalleled! First time coming. Andrew was our waiter and he definitely made my experience 10x better. The food definitely speaks for itself on taste but the service was even better. We got the appetizer sampler, spinach & artichoke pizza & the penne primavera. All of those were so delicious. I would definitely order each of these again. Very cheesy, full of flavor. They made these plates with extra love. Andrew came around often enough to refill our drinks, ask if we needed anything and would return with whatever we asked for within a minute or less. For Italian food this is the place to go in Bakersfield. Hands down real hearty wholesome food. The Beef Braciole is by far my favorite followed by the Lobster ravioli. The customer service is above a 5 star rating even if you have issues the staff will resolve it immediately and make it right and then some. Tonight the wife and I decided to do take out and have a cup of soup; clam chowder and the minestrone and both were still very hot when we got home. The chowder was perfect consistency nice size cut potatoes and clam portion. The chopped salad is probably my new favorite salad in town and the bruschetta is exactly the way it should be.
